Chapter 79: Team Death Match
We are now at the battleground which for us is at the back of the super yacht, or where the SEAL team is spawned at in a Team Death Match. I see in front of me some distance away what looks like a building on the deck with a balcony on top, and closer to me I see white walls as well as stairs. Other than that and the colourful sunset sky I see nothing else.
I had to choose what weaponry and perks to have but at first I wasn't really sure, as it depended on my strategy. I distinctly remember submachine guns being an excellent weapon for this match and I choose the MP7 with the fast mag and laser sight. With a 40 round magazine, good accuracy, rate of fire and damage for a sub machine gun, I should do well with this weapon. My secondary weapon is a side arm which is the B23R. The B23R is a burst fire weapon which holds 15 bullets and comes with the fast mag attachment. I like the B23R as it takes just one burst to kill at close range, and two at a longer range. I'm also able to control the recoil and I don't burn ammunition too quickly. As for equipment I choose one Semtex and one Concussion, which should prove useful when I'm about to enter an enclosed area. For the perks (which is basically an ability that gives me a specific edge), I choose Hardline so that I can get my score streaks faster (in other words I need less kills to obtain them), Scavenger so that I can always pick up extra ammunition for my weapons, and finally Engineer which enables me to see enemy score streaks, explosives as well as different tactical equipment that can be placed on the ground. As for score streaks which are basically different vehicles I can call in to help my team as a reward for getting enough points, I have a UAV (350 points) which reveals the location of enemies on the mini map although it can be shot down, a Care Package (460 points) which air drops a random score streak, and finally a Guardian (545 points) which projects radiation, the radiation is capable of stunning, impairing enemies as well as slowly killing them.
I remember how the point system works for this game, as I know that a kill is worth 100 points (in this mode), assists (which is damaging an enemy but they're killed by a team mate) is worth 25-50 points (depending on the amount of damage), destroying regular equipment is worth 50 points and depending on the score streak destroyed I can get a reasonable amount of points.
With my load out selected I look at my team mates and see what weapons they're carrying: Uni has a DSR bolt action sniper rifle, Noire has a M8A1, Blanc has an LSAT and a FHJ rocket launcher, Rom has a Vector K10 sub machine gun, while Ram has dual wield Kap40s. I notice how all of them are in their HDD costumes and they all face the same direction as I do, while holding their weapons tightly.
I must admit I find it odd that Rom and Ram are actually here with us in Neptune's nightmare even though as far as she's concerned, the two of them should be dead. This concerns me deeply as Neptune would know that Blanc's invasion was a fake and that Rom and Ram aren't dead, and with this thought it reminds me of White being seen despite the fact that she's supposed to be dead. Then again since I've managed to revive Noire and Uni then it's only natural that I'd be able to revive White, Rom and Ram as well and she'd know this.
This concerns me as if we've been brainwashed and if killing them then reviving them gets rid of the brainwashing, then why do we still face these nightmares? Or is it that we'll still face the nightmares and killing and reviving, is only a matter of converting someone to join our side like it was with the Leanbox unit we captured. Hmmm, it makes me wonder if Neptune already knew that all the Lastation and Loweean CPUs are actually alive in which case why keep up the pretence?
Is it to taunt us, to torture us with these nightmares or is it simply how the brainwashing works in that she can only brain wash us completely if we fail her challenge, so perhaps she's tiring us to the point of exhaustion. Then again why does Neptune not invade our place or is she already doing that via Leanbox, but then again why is she not fighting it efficiently, I'm not sure and I wish I knew the answers to this.
At least Noire is trying to work on experiments so that we can never face nightmares or be brainwashed but for now, whatever the case may be we must win in this nightmare, and any nightmares that get thrown at us in the future.
Note: Please listen to Seals Spawn Theme Black Ops 2 while reading this:
"Team Death match." Noire, who is to be our multiplayer announcer, announces.
It is then I hear the theme tune to the Seals Spawn from Black Ops 2. I look to see the Lastation logo on the bottom left corner with what looks like a fraction of 0/0. The top number equalling our score and the bottom number equalling their score, above that is the time saying 10:00 which is how long the match will last for (unless the score limit has been reached which is 75). In the bottom right I see a number which says 40/120 indicating my ammo count where the left number is the ammo in my gun, and the right number is my spare ammo. To the bottom of that are a small picture of Semtex and a concussion grenade indicating the items I have. Above that is the name of the gun: MP7 as well as the name of the attachments: laser sight and fast mag, as well as full auto indicating the rate of fire of this gun. I also see 3 icons one on top of another. The bottom is the UAV icon, above that is the care package icon and on top of that is the guardian icon. To the left of these is a vertical bar which is to indicate how much more score points do I need to get the next score streak. Finally in the centre of the screen are some cross hairs and in the centre is a number which is counting down, indicating how much longer it will be before the match will start.
