Episode 48: Seething Wrath

October 24th 12:00 a.m.

Up above the world so high, the stars shined brightly in the sky alongside their friend the moon. Normally, there aren't that many people up this late or out and about. You are either in the comfort of your own bed being drifted away into the dream world, at your job that requires you to stay up this late, or you are more of a night owl. Unfortunately, tonight isn't like any other night.

Passing through the streets a sleek black car with red streaks rushed through the road. Inside the car was Pyrope, gripping the wheel while his eyes were deadly focused on the road. With every second passing by his eyes began to narrow as his grip tightened. His teeth gritted themselves as he made a quick turn and increased his speed.

Right beside him was a dark-skinned young woman with long braided hair and brown eyes. She wore a short white T-shirt with dark blue skinny jeans and black sneakers. Her ears were pierced with small silver earrings accompanied by a green crystal necklace. The woman tightly gripped on the safety bar at the speed they were going while constantly looking at both Pyrope and the road. As much as would tell him to slow down, this wasn't the best time for it given the situation going on at the moment.

Taking another turn Pyrope began to slowly remove his foot from the accelerator and brought the car to a complete stop while apply the brake. With the car stopping he closed his eyes and sucked in some air into his nose before slowly exhaling it out of his mouth. His grip on the wheel began to decrease as he reopened his eyes and turned his attention to the woman next to him.

"Didn't mean to go that fast. You okay?" He said.

The woman nodded, "Yeah." She then removed her hand from the safety bar and locked eyes with Pyrope. "I don't like this. We shouldn't do this, Pyrope."

"I know, Claire. I don't like this either, and if there was another way I would take it, but they made it personal. We gotta play by their rules for now." Pyrope said as he unbuckled himself.

"What about calling your sister? Tell her what's going on and the cops will be here in less than five minutes." Claire said as she unbuckled herself.

"If only. He said if the cops come then it ain't gonna end well. Even if I told her in advance that still wouldn't work." Pyrope replied as his Gemstone began to glow. From it came a large bag that slowly fell onto his lap. Opening it he nodded and turned his eyes back on Claire, "We give him what he wants, then he'll let the girls go."

"Where did you even get that much-" Claire said before stopping herself. Her eyes blinked as she looked at Pyrope's necklace, "Oh...right. Your family is loaded."

Soon both Pyrope and Claire got out the car. As they did Pyrope handed her the keys before they started walking side by side. With his left hand gripping on the bag straps and his right hand intertwined with Claire's, a calm breeze blew right onto him, but right then and there it wasn't gonna last long.

Step after step the two walked pass a large shipping crate and slowly came up to their destination. To their left, a large open space of water with it's tides rising up and hitting the rocky wall in it's path. To their right, more shipping crates and several cranes inoperative. Straight ahead, the main reason why they showed up in the first place.

At the center of the area was a large dark-skinned man wearing a black suit equipped with red boxing gloves. On each of his sides were various teenage boys wearing white T-shirts with a raging bull head at the center. One particular teenage boy instantly glared at him, though Pyrope paid no attention to him and instead locked his eyes onto the two girls in front of the large man.

"Well, well, well. Right on time. And it looks like you brought what we agreed on." The large man said with a rough deep voice.

Approaching the man and his group Pyrope released his hand from Claire's and threw the bag at the large man. "Here. A deal's a deal. Let the girls go." Pyrope replied firmly.

Opening the bag the man snickered at the insides and closed it up before looking back at Pyrope, "Truer words have never been spoke." He added as he pushed one of the girls to Pyrope.

Claire immediately ripped off the tape on the girl's mouth right as she untangled the rope around her body. Once freed the girl immediately wrapped her arms around her, sobbing right into Claire's shoulder. "It's okay, it's okay. You're safety now." Claire whispered softly.

"I'm afraid I'll have to keep the sister though." The man said, placing a hand on the other girl's shoulder.

"What!?" Pyrope said. "That wasn't the deal!"

"Where's the rest?" The man simply asked.

"What do you mean "Where's the rest?" It's all there." Pyrope said angerly.

"True. But this is the amount for one of them. If you wanted both you should've doubled the amount from the start." The man said as he grinned. "But...I'm more than willing to let you have the other girl if you train me again."

