Hello my fellow readers. Hope you all are doing well. To clarify, welcome to the first part of the Season 2 Finale of Crystal Rainbow. Never thought I would make it this far and for those who have stuck with me at this point, I'm happy to know you've been enjoying my creativity.

Now. Let's finish this with a bang!

Episode 39: Taking A Stand

September 30th 10:00 a.m.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

The clock on the wall made it's repeated rhythm. The rest of the room was silent with rays of light shining from the windows. A gentle breeze made it's way in accompanied by the chirps of many birds, but that alone couldn't help those who are deeply troubled.

Within the room Kameron and Steven sat down on a long couch. Both placed their eyes at the carpet below. Neither one spoke when they came in and merely held their arms as they took their seats.

Sitting across from the boys was a young light-skinned woman with blonde hair in a ponytail and brown eyes. The woman wore black-framed glasses with a light-blue collared shirt, a white jacket, blue jeans, and baby-blue shoes. In her hands the woman held a clipboard in her left and a pen in her right.

"Good morning, boys. My name is Dr. Waybright. I am very excited to meet you both. Now, since this is our very first session, how about we start with getting to know each other first?" Dr. Waybright said kindly.

Both boys slowly turned their head away. Kameron slowly increased the grip of his hands on his shoulders while Steven slowly dragged his hands across his arms until they touched one another. Once they touched Steven intertwined his fingers together as he placed them onto his lap. Neither of the two answered the doctor, making her close her eyes as she let out a sigh.

"Kameron. How about we start with you. Would you care to tell me what's on your mind?" Dr. Waybright said softly.

"Is that a mandatory question, Dr. Waybright?" Kameron replied without much emotion.

"Boys...please. I understand that this is the first time we've met, but I truly do care about the both of you. I've been helping your families for a long, long time whenever they need an ear to listen to them. And now, I want to do the same for you. It isn't healthy to keep your problems to yourselves and lock them away. You both have the choice to speak and open up. I'm not going to force you to reveal your private thoughts, but I can't help you unless you let me. Please?" Dr. Waybright said softly and warmly.

The tone in her voice was...comforting. Kameron turned his head to the doctor, whom placed her clipboard and pen down on the table. Closing his eyes he sucked in some air into his nose and exhaled it out of his mouth. He began to speak. Telling her about the Off Colors, how they were under the influence of Home World, and what had happened to them once they were defeated. The explanations were slow as Kameron went into great detail about his encounter with the Rutile Twins and what he had been told by his siblings. When getting to being a puppet for Selenite and Celestite, he...was a bit hesitant at first, but managed to tell her the best way he could.

"...And after that, Kambaba destroyed the pillar." Kameron finished.

Dr. Waybright blinked at him twice. Raising her hand she placed it onto her mouth as she stared at him. "...My, gosh... That's...so horrible." She said, nearly whispering.

"Yeah... It is." Kameron replied as he adverted his eyes from her. "But now, It's giving me more of a reason to keep going. Home World will try to colonize this planet again, and I'm gonna make sure those genocidal dictators never accomplish that."

Removing her hand from her mouth Dr, Waybright turned her attention onto Steven. "Steven. Now it's your turn."

Steven shut his eyes as his lips slowly quivered. Tightening his hands he sucked in some air into his mouth and out of his nose. Slowly opening his eyes he turned his head to the doctor. A large gulp went down his throat as he slowly opened his mouth. "I...didn't...I didn't want...t-t-t-to hurt anyone. But I was forced to and...now...I have to live with that."

Tears began to form in his eyes as they slowly dripped down onto his cheeks. Small sniffles exited out of him as he wiped away his tears.

"You both don't have to continue with this." Dr. Waybright said. "You both are still so young. Too young to be going out fighting monsters and carry the entire planet on your shoulders."

