Episode 49: Clash Of The Titans
October 31st 7:30 a.m.
The sun raises itself from over the horizon, illuminating the planet with it's radiance. Though light has shined itself upon us, it doesn't negate the horrific actions that have transpired, nor the consequences with it. However, we all share different perspectives, so how we each handle the consequences greatly depends on the person in general.
On one side of the arena Amethyst stood tall with two whips in her palms. Her eyes were barely open as her body swayed back and forth. Her teeth gritted as she glared at the individuals in front of her blurry vision. Her hands increased the grip on her whips right as she shook her head and regained her focus.
On the other side of the arena stood Citrine and Bismuth. Both of them had no scratches nor any injuries inflicted on them. Both stared at Amethyst and the current state she placed herself in. For five whole days this has been going on non-stop from sunrise to sundown. With every attempt Amethyst gave it her all, but each outcome and conclusion resulted in defeat from beginning to end.
"Amethyst. I think this is as far as you'll go." Citrine said.
"What!?" Amethyst yelled. "C'mon! Another round!"
"Amethyst. I enjoy sparring with you as much as I enjoy it with Citrine, but it's pretty obvious that you're just using us as a distraction." Bismuth pointed out.
Amethyst's eyes widened at the statement, but they quickly narrowed themselves as she bent herself forward, rolling herself into a ball and increasing her size before shooting herself forward. Watching her come right at them Citrine and Bismuth stood their ground. Raising their hands up both reeled their arms back just as Amethyst got close to them before hurling them head on. On impact Amethyst got pushed back, unraveling herself from her ball form as crashing into the ground...again.
Small groans exited from Amethyst's mouth as she slowly raised herself up. Her eyes slowly opened to the sight of Citrine and Bismuth standing right in front of her. Right as she opened her mouth to speak Citrine raised his hand out, grabbing her head and lifting her up.
"C-C'mon. Is that really all you two got? Another... Another round." Amethyst groaned.
Citrine shook his head, "No. That's enough. I get that you're upset, but pushing yourself this much isn't gonna help anyone."
Amethyst's eyes soon glared at him. "What?! You sayin' I'm not strong enough? You sayin' I can't beat you? Let's go again and I'll kick your ass!"
Citrine soon narrowed his eyes at her and threw her toward the ground. "I didn't say anything like that! And we're well aware you've got this grudge against Jasper, but that doesn't mean you have to push yourself this much! Don't let her get in your head. You're strong, but through your own way."
Amethyst scoffed as she lifted herself up. "That doesn't make me feel better."
"Look, Amy. We're gonna get that brute no matter what. Believe me, I want nothing more than a rematch with that Upper-Crust, but taking out my frustrations on others ain't gonna make it any better. Understand?" Bismuth replied.
Amethyst slowly blinked at the both of them. With a sigh her body fell back, making her lie down and direct her eyes at the morning skies. Her lips shifted into a frown while she sucked in some air and exhaled it out of her mouth. It's true, both her and Jasper were Quartz soldiers born with only a single thought: fight and serve the Great Diamond Authority. That's it. Nothing more or less. Only differences between them was she was born after the Rebellion while Jasper might've been born during it. She came out...different while Jasper came out perfect. Only...she isn't like Jasper. But...Jasper is still stronger than her.
"How's Pyrope?" Amethyst asked.
"He's staying over at his girlfriend's place for a while." Citrine replied. "Haven't seen him since, but I have texted him and for now he just needs some time. There's gonna be a service coming up soon." Citrine replied.
"That bitch is so gonna get it." Amethyst said firmly.
Right as someone spoke loud beeps entered their ears, making Citrine and Amethyst pull out their phones. Their screens showed a Gem icon before they pressed on it, making the background screen bring up a map and placing the icon on a specific location.
"Looks like you might get your chance." Bismuth said, looking at Citrine's phone.
"Good. Payback time." Amethyst said as she lifted herself from the ground.
October 31st 8:00 a.m.
Through the Warp Whistles, Amethyst, Citrine, and Bismuth arrived at their destination: The Beta Kindergarten.
"The Beta Kindergarten." Amethyst said in a low voice.
"Great." Citrine groaned as they all began walking.
"Still pretty hard to think that Pink Diamond actually made four Kindergartens." Bismuth added.
"My dad said she really wanted to prove herself to the other Diamonds that she could colonize a planet, and she had to work harder for that approval." Citrine replied. "One is enough. Four is overkill."
