In the country of Fiore there is a city known as Era. At the center of this city is a large plateau, where atop sits the Fiorean headquarters of Ishagarian coalition governing council, overlooking the city from the peak. A zig-zagging path from its base leads directly to the building's front gates. The Magic council, the highest authority in the magical world on the continent of Ishgar, uses this facility when conducting business within the kingdom.
This is where general Kane finds himself now. Approaching the ornate building, Kane watched as the guards and attendants bowed and saluted him while he simply waved in passing. Right before the entrance he was met by a female frog-folk attendant.
"Rune knight general kane? The magic council is waiting for your arrival."
Kane took a deep breath as he was led into a large dark chamber. The light from the hallway was expunged as the attendant closed the door and remained outside. Letting his eye adjust, the only light he could see within the chamber came from a floating platform 30 feet up in the air. It was made of stone and had glowing light blue runes carved into it and from atop he could hear voices.
On the floor in front of him was a smaller platform with an inactive rune that lit up the moment he stepped onto it. The small platform began to rise five, ten, twenty before finally coming level with the main large platform. As he rose the voices hushed and grew quiet as he approached. Stepping off his platform and onto theirs, Kane saluted the magic council.
"General Kane, welcome."
"Thank you, councilor Belno" kane responded
Councilor Belno was a serious woman and head of commerce of the coalition, who managed all commerce related problems within the kingdoms. Managing trade inside and out of the coalition and the commerce guilds, she has ushered in an economic boom. Turning his head, Kane addressed each member of the council with a nod.
Councilor Leiji, head of development, managed all things agricultural and industrial. A tall man, he wore a jacket with a hood over his head and eyes hidden behind his signature circle glasses. He notably enlisted artificers from the northern continent to join the coalition as a special institution based in the kingdom of Joya.
Councilor Siegrain, head of arcana, monitored all magic related issues. Wearing a simple white jacket and white pants, his most notable features were his blue hair and strange birthmark around his right eye. His position as head of arcana was cemented by his status as one of the 10 wizard saints and a prodigy with elemental magics.
Councilor Ultear, head of intelligence, was a woman of fair skin with long black hair wearing a white robe. As head she roots out any corruption within the coalition and any threats outside of it. Under her leadership the coalition's intelligence network was able to warn the continent of Ishgar of an attack from an empire of the western continent, Alakitasia, and push back.
Councilor Majima, head of diplomacy, was an elderly halfling man with bushy eyebrows. He handles all inter and outer deals of negotiation for the coalition. In his time as a councilor, he has convinced three nations to join the coalition, and has maintained a balance of power between its members.
Councilor Michello, head of protection, was a small cat-folk man with ears and a tail. He is in charge of maintaining security across the coalition and has taken many actions to deter darker forces. Despite his age he is nimble as ever.
Councilor Org, head of Law, manages the courts and prisons and creation of new laws within the coalition. An older man with hits of elven blood due to his pointed years has held firm by making just decisions. He was the one who made charm rings illegal.
Councilor Duer, head of archives, kept track of all past and present incidents that have occurred within the continent. A very tall man, he wore a long cloak over his shoulders and a tall top hat with three stacked eyes on it that made him 9 feet tall. He attained his position as a councilor due to his connection to the Tower of Sorcery, a grand library located in the kingdom of Minstrel, of which he was an archivist.
Councilor Moxen, head of welfare, maintains the well-being of citizens within the coalition and extends aid to those in need outside of it. Moxen was a larger man who wore a nice suit and a sash over his shoulder. His most notable feature is his three eyes. After a terrible disaster in Desierto he organized relief to affected citizens and commissioned the mage guilds to help.
Finally, there was Councillor Crawford Seam, chairman of the council and formerly head of archives. He acted as leader of the council and would delegate their meetings.
Together they were the most powerful people on the continent, The Magic Council.
General Kane could feel the sweat rolling down the back of his neck, as he stood at attention in front of his superiors. They decided on everything and despite their level headed coolness in most situations could have quite the temper when it came to particular subjects. Such as the one at the center of his report.
"General Kane, you bring a report from hargeon that needs our attention, yes?" Crawford seam said
"Yes, sir, the report details the altercation that happened last night that resulted in the destruction of the docks and many buildings in the city. A former guild mage used a charmring to lure women onto his boat and from there sell them as slaves in bosco."
Councilor Org grunted at the mention of the charm ring and frowned. A few others made some sour faces as well.
"It seems we will need to push for more action in bosco" Michello stated "General Amaya is in Joya currently, her and a division of her arcane archers should be able to root it out"
"Very well, i'll be sure to have a messenger sent" Ultear replied
"Moving on, you said there was property damage?" Crawford continued as he lifted his hand and before them the image of hargeon was displayed, detailing the destruction. It always amazed Kane to see the chairman use his super archive magic.
The magic in question allowed Crawford to magically access any information stored within the user's personalized archive which took the form as a tattoo on their arm. The archive basically allows them to have a keen mind and remember everything they've read, seen, or heard, so long as they activate their magic to record said information. The magic also allows the caster to sync with places of stored knowledge. Crawford has his connection to the council archives.
"The rune knights are usually more careful with such things are they not?" Org asked
"They are, it's just, eh hem, it was not any of my knights that took down the mage." Kane said, coughing into his hand as the council stared at him.
" It was a guild mage who happened to be in the area, witnesses say it was, um, a fairy tail mage" Kane finished averting his eyes.
The council, upon hearing the words, froze and shadow seemed to cover their eyes. The tension rose as Kane could feel magical pressure coming from a few members before it exploded.
"Those idiots from fairy tail have gone and done it again, this time they destroyed an entire port!" Michellow yelled
"What is the matter with them?" a leiji says with an exasperated tone
"I'm actually quite fond of those idiots and their carefree attitude," Seigrein said with an amused tone.
"They may be fools, but they are also an extremely capable lot, the paperwork turned in has a lot of successful missions reported, despite the excess damages left behind" Majima says as he looks through a stack of papers in his hands.
"Yes they poses quite the quandary" Org said
"I think we should leave them be for now" siegrein says "After all if it wasn't for those fools, think how boring this world would be"
"Your to soft on them, you and majima" Belno says as she crosses her arms
"Oh, and you don't have a soft spot of your own for phantom?" Siegrein shot back
"I could care less about phantom lord" Belno said quickly
"That's right you only care about the iron delinquent" siegrain said with a smirk as Belno glared at him.
"Enough all of you, we'll put the issue of fairy tail to the side for now," Crawford said as he redirected the course of the meeting "there are more important issues such as the sighting of hordes of undead in the eastern kingdoms. The guild leagues have been taking care of it for now but they are growing in frequency."
"We should move the cavalier brigade to the area, their mounts can cover more ground than regular foot soldiers" Moxen said stroking his beard
"That could work but what about the ongoing threat of invasion from the western empire. We momentarily deterred any advancement they had two years ago when we posted the eldritch knights in Ca-Elum, but we had to resort to a threat from our special weapons to get them to completely back off." Duer started with a look of displeasure. A few others also had the same look. Even Siegrain who would usually remain cool.
Crawford was the next one to speak after a moment of silence "The army may have backed down but the so-called wizard king did not." As he said this the projected images change from the destruction in hargeon to something more terrifying.