Wiping the rest of his tears away Steven shook his head at the doctor. "No... No, as much as I would want to do that, I can't. Like my big brother, I've got responsibilities that I need to face. We both wanted to do this since the beginning, but we were in over our heads as to what we were getting ourselves into. Kameron has his reasons to keep going. For me, I want to protect my home. I know that the Home World Gems won't listen to what I have to say about their ways, but I'm still going to protect the home and the people I love."

"Are you sure about that?" Dr. Waybright asked.

Steven nodded. "Yes, ma'am. In my own personal opinion, I would prefer if we never fight. But I can't control reality and that isn't how the real world works. So, I have to fight. To protect what matters the most."

Dr. Waybright then turned her attention onto Kameron. "I suppose there's nothing I can say to change your mind?"

Kameron shook his head. "There isn't, Dr. Waybright. Talking with you has helped a little, but the damage has already been done. And I have to finish this or it'll gnaw at me for the rest of my life."

Dr. Waybright picked up her clipboard and pen as she started writing. Both of the boys watched her quietly as she then placed her clipboard down. "I see... Well, then if you boys truly believe in your goals and desires to achieve them, then do the best you can. But please don't let it be your only mindset. Both of you matter to others. Your friends, your families, and even normal people like me care about your well-beings and your health. Any dreams you have or interests that you're passionate about should never be thrown away. You can still have a normal life. Understand?"

Kameron and Steven looked at their doctor while blinking. Hearing this from her felt a lot different than hearing it from their families. Yes, it is her job description, but the words and the way she said them felt very...genuine. Very comforting in a sense.

*BEEP! BEEP!*

An echo of beeps suddenly entered everyone's ears. Gasps exited out of their mouths as Dr. Waybright stood up from her chair and went toward her desk. At the very center there was a timer in the shape of a duckling, shaking it's head and tail-feathers. Placing her palm on it's head the timer stopped before she turned herself around to the boys.

"It looks like our time together is up." She informed.

With that said Kameron and Steven stood up from the couch and grabbed their backpacks from the sides.

"Before you boys go, I would like to give you both something." Dr Waybright said.

Approaching her desk the boys watched as she went around it and opened up a small drawer. Reaching her hand into it she then pulled it out and closed her drawer before presenting her hand to her patients. Opening it there were two things at the center of her palm: One was a small red frog while the other was twin swords held together. Both were also connected by two small chains.

"Whoa. Those look so cool." Steven said as he reached out to take the frog chain.

"Never seen key-chains like these before. Are they special edition?" Kameron asked as he took the twin swords.

"Yeah. I have a friend who has a very wild imagination and she was able to turn most of her ideas into key-chains. Plus I've got another friend who really likes the frog. She use to hate them, but after a while she grew to love them." Dr. Waybright explained.

"Thank you." Steven replied as he and Kameron put their key-chains in their pockets.

"You're welcome. Now, I'll be seeing you both next week. Be careful out there and remember what we talked about today." Dr. Waybright said as she grinned.

"We will." Kameron replied as he and Steven walked out the door.

September 30th 4:30 p.m.

*RING RING*

The final bell. Sixth Period is now officially over and it was time for another day at Dewey High School to end.

Grabbing his backpack Kameron walked out of the classroom and into the crowded halls. Getting over to the side he managed to make it to the next hallway that wasn't too crowded and make his way to his locker. Opening it up he unzipped his backpack and placed the things he didn't need in while getting out the things he really needed for homework out. With that taken care of he turned his head to his erase-board.

Taking his hand he flipped over the occupied board to an open spaced one and brought up a gray marker.

Stupid question to ask, but are you okay? - Z asked telepathically.

'How do you think I feel?' Kameron replied telepathically. 'We were forced to fight comrades. And after beating them they were shattered by those Control Collars.'

Yeah. Home World has definitely stepped up their game. Makes me wonder what else they've got up their sleeves. You better let me have some fun with them the next time they show up. - Z said.

'You'll get your chance.' Kameron replied as he placed his marker down and closed his locker.

"Yo! Badass!"