Pyrope's eyes glared at the man. His hands slowly balled into fists as steam began to erupt from his body. His eyes glowed a burning red as his teeth began to grit. This wasn't the deal. This isn't what they agreed to. It was stupid of Pyrope to believe that this was gonna end calmly and reasonably, but he was horribly wrong. That alone is a grave mistake. It's fine for him to be wrong, but not when double-crossed.

"Gorlab. I gave you my trust a long time ago...and you broke it so many times that I actually forgot the exact number. I gave you so many chances and you always broke them. You broke my rules, my trust, and you broke my code of boxing. That wasn't why I taught you to box. After what you did to your opponent, it was the right call to give up on you, especially now with what you're doing with yourself." Pyrope said as his fists ignite and fire soon engulfed them. "I'm only going to say this once. Let the girl go and I'll go easy on you. Otherwise, I'll send each and every one of you on the express route to hell."

Gorlab soon released his grip from the other girl and narrowed his eyes. Without warning he dashed forward, raising his fist up and aiming it right at Pyrope's face. With the fist coming straight toward him the flames Pyrope ignited quickly extinguished before he moved his head out of the way. Reeling his fist back Gorlab began throwing various punches at him. Each one missing it's mark and making him growl from every miss. Taking a step back Gorlab dashed at him once more, only as he did Pyrope chose to do the same.

As Pyrope did he reeled his fist back and sent it flying right into Gorlab's stomach. On impact Gorlab's eyes shot open with spit falling out of his mouth. Pyrope soon delivered a barrage of punches at his face with each punch hitting him harder than the last. More and more groans left Gorlab as he slowly walked back just as another punch targeted his forehead. Heavy breaths exited his mouth as he continued to glare at Pyrope.

"Had enough?" Pyrope asked.

"That all you got? You really think you can take me down? This buffalo ain't gonna be tamed so easily." Gorlab replied as he spit out some blood.

With the remaining strength he had Gorlab ran forward, screaming his lungs out as he reeled his arm back before launching it straight on. Without adverting his eyes away from him or even dodging the up and coming attack, Pyrope reeled his fist back and sent it right toward Gorlab's punch. Coming in both punches soon collided with each other, but as they did several bones pierced right out of Gorlab's arm.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Gorlab wailed and fell onto his knees.

All around them Claire held onto the first girl and didn't fully expect an outcome like that. Gorlab's boys watched in horror at the injury inflicted on their boss. Was this Pyrope's true strength? Was this what happens when you push him this far?

"You bastard! You broke my-" Gorlab screamed just as he got cut off.

Reeling his arm back Pyrope sent his fist flying into Gorlab's jaw, sending huge ripples into his skin and sending him flying. Straight ahead the launch sent Gorlab crashing into a shipping container before his body moved over toward the water, causing a large splash.

With their boss swimming with the fishes his boys watched as Pyrope slowly approached them before turning around and running for the hills. Coming up to the other girl Pyrope got down onto one knee before placing his hand on the rope, burning her constraints and slowly removing the tape from her mouth.

"You okay?" Pyrope asked softly.

The girl's eyes swelled with tears. She jumped to him, wrapping her arms around his waist and sobbing on his shoulder. Without saying another word Pyrope wrapped his arms around her.

October 26th 4:00 p.m.

At the Sky Arena Pyrope stood on the opposite side with crossed arms. On the other side was Connie with her hair tied in a ponytail, exercise wraps on her hands and feet, and wore a purple sleeveless vest and shorts. Off at the stand Kameron, Steven, and Amethyst sat down with their eyes locked on the two.

"You joined our flock, but that doesn't mean you're gonna become a guardian of the planet in a snap. So...for your very first lesson...let's see what you're capable of." Pyrope said as he turned his body while raising his arms.

"Pyrope. I don't want to sound disrespectful, but shouldn't I have a weapon with me?" Connie asked.

Pyrope shook his head. "In a fight you aren't always gonna have one with you. You only use weapons when the situation calls for it. Other than that, you need to use your body. Humans can't easily hurt Gems or Corrupted with ease, but I want to see what you got without a weapon first, Maheswaran."