The image showed an ocean on fire in the dark of night with a crescent moon high in the sky. Within the burning ocean were hundreds of destroyed ships and floating in the air 60 feet above it was a shadowed figure holding a staff.
Kane shuddered at the image, he had been one of 3 arcane generals there, and had fought the figure himself. While they had fought with all their might the figure only did so at half. It was on that day he saw the power of one of the four gods of Ishgar.
" We shall be forever grateful that Saint Hyberion intervened, since he did, they have not moved on our waters." kane said with a solemn voice
Crawford simply nodded as the image changed again showing another shadowed figure floating across from the first. Though the shadow concealed most of their body it was easy to see two large batlike wings coming from the second shadow as they hovered in front of the moon.
The image then faded as Crawford dispelled the archive images.
"Enough reminiscing we have work to do" with the council and general Kane continued their meeting.
During their escape from hargeon, Natsu told Lucy that the fairy tail guild was a few days away by foot, located in the city of Magnolia. This confused Lucy as she was familiar with the railways, a train from hargeon to magnolia would only take a day. When she brought this up natsu turned green, happy saying he got motion sick. Despite Natsu not wanting to, Happy agreed with Lucy and they took the train. Settling down in an open compartment, the trio prepared herself for a long ride.
"So Lucy, are you excited to join fairy tail?" happy asked
"Yah, though everything I know about it comes from the papers and sorcerer weekly, which does not exactly paint it in a good light, do you guys really cause that much property damage?"
"Heh not all of us, Natsu definitely doesn't know the meaning of holding back" he said as they looked at Natsu sprawled on the bench.
"From what I saw in hargeon, natsu having such bad motion sickness was not something i expected"
"Yeah it's a problem, whenever I give him an antidote it doesn't last very long but it does ease some of it. It also gets expensive to buy so many, so we usually travel by foot to most places."
Lucy looked over Natsu with sympathy, wanting to alleviate his condition. Reaching to her key pouch she touched the key of the southern cross and summoned a book on basic medicine.
"The really cool lucy, i didn't know you can use requip magic"
"Requip magic? I haven't heard of that kind before, anyway what i just did was apart of my own magic"
"Yhea what kind of magic do you use Lucy?" happy asked. Lucy smiled at the question. She loved to talk about her magic and tell people about how great her spirits were.
"Well I'm a summoner and my magic is called celestial spirit magic, it allows me to summon ancient spirits of the constellations from the astral sea. To summon a spirit i have to open their astral gate and to do that i need these"
Removing her keys from their pouch she showed them off to Happy, who marveled at them.
"Wow, so shiny!"
"Yep, now you asked how i was able to summon the book, well apart from summoning the spirit tide to the key, simply touching the key allows me to perform one spell the spirit knows, crux is the spirit of knowledge and by touching his key i can use the spell pocket library and summon a book from his vast library in the astral realm"
"That's neat" "and useful" Lucy said as she combs through the book. After a couple minutes she shuts it, getting up and moving over to where Natsu was laying down.
"Happy, do you have any antidotes now?"
"Yeah it's our last one" he said as he handed it over to lucy.
Taking the vial, Lucy knelt beside Natsu's prone form and gently lifts his head up.
"Hrrk, plzz no, don't shake me, hrrgg" Natsu whimpered out
"Just relax, I'm gonna give you an antidote so we can move you into a better position." Lucy said as she poured it down Natsu's throat. Natsu felt the toil in his stomach lessen and a little bit of strength returned to him.
Gaining some awareness Natsu watched and felt as Lucy lifted his head up just enough to where she could sit down before resting his head back into her lap.
"According to the book it helps if we take your mind off the train, by laying in a more comfortable position and focusing on other activities we can ease your condition. So let's talk."
"Um, what about lucy?" happy asked
" Well, tell me more about Igneel"
At the mention of Igneel, Natsu had his focus solely on lucy. He looked up at Lucy who gave him a small smile that he returned. He was really starting to like lucy 'she's gonna be a great addition to the guild' he thought
"Hg, alright, what do you want to know"
"Well, how did you meet Igneel?"
Natsu let out a chuckle as he spoke "My earliest memory was with Igneel, he's always been there, he's my dad after all"
"Heh, so, you were really raised by a dragon?"
"Yep, most people don't believe me when I tell them"
"Well i'm obviously not most people"
"I can tell. Igneel taught me everything, how to hunt, how to fight, how to use magic. He also taught me my first language"
"He taught you common?"
"No he taught me draconic"
This gave Lucy a pause 'Natsu knows how to speak draconic!'
Suddenly she began to chuckle and then full out laugh as a few tears leaked from her eyes. While doing so she wrapped natsu's head in a hug and smushed his face against her chest.
Natsu and Happy stared back while Lucy was cackling.
"Hah hah ha, I, I can't believe it, I never thought I'd be able to but, but, Natsu, I'm so glad to have met you." lucy choked out
Natsu was a little concerned why Lucy seemed to be crying but she seemed happy. Happy, who was a little weirded out, pointed this out.
"Hey, uh, Lucy, why are you crying?"
Lucy regained control of herself and let go of hugging Natsu to wipe some tears from her eyes.
"Sorry, guys, it's just that, well I told you a bit about my goals right."
"Yhea, something about how you're also looking for people." Happy said
"Yes, we're gonna be guildmates so I suppose I could tell you. The people I'm looking for are the celestial spirits, more specifically their keys. See, my goal is to find all 88 celestial keys, I already have 10 of them."
"That's cool and all but why were you crying when natsu said he knew draconic"
"Well some keys require certain components aside from the basic stuff to complete a summoning ritual. One such key requires the summoner to speak draconic, a language that hasn't been used in hundreds of years, I thought that even if I found the key, I would never be able to summon the spirit"
"So whats the spirit that requires you to know draconic" happy asked
Lucy smiled at the question "I think you'll really like him, Natsu. His name is Draco, Spirit of the dragon constellation"
Natsu's eyes lit up at the name and quickly sat up. Turning to grab Lucy by her shoulders, he started shaking her.
"Are you serious Lucy, he's a dragon?! Do you think he could know where Igneel is! Where's his key? I need to ask him. Teeelllll meeeeee!" Natsu spouted while shaking her back and forth much to Lucy's chagrin.
"Naa-aaa-sstuu, sto-op sha-aking me-ee-ee" lucy managed to say
"Oh sorry lucy" Natsu said as he let go
Recovering from the rather violent shaking, Lucy summoned the Compendium of the Celestial Spirits. An opened to a drawing of an ornate key with a symbol on it that looked like a capital T that had a spiral connected to the bottom. She turned the book around to show Natsu and Happy.
"This is Draco's gate key and it has been lost for hundreds of years. Draco is considered to be an incredibly strong spirit and due to the spirit's immortality, is far beyond ancient. I don't know for sure, but he may be able to help find Igneel, if we somehow find his key."
"That's so awesome lucy, I promise i'll help you find all the keys"
"And i'll do everything i can to help you find Igneel, I promise"
With that declared the trio fell into a comfortable silence, be for happy notice Natsu was sitting up just fine.
"Hey, natsu, your motion sickness is gone" he cheered, however at the mention of it, natsu remembered he was on the train and felt it come back with a fury as he turned green and collapsed back into the seats.
"Ah, maybe you shouldn't have said anything happy," Lucy said as she helped maneuver Natsu back into a lying position.