As the timer counts down I am constantly thinking about where to go. Though I am familiar with the map it isn't easy knowing where to go. If I charge through the centre I could get ambushed by enemies from the balcony, and perhaps enemies from the entrance. I could go through the side on the left where this is no wall to the left but I'm guessing there'd be a sniper, there's also the route to the right but I have a feeling I could get ambushed there. It's the same story if I was to go through an underground secret passage which would be where the engines are. My best strategy would be to hide and wait for the enemy to come past, since Uni has a sniper rifle I can provide her cover should anyone try to flank.
Yeah I'll do that and by now the number has become: 2, 1, 0.
"Remember speed and aggression everyone." Noire announces to the team.
I then see on my HUD the message: "Eliminate all enemy players."
We charge forward while I follow Uni. She goes around a corner only to climb up a nearby ladder which leads to the balcony we have been facing. As soon as she gets to the top she throws two items on the ground: a shock charge which shocks and stuns enemies when they're close by, and a claymore which explodes when an enemy is close by. I find this to be useful as even if it doesn't stop our enemies, at least it'll inform Uni of any enemies incoming and I know she'll tell us if there are any. We rush through the balcony before turning left to what appears to be some bathroom, only there's a sink, a couple of mirrors and a couple of box chairs before running through that room to find the bedroom. The bedroom consists of a large double bed, a couple of tables as well as a pair of shoes and high heels. The glass windows appear to be opaque, although one of the panes is completely smashed and broken. This is where Uni places herself before crouching down and looking out to see if there are any enemies to snipe. I meanwhile head out to another entrance to this room with which there are some stairs to the left. I hide there waiting for any enemy to come so I can ambush them.
Unfortunately my HUD informs me that Uni got shot in the head by Chika, who must be crouching by the balcony opposite us. What makes it worse is that Vert has killed both Loweean candidates with her shotgun. Although they'll respawn and return to be able to continue to play the match just as anyone that is killed in this match, the score is currently 0-3.
Rather than holding my position to ambush an enemy I decide to swap my SMG for Uni's sniper rifle, and hope that I can at least avenge Uni's "death". I carefully peer out of the window hoping not to be spotted or worse shot. I manage to aim the rifle at the wall before moving slowly to the right, only for me to then see her green haired head and shoot it. After which I then see Cave's red haired head pop out and I shoot that as well. To see this happen cheers me up but I have to act quickly before someone else shoots me. I quickly turn to my left and to my right while switching to my side arm. I then hear gunfire and see red dots on my HUD which is near my position.
I look out of the balcony only to find on the deck Noire in a shootout with Neptune and Plutia, with Noire using an M8A1 assault rifle while the other two use A94 assault rifles. I quickly shoot at the one nearest to me, although as soon as I've shot at the nearest one I realise that both of them have died with one shot. This I find to be amazing and I know Uni will be really pleased for me.
"UAV awaiting orders." Noire announces.
Yes I have a UAV this will definitely prove useful, but then suddenly Vert shoots me with one shot from her shot gun and then Uni dies as well via the same way, who at that point returned to her original position.
While I am alright and I merely see Vert's perspective of her killing me then Uni before respawning at my original place, I'm a bit frustrated with how they're winning and dealing with Vert in this match will be quite tricky.
"Be advised hostile UAV incoming." Noire announces.
I then see Blanc get out her launcher and soon afterwards, she aims at the UAV which looks like a tiny plane flying slowly in the sky, before firing the launcher and switching to her LSAT. The enemy UAV gets shot down but by now the score is 4/7. Still I have my UAV but I wouldn't be surprised if they shoot it down as soon as I call it, but here goes nothing.
"Friendly UAV inbound." Noire announces.
I then see Vert drop down from the ladder so I quickly shoot at her with my SMG, allowing me to kill her before she was able to get another kill. While I am wary of the entire enemy team, my gut tells me that she'll be the strongest to deal with. They cannot win and they cannot have any powerful kill streaks, or else it'll be even harder to defeat them.