Connie nodded her head as she turned her body while rising her arms. Closing her eyes she sucked in some air before exhaling it out of her mouth. Reopening her eyes she narrowed and ran toward Pyrope. As she got close she reeled her arm back and soon sent it flying toward Pyrope's stomach. On impact she hissed and looked up at his serious expression. Reeling her arm back she threw another punch, giving him no damage.

Taking a step back she quickly stepped forward, leaping into the air and throwing a fist right into his cheek. Landing back on the ground she hissed while slightly waving her hand. Looking back up Pyrope stepped forward, sending his fist right into her stomach. On impact Connie's eyes shot open and small amounts of spit exited out of her mouth. Removing his fist Pyrope stepped back with Connie wrapping her arms around her stomach and falling onto her knees.

"How did that feel?" Pyrope asked firmly.

Connie coughed and groaned while tightening her grip on her stomach. "T-That...hurts..."

"It's suppose to." Pyrope said. "I'm not the kind of guy who enjoys hitting kids, but only to those who act out or get in serious trouble. When Kameron became a Rainbow Gem he went through the same treatment, so you will go through the same thing. Understand?"

Connie looked up at him as her eyes narrowed. She slowly removed her arms from her stomach and raised herself up. The pain she feels is the first taste of experiencing a real fight. Raising her arms she ran straight to Pyrope, screaming into the air with her arm reeled back and throwing it right at him. Reeling his own arm back Pyrope curved it below his waist and sent it straight into Connie's stomach once more, just as her punch came into his.

Her eyes shot open again as he pushed her into the air and making her go airborne until she fell back onto the ground. Groans exited her mouths as she tightly closed her eyes and wrapping her arms around her stomach.

"Connie!" Steven yelled as he jumped from the stands and ran to her. Coming in close and dropping onto one knee he helped raise her up as she started coughing. "Are you okay?"

Opening her eyes she turned her head to Steven. Slowly turning her head to Pyrope she slowly picked herself up and raised her arms again. "C'mon. Let's go again."

Pyrope shook his head. "That's enough for today."

Lowering her arms Connie blinked at him. "What? No. No, please give me another chance. I can still fight."

Walking up to her Pyrope reached his arm out and grabbed her shirt. He then pulled her up to his face, making her lock eyes with him. "When I say we're done, we're done. This is your first day, so don't expect to get it right on the first try."

"Pyrope. Put her down, please." Steven said.

A huff left Pyrope's mouth as he placed Connie down. "I'm not being harsh on you for the sake of it. It's so you'll learn what we really do."

Connie nodded. "Yes, sir."

"Wow. Was Pyrope that rough when you were starting out?" Amethyst said to Kameron.

"Yeah. Same treatment." Kameron replied.

"Damn." Amethyst said.

"He's rough at times, but his lessons paid off. And this'll be good for Connie too." Kameron replied.

Amethyst opened her mouth again to speak, but loud rings soon entered everyone's ears. Pulling out their phones everyone saw the Gem App active and pressed on the icon. The icon then placed itself onto a specific location. Once the location was applied Pyrope's eyes shot open. Without a response he quickly summoned his Warp Whistle and blew into it, sending him off. Kameron soon summoned his Warp Whistle alongside Steven before they blew into them with Amethyst and Connie holding on for the ride.

October 26th 4:45 p.m.

In a flash the quintet arrived at their destination, Nouvelle Marais, Louisiana.

Upon arrival screams entered into the wind. Fire engulfed several buildings, people running for their lives, and most of the landscape was scorched. With his own eyes Pyrope stared at the very home he once knew getting burned and destroyed. The very sight of it immediately made his eyes glare at the destruction and ball his hands. His eyes then widened at a shadowed figure in the distance before they glared at it.

"You four go check out that thing and help as many people as you can." Pyrope announced.

"What are you gonna do?" Kameron replied.

"Gonna go check something real quick. I'll catch up." Pyrope said before running off.

Without a response the remaining four rushed ahead.

Picking up the pace Pyrope made his way through several people running in the opposite direction and quickly turned himself to another street. Shoving person after person in his way he stopped right at the very place he was looking for. Taking a few steps forward he soon halted himself as his eyes began to shake.

Right in front of him laid a massive fire. Within it was now burnt wood and metal, slowly turning into ash. Along with the wood and metal a horrid smell came into the air and small trails of blood started to leak out into the sewer drains.