Coming up to a cross-path the trio stopped in place and quickly moved to the side. Peeking their heads out the trio saw a familiar face walking within the canyon.
"Log Date: 7-18-5-5-4. My main objective is nearly complete. Unfortunately, I am still unable to location a stable and functional vehicle that will safely transport me back to Home-World. Although, some good fortune has been provided. I have been reunited with the Quartz soldier Jasper. What she's been doing with her time is questionable, though I have no interest in it. While I still am irritated by her giving me orders, I will comply for the time being. By now I assume Home-World will be alert of our absence, which in turn shall provide a rescue mission and have me finally move on to my next assignments. End Log Date."
Peridot... She soon ended her self-journal entry and began walking toward a path. As she left Amethyst, Citrine, and Bismuth came out of hiding. With the mentioning of Jasper Amethyst's lips stretched into a grin as she took off after Peridot.
"PERIDOT!"
A gasp exited out of Peridot's lips, making her turn around to see Amethyst rushing up to her. Just before she could act Amethyst summoned her whip and thwacked it straight at her, coiling it around Peridot's body and reeling her in. Without a second thought Amethyst leaped into the air and kneed Peridot in the face before using her whip to spin her around the area and slamming her into a wrecked Injector.
Small groans exited out of Peridot's mouth as she opened her eyes to see Amethyst firmly walking up to her.
"Unless you want me to add some extra pressure, tell me where Jasper is." Amethyst said angerly.
"*huff* Why should I tell you anything? I have no obligation to give you any information." Peridot replied strongly.
Right behind Amethyst Citrine and Bismuth made themselves known to the two. Both walked side by side as Citrine summoned his hammer and Bismuth turned both of her hands into mallet. Coming up to the two Peridot's eyes shrank at the towering goliaths in front of her and Amethyst.
"I suggest you start talking." Citrine said firmly. "What is your objective here? Where is Jasper?"
Bismuth soon smashed both of her mallets together as she angerly glared at Peridot. "You better answer us, Upper-Crust."
Peridot soon gulped, but she then narrowed her eyes. Gripping her hands green electricity soon surrounded her body, making Amethyst release her whip. With the whip no longer constraining her Peridot raised both of her hands up. Two spheres of electricity began to erupt from her palms and shortly after they merged together, creating a massive sphere.
"I'd rather die than give information to a bunch of traitorous clods!" Peridot yelled.
She then unleashed the sphere at the trio. Coming right at it Citrine stepped forward and swung his hammer forward. On contact Citrine gritted his teeth at the additional pressure, but as his feet dug themselves into the ground he gripped onto his hammer's handle and pushed on. Little by little his hammer pushed the electrical sphere right until he gave it one last push, sending it right back at Peridot.
Watching it come right for her Peridot immediately jumped out of the way and watched the sphere impact a portion of the canyon, sending cracks into it and making pieces of it drop.
"Ugh! I don't have time for this!" Peridot yelled.
She then burst into the air and dashed through the path behind her. Without a moment to lose the trio chased after her. From corner to corner Peridot accelerated her movements through the landscape and quickly rushed onto a two-way path. Shifting herself to the left she directed herself onto her selected path. Turning her head she fired several electric spheres at the walls, causing parts of the canyon to crumble and fall.
As the trio went toward the two-way Citrine soon came to a complete stop. "Wait!"
His voice soon halted both Bismuth and Amethyst, making them stop and turn their heads to them. "Dude, there's no time! She's getting away! She knows where Jasper is!" Amethyst yelled.
"Look!" Citrine replied as he pointed at a nearby hole.
"*scoff* It's a hole, big deal. Gems are born from holes." Amethyst said while turning to the blocked path.
"Hold on, Amethyst. Something's not right." Bismuth said as she walked up to the hole. Reverting her hands to normal she softly placed a hand on it's outer layers. Rubbing it back and forth her eyes slowly narrowed. "This isn't a Gem hole."
Hearing this Amethyst blinked and quickly went up to the hole. "Yeah. It looks like this one was dug up, but why is that a problem? Some people were probably making some shelter."
"Making shelter in the middle of a canyon?" Citrine questioned. "Nah. It can't be that." He added as his eyes turned to the other path. "Look there's more."
Walking over to the other path Citrine spotted more holes. As important as it is to go after Peridot and stop her from achieving...whatever it is she's doing, there was a bad vibe going on with these holes.