Using my UAV I look on the mini map only to find that our enemies are at the building on the other side. With this knowledge I intend to rush through the tunnel and with luck attack them from the rear.
I do so by entering inside in the "building" closest to us. As I get inside I notice in front of me some steps, I look to the left only to see that on the right hand side there are a pile of weights as well as a couple of treadmills. Ah this must be the gym section of the super yacht. Through this section is a room which I enter. The room appears to be some utility room as I see a couple of green washing machines, though neither of them are switched on or have any laundry inside what so ever. The room then has a door which leads to the outside of the ship, but I look to my right to find a large hatch that is opened. Inside is some ladders though rather than climbing down them, I jump down the hole.
After landing the fall doesn't hurt me much as I remember doing it before when I've played this map.
I remember this section to be what I call the engine tunnel as the walls and floor are metallic, and on the ceilings there are lots of pipes. I remember how I have to turn right then left before getting to where all the large engines are, humming away in the background.
I find myself annoyed with myself because I feel I've charge in knowing that Vert is going to be here, and as a matter of fact I've just spotted her. I then throw a concussion at her location as quickly as I can. Luckily the concussion grenade hits her and she's not using a tactical mask, meaning that for a few seconds she'll be unable to react and move as quickly as normal. This is just what I need to take her down and with about a dozen bullets of my SMG, she's down. As soon as Vert falls I quickly reload my SMG before moving along, past the various machines in this section. I go up a few stairs where to the right is a bench as well as what looks like a few large electric meter boxes. I then see in front of me a ladder but at the top I see Cave.
Cave is dressed in the same costume as she wore in the series. Her hair is red, fairly short and is tied up in pig tails with black ribbon as well as a white headdress. Her eyes are green and she wears small earrings. For her clothes she wears what looks like an old fashioned corset, though this one is white and has red ruffles and red ribbon, as well as red ribbon around her collar. Her corset has a section of it which is black and shows her cleavage. It also appears to cover her shoulders too and has red patterns on her shoulders. On her upper arms she wears black and gold armlets, and she wears white gloves with red and gold patterns on it, her gloves are long enough to reach her armlets. At the bottom of her corset are triangular pieces of white fabric with red borders, and she appears to wear orange bits of cloth at the bottom too. She wears what looks like black underwear and for her feet she wears white knee length boots with red patterns on it. She wears black and gold jewellery on her knees which are similar to her armlets, only her thighs are bare. She has in each of her hands a Kap 40.
Despite her appearance I don't find her to be particularly attractive, and I've never really had anything positive to say to her. While I remember her being a soldier she's also a maker, a type of character in the series who didn't belong there as she represented a maker behind the game, rather than something to do with the consoles, not to mention she never did anything to get me to like her. With this said she hasn't really done anything to anger me other than how she has bigger breasts than my CPUs in the series, and I guess the only reason she's against me right now is because she once served Vert in the series, and since this here is a battle of the consoles she's bound to be on Team Leanbox's side who is with Team Planeptune against Team Lastation and Team Lowee.
We both fire at each other with our guns, but because my weapon has more range and accuracy and we are a fair distance apart, Cave dies while I am wounded. Though I see blood splattered on my HUD indicating I'm wounded, I'm not worried at all as I know that my health will regenerate and after a short while I'm back at full health.
I decide to then climb up the ladder but suddenly Neptune and Plutia happen to rush in at the top and kill me, before I had the chance to drop down the ladder and shoot back. After seeing the kill cam of how they rushed in from the inside and shot me as I was climbing up the ladder, I respawn back to the section where to my right is a tall wall of the "building" and to the left is a makeshift walkway which has parts that are glass. I look at the score to see that we're losing 9-11.
I decide to rush through the walkway, knowing full well that one of them might pop out and attack me while I'm out of range. However if I can get to the other side I can potentially ambush any enemies that come past here, as I know it's a good spot.
I keep running as fast as I can and up the steps, fortunately no one has come here to shoot at me though I shouldn't be too relaxed as I could die before getting a kill.
Without incident I am at the other side and I look to see that at the end, is a short metal door which is opened. I hide around the wall before crouching and peeking around to see any enemies. I see Neptune run past my position, unaware of my presence and so I kill her with her back turned. Unfortunately I've attracted the attention of the enemy as I'm being shot at the back, though luckily I'm able to go prone and hide around the cover, but the enemy is already alerted and my health is quite low.