His teeth clenched harder than before, nearly cracking each tooth. His eyes glared hard than ever before, with pupils glowing as bright as a flashlight. His hands gripped into his palms as tightly as they could, piercing through his body. The best place in town... One of the greatest places he had ever been to...was now gone.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Pyrope wailed.

On the other side of town several civilians kept running as fast as they could from the immediate danger. A mother and her child soon fell into the ground, but just as they attempt to recover a large piece of debris fell from above. Raising their heads the mother held onto her child as tightly as she could. In a flash both the mother and her child were then grabbed moments before the debris was about to crush them.

Opening her eyes the mother and child looked up to see Kameron holding both of them and helping them stand up.

"Run as far as you can from this place. Find any local police or medics, they'll help you if you got injured." Kameron said before storming off.

The shadowed figure from the horizon soon entered the center of the town. The creature was enormous with large red piercing eyes and three large red Gemstones embedded in it's body. It had large large claws and teeth with four pair of legs beneath it's waist alongside a swinging tail. Oddly enough there was a large black collar wrapped around it's neck and a figure standing right on it's shoulder.

Steven and Connie quickly helped an elderly couple get to safety with Amethyst pulling a puppy out of a burning building with her whip. Once that was done the trio along with Kameron made to the center of the town to witness the massive creature and the figure standing on it's shoulder.

"Wait a second..." Steven said as he squinted his eyes. "Is that...Jasper?"

"The Gem responsible for giving you and Kameron your scars?" Connie asked.

"That's her." Kameron replied, pulling Venganza off of his back.

With a grin across her lips, Jasper jumped from the creature's shoulder, landing right on the ground with a large thud. "Did you Organics miss me?" She asked.

"Why would we?" Steven replied summoning his shield while Connie pulled out his sword.

"*huff* I expected to see bigger numbers. No matter, this planet will be colonized. All of this could've been avoided if you had just surrendered, but then again, I enjoy handling weaklings who refuse to comply." Jasper said, cracking her knuckles.

"Oh, really? I think it's time we put you down for good." Amethyst said.

Bending her body over Amethyst rolled herself into a ball and dashed forward. Summoning her helmet Jasper pulled her leg back before swinging it forward. As Amethyst came forward Jasper stopped her in place and kicked her into the air. She then began to descend to the ground, but in midair she summoned another whip before lighting them up and rolling herself into a ball again, only this time it was much bigger.

*snap*

Jasper soon snapped her fingers, causing the collar on the Permafusion to light up. Lowering it's head it soon stretched it's arm out, grabbing Amethyst in midair and throwing her straight toward the ground. On impact several cracks stretched out with Amethyst laying down, groans leaving her mouth. As she tried getting up a sudden force of pressure was added onto her head, keeping her down.

"This is disappointing. Is this really the best you can do? Though I shouldn't expect much from a defect." Jasper said.

"WHAT?" Amethyst yelled.

"I've seen plenty of your type. You're a Quartz just like me, but unlike me you weren't born the way other Amethysts were. Defects have no place in the universe. They should've stayed in the ground." Jasper said, adding more pressure onto Amethyst's head.

Screams left Amethyst's mouth was she glared up at Jasper. "You don't know a damn thing about me. Rose told me I'm fine the way I am."

"Then it appears she had low standards." Jasper replied.

POOF!

With some added pressure Jasper crushed Amethyst's head, causing her to poof. Kameron, Steven, and Connie watched in silence as Jasper picked up Amethyst's Gemstone with a smirk.

Without wasting another second Kameron's Gemstone began to glow while Steven and Connie merged together, bringing Stevonnie out. In a surge of speed both of them rapidly kicked Jasper in the face, pushing her back and making her release Amethyst's Gemstone. Stevonnie quickly caught it in her free hand while Kameron dashed ahead, flipping his body over and kicking his leg out, cutting Jasper's arm off.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Jasper screamed.

Kameron soon flipped himself over, glaring intensely at Jasper with a wicked grin stretched across his lips. "That's payback from before, bitch."

Small grunts exited Jasper as she grasped onto her several arm. "What the rocks are you?"

"The name's Z. It'll be the last name you'll ever hear." Z replied.

"Great. An abomination and a Fusion?" Jasper sneered.