For the rest of the day the trio made small talk, well Lucy and Happy did, until night fell and it was announced that they would reach Magnolia by morning. Happy fell asleep with a fish in his mouth and natsu was snoring from his place in her lap. Lucy spent most of the time reading before she looked out the window and at the night sky.
It was beautiful, most people took it for granted and didn't really understand when they looked up at night. It was a window to the astral sea, a realm of stars and infinite space. Where the celestial spirits called their home. Right now she could see a couple constellations in the sky, pyxis and eridanus were the most visible, shining brightly.
But upon seeing them shine, Lucy frowned. Pulling out one of her silver keys, Lucy summoned the spirit.
"Open gate of the telescope, telescopium" she said quietly
In a quick flash of light a new figure was standing in the compartment. The figure was a well dressed man wearing a top hat and a complicated clockwork monocle on the right eye.
"You summoned me, Miss lucy?" telescopium asked, tipping his hat.
"Hey Tel, It's been awhile"
"It has, but I suppose you'd like me to scry for you now?"
"Please, It's been awhile, I need to see how he's doing and if it's gotten worse"
"I as well," Telescopium said with a saddened tone before his monocle began to glow.
Projecting from it was a viewing circle that Lucy peered into. Looking into it one would see the night sky, but not one of shining stars. No, the stars seen were dim and a light pulsing could be seen, if one looked close enough. The stars seemed to pulse at odd intervals, as if someone was struggling to catch their breath.
As Lucy looked at them she mentally connected them all and formed the image of a constellation before frowning even harder.
"It's gotten worse, his stars are even dimmer than before" she said sadly
"Yes, they are, I fear it won't be to long now" telescopium responded equally sad
"Why, Why can't you all just tell me where he is? He's dying and needs our help"
"And oh how we wish we could but you know celestial law prevents us from doing so. We all would want nothing more than to help him, but we cant"
"It's not right, what if I can't find him in time?"
"Then that will be the end of Leo forever, but you mustn't give up hope. When you first noticed his constellation beginning to dim, you came to us for answers, ones we could not provide. And over many months you kept track of his stars and their brightness until you realized what was happening. On that day you promised to all of us that you would find him and save him. To a celestial summoner and to us spirits.. A promise.."
"Is our word, and one we will never break" Lucy finished, as she wiped a few tears that leaked out.
"I'll find leo, and i'll save him from whatever is hurting him, that's my promise" lucy said determinedly
"That you will, miss lucy, that you will" telescopium said as he vanished. Leaving Lucy to rest as she watched the stars.
Upon arriving in the city of Magnolia the next morning, Lucy was amazed by its beauty.
Magnolia was a large merchant city of 60,000 people and filled with ambient magic. The city was a large built-up area, extending over a large, rectangular surface to the shores of Lake Sciliora at the northern part of the city. From the lake multiple canales flowed through the city with fishermen going up and down. Many of the buildings looked to be made of stone and wood work and were very colorful.
Located almost in the middle of the town, overlooking the Central Path, Lucy could see Kardia Cathedral, one of Magnolia's most important and distinctive landmarks. Recalling what she read in a book, the cathedral is apparently filled with divine magical energy. In the northernmost part of the city, sitting on the shore of Lake Scilliora, about 4-5 kilometers up the Magnolia central path, Lucy could see the Fairy Tail guild hall. The southeastern section of the city is the train station where Natsu, Lucy and Happy just left.
Following the central path towards the guild Lucy looked this way and that. It was only an hour till noon but many people were on the streets, entering shops, or approaching vendors. Lucy noted the geography of the city, how it was nestled between forest and a mountain range. Lucy could tell she was going to love it here. Finally, after a bit of walking, they made it to the guild hall.
"Welcome to fairy tail" Happy says when they reach the entrance. Lucy looks up amazed by the building. It looked to be about three stories tall with cream colored walls and red roof shingles. The windows were green and red in the shape of diamonds and the large red front door was leaf shaped. An overhang was just above the door proudly displaying the guild name. Stepping back a little, Lucy could see three large banners hanging from the top of the building. The middle one was the biggest, it was orange and had the fairy tail symbol on it in white.
"WE MADE IT BACK ALIVE!" "We're home!" Natsu and happy shout as Natsu kicks the doors open. Stepping inside, Lucy can see the guild was full of people, who responded with their own greetings.
On the inside of the guild was a wide open area with many tables strewn about. Four large wooden pillars stretched from the floor to the ceiling around the tables. On both sides of the hall were rows of simple potted plants and sets of stairs that led up to a small walkway where diamond shaped windows let in natural light. Moving past all the tables, near the back, was a bar with another set of stairs that led up to a large second floor that connected to the walkways.
"Heard you went all out in hargeon Natsu, had to go starting troublleeehh.." a member with buck teeth says before Natsu jumps at him, kicking him in the face and sending him into a table and chairs destroying them. This surprised lucy. "Why did you do that?" Natsu ignores her in favor of yelling at the guy he kicked.
"You lied about that salamander, I'm gonna kick your butt!" Natsu yells. The member quickly gets up yelling at Natsu in turn
"I'm not the one to blame here, I'm just passing along a rumor I heard!"
"It was just a rumor?!"
"You wanna fight, let's go!"
Natsu quickly takes him up on the offer, hitting him again, but this time into a few tables where other members are sitting. The rustling crash causes them to go flying and crashing into even more members. As things start to heat up, Lucy notices a few members near the wall grab some instruments. She realized that their probably bards as they begin to play a fast and upbeat tune that, strangely, fits the current situation.(Fairy tail, can can ost)
"Now now natsu, i think you need to calm dowooonn" happy says before he's elbowed in the face and sent flying, ricocheting off the faces of even more members. Now almost everyone seems to have been dragged into this guild brawl. With chaos growing in the hall, Lucy stands in the middle with a smile on her face. 'wow I can't believe i'm standing in the fairy tail guild hall'
"So natsu finally made it back huh, it's time to settle things once and for all"
Getting up from a table near Lucy, a guy with dark hair and surprisingly no clothes except for a pair of boxers. On his right pec is a blue fairy tail symbol. This is gray fullbuster, a talented wizard who has a bad habit of losing his clothes. As gray marches to join the brawl he's called out by a female guild member sitting by the bar.
"Gray, your clothes?"
"Huh, I don't got time for that" gray yells surprised yet not by his lack of clothes
Looking towards the bar, a young woman with long brown hair is drinking wine from a glass. She wears brown pants and a blue bra, with silver rings around her wrist and black armbands on her biceps. Hir guild mark can be seen on her lower left hip in blue. This is cana alberona, a talented divination wizard who holds the title of fairy tales heaviest drinker.
"Yah see, this is why I don't date the men here, cause they got no class" she sighs, before pulling out a literal barrel of alcohol and proceeds to chug it, to lucy's shock.
"Come here, natsu," Gray yells as he kicks a guy out of the way. Natsu who was grappling the original guy he kicked yells back at him "not until you put some clothes on!"
"It's barely noon and you guys are acting like spoiled babies," a man says as he approaches from behind lucy. He wears a dark blue jacket and pants with a high collar and sandals on his feet. He has white hair and stitches below his right eye and stands a good few feet above lucy. This brute of a man is Elfman, a muscle bound mage who believes all you need to solve any problem is two strong fists. "I'm a real man and I'm about to prove it to ya!"