Turning his head Kameron saw his friends walking up to him. The sight of them... Kameron's lips stretched into a grin...but...with everything going on at the moment...the very sight of his friends made his heart get heavy by the day.

"Hey...guys." Kameron said weakly.

"So...uh...how was therapy?" Lars asked as they all started walking.

"It was the first day, so...me and Steven just told Dr. Waybright what's been going on." Kameron replied truthfully.

"Are you okay?" Angela asked worriedly.

"Physically, yeah. Mentally and emotionally...is another story. And it's been really hard on Steven." Kameron replied.

"I can only imagine." Scarlett said worriedly.

"You know we're here for you if you wanna talk about it." Sadie added. "That's what friends are for."

"Thanks, guys." Kameron replied as they made their way outside.

Walking over to the parking lot the group of friends approached a K11-10,000. The latest and most popular car out right now. Green and white paint-job with silver custom-made rims, faster than fifty cheetahs running through the African Plains, a lot of space to fit seven people in, and a Angel's Tears bumper sticker.

"I still can't believe you got the K11-10,000, Kameron. It's the spiritually successor to the Dondai Supremo." Ronaldo said excitedly as everyone got in.

"Yeah, I've heard about them. Gotta say, it's design isn't half-bad. Plus I think it's "super power" makes it stand out from other vehicles." Kameron replied as he placed on his seat-belt.

"TOTALLY! They even put it in the new Angel's Tears game." Ronaldo yelled before he sat back in his seat. "I can't wait until they add it in the anime."

"You sure? I've read the manga and you know how adaptations go." Lars said as Kameron started the engine.

"Even if it's for a brief second it'll be worth it." Ronaldo replied.

The girls merely shook their heads in amusement.

September 30th 6:00 p.m.

"Done!"

At the Evans Residence Kameron and his friends sat at the dining room while leaning back in their chairs. Each of them let out a heavy sigh from the amount of homework they needed to complete.

"Geez! Already the end of the first month of school and I'm so worn out." Lars said.

"Well...no-one said that being Juniors was gonna be easy." Sadie replied as she reached out for her drink. Taking a few gulps she then placed it back onto the coaster. "Still...at least when the seven of us are together it's a little easier."

"No kidding." Angela said. She then turned her eyes onto Kameron. "Kameron, can I ask you something?"

"What's on your mind?" Kameron replied.

"I've been reading The Rebellion Book whenever I had spare time and...I honestly can't believe your family and Steven's went though all of that. And...I've been a little curious about a woman in it named Rose Quartz. Who is she?" Angela said as she sat up in her chair.

Sitting up in his chair Kameron placed his arms on the table and intertwined his hands together. "She's my aunt." He began, "She is the founding member and leader of the Crystal Gems. She was a defective Rose Quartz and grew curious about the Earth after being born. Overtime she grew to love the planet and begged her superior, Pink Diamond, to spare it. However...that never happened."

"What do you mean?" Ronaldo asked as everyone listened to the story.

"According to my dad, Pink was...complicated. Acting like a spoiled child; Entitled to everything. She begged to have her own colony from the other Diamonds. They told her she wasn't ready, but she kept insisting, and eventually my dad gave in and convinced the others to let her have a planet as long as she was willing to put in the work. Overtime she was severely stressed right as my aunt pleaded for her to stop. Pink refused as she saw humans as inferior to them and reminded her of The Cause." Kameron continued.

"The Cause? What's that?" Chelsea asked.

"Not sure. Whenever I asked dad about it he told me he'll explain it when the time is right." Kameron replied. "And so Rose Quartz made the choice to fight back. Inspired other Gems to stand with her and together alongside my family, they killed Pink and have been protecting the world ever since."

"Is...she still around?" Scarlett asked.

Kameron shook his head. "She died after Steven was born. I don't remember her that much since I was a baby, just heard a lot of things about her, but...I wish I did meet her."

The atmosphere slowly became melancholic. Truthfully, Kameron did wish he could've met her if he was a little older. But he never had the chance. Even so, her memory is still fresh and to this very day the Crystals and Greg miss her. Steven never met her at all, but carries her sword and shield to continue what she left behind.