"I don't wanna hear another word out of your mouth. Unless it's an apology." Stevonnie said firmly, holding up Amethyst's Gemstone.

Jasper huffed as she removed her hand. Her eyes soon widened as she began to scream. Z and Stevonnie watched as Jasper's Gemstone began to glow and her several arm began to reform.

*snap*

With a snap of her newly made arm the Permafusion creature growled and began to move. Z and Stevonnie readied themselves, preparing to make a move on this beast.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR!"

The echoing screams instantly startled both Z and Stevonnie. Turning their heads around they both watched Pyrope rushing through the streets. With two axes in hand Pyrope leaped into the air at the Corrupted Permafusion. The creature reeled it's hand back and threw right into his path, but Pyrope rapid twisted his body, slashing the creature's fingers and landing right on it's hand. In an instant he dashed straight through the creature's arm. Straight ahead Pyrope leaped into the air and made his way to one of the Corrupted's Gemstones. Lifting his axes he soon slammed them right into the Gemstone, sending large cracks through it until it eventually broke apart.

POOF!

With one of the Gemstone's broken the entire Corrupted poofed, making Pyrope fall from the sky and land on the ground with a loud thud. The remaining Gemstone fell in front of him with the control collar now far behind. Looking down at them Pyrope raised his leg and stomped on the second one before turning his attention to the third, crushing it beneath his heel with little effort.

Dismissing his axes Pyrope turned his eyes onto Jasper, who froze at the very destruction displayed in front of her. He then turned his attention onto Z and Stevonnie, who shared the same reaction as Jasper.

"Z. I'm pissed off. Are you pissed off?" Pyrope asked angerly.

"Do you have to ask?" Z replied as he walked over to him.

Without saying another word both brother raised their hands up and clasped them onto one another. Both of their Gemstone began to glow violently and their bodies soon pushed themselves together, releasing a large flash. Jasper and Stevonnie covered their eyes as the flash continued, but soon the light began to dim and from it a new being came into existence.

The being was dark-skinned with long black hair made into dreadlocks. His right eye was green while his left eye was red. He was shirtless with well-formed abs while having on Kameron's white hoodie jacket, black jeans equipped with a belt, and white sneakers with flames streaks at the sides. Lastly he had a red Diamond Gemstone on his right wrist and a red Gemstone on his right pectoral muscle.

Raising his head the being looked at Jasper. His eyes slowly glared at her before his body slowly bent itself forward. In the blink of an eye he dashed forward, reeling his fist back and sending it straight into Jasper's face. The sheer force sent ripples through Jasper's cheek and pushed her back several feet away from him.

Jasper soon crashed into the ground, breaking through the concrete and having her body getting flipped over until she landed on her stomach. Grunts left her mouth as she slowly lifted herself up, glaring at the new Fusion that just owned her.

"Whoa. Who are you?" Stevonnie asked.

The new being turned his head to them, shooting a harsh glare and making them flinch. Just as they attempted to speak again Amethyst's Gemstone glowed and raised itself from Stevonnie's hand, quickly reforming herself and landing back on the ground.

"Guys! Guys! It's all good, I'm here. I'm-" Amethyst quickly said until her attention was placed on the new Fusion. "Who the hell is this guy?"

"Kameron and Pyrope fused." Stevonnie answered, making Amethyst gasp.

"It doesn't matter how many you are. You're not going to defeat me!" Jasper yelled.

She then rolled herself forward, turning herself into a ball and dashing ahead. The new being reeled his arm out as Jasper was coming for him before sending it right at her, stopping Jasper's roll and pushing her back several feet from him. Without giving her time to recover the new being rushed forward in a burst of speed. Coming in close he lifted his leg, kneeing Jasper's chin before sending another punch right after.

Crashing into the ground again Jasper quickly lifted herself up, but as she did the new being pulled his fist back and sent it straight at her stomach, pushing her far back from him and sending her straight into the swamp.

The new being released a long sigh as he straightened his body. Turning himself around his glare softened as he walked up to both Amethyst and Stevonnie.

"Um...do you...know who we are?" Stevonnie asked.

The new being nodded.

"Uh...what's your name?" Amethyst asked.

"My name is Bixbite." Bixbite replied with a rough yet calm voice.