Natsu and Gray didn't take well to those comments and sucker punched elfman in the face with their right and left fist respectively, sending elfman flying across the room.
"They knocked him back that easily" Lucy says as she watches Elfman crash on top of a few people.
"Geeze it so nosy around here huh" Lucy turns to see an orange haired guy with two girls in his arms. He has brown shoes, black pants, an orange shirt and green jacket. On his face was a pair of blue tinted sunglasses. This was Loke, who's ranked high on the most eligible wizard bachelors list.
Loke was then hit in the head with a flying bottle. "Are you all right?" one of the girls asked. getting up from where he was sitting then turned to the girls.
"I'm gonna go fight, but only to protect you two."
"Good luck lokeee"
Lucy pulls out her own copy of the wizards bachelors list and crosses out loke's picture.
"Well he's definitely off the list, what the heck is wrong with these people. There doesn't seem to be one sane person in the whole place, i probably should have realized that from hanging with natsu and happy" she says staring at the chaos
"Oh hello, are you new here?" a kind voice asks Lucy from behind. Turning around, Lucy sees a white haired woman in a red dress. This is Mirajane, a beautiful wizard who's known for her bikini clad photo spreads in sorcerer weekly. Lucy, recognizing her, begins to fangirl towards Mirajane who just smiles. Calming down Lucy points towards the guild brawl "don't you think we should try to stop them or something."
"He he, it's always like this around here, i just leave it alone" mirajane laughs as she glances at all the fighting before turning back to lucy "besides"
As Mirajane was about to continue, elfman came flying out of the brawl colliding directly with her, bringing them both to the ground with elfman on top. "It's kind of fun don't ya think" she passes out.
"Woah, Mirajane are you ok!?" Lucy yells before she herself is hit to the ground by something colliding with her back. The thing that hit her was gray, thrown by natsu who was currently swinging around gray's underwear.
"Give me back my underwear jerk!" gray yells at natsu before turning to lucy completely naked
"Excuse me miss, could i please borrow your underwear"
Screaming and covering her eyes, Lucy grabs a broken table leg from the ground and swings towards gray, knocking him back into the brawl. "AS IF" she yells
Immediately after that she picked up the bridal style by loke. "These guys are so insensitive a woman has needs" he says before he's punched by elfman, who's already back up, dropping her. "Real men speak with their fist loke." Elfmen is then kicked away again by natsu. "I told you to but out" "AYE"
"Uggh it so loud so much for having a drink to relax" cana says as she pulls out what looks like a playing card. "That's enough you guys i suggest that you knock it off" the card begins to glow as a magic begins to form around it.
"Oh Yah, say who" gray responds with his underwear back on as he takes a combative stance. With a fist in an open palm, a light blue glow appears followed by a magic circle. Elfman starts to yell as he lifts his right arm as it begins to change and transform as if it was made of rocks. Loke also takes a stance twisting his ring as a magic circle forms "you guys are such a nuisance"
One by one every member of the guild begins to activate their respective magics. Natsu summons flames in both his fist gearing up for the fight. "I'm ready for yah"
Lucy, having been pushed, shoved and manhandled, also had enough of the chaos. Whipping out a golden key, she imbues it with her magic and starts her incantation.
"Open Gate of the raging bull, Taurus"
In a burst of golden light, a glimmering summoning circle forms on the floor behind Lucy with the shimmering symbol of taurus in the middle. From it forms a pillar of light and stardust which condenses and becomes taurus himself.
Taurus's appearance now though, was much bigger, from his normal 7 foot stature he was now 9 and half. His horns were longer, his muscles larger and in his hands was a large double headed greataxe.
"RAAAAHHHHH" taurus blared, which sounded very much like a normal bull full of rage and radiated magical strength.
The bright appearance of Taurus and his war cry drew the attention of the guild, who seemed to finally have noticed there was a stranger in their mists.
"Woah, the heck is that thing"
"How'd a monster get in the guild?"
"Does it matter? Let's get it out"
Up on the second floor, a small elderly halfling man watched the brawl and was about to step in at the sign of magic being used but stopped when Lucy summoned taurus.
"Hmm, she's not a member but is joining the brawl, mighty gutsy for a young lady. I'll refrain from stepping in for now, let's see what the lass can do."
Back on the first floor, Natsu was watching Lucy from atop a table and cheered for her.
"Alright Lucy, already joining in on the brawl huh? Well dont think ill go easy on ya."
"In the five minutes since I've entered the guild, I have been flashed by a pervert, manhandled by a playboy and subsequently been dropped to the floor by a brute, and yah know what's really ticked me off…"
As Lucy ranted to the guild, a few looked on in awe at this random girl calling out their members. Cana was smiling at Lucy and found her entertaining as she called out loke, gray and elfman. The three in question still had their magic at the ready and while gray and elfman did not move, loke did take a few steps back.
Lucy while ranting had also detached her whip from her belt as she finished saying "... was that you started this chaos in the first place NATSU!"
Natsu blinked in surprise as lucy lashed out her whip, wrapping it around his ankle before pulling him off the table and towards her with surprising strength. The guild watched in surprise and was pulled off his feet and through the air towards Lucy, where he was caught by a taurus and was hung upside down by his ankle. His face was directly level with Lucy who glared at him.
"I wanted to make a good impression on the guild natsu, how am I supposed to do that if everyone is fighting and barely paying attention to their surroundings? Mirajane was crushed by the big guy and then you threw the pervert at me while he was naked."
"Oh come on lucy it's not that bad" natsu said with a sheepish smile
Lucy glared and pouted at him "Lets see how you like it then, Taurus"
Taurus made a large toothy grin before throwing Natsu back at Gray, sending the two colliding into more guild members.
"Oh yeah, you show those boys who's boss, girl" cana cheered before throwing her own card at elfman who attempted to block it with his stone arm. The card had a lot of strength behind it as elfman was pushed back by it.
"Attacking by surprise in un-manly cana" elfman yelled
"I'm a woman elfman" cana shot back
"GET OF ME NATSU" Gray yelled as he threw Natsu away, before turning to taurus.
"Hey bull guy your gonna pay for that"
Taurus laughed with confidence as he strode into the middle of the hall,
"Is that so, you and what army, I bet right here right now I could take you all one on one, but that's not as fun how bout all at once, prove to me that fairy tail is worth to have my summoner as a member" taurus declared, much to lucy's displeasure.
"Uh taurus how about you just head.." lucy started before being cut off
"OH YEA, Now i've got a fire in my belly, I'll take you on myself" natsu declared as other shouts from the guild members saying that they're not gonna let the jab slide.
Soon Taurus was surrounded on all sides by the guild members. The ones not participating however have moved near the bar and consisted of Happy, Mirajane, Cana, Loke and a blue haired girl wearing a bandana.
"You're not joining in, loke?" happy asked as the others looked at him
"But you always join in the brawls loke" Mirajane said as she moved behind the bar to get some drinks.
"Not this one, the guilds strong but against a celestial spirit, particularly the raging bull, they can't fight him one on one, nor just gang up on him." loke said as he thought to himself 'especially since taurus has his true form back'
As they spoke the fight had started with elfman gray and natsu taking the lead and everyone else trying to dog pile the spirit. Taurus was ready though as he caught elfmans punch and swung him into gray and natsu, then picking up a table with one hand and swing it around knocking back many. One guild member with black hair and a brown poncho pulled out two pistols and fired but Taurus deflected the bullets with his axe. Another member moved at incredible speeds and slipped past taurus defense to land an axe kick on the back of taurus' head, only for him to barely budge, as he swung his table into him.