I guess there's nothing for it but to hide as best I can, and wait for my enemies to come to me. Soon afterwards they do and in fact it's Plutia and Cave. Though I do well to kill Plutia as we shoot at each other, I quickly die afterwards by Cave. We're still losing at 12-13 although if anything it feels more like a stalemate, as neither side has sent out any score streaks recently due to a lack of score, and none of us are really able to get a good number of kills in one life. This is quite frustrating and even if the lead is slight, our opponents are still in the lead.
I have respawned at the starboard aft side of the ship, which is basically the side of the SEAL team spawn on the right hand side. I am next to some stairs where the left is the "building", and in the front is a room which I remember to be where you can sit in the shade and watch television. I'll take that route and hopefully we can flank the enemy through this route. This time I am with Blanc and she aims her LSAT light machine gun at this room, I move towards it only to see Nepgear armed with a TAC-45 pistol come out. The both of us shoot her down before she is able to react, her older more incompetent sister Neptune comes out in an attempt to avenge her death, but we both shoot her down too. I move forward slowly waiting for any more of them to come out, unfortunately this proves to be our undoing as Vert comes up from behind, and kills Blanc with her shotgun. Unfortunately because of how close I am to Blanc's position, Vert was able to shoot me before I could turn around and fire back. The score is now at 17-18, oh dear.
"Be advised hostile UAV incoming." Noire announces.
Just what I need, I just hope Blanc can shoot the UAV down before their lead increases too much. As I feared by the time Blanc manages to shoot the UAV down the lead becomes 17-21, and by this point we find that the majority of us except for Uni are at the very end of the ship near our spawn location, and we see the majority of the enemy team advancing to our location, all of them except for Cave and Chika who must be their sniper team. With a fairly large gun fight going on with different members of each team attacking each other, we eventually manage to repel the attackers by killing each of them in that group, but sadly it was at the cost of a few of our team mates here. This concerns me deeply as the lead is now at 21-24 and that was with us slightly outnumbering them in that fire fight.
If I'm honest I find myself struggling with finding my best tactic in wiping them out, it's finding them and being in a position where I can kill them, but I just never manage to land a killer blow against them. I don't even know if I'd ever be able to call a UAV or a care package, they'd be very useful whatever the care package would be. I need an edge over them but how to get it.
I realise that I'm better off finding a good position to camp, ideally at Uni's position. Hopefully I can ambush any enemies there and it's mostly been successful. In fact the only reason I died was because I wasn't watching out for Vert, as I was using Uni's sniper rifle. If I can ambush enough enemies, I can use score streaks and if my team can maintain their overall decent KvDs (How many kills compared to how many deaths) and perhaps try and kill the enemies before they get killed, then we may stand a chance of winning this match.
With my plan thought out I climb up the ladder which leads to the balcony, before rushing through the balcony, through the bathroom and then through the bedroom before I hide behind the stairs while Uni snipes. The thing is despite my knowledge of Uni being a brilliant sniper, both Chika and Cave (whenever she assists Chika) do give Uni a run for her money as while sometimes she's able to get one of them, and perhaps even both of them, there are numerous occasions where she gets sniped. Hopefully at least she won't get attacked from behind with me here, but while she always sets up traps for the enemy in key locations, whenever she dies the traps disappear meaning there is some time when I don't know when the enemies are coming, meaning I have to watch in two places, not one. Although it doesn't take long before she places some more, that time can still make a difference.
It is then I hide at my position for a while looking at the bottom of the stairs for the enemy to come, as well as for any red dots that appear on the mini map, so I know where they are. I also look at the score only to find that it's now 25-28. After some time has passed and I see the score increasing, but the lead remaining consistent. I can't help but feel concerned about whether any enemies will come to our position. At least there have been no UAVs or any score streaks being announced lately, but it's still frustrating. While I do know that good things come to those who wait, I don't have time to wait not in this sort of match, but what can I do? No I should at least wait here and then perhaps see later on. Come on we can do this, we can win this. It's just such a shame that it's a stalemate right now, particularly with how I'm seeing the names of the members killing the opposing team members with varied weapons. It's not good as if this keeps up our opponents will have won, whether it's close or by miles they'll still have won and I cannot allow that to happen. The score is then 30-33 but I still don't see anyone. Oh wait, out of the blue I then see Vert trying to come up the stairs. I was worried that she'd kill me with just one shot from her Remington 870 but I manage to headshot her before she does anything else killing her instantly.