"There's something else that I want to get off my chest." Kameron said softly. "I...just want to let you guys know that...you're the greatest friends I've ever had. The best I could ever ask for. I wanted you all to know that. That's the truth from the bottom of my heart and soul."

His friends stared at him as their eyes blinked.

"Uh...what's with the mushy stuff, Badass?" Chelsea asked.

"I just wanted to be honest with you all. And...because soon, things are gonna get intense. I am glad I met you all." Kameron replied softly.

Scarlett then raised herself up from her seat, "That's very sweet of you Kameron. But...what you said to us just now...sounds like a good-bye."

"Yeah. What's going on?" Sadie asked as she stood up.

Kameron shook his head. Just as he opened his mouth to speak again a loud ring entered everyone's ears. Reaching into his pocket Kameron pulled out his phone to see a large Gem symbol flashing. Pressing on it an image of a large hand appeared, approaching Earth's atmosphere.

Kameron's eyes narrowed as he placed his phone back into his pocket. Raising his head he looked at each of his friends whom gave him concerned expressions.

"What's wrong?" Angela asked.

"You all need to get out of the city." Kameron replied firmly.

"WHAT!?" Kameron's friends yelled.

"Listen. Home World, the planet my family and Steven came from, are sending a weapon to kill us. You all need to get the hell out of Beach City and Destiny City. I'm sure an evacuation is already getting started." Kameron explained.

Right on cue, each of Kameron's friends' phones rang, making them reach for them as a video popped up on their screens.

"Attention citizens of Beach City and Destiny City! A Gem-structural object has been notified to us by Green Diamond, and has been spotted descending from Earth's atmosphere, approaching Beach City! Evacuations have been authorized! Return to your families immediately and exit each area at once! This is not a drill! Please understand, this is not a drill!" Mayor Dewey announced.

Without a second thought Kameron raised his right arm out, summoning Venganza and placing her onto his back. "Here." He added as several Warp Whistles were brought out of his Gemstone. "Take these."

Each one of his friends walked up to him as they took one from his hand.

"What are these?" Ronaldo asked.

Warp Whistles. If you guys have visualized or remember a certain place in your memories, blow the whistle and you'll be taken there in a flash." Kameron explained.

"Can we keep them?" Chelsea asked.

"Don't care. Just evacuate. I'm heading to Beach City." Kameron replied as he made his way to the front door.

"Wait!" Scarlett called, making him stop to look at her. "Please be careful. Okay?"

Kameron nodded as he made his way out the door before closing it back. As he left his friend placed their Warp Whistles into their mouths and blew into them, teleporting from the house.

September 30th 6:30 p.m.

Running through the sidewalk Kameron brought out his own Warp Whistle and blew into it immediately. In a split second he was brought near the Universe Residence where everyone else was.

"Guys!" Kameron called out.

"Kameron." Green said as his son approached him.

"Did mom and Uncle Greg leave already?" Kameron asked.

"They just left." Green informed as he turned his eyes toward the hand in the sky. "For now, our attention is on that."

"We've got this!" Amethyst said.

Turning her head to Pearl both of them spun toward one another as she jumped into her arms. In a flash they merged into Opal and summoned her bow. Pulling her string back a large light arrow erupted before she fired it directly at the hand. As the arrow was coming to it the hand lifted itself up, causing the arrow to hit the palm while doing no damage.

"Nothing!" Opal yelled as she split apart.

"Let's try the Quartizine Quartet." Steven called out. Turning around he ran toward the large pink cannons near the house. Once he got near them he took a deep breath, "If every pork-chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs!" On cue the four cannons lifted themselves up and fired at the hand. The energy blast from each cannon created a silhouette of Rose as they targeted the hand. Once again the attack hit the palm, doing no damage.

"Still nothing!?" Pyrope yelled.

"The metal must be extremely durable." Amber called out.