Lucy watched the fight with her head in her hands at Taurus's actions, before noticing that Gray was back in action and approaching Taurus from behind while he was distracted by another member. In his hands, Gray held a large glave that looked to be made of ice. Lucy could see that Taurus was too distracted and couldn't catch it in time and knew that Gray was going to land a real blow to him.
Reacting quickly she rushed into the brawl and with impressive acrobatics skills, lept off a table into the air spinning with her whip before lashing out, catching Gray by surprise as his hands were bound and pulled of course causing him to miss. Noticing, Taurus made a back swing, hitting Gray's back as Lucy landed on him. Gripping one of his horns for balance, Lucy crouched on Taurus's hunched back.
"Hey, if you try to gang up on my spirit you should know that your fighting both of us" Lucy declared
The members engaged in the brawl stopped upon Lucy's dramatic entrance. Natsu was grinning ear to ear at Lucy's moves, his flames growing brighter. By the bar, Cana was cheering as was happy.
"Yhea go lushi!"
"That was impressive, don't you think so," Mirajane said addressing the blue haired girl.
"Definitely, happy you said she wanted to join the guild?"
"That's right, natsu and I brought her her from hargeon, Lucy has some really power spirits, she even has a giant fishie, she said he was a sea monster"
Loke turned his head in surprise before looking back at lucy and taurus.
'Sea-monster? She found cetus!' loke thought as watched
Even in the middle of a fight Taurus could feel the eyes on him and subtly shifted his own to look directly at Loke with a knowing gaze. As they locked eyes, loke quickly broke it making taurus frown.
Currently the guild was still waiting to see who would make the next move. Just as it seemed that round three of the guild brawl was about to level up, a gigantic foot slams down in the middle of the hall and a thundurus voice is heard.
"When will you fools stop bickering like children!" the voice bellows. Everyone in the guild immediately freezes in place as they knew what would happen if they tried to continue. Looking up, Lucy sees a giant figure. It was hard to makeout his appearance because he seemed to be obscured in shadow.
"Im sorry i didn't know you were still here master" Mirajane says sweetly
"That's the master, he's huge!" lucy says while taurus grinned
"HAHAHA, man talk about a bunch of babies, guess it's just you and me luc…." Natsu boasts before being cut off and squashed under foot by the master, who looks towards Lucy and Tuarus.
"Oh, it seems we have a new recruit" "yes sir" lucy gulps in response
Lucy then watches as the giant starts to shrink from 30 feet to 20, then 10, then past Lucy's own height, shadows fading as he went. When it stopped Lucy could see infront of her a small old man with a white mustache. He had orange shorts and an orange jacket with blue cuffs, a white shirt with the guild symbol, and a blue and orange striped hat, with horns.
"Nice to meet cha, I must say you and your spirit put on quite a show" he says to her
"Allow me to introduce the fairy tail guild master, Makarov" Mirajane says with a smile
Turning around Makarov makes a leap to the guild's second floor doing a couple somersaults and hitting his head upon landing. Rubbing his head he stands on the rail as he turns to address the guild.
"You've gone and done it again you bunch of clods, just take a look at all the paperwork the magic council sent me this time." Makarov says, lifting a stack of paperwork in his hand.
"This is the biggest pile of complaints yet. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDS, ALL YOU KIDS ARE GOOD FOR IS GETTING THE HIGHER UPS MAD AT ME!" makorov yells
As he looks out over the hall, noting the destroyed tables, he focuses on his members. Noticing their down trodden faces as he scolds them, he can tell at least some of them feel a bit bad. "However" he says "I say to heck with the magic council"
A stack of papers in his hands suddenly burst into flames, makarov using magic to do so. He then throws the burning papers in the air watching as natsu jumps to catch them in his mouth. Makarov notes how we had everyone's attention again so he continued.
"Now listen up, anypower that surpasses reason still comes from reason, magic isn't just some miraculous power, it is a talent that only works when the flow of energy within oneself and the flow of energy in the natural world are in perfect synchronization. To perform magic, one must have a strong mind and the ability to focus. It should take over your being and come pouring out of your soul. If all we do is worry about following rules, then our magic shall never progress. Don't let the blowhards on the council scare you, follow the path you believe, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MAKES FAIRY TAIL NUMBER ONE!"
All as one the guild cheers as Makarov lifts his right hand, curling his pinky, ring, and middle fingers into his palm while extending his pointer and thumb. Extending his arm all the way up with the back of his hand facing forward, Makarov shows off the fairy tail gesture. The rest of the guild follows suit cheering. With that everyone starts to clean up the mess they made, moving the debris while a purple haired girl with glasses starts to make new chairs and tables with what looks like wood magic.
Lucy smiles admiring how the master was able to scold his guild members and raise their spirits at the same time. Mirajane then led Lucy over to the bar where she retrieved some kind of stamp. Taurus simply leaned against a pillar as he watched
"So what is your name?" she ask
"Oh i'm lucy"
"Ok Lucy, where do you want your guild mark and what color?"
"Here in pink please" Lucy says as she extends her right hand. Mirajane proceeds to stamp the back of Lucy's hands and when she removes it, a pink fairy tail mark can be seen on Lucy's hand signifying her membership.
"There now you an official member of the fairy tail guild"
"Congratulations miss Lucy, ill be on my way" tauruas said as he dissappeared
"Bye taurus"
Looking around the guild, Lucy notices Natsu by the request board standing next to another guild member. Skipping over to he she shows him her new guild mark.
"Hey natsu check it out I got my guild mark"
"Oy yeah, well welcome to the guild luce" natsu says with a smile before turning back to the board.
"The names lucy, ya know!" lucy responds
"I know" natsu responded
Seeing that natsu was preoccupied, the man next to him decided to speak up.
"Well since natsu is being rude, let me be the first to say welcome to fairy tail lucy, im Nab, your cow friend was really strong i'll be feeling this bruise for weeks"
Lucy turned to Nab taking in his appearance, he was really tall with black hair. He was wearing tribal-like clothes and had a necklace of skulls around his neck. He had some tattoos on his shoulders and paint strips under his eyes.
"Thank you" lucy replies "so what is it that natsu's staring at"
"This is the request board, we can pick from any of the jobs listed here to earn jewel, each job presents a different challenge and pay rate" nab tells her
"Be sure to pick one with a big reward," Happy says as they all proceed to stare at the board while Lucy goes to sit at the bar.
"Whoa a 16 hundred jewel for taking out some thieves!? '' Natsu says as he takes the request off the board.
Moving away from the group a young boy enters the guild, walking up to Makarov who has come down from the second floor to sit on the bar with a beer.
"How come my dad hasn't come back yet" the boy ask with worry in his tone, and with a sigh makarov responds
"Your starting to get on my nerves romeo, your a wizards son so have some faith in your father and wait patiently for him"
"But master, he said he'd be back in three days but it's been a week now" romeo says
"If i recall, he took a mission on mount Hakobe"
"That's right and it's not that far so why won't anyone go look for him" romeo says now yelling at makarov.