With her dead I was half expecting more of them to come up, so I stay focused on the downstairs. After a few moments I then reload my MP7 which doesn't take very long, thanks to the fast mag attachment. Realising that I don't think any more of them will try to attack me any time soon, I would have hoped that the lead would decrease, but it hasn't and it's still the same stalemate. Because of how there doesn't seem to be anyone coming up here and Vert being there was pure chance due to the stalemate, and the yacht practically being a no person's land, I decide to move to the balcony and watch the ladder, especially with Uni now having died again after engaging Cave and Chika.
I rush through the bedroom to the bathroom and then to the balcony, where I then see Uni run through to her sniping position. I just hope that Vert or someone else would try and go the opposite way around to ambush me, and perhaps I can use the balcony as a means to give me an advantage when I kill any enemies below, but because of how the match is played, what enemies would be down there? I quickly look at the balcony as well as the ladder and yet I find the score to be 35-38. If I can just get 3 more opponents now, then I'll at least have a UAV to call out. I wait a bit more looking over both the balcony and the ladder, but there's still no one for me to shoot. I try and look at the mini map as a guide, for me to work out where the enemies are and if I can ambush them from here. Oddly enough I see an allied team mate run through to the building where I am, but I then see on the mini map a red dot which is near my location. I can hear the enemy firing her gun and no doubt she's after my team mate. I decide to jump down and head to the source, I then see Plutia rush through the laundry room in an attempt to pursue my team mate, but before the sadist gets away I shoot her in the back.
Unfortunately after I kill however, I am shot in the back by the familiar person with the familiar shotgun. This isn't good as she'll probably get the team mate and Uni as well. So much for getting the UAV, or getting our lead back. I must admit this is the first time where I don't have an ideal strategy to tackle this, compared to before with how I always had a plan. I'm finding winning this match difficult due to the unpredictability, and how I'm never able to kill enough of them in one life. I get frustrated as now the score is 38-41.
I decide that it's perhaps best to go on the offensive again, but this time for me to try and go with a team mate and keep them covered, even if I may not get a UAV I can at least help to improve our score against them.
I spawn at the same place as before and it is then I see the Loweean CPU Candidate Twins rush into the building. I decide to follow them while making sure I keep my eye out for any enemies nearby, as I don't wish to be another extra point for the enemy. The twosome then run through the laundry room before dropping down to what I call the engine passage. I chuck a concussion grenade and surprisingly enough, I manage to hit someone. We then rush in and while Vert is still recovering from my tactical grenade, we mow her down with our weapons. After going through the main part of the section with the various engines and machinery, we then see the ladder where Nepgear is at the top aiming her pistol. We all open fire at each other but because of Nepgear only having a pistol and us outnumbering her, she gets mowed down while doing minimal damage to us, which would just get healed up pretty quickly.
Although we've managed to clear the place as well as wiping out two enemies, one of them I deem to be the most dangerous in this match, ideally we could do with capturing what I consider to be their building and I just know we'll get ambushed there. I want to wait first but then Ram chooses to climb up the ladder, only to find that she gets ambushed by Plutia. Before we're able to retreat a flash bang gets thrown at us. Suddenly I just see blinding white light, I can't see a thing or hear anything but loud ringing. After which I then get shot by Vert, and so does my team mate Rom.
This isn't any good as I see the kill cam where Vert casually chucks a flash bang from where she was, before jumping down the ladder and shooting the both of us.
I then respawn again at my usual place with the score being 41-45 now. There must be something I can do but what? What can I do to take the lead back? As I look at the score I can't help but feel that we may end up losing this match, and I don't know if we can win this. But I won't give up, I have to keep fighting. I mean what's the worst that can happen the lead gets bigger? I'll just have to go on the aggression with a team mate again, and just hope that this time we can kill enough to get the score streaks and the lead that we need.
I see Noire running on the port side of the boat to the Merc's Spawn side, the port side being the left hand side. I decide to escort her hoping that this time I'll be more successful. As she goes up the stairs on deck before taking cover ready to engage any approaching enemies, I go along the side passage where some parts of the floor are made of glass. As I rush to the other side I then see Vert approaching carrying her shotgun. While she's within my range, I'm not within hers so I'm able to kill her without her being able to shoot at me. But while I'm pleased with the kill and the advantage, I can just tell that I've got the attention of the enemy, and sooner or later they'll find me and kill me. No doubt Vert herself will be back to get revenge for me killing her. The thing is what can I do as I then go prone on the stairs, and wait for any potential enemy to come and kill me. After a little while I realise that perhaps no one is going to get me, so I then decide to go to the other side before hiding just so that no one surprises me.