"Then it appears that no amount of physically force can penetrate it from the outside." Green replied.

"What do we do now, daddy?" Lepidolite asked.

"I'm afraid our only option, sweetheart, is for that ship to land and handle whoever is inside of it." Green replied.

Everyone turned their eyes onto Green as he said this. But just as anyone attempted say anything else the hand ship was coming in close. It then stopped in the middle of the air and turned itself onto it's back before dropping onto the beach. At the center of the palm a large sphere erupted out of it before rolling itself onto the index finger, making it drop down.

The sphere opened itself up and a Gem walked out of it. The Gem was large with long white bushy hair. She was orange-skinned with yellow eyes while wearing a brown battle suit equipped with a small cape. Her Gemstone was located at the bridge of her eyes were her nose as suppose to be. The next Gem after her was Peridot and after her was Lapis, only her hands and ankles were bound in chains.

"Well, well, well. Green Diamond. I honestly never thought today would be the day we get to officially meet." The large Gem said with a grin.

"I highly suggest you leave this planet immediately and release Lapis Lazuli this instant." Green replied firmly.

The large Gem snickered. "After all this time. After abandoning your own kind and losing sight of The Cause, that is what concerns you?"

"I am a Diamond by name. I've abandoned that title." Green said as he took a step forward. "I am also well aware of what Home World has done to the Off Colors. That alone shall not be forgotten. And I will not ask again," He added as he raised his right arm. Guardian was brought out of his Gemstone and Her hilt was then placed within Green's hand, "Release Lapis and leave this planet. Earth will never be colonized as long as we are here to stop you."

Behind him the rest of the Rainbows and the Crystals summoned their weapons and stood side by side next to Green.

The large Gem glared at them as she tightened her fists. "I am greatest Jasper that has ever been born into existence. Yellow Diamond has acknowledged me as the best in her army. I've fought the best and have always won no matter the risk. It's pretty clear that YOU have forgotten why we have our duties and what is at risk as of now. For that, I will show you what Home World is now capable of."

Jasper's Gemstone glowed and a sphere of light emerged out of it. The sphere then started to morph and stretched into a large cylinder shape. The light around it began to dim as it was then placed onto her right arm. The light around it began to dim, revealing it's strange silver metal plating. Raising her other arm she grasped her hand onto the device, aiming it directly at Green.

In a flash, a massive burst of energy fired out of the device. Without wasting a second Green slammed Guardian into the sand, summoning a large crystal barrier in front of himself and the others. As the blast was coming up to them it then connected with the barrier. On impact cracks immediately began to appear all over it right until the barrier completely broke, causing the blast to continue it's momentum.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

One by one... Amber. Azurite. Pyrope. Citrine. Charoite. Lepidolite. Onyx. Pearl. Garnet. Amethyst. Bismuth.

The blast slowly began to fade and disappeared. Grunts exited out of Kameron's mouth as he slowly raised himself up. His eyes rapidly shot open the moment he opened them. Next to him Steven was weakly picking himself up, but quickly grunted and dropped down. However...his siblings and the Crystals...their Gemstones were laying in the sand. As for his father, he was standing in the same spot where he put up the barrier.

"Dad." Kameron called as he turned himself around and slowly picked himself up. His father released Guardian from his hand as he fell onto his knees.

*POOF*

Right in from of him...Green poofed. His Gemstone then fell into the sands of the beach.

"Now that's what real power looks like. A weapon strong enough to poof a Diamond." Jasper said as she lowered her arm.

Peridot smirked as she witnessed the devastation in front of her. Though the amount of destruction was indeed illogical, it still gave her a sense of satisfaction. 'Such ignorant fools. Especially you, Green Diamond. You should've never started this from the very beginning.' She thought to herself.

Lapis... She fell onto her knees at the destruction brought upon by Jasper. Tears swelled in her eyes and slowly fell onto her cheeks. 'No... No,no,no,no,no! Why...? Why did this have to happen? How much more do I have to endure, Blue Diamond?' She thought to herself as more tears fell.