"Bismuth." Citrine called.
"Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing." Bismuth replied. "Amethyst. We should look into these holes."
"Fine." Amethyst said.
Walking down the second path the trio turned their eyes from one direction to the next. From side to side they each located more holes being dug out. The further they walked more of the bad vibe began to grow. This made them take a few guesses on what or who could be responsible. Peridot was left out since she was more of a technician and digging up random holes doesn't add up to her ambiguous objective.
A Corrupted? That was a possibility. Maybe it was more than one and they were just making homes. However that analogy didn't make too much sense. Yes, the Corrupted were mindless beasts that acted like animals, but if there were Corrupted here making holes then the Rainbows or the Crystals would've taken care of them by now.
Right as another assumption could come up the trio soon stopped in their tracks. Right in front of them laid a massive area filled with a multitude of dug out holes, only this time there were multiple metal bars in front of them.
"What are these?" Amethyst asked out loud.
"They look like cages." Citrine said, approaching one. As he did he took a step back at the sight of a Corrupted coming toward him, but got blocked by the bars.
Turning their heads the trio carefully looked at each of the cages to find more Corrupted within them. Even more strange was that each of them had a large black collar strapped around their necks or a portion of their bodies.
"What the rocks... How are there so many Corrupted here?" Amethyst said out-loud.
Just when an answer could've been said the sound of footsteps entered everyone's ears. Up ahead the trio narrowed their eyes toward a certain individual walking up to them. Her lips stretched into a large grin as she balled her hands. Just looking at her made Amethyst glare right at her while gritting her teeth.
"*huff* I wasn't expecting to see you here, but I'll make an exception." Jasper said.
"How did you obtain all of these Corrupted?" Citrine said firmly.
"That doesn't concern you. And besides, I'm more interested in our rematch than casual talk." Jasper replied as she summoned her crash helmet.
"Oh, you're gonna get one. Only this time, your ass is getting slapped!" Amethyst said.
Amethyst then bent herself forward, rolling into a ball and dashing right into Jasper. As she was coming up to her Jasper pulled her leg back and soon sent it right forward. On impact Amethyst was sent straight into the air while uncurling herself. Summoning two whips she curled herself into a ball again, except this time her size had increased right as she burst through the air and dived toward Jasper.
On impact a huge explosion erupted, making both Citrine and Bismuth cover their eyes. As the dust began to settle Citrine and Bismuth removed their hands from their eyes to see Amethyst laying on the ground while Jasper stood tall without even a scratch on her.
"Are you kidding me!? ARE YOU ACTUALLY FREAKIN' KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!?" Amethyst yelled.
Without a word Jasper pulled her head back and then sent it right at her.
POOF!
Right then and there Citrine and Bismuth could only watch as Amethyst was poofed. Her Gemstone soon felt into the sand right until Jasper picked it up and looked carefully at it.
"Pathetic. If she wasn't going to beat the first time, then why even bother trying for a second? Such a disgrace as a Quartz soldier, though I shouldn't be so surprised since she's defective." Jasper said to the Gemstone. Then she looked up at Citrine and Bismuth before throwing Amethyst's Gemstone at them. Bismuth stepped up and caught Amethyst in her hand while glaring at Jasper. "You two are more interesting than her. But let's see what you're really capable of." She added as her Gemstone glowed and a small device came out of it.
CLICK
Pressing the button on the device one of the cages opened up. Coming out of it was a large Corrupted with spikes piercing out of it's back and a Gemstone located on it's chest. The creature roared at the duo and soon dashed at them. Tossing Amethyst's Gemstone to Citrine Bismuth stepped forward and threw her mallet hands at the beast. The creature was send back and crashed right into the sand, but it quickly got up and dug it's claws right into the sand. Bismuth quickly moved out of the way as spikes soon erupted from the spot she was just in. Charging ahead she changed her left hand into a blade, slashing the creature in half.
POOF!
With it's body no longer together the creature then poofed and it's Gemstone fell into the sand. Picking it up Bismuth then crushed it into her palm.
"Not bad. Why not try this!" Jasper said as she pushed the button.
Another cage opened up with another Corrupted coming out. This time it was large with sharp horns in the bridge between it's eyes and stood on all fours. It's Gemstone was placed on it's left shoulder. Scraping it's claw on the sand the creature dashed at Bismuth while lowering it's head. Raising her arms out Bismuth grabbed onto the horns, making the Corrupted stop and having her feet slid through the sand slightly.