I look at my left to see if there any enemies moving in, only for there to be one Nepgear who I shoot down before she's able to react. I wait to see if there are any more enemies coming from that direction, I then look behind me in the passage to see if any of them intend to flank me for a short while. There's no one there and this relieves me to no end but I know I cannot let my guard down as while I may have had 2 kills, I need 2 more if I am to get that UAV. I then lean from cover again and look at my right, only to find that Neptune is firing her rifle in the distance though she has her back to me. While aiming down my sights I fire in short bursts insuring each of my shots hit her, so I can kill her before I either have to reload or I have to deal with her attention. As soon as she's down I hide at my spot again looking around at the different routes to check that there is no one who could potentially kill me. I see no one there except for Noire and it pleases me no end that for the first time in this match, we have a good shot at being able to clear "their building" and so I decide to escort her as she runs along the port side of the yacht. Unfortunately as we rush past the entrance on our right, we both get shot down by Chika who's armed with an XPR50 semi-automatic sniper rifle.
This is just so frustrating that we both got shot while trying to rush past the door. This is the closest we've ever got in this match to infiltrating their building and we still die. When I see the kill cam of Chika shooting us down, it fills me with disgust with how she's able to kill us both despite her not having much of a window of opportunity. I respawn back at the familiar place and the score is now 46-50. This is not looking good as it's the beginning of the end and yet the lead is still the same. We desperately need to turn the tide of this battle and now.
I decide to go to the right hand side. I find Blanc heading there and so I escort her, hoping that this time we can succeed. We both rush to the right hand side where we were before. It's then I see Plutia and Neptune rushing in armed with AN94s. I become worried that those two jokers will kills us but all we can do is shoot at them. I do my best to aim for the head as I know it will kill them sooner. Although my health is low and so is Blanc's no doubt, I'm amazed to find that we've managed to shoot them both and I managed to shoot Plutia in the head. While we've won that little fire fight, we cannot celebrate as we're still losing and we're nowhere near the enemy base if you will. Still despite the previous failed attempts I'll keep trying no matter what as even though I'm heavily injured, I rush into the section in front of me which appears to be some building on deck, with some stairs leading up to it. I throw a concussion in there for good measure as I know there'll be an enemy waiting for me.
Indeed there was as I see an X appear in my cross hairs which is there to tell me if I've hit an enemy with my weapons. I charge inside, only for me to find Nepgear hiding in the corner, only now she's dazed and confused from the concussion grenade I threw at her. I quickly take advantage of the situation by shooting at her, before reloading and turning around to see if any of the enemies will attack me now.
OK coast is clear, I look around to see that the building I'm in appears to be like a hut as the walls appear to be wooden. To my right is a row of white seats and to the left is large television. I move past them before throwing a concussion grenade around the corner. Yet again I hit someone so I charge in for the kill.
Unfortunately I find that this is Vert and despite being stunned, she manages to shoot me with her shot gun. Argh! I'm stopped yet again! What the hell am I going to do now! When I respawn back at my usual place I find the score to be 51-54 now. Since me going to the other side via a specific route means that I end up getting killed, maybe I should try a different tactic all together. The thing is however what tactic can I try out? Hmmm I don't know but I feel that for the first time I'm running out of strategies. I'm started to feel that this is a match that we could lose. It's not just a matter of pride but what would happen to us if we'd lose? I don't really want to find out the answer to that question.
All I can do is perhaps go on the defensive and patrol our side of the super yacht. But that depends on whether they'll keep attacking even if they're currently winning. As I wonder around the ground floor of "our building", as well as walking around deck on the aft side of the vessel, I notice that much of the fighting is taking place in the middle. Though part of me feels obliged to help, I'm concerned with how it won't make much difference and how I'd much sooner ambush enemies so I can have any chance of getting a UAV. What I do however is find various hiding spots which overlook different sections of the middle area, in hopes of ambushing a potential enemy. But as the scores of both sides go up over time, it doesn't seem that I'm able to find any of them. I feel so helpless with how I'm unable to make a breakthrough in this match, as the situation grows more and more bleak.