"Listen, your old mans a wizard and a capable one at that, he can take care of himself. So calm down, head home and wait." makarov finishes before being punched in the face by romeo
"JERK!" romeo yells as he runs away with tears in his eyes
The conversation had drawn the attention of quite a few members who had frowns on their faces. As Romeo runs away Lucy speaks up.
"Thats gotta be rough" she says
"I know it sounds like the master doesn't care, but he really is worried, we all are." mirajane responds
A loud crash is heard as they look over to see Natsu who punched a hole in the request board.
"Dammit natsu, you almost broke the whole board" nab says as natsu walks away grabbing his bag with happy following him. Together they leave the guild hall, as nab walks over to lean on the bar next to the master.
"This doesn't look good master, you know how he can be, he's probably on his way to save macao, honestly when is he gonna grow up, the only thing he'll do is hurt macao's pride"
"Remember nab, we can't choose another's path just leave him be."
"Why did natsu get so upset" lucy ask as she continues to stare at the door
" probably because he and romeo have a lot in common, natsu sees himself in romeo." Mirajane responds. Lucy turns to her wondering what she meant as she continues
"Just because were members of fairy tail, doesn't mean we don't have our own personal issues, we've all had our fair share of suffering and loss" she finishes looking down. Lucy turns to see elfman sitting down to her right with his head down and to her left Master and nab also looking down. Lucy thinks to herself, contemplating her own past before looking at the door again.
In the middle of town, Romeo is walking down the street rubbing tears from his eyes when he feels a hand on his head. He looks up to see Natsu walking past him, with a determined expression.
Some time later on the road outside of town, a wagon being pulled by a large purple boar can be seen coming down the road. Inside the wagon lucy is sitting on the bench sitting across from Natsu who's laying down and looking sick. Happy is sitting next to her.
"Uughh, why did you come with us?" natsu ask
"I thought maybe i could help" lucy says taking note of natsu's state before moving to sit next to him and put his head in her lap like they did on the train "lets get your mind off the ride"
Natsu doesn't push, instead becoming sicker as they hit a bump. Lucy drops her smile and looks to the side thinking about the talk she had with mirajane before she left.
Flashback
Back at the guild just after Natsu and Happy left, Lucy and Mirajane are talking at the bar.
"Many years ago natsu's father left and never came back, well technically it wasn't his real father but the one who raised him, he was actually dragon" She says while organizing some bottles
"Your talking about Igneel right, didn't know natsu thought of him as his dad" lucy says
"Yes, how do you know about him" Mirajane asked
"Natsu told me about him, when we first met he was calling igneels name"
"Right well, as far as natsu can remember, the dragon found him wandering the forest as a little boy, he took him in and taught him all about dragon culture, their draconic language, and magic, then one day the dragon disappeared and never returned. Natsu lives for the day he might see Igneel again. It's kind of cute don't you think"
"It is, i have to go mirajane"
"Just call me Mira, Lucy"
"Ok, bye Mira" Lucy says as she gets up from her seat and rushes out the guild to catch up with natsu
As she left makorov spoke "Natsu sure brought back quite the lass, something tells me shell be good for him"
"What do you mean master?"
"Well its seems natsu already told her all about igneel and it seems like lucy believes him"
"Well that's a first, most people don't believe him at all when he says he was raised by a dragon, all things considered" cana spoke up
"Yes and it seems in their short time together they've already formed quite the bond. It seems she is going to go help Natsu and happy." makorov said while taking a long drink.
After draining it makorov called out to nab "Nab, the mission macao took what was it?"
"Monster extermination job master, Hikers through Mt Hakobe reported a large troop of vulcans near the peaks. Their strong beast but macao should have been able to handle it unless.."
"Unless what?"
"Unless one got the jump on him and managed to use their natural ability for take over" nab finished
"How is it that you know every detail of every job to ever pass through the guild but barely take one yourself" cana stated flatly, while nab looked sheepish
"I'm just trying to find the right one, and doing background research on the jobs helps"
"Whatever"
"Cana, if you would please" makorov said as she pulled out a deck of cards
"On it gramps"
Holding the deck in her hands they began to glow as did her eyes. Cana proceeded to shuffle the deck rather impressively before drawing a few cards that floated magically infront of her face down, before she flipped them one by one.
In order it showed the reverse fool, upright lovers, and upright chariot
"Huh, well you don't have to worry master, everything will be just fine"
Present
Lucy brings her gaze back to Natsu, when she feels their wagon stop moving. Natsu, also feeling it stop, bolts up with new vigor.
"Alright, we've stopped moving" he yells as he and happy cheer
"Huh I Guess we're here" lucy says as she opens the wagon door. As she does, a blast of cold wind and snow hits her as the wagon driver informs them that this is as far as he can go. Looking around, Lucy takes in the mountain terrain covered in snow. 'Its a frozen wasteland, is Mount hakobe really this bad?' she thinks as Natsu grabs his bag and starts trekking the path with happy. She quickly follows after them, already shivering from the cold.
"It doesn't make sense, I know we're on a mountain but it's the middle of summer and there shouldn't be a blizzard this bad." she say hugging her body trying to keep warm.
"That's what you get for wearing light clothing" natsu says as he continues walking forward, barely even shaking.
"Please your not dressed for it either, now hand over you blanket, since your not using it"
Lucy reaches forward and tries to pull the large blanket strapped to the top of Natsu's bag.
As she's getting the blanket, Lucy gets another idea. Reaching for her belt pouch she pulls out a silver key. On the key is a symbol that looks like a clock face, it is a circle with a line going down the center, connecting at the edge and stopping at the center point. Another shorter line connecting from the center point extends horizontally, stopping half way from the circle edge. If it was an actual clock the time would read 3 o'clock.
"Open astral gate of the clock, Horologium"
As Lucy chants, a large magic circle appears beside her with a clock symbol in the center. When she finishes chanting a bell tolling is heard. DING DONG. The circle glows and splits open like a door and from it a large rectangular object emerges, propelled into the air before landing with a loud thump. The object in particular is a large intricate grandfather clock, with a clock face near the top portraying the current time and an open space beneath it that looks like it could fit multiple people inside. Following the large clock, a cloud of stardust emerges from the door before the magic circle fades and disappears. Lucy wasted no time jumping into the clock wrapping herself in natsu's blanket.
"A clock woah" "that is so cool" natsu and happy say. They look at Lucy now inside and see that she is saying something but they can't hear her.
"Ugg wait I can't hear you" Natsu says before hearing a new voice come from the clock.
"She says im staying in here and i'm not coming out"
"Woah the clock is talking" happy says in amazement
"Not quite, though not wrong either"
Natsu and Happy watch as a well dressed man steps out from behind the very large grandfather clock. The man is quite tall, taller than Natsu but not as tall as the clock. He wears fancy clothes, nice black pants and dress shoes as well as a brown two tailed coat. He has a gold tie and black gloves on. His brown hair is combed neatly to the sides and he has a curly mustache on his face. In his head is a pocket watch connected to a chain.
"Who are you?" natsu ask
"I am horologium, madam lucy's celestial spirit" horologium responds before speaking again at the same time as lucy who they still cant hear.
