Ren stumbles around Zenyatta City. Still trapped as the Mantis Cyberbeast, he tries to return home. Dragging his feet, he's come to the more suburbian local of the city.
He comes across a mini blockade of a single police car. Seeing Ren, Masura steps out of the car.
"Ren, I don't know if you can recognize me as you are, but please, recognize my words," he tries to reason with his nephew. "I know I couldn't provide everything you needed. And I know I've been hard on you, but it was never my intention to make you like this."
Ren shakes his head violently as if Masura's words are having an effect on him.
"Please! This isn't what's meant for you. Stand down, and let us help you! We can make it right, but you need to meet me halfway here" Masura lets his emotions out as he screams his feelings at his nephew. "Ren!"
Ren screams in anguish. His voice is distorted into a robotic screech. In retaliation, he flings his arms, firing one of his bolts at Masura.
Masure stands there, willing to take the hit. Before he can be struck down, Tatsuya tackles him down the floor, dodging the attack.
Ren grabs his head and shakes, screaming more and more out of guilt, and uncontrollable rage.
"I think you're getting through to him," Tatsuya says. "Let me take it from here. Trust me."
Lady stands over them. "Through previous encounters, in order to fully restore someone of the CyberLink, you'd need to destroy it. Preferably via a Connect Finish."
"They don't make it easy." Tatsuya helps Masura onto his feet and hands him off to Lady. He stands down Ren as the CyberLink takes over more of his thoughts.
"Ren! I know I'm the last person you'd want to talk to, but I need you to listen. Don't let this define who you are. You can do better. What Masura said is true."
Tatsuya displays the RiderLink Driver, pulling it from behind him.
"He's not giving up on you. And neither am I," He slaps the driver on his waist. Like before, the belt materializes around his waist. "I'm taking this world to a new frontier, and I'm taking you with me! So don't you dare give up on yourself!"
He throws his hat away with the poncho and reveals the HopperZoPhone in his hand. He pushes the power button with an audible, "Grasshopper!" Striking a heroic pose calling reference to the first Kamen Rider, all that's left to say is, "Henshin!"
He plugs the ZoPhone into the driver, initiating the transformation. The black undersuit appears first, covering his whole body. The driver glows as lime green and white armour grows around his body, adding protection to his limbs and torso in a more streamlined and flexible pattern, unlike before. The mask appears next, looking more like a true Kamen Rider's mask with two long antennae, and a pair of big red, buggy eyes. Finally, a bright red scarf manifests itself around his neck. It flows with the passing wind.
The newly transformed Tatsuya triggers something inside Ren's mind, something not provoked by his own thoughts, "Who are you?"
"I am…," Tatsuya thinks for a second, before giving his answer. In the most confident tone he can conjure, he declares, "I am Kamen Rider Frontier!"
On that, Ren comes charging for him. He doesn't get far. With barely a twitch of his foot on the tarmac, Tatsuya has already closed the gap between them. Using the grasshopper's jumping abilities, he kicked himself off the ground, and fired himself into Ren, leaving behind a footprint in the road where he once stood.
Now up close, Tatsuya punches Ren in the gut, narrowly avoiding the razor-sharp scythes that swing for him. While it still feels like punching brick, this time Tatsuya was punching with a sledgehammer. In a single attack, he sends Ren flying back to where he came from.
As his body battles the wind resistance, Tatsuya appears behind Ren. In the slit second, before they can even fully process him being there, he throws his leg out, kicking Ren in the back.
Ren stumbles down the road, picking up pieces of the road as they roll. Using their scythes, they dig them into the ground, bringing them to a sudden halt.
Tatsuya watches as Ren picks himself up off the floor. Pushing one of the buttons on the driver, Tatsuya holds his hand out. A singular spark flies from the driver to Tatsuya's open hand, and he grabs it. The spark turns into a mechanical sword, one sporting Tatsuya's green and white colours.
Tatsuya comes running, clutching the hilt with both hands as he comes right at Ren. They retaliate by firing bolts at Tatsuya. Swinging their arms rapidly, they unleash bolt after bolt at the Rider.
With the sword, he bats them away, redirecting the bolts to the floor around him, avoiding any serious property damage.
Now up close, he gets into a bit of swordplay with Ren. Using their scythes, he tries swinging for him. Tatsuya is slim enough to duck out of the way of the hulking Mantis's blades while using the sword to parry the attacks that get too close.
Counter-attacking, he ducks down and swings low, slashing Ren in the stomach, before doing so again in the chest, rising to his feet as he cuts them in the middle.
Ren's scythes start charging up, he's preparing for another barrage of bolts to fling at Tatsuya.
"Not this time," he hovers the sword's edge over the RiderLink, registering the HopperZoPhone. The edge glows a bright emerald green. Tatsuya slashes Ren. With one swing, he cuts the scythes from Ren's arms, negating his attack. With a burst of energy from the blade, Tatsuya fires it, similarly to one of Ren's bolts into him, knocking him back.
Sparks start to fly around Ren's body. His Cyberbeast form is becoming too unstable and is breaking down.
"Now's my chance," Tatsuya throws the sword away. He smacks his hand against the ZoPhone, pushing it into the driver to trigger an ability. A jingle starts playing as the energy builds up within Tatsuya's body. A lime green aura flows around him, making his scarf flapping in the wind.
Tatsuya leaps into the air, getting higher than he ever has before on his own. He strikes another pose in the air, stretching his leg out toward Ren. As the pose is set, severally astral projected clones of Tatsuya in his Rider form appear in the sky around him, all mimicking the pose.
"HopperConnectFinish!"
Tatsuya and his clones come down on Ren, slamming their bodies, foot first to deliver his Rider Kick.
Ren explodes. Tatsuya lands just behind him as the flames die down. The Cyberbeast body turns to dust, leaving just Ren in its place. The CyberLink ejects the MantisZoPhone before detaching itself from Ren's head. The Cyberlink explodes, leaving just shards of what it used to be on the floor.
As Ren's body quits on him, and he loses his footing, Masura jumps to his aid. Catching him, he slowly lowers him to the floor. Ren opens his eyes to see Masura kneeling beside him.
"Ma…Masura?" He asks in a tired, fainted breath.
"It's me, Ren. Please. Take it easy. Help is on the way. You're going to be getting the help you need!" As Masura is panicking, holding his nephew in his arms, Ren can't help but smile as tears stream down his face.
"Thank you," he looks to Masura first, before turning his head to see Tatsuya standing there.
He doesn't say anything in response. Instead, Tatsuya nods his head to Ren.