It is then during my patrol when I'm at the right hand side that I assist Blanc in shooting down a charging Nepgear, who has managed to throw a flash bang at the Loweean CPU but soon afterwards I get shot down by her older and more incompetent sister.
I respawn and find the score to be 68-70. It's near the end of the match and it looks like it's one will lose. I decide that I should go forth and try and break through to their lines, one last time. It's do or die and I realise that there's one section I have not tried: the centre.
I follow Noire as I've done before through the doorway into "our two story building" on the ship, I go up the stairs with her only to find that Neptune is standing in the doorway to the outside. The both of us shoot her down only for me to then throw a concussion grenade through the door, where I have a confirmed hit. Outside we see Plutia dazed and confused so we shoot her down quickly. We both then head straight through going around the wooden shower cubicle which stands in the way.
After going through that cubicle, we are then about to enter the building on the other side for the first time. Noire enters first but unfortunately gets ambushed by Nepgear, luckily however I'm able to avenge her death. I notice the room I'm in being the dining room consisting of a table, chairs as well as plates, wine glasses and cutlery but there is no food or drink at the table. The room appears to be rather grand and it even has a black piano, which I crouch next to as I can predict that they'll be concerned that we've entered "their building" for the first time. I remember how there's stairs in this room as well as how there's a back door, which leads to the kitchen before leading to the outside.
Upon realising that no one is going to come, I then cautiously go up the stairs shooting any enemy shock charges and bouncy Betties that come my way, which thanks to my engineering perk are glowing in red.
I slowly turn around to find that there is a large room consisting of a desk with a laptop on it, as well as numerous shelves and even metallic cupboards in there. Suddenly I then see Cave pop out from an open door which I remember leading to a balcony. She fires her gun at me and I fire back, but fortunately for me although I'm badly wounded she gets shot down.
"We've taken the lead." Noire announces.
This pleases me as I see the score state 74-72 to us. Finally we've not just caught up with them but over taken them. Even though I don't have enough points for a UAV, at least I've secure the area. Or have I as I see Chika from the balcony throwing a shock charge at me which stuns me. Oh no I'm at the mercy of her now, if I can kill her then we'll have won the match.
It is then I see Chika and for the first time I'm able to get a proper look at her. She wears the same costume as she did in the series. Her eyes are red and she has very long green hair with a black and green bow on her hair, which looks like a flower. Her breasts are large though smaller than Vert's. For her outfit she wears a black collar with purple ribbons and a broach with a green X on it. She wears a black dress which only covers her torso and even then, it's split in the middle revealing her belly button, and it doesn't cover her sides though there are black strips which form a zig zag pattern. The black dress also reveals a good portion of her cleavage, and at the centre the colour of it is grey with green lines which form a broken X on both sides. At each side of her waist are two broaches with green lines, forming the perimeter of a square which is split in half on each side. Attached to the dress are black ribbons as well as green and black cloth. For her feet she wears black thigh length boots that are tight and have a green strip around the thighs, as well as a purple bow and black broach with a green outer square which is broken on each side, on top of her boots at her feet. She wears black gloves which cover her arms except for her hands. At the upper arm she has a green strip on them, as well as a green pattern on top of her hands.
After seeing her properly as well as observing her appearance, I do find myself having memories of her from playing the series. While she hasn't done anything negative to my CPUs unlike many of the makers and the Planeptune CPUs, I never found much of a reason to like her. I was never a big fan of how they portrayed her to be better compared to the Lastation and Lowee counterparts. Once again I find that my opinions of the cast from the series reflect how they are here, or my other memories of them. It's interesting how I've never encountered Chika before today and while she's an enemy right now, I have nothing against her. She's just a soldier because of her association with Vert, and she's perhaps in this team death match to fill in the Leanbox numbers.
Despite the fact that I'm stunned, I do my best to fire back but unfortunately this has little effect as I'm shot down by her sniper rifle. What a shame, if she was to die then it would have been a victory. Instead I see on the HUD that Vert has shot Ram, and I can only guess that she'll shoot Rom who's usually close to her in this match. As a matter of fact the match has now finished. I guess this is it we've lost to them. While I'm angry that we've lost to the likes of them, I'm not so much bothered about my pride it's more of what they're going to do to us, now that they've won. I suppose it would have been inevitable, it's a shame we've tried so hard and yet it's not enough. What a defeat to have. So close but not close enough.