"What kind of crazy job would force macao to come to a place like this, she inquires" natsu seems to just roll with it and answers
"You should have asked that before you came with us, he came to slay a vulcan, it's a big monster" natsu says as he crosses his arms
Upon hearing that the monster was a Vulcan, Lucy became worried, she read that the monsters liked to kidnap women.
"I want to go back to the guild, she proclaims" while speaking for Lucy, Horologiam pitches his voice in a whiny tone.
"Didn't you just face down most of the guild with the bull guy?" natsu says as he and happy continue walking "aye"
As they walk, there is movement above them on the cliff. A large figure is rushing through the snow before jumping and landing in front of Natsu with an oomph, kicking up snow. In front of the is a large ape like monster with white fur. It tries to attack but natsu dodges. Natsu takes a fighting stance while Happy notes that it seems bigger than normal vulcan. The vulcan suddenly sniffs the air before rushing in the direction of lucy and horologium.
Lucy, having not noticed the beast yet, is surprised when she feels horologium's clock construct shake. Looking up she sees the vulcan's face pressed against the glass, its nostrils flaring and it has a perverse look on its face.
"Me like human woman"
"AAAAHHHHHH, she screams fearfully" Horologium says, standing to the side as he watches the beast lift his clock.
"So it can talk huh" natsu says as he watches the vulcan run off caring lucy.
"Don't just stand there hurry up and save me, you to horologium she says angrily"
Natsu, happy and horologium proceed to follow. Natsu and Happy run while Horologium walks slowly checking his pocket watch.
" why the heck are you walking, we need to catch that vulcan, in might know where macao is, oh and save lucy" natsu says looking back at horologium
"There is a time for everything, good sir, besides madam lucy is currently within my construct, she will not be harmed" horologium says still looking at his pocket watch as they continue on.
With Lucy
Near the summit of mount hakobe, the vulcan has taken lucy to an ice cave. Lucy is still inside horologium's construct and is contemplating her situation.
"How did I get in this situation?" Lucy says as she watches the vulcan dance around beating its chest.
"Horlogium, you can still hear me right?" Lucy asks, placing her hand on the clock's wall.
"Of course madam, my body and construct are connected, i am still very much by your side" horologium voice responses from the clock. The vulcan stopped dancing and got close, staring at lucy.
"Me want woman, but women in box, so me break box" it says as it then smacks the side of the clock trying to break it.
"Un horologium your construct won't break right?" Lucy asks as the vulcan keeps trying to break in.
"Of course my magic is meant to defend and support my summoner and those specified in our contract and my construct is part of that" , Horologium says as mechanical clockwork arms and legs emerge from the clock. The arms catch the incoming fist from the vulcan then runes glow along the arms. Lucy recognizes this as horologium using his magic. The clock then chimes as horologium activates his spell.
"Doleful tolling"
Lucy watches as the vulcans movement slows down, as if moving at a snail's pace. Horologiums magic can affect those who hear his bell toll causing them to become magically slowed by time magic. Taking his hands off the beast horologium's construct backs up a few feet.
"That spell will only last a minute, madam lucy, and seeing that my allotted time is almost up and I have no attack spells, I recommend summoning one of the others. Unless you wish for me to take my true form" horologium says
"Thanks horologium but i dont think you'll fit in this cave, ill summon you later so we can adjust the contract to allow you to help fairy tail"
"I will await that time" he says before dissipating in golden lights, leaving Lucy standing in the cave.
With natsu and happy, they watch as horologium's body disappears in glittering lights. They don't know what that means and become worried and start rushing faster to catch up. They weren't too far away as natsu quickly comes rushing into the cave yelling at the vulcan to tell him where macao is before slipping on the ice and sliding past the still slowed vulcan. Lucy walked over to Natsu who was getting up.
"Spill it monkey where is my friend?" Natsu says, looking at the Vulcan who was still slowed while turning its head.
"Uh what's with him?" natsu asked lucy with a cocked head
"Its just horologiums spell, hurry up and attack it"
"Alright" natsu says as he puched a fist into his palm and lit it on fire before rushing at the slowed vulcan to deliver a fiery punch to the gut.
"Fire dragons iron fist"
The slowed beast was launched backwards by Natsus punch and into a wall of ice as the spell on it ended. It writhed in pain and held its gut before looking at natsu in anger.
"You understand me right, i'm looking for macao, he's a human man, now tell me where he is"
The vulcan looked confused before pointing to a hole in the cave leading to the outside, and gestured for Natsu to come closer. For some reason natsu did and looked out the hole shouting macao's name before he was shoved out the hole and off the cliff. The vulcan proceeds to dance around banging its chest for what it did.
"No like man, me like woman"
"Uggh, how could he get tricked like that, can he even survive out there?" Lucy said, looking out the hole then back at the still dancing vulcan.
"Alright you pervy monkey you're going down"
Lucy reached for her keys again pulling out a gold one, but it wasn't aquarians. This key looked like an ax with horns on its base. The symbol on it was a circle with a half circle above it connected at the edges. Infusing it with magic, Lucy begins her summoning.
"Open gate of the raging bull, Taurus"
Raising the glowing key in the air, Lucy slashes downwards pointing at the ice floor. The summoning circle appeared in front of her and soon so did taurus in his less bulky 7 foot form.
Looking to the vulcan, Lucy called out in an attempt to intimidate it.
"I should warn you monkey boy, taurus is the strongest celestial spirit i have a contract with"
"You got that right miss lucy" taurus replies in a deep voice
The Vulcan did not take kindly to a man almost as big as it showing up out of nowhere.
"Dont touch my woman" its says glaring at taurus
"Your woman, thems fightin words, miss lucy's hand will only go to someone stronger than I"
"Go get em taurus" lucy yells
With a vigor to defend his summoner, Taurus lets out a roar of his own, sounding much like a bull. As he yells his form starts to change, channeling his rage magic he grows taller than his already seven foot stature. Changing into his rage mode that he used at the guild.
The vulcan was quick on his feet dodging sideways as the ice was broken with a loud CRAACCKK. The vulcan leaps at Taurus aiming to hit with its fist, but he was quick to lift his ax and block with its shaft. Using his superior strength Taurus pushes it back. As he was about to charge the vulcun jumped to the side and Taurus quickly lifted his hand catching a blow from Natsu who came out of nowhere with a flying kick. Stopping the attack dead in its tracks, he throws Natsu back, who does a flip mid air to land on his feet.
"Dangit, I was trying to hit the other one" natsu said as taurus let go of his fist
Lucy, realizing that Natsu was actually back cheered before saying "Wait a minute, how did you survive out there? He pushed you off a cliff"
Natsu looks back at her with a smirk "happy came to save me, thanks little buddy"
Happy flew around lucy and responded with an "aye"
"So you can't handle other modes of transportation but happy's ok?" Lucy asks, wondering how that works. Natsu put on a face like he was disgusted
" what kind of stupid question is that, happy isn't a mode of transportation he's my friend, i mean duh"
"You right it was totally wrong of me to compare the two" Lucy says in a sarcastic tone wondering what kind of thought process Natsu had.
Taurus meanwhile was watching the two bicker and looked back at the hand he used to catch the guy's kick, his hand singed. Taurus couldn't help but think to himself
'Just who is this guy, it's been a long time since anyone has been able to land a hit that did damage to me.' Taurus's hand is still stinging in pain as he looks at natsu. 'There's more to this guy than appears'
As natsu and lucy were talking the vulcan suddenly appears above natsu bringing a hammer fist down on him. Natsu doesn't turn around or dodge, instead lifts his own arm to take the blow, the weight behind it cracking the ice under him.