Steven managed to pick himself up from the sands, but as he did he gasped at the horror in front of him. Turning his head he saw Kameron standing in the sands. He couldn't tell what he was feeling at the moment, but after what had just happened...did they still have a chance to win?

"Hmph. I don't like dealing with scraps. But I guess these Organics really are something else entirely. The sons of Green Diamond and Rose Quartz. But I doubt-" Jasper said before getting cut off.

A large burst of wind erupted around the area. A large green aura soon engulfed itself around Kameron. Lifting his head he gritted his teeth as he glared at Jasper. His eyes fully glowed green as he tightened his fists. His skin began to turn light-green as it was slowly getting covered by green crystals. His face was over completely covered in green crystals, leaving only his eyes. Opening his mouth large crystal teeth opened themselves as he lifted his head to the skies.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Jasper smiled at him as she summoned her crash helmet. "Good. Make this interesting for me."

Putting his head down Kameron raised his right arm out, causing a crystal tendril to shoot out of his palm. The tendril went toward the sands and grabbed Venganza's hilt before dragging her through the sands and placing her back into Z's hand.

"I think now is a good time as any to show you exactly who you're messing with." Z informed.

In a split second he dashed forward while raising up Venganza. Jasper did the same as she raised her own head up. As the two were coming in close Z slashed at her while Jasper brought her head down.

*CRACK*

With sword and helmet colliding Venganza's upper blade broke apart. Jasper then raised her fist, slamming it right at Z's face and cracking his crystals. Pushing him back Z's feet slid across the sands as he lowered his body.

"I've fought sword wielders before. Is this really all that the spawn of Green Diamond is capable of?" Jasper said as she walked toward him.

Raising his arm Z looked down at Venganza. She was a good sword. She always did what Kameron and him wanted her to do. She always did the best she could, but now...it looks like she can't go on anymore. Pulling her hilt back into his Gemstone, Z looked at Jasper and launched himself into the air. Spinning his body forward he launched his left leg out, aiming it right at Jasper's head.

Ducking her head Jasper's crash helmet blocked the attack, but then Z flipped himself over and used his other leg to swipe it at her neck. A small grunt left Jasper's mouth as she turned around to see Z coming up to her with crystal claws. Launching them right at her Z's claws were then caught by Jasper's arms. She then lifted him in the air, crushing his arms and making him scream.

"How pathetic. You can do better then that. But I guess I shouldn't be expecting anything from a worthless Organic." Jasper said.

Pulling her head back she then slammed it right at Z, completely shattering his crystal covered face and knocking him out.

"NOOOOOO!"

Releasing Z from her grip Jasper turned her attention to Steven, whom was sprinting towards her with tears in his eyes. Coming up to her he thrusted his blade forward, but Jasper simply moved to the side before grabbing his neck. Adding some extra pressure Steven scream and dropped his sword while his shield disappeared.

"How disappointing. Rose Quartz was surely better than this. But you? Her spawn? You're even weaker than she was." Jasper said as she dismissed her helmet. "Accept it. Today. You. Have. Lost." She added as she slammed her head into Steven's face.

Tossing him to the ground Jasper turned her eyes onto Peridot and Lapis. "Our mission is complete. We're going back."

"What!? But what about my mission?" Peridot complained.

"You can do it once we bring the traitors to the Authority." Jasper replied as she walked up to Lapis. "There was nothing these traitors could do. Any amount of hope you had left is gone."

Lapis glared at her as she turned her head away.

'No...'

To Be Continued.

End of Episode 39. Hope you all enjoyed the beginning portion of the Season 2 Finale. To be honest, I was gonna make this two-parter into a single chapter, but I decided against it.

Now, for those who might wonder why I deleted The Axe and Shield. It wasn't because of a lack of attention or the reviews it got. It was because I've got a lot on my mind and I want to finish a current story first before starting a new one. I'm sorry for it's deletion, but rest assure, it will come back soon.