Groans exited out of Bismuth as she tightened her grip on the creature. Groans and huffs exited out of the beast as it pushed itself toward her while scraping the sand. Stomping her feet on the ground Bismuth soon lifted the Corrupted into the air and threw it right behind her. While airborne the Corrupted curled itself into a ball as it hit the canyon wall and rolled itself down. Turning around Bismuth watched as it was coming to her. Leaping into the air she turned both of her hands into mallets again and slammed both of them into the Corrupted.
POOF!
With little effort the Corrupted had now been poofed. Picking up the Gemstone she then crushed it in her palm again.
"Interesting. A Bismuth being able to fight like a Quartz." Jasper said. "I think it's time for the rematch." She added while putting her device into her Gemstone.
Without warning Jasper rushed straight toward her. As she got close both Bismuth and Jasper locked hands, intertwining their fingers together. Several grunts exited Bismuth's mouth as she dig her feet into the ground, but Jasper added in some pressure, pushing her back inch by inch. Jasper's lips grew into a grin as she lifted her leg, kneeing Bismuth in the stomach, causing them both to release their hands right as she twisted her body and kicked Bismuth in the same spot.
With her back hitting the canyon Bismuth grunted and fell onto one knee. Raising her eyes she locked them onto Jasper, who then bent herself into a ball and launched herself forward. Shifting both of her hands into mallets Bismuth lifted herself up from the sand and raised both of her arms up. Carefully watching Jasper coming to her Bismuth lowered both of her arms and quickly brought them back up, swinging them right at her target. On contact Bismuth gritted her teeth as her eyes glared harder than ever before. More and more pressure was adding on, but even though Jasper was a Quartz soldier born only for fighting, Bismuth was born to only build and construct, though after meeting Rose and reuniting with Citrine that opened her mind to a world of possibilities waiting for her.
Opening her mouth Bismuth screamed to the skies, pushing Jasper away from her and dropping onto her knees. Crashing into the sands Jasper grunted and lifted herself up.
"Not bad. Last time you won only because you were lucky. Let's see how long you can keep this up." Jasper said.
"I'll keep this up for as long as I have to." Bismuth said strongly. "And I'm not alone."
Jasper's eyes immediately shot open. That's right... She been so focused on fighting Bismuth that she had already forgotten that she didn't come alone. Turning her head she quickly witnessed Citrine charging right toward her, impacting her in a flash and sending her into the sands. As she picked herself up two whips thrusted themselves into the air and coiled themselves around her legs. descending her eyes she spotted them, but before she could react they were both pulled with great force, making Jasper tumble and fall once more.
Turning her head Jasper took notice of Amethyst right behind. She had reformed and had a fierce glare coming from her eyes.
"Back for more, huh?" Jasper asked as she picked herself up. "Doesn't matter how many times you try, you're never gonna-"
Jasper was then cut off as Amethyst leaped at her while thwacking her whip at her, only this time thanks to Bismuth's upgrades the end of her whip grew spikes. On impact Jasper's arm was then severed right off of her body.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Jasper wailed into the air at the deadly attack, but little did she know...it wasn't over yet. Still airborne Amethyst summoned another whip and thwacked it at the other arm. More agonizing screams exited out of Jasper's mouth all while she fell onto her knees. Landing back on the ground Amethyst walked right up her, dismissing her second whip.
"You wanna call me "defective" again, bitch?" Amethyst said angerly.
Jasper merely glared at her with growls exiting her mouth. Without a second thought Amethyst twisted her body and thwacked her upgraded whip right at Jasper's neck.
POOF!
In an instant with her own hands...Amethyst defeated Jasper and made her poof. Watching Jasper's Gemstone fall into the sand Amethyst dismissed her whip and picked up the Gemstone before placing it into a bubble. As she did her eyes locked onto it. She didn't know Jasper personally. And she had beaten her twice. But now... Right now she had finally beaten her all on her own. With her own strength and her own way. And now...it was over.
"You're never gonna hurt anyone ever again." Amethyst said softly before sending Jasper away.
Her eyes turned to Citrine and Bismuth as she walked up to them. The battle was over, though it wasn't officially complete.
"Let's take care of this Corrupted and go after Peridot." Amethyst suggested.
Without a response Citrine and Bismuth nodded.
End Of Episode 49.