"Now you listen up, I consider everyone in the fairy tail guild my friends.." natsu says to the Vulcan who then kicks him. Natsu blocks but is sent sliding back.
"..whether it's gramps and mira, or even those annoying jerks gray and elfman…"
The vulcan proceeds to charge at natsu, running on all fours. A warm glow surrounds Natsu as a magic circle appears under him.
".. happy and lucy too. They're all my friends, which is why.."
The vulcan jumps at natsu with anger in his eyes hoping to beat down the man that would take its woman. Natsu is quicker though as he jumps and places a lunging kick into his stomach as he yells.. "I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT MACAO!"
Fire then explodes from Natsu's kick, sending the beast flying into the ceiling. It ricochets from the ceiling to the ground but manages to land on its feet. The impact causes icicles to break and fall from the ceiling impaling the ice below. The vulcan uses that to its advantage and starts hitting them towards natsu, who uses heat to partially melt them and take a few hits. The ones that do break upon contact leaving natsu relatively unharmed. As the dust clears, Natsu and Lucy see the vulcan wield a large icicle like a club.
"That's not good" Natsu says as the vulcan makes a horizontal swing at him. Natsu back flips over the attack. The vulcan swings a few more times, natsu dodging as it goes before his footing gets out from under him and he slips on the ice again. As natsu fell on his back the vulcan took the chance to pound him into the ground. Just before the attack connects, Taurus blocks it with his own weapon.
"That was quite the speech you gave there. I'm glad to know that Miss Lucy has some new friends, so as her celestial spirit, my job is to help you in turn." Taurus says while holding back the vulcan that was struggling to overpower him. Taurus then shoves the beast away, knocking the makeshift weapon from its hands.
"Thanks for the help, cow guy," Natsu says as Taurus lifts him to his feet with his arm. The comment has taurus make a face.
"Get your facts straight pinky, i'm a minotaur, the strongest you'll ever meet" he finishes with a smirk as natsu makes his own face at being called pinky.
"Wha'd you call me!"
"Pinky"
"THAT'S IT, YOUR BOUT TO GET IT!"
"Guys!" lucy yells at the two before they get in a fight.
"Finish this fight, before you start another!"
The two look at her, then to the vulcan she's pointing at, reminding them of its presence. The Vulcan gets up in a daze recovering from Taurus's powerful shove.
"Guess it time to finish this" "yeah"
Taurus straps his ax to his back, choosing to attack with his fist as he rushes the vulcan beside natsu, who summons flames around his fist.
Rushing the beast, natsu was faster, and landed the first strike, using the ice floor to limbo under its ice club and land another atack
"Fire dragons stunning strike"
With a quick strike to its sternum, Natsu felt his internal fire flare and his point of contact burned the beast. The vulcan felt its entire body convulse in pain, its muscles tensing and locking to the point where it could barely move but natsu wasn't done yet.
"Fire dragons flurry of blows"
Natsu unleashed a multitude of quick strikes on the stunned beast before backflipping up and over taurus who was charging in with his axe sticking with tremendous force and using the flat side to launch the vulcan back and finally knock it out.
"Now that he's down, I'll be heading back Miss Lucy, make sure to keep with our routine, don't want to lose that fabulous body," Taurus says as he shifts back to his regular form before disappearing in a flash of light.
"Bye, taurus, thanks"lucy says in goodbye
"Hey don't just disappear, i still need to kick your but for calling me pinky earlier" natsu yells
"Forget about that natsu, we beat the vulcan" happy cheers
"Yeah but wasn't he supposed to tell us where your friend is" lucy comments
"Oh uh forgot about that" natsu says rubbing his head sheepishly
As the three stare at the downed vulcan its body starts to glow before transforming into a man. Who appears to be a severely injured macao. As Natsu and Lucy are surprised by this, they wonder if macao was the monster the whole time. Happy thankfully explains that macao may have been taken over. Lucy questions what he means, so happy elaborates, explaining that Vulcans survive by taking over people's bodies, using an innate possession spell their kind have. Happy finishes calling them evil body snatchers. Getting over their shock they get a pack of medical supplies from natsu's pack and move macao so they can treat his wounds.
"Looks like he put up a good fight before that vulcan finally got to him" happy says looking at the injuries
"Come on macao, don't you die on me, romeo's waiting for you" natsu says as he begins to stir awake, his eyes opening slightly.
"Hmph natsu" macao says as he gains some awareness
"Man i'm so pathetic, i defeated 19 of those things before the 20th got me, so angry with myself, em embarrassed to go home and face romeo."
"Come on man you beat 19 monsters, Lets go home, your little boy's been waiting for you" natsu says as he extends his hand to macao who takes it in his.
'Incredible, there were 19 more of those beasts and he took them on by himself' lucy thinks as she watches Natsu lift macao up and help him walk. Getting up to gather their supplies the group starts walking home.
It's nearing sunset in Magnolia, and Romeo was currently sitting on some steps thinking about what happened a week ago. Romeo was getting teased by some older kids who were insulting fairy tail. The kids called them a bunch of jokes and drunken cowards, saying they'd rather become knights when they grow up and not some dumb wizards. Upset by all this, Romeo remembers how he went running to his dad and begged him to take a job so the teasing would stop and how his dad agreed with a smile. Trying to rub the tears from his eyes he hears a voice call his name.
"Hey Romeo"
Looking up he sees Natsu happy, and that new girl lucy. Beside Natsu he sees his dad covered in bandages. With new tears welling up in his eyes he takes off running towards them.
"Daaad" Romeo screams as he tackles macao to the ground. Crying into his fathers shoulder he continues "you came back, i so sorry dad"
"No im sorry for making you worry" macao says as he gives romeo a big hug
"I can handle it, cause i'm a wizards son" romeo responds still crying
"Next time those bullies pick on you here's what I want you to say, can your old man defeat 19 monsters all by himself, cause mine can" he says as he wipes his son's tears.
Natsu begins to walk away with a smile on his face, happy and lucy following. As they do, Romeo turns around calling out to them.
"natsu, happy, thanks for your help"
"No probe kiddo" "aye"
Yelling out again Romeo calls out to lucy with a smile. "Lucy, thanks for helping them bring my daddy back to me"
Macao is waving them goodbye as the trio head back to the guild. When they get there a few of the others are waiting for them. Lucy is curly thinking back on the day they just had, thinking of what she'll write in her diary.
'July 4th, it was a sunny day followed by a blizzard but it ended up sunny again. I'll admit that the people in fairy tail are crazy, but they are also warm hearted, nice and a lot of fun to be around. I know I'm still a newcomer around here but I can't help it, I already love this guild.'

In case you haven't noticed i plan on using inspirations from other fantasy works like DnD with natsu using signature monk abilities like the stunning strike and fury of blows. Also plan on making the dragon slayer like the ascendant dragon monks
feel free to give ideas on what other fairy tail character's would be classes of, DnD or Pathfinder cause I would like to use those for more inspiration and changes. I've already used some other things like taurus being a barbarian. Also i have the idea of horologiums true power being that of a clockwork tower from pathfinder, wouldn't that be cool.
