Tatsuya gets off the bus in the downtown area of Zenyatta. Since moving into his new apartment, he had time to change into some different clothes, ones provided to him. He continues the western aesthetic by wearing a long-sleeve shirt with a bandana paired with his cowboy hat and boots. Although he's now chosen to wear some comfortable baggy trousers.
He pulls out a folded note from his pocket and reads it. "Okay, it should just be around here." He turns a corner to see Lady Luck standing alone in front of a garage. He waves at her before lightly jogging towards her. "Sorry I'm late, apparently there was an accident on the road, and the bus had to take a detour."
"It's nothing to worry about. I assure you. I haven't been waiting long."
Tatsuya notices the ZOO case that she's holding. "Is that…?"
Lady nods, "Yes. We performed a full maintenance of the Driver, and updated any bugs in the system." She hands him the briefcase, fully accepting his place as the new Kamen Rider.
Tatsuya opens the case to examine the contents, revealing the fully updated RiderLink system with the HopperZoPhone.
"Brilliant. So was this why you called me out here?"
Lady shakes her head, "It was part of the reason. But we're also here to pick up something that's now yours."
She gestures to the garage they're standing in front of. It looks fairly standard for the garage. A massive shutter with exposed brickwork. The sign above the shutter says 'Norider' as the name.
"We've commissioned this garage to work on some equipment for the Kamen Rider project, offering our resources to put everything together."
"Why commission someone else, isn't of just having someone in ZOO work on it themself?"
"ZOO takes pride in fanning the flames of people's passions. It was that philosophy that built the Rider system you use. And the show owner is considered the best in the city."
Tatsuya looks impressed, excitement grows in his eyes as he anticipates meeting the commissioned mechanic.
The garage shutter doors open up from the inside. Standing on the other side is a man just a few years older than Tatsuya. Wearing oil-stained black cargo trousers with a pouch of tools, appropriate boots, and a plain t-shirt with stains over it, the fantasy of what Tatsuya was expecting shatters, save for the muscular build they're sporting.
The mechanic looks both of them up and down, noticing the briefcase. "I take it you're here to collect?"
"Yes, thank you," Lady answers for Tatsuya before getting into introductions. "Miyamoto Tatsuya, this is Takahashi Yuto, the owner of the garage, and the mechanic we commissioned for the Rider project."
"Yeah, thought so. I got the call last night. Come in," he gestures for them to follow him into the garage.
The garage is cozy, having had to compensate for the available size. The air is thick with the smell of gasoline. Tools of every kind are scattered haphazardly across the workbench.
Yuto leads the pair to a lone motorcycle standing in the corner, covered in a black tarp to unveil like a present.
"Here she is. I finished her off the other night, but had to make the final adjustments last night when I got your call."
Tatsuya is surprised by Yuto's commitment to the job. "Wow, working through the night? Impressive. You sound so committed. Why work out in such a small garage? Especially for a job from ZOO?"
Tatsuya hits a nerve. Yuto stops in his tracks as he stands by the bike. He turns to face Tatsuya, his eyes narrowed.
"Some of us don't have the privilege of being able to open up shop anywhere. Or bring in staff. ZOO was offering a job, so I took it. I doubt you'd understand."
Yuto has a problem with Tatsuya. The way his beastly eyes stare into Tatsuya's soul brings a shiver up his spine. Tatsuya tries to look to Lady to intervene, but she's gone.
She received a call from ZOO, so she moved away from the conversation to take it. Tatsuya tries to de-escalate the situation himself.
"I didn't mean any offense. I was just commenting on how you seem so passionate to be working out of here. Even for someone like ZOO."
Yuto just rolls his eyes, "Forget it. This place has done me fine for now, and it will continue to do. This place is my pride and joy."
Hanging up the call, Lady returns to the pair in a hurry. "A Cyberbeast has been sighted attacking an armoured convey on the other side of the city."
Tatsuya is already on it, "Has anybody been hurt?"
"It's too early to tell, but so far we don't have any confirmed casualties."
Yuto watches the emotions on Tatsuya's face. The concern, fear, to relief before determined.
"I better go. I might be able to get there in time to intervene."
Tatsuya is about to turn on his heel, before being called out, "Oi. Aren't you forgetting someone?"
Yuto grabs the sheet, and pulls it off, revealing a modified Honda motorcycle. Yuto takes pride in that look of awe that plasters itself over Tatsuya's face.
"Beautiful, isn't she? I dub her, LocustStar."
Yuto presents the Rider Machine to the others, even taking a step back to allow Tatsuya to let her enter his heart.
"Wow!"
"I know. I built her to the exact specs requested, plus used my own special techniques in making her the stunner we see now. She can take a lot of weight without slowing down, and can catch up to the likes of a pumped-up cheetah."
Lady steps up, "All Kamen Riders are required to have a 'Rider Machine' as a main mode of transport, and iconography."
Hearing this was enough to light the fire behind his eyes. Tatsuya puts down the briefcase and pulls out his equipment. "Grasshopper!" The ZoPhone calls out as he triggers the power button. With the RiderLink attached, he calls out "Henshin!" and transforms.
To his surprise, the RiderLink starts playing a little jingle before the transformation was triggered. The black undersuit appears before the green and white armour and mask. The red scarf flows in the wind as it materializes around his neck.
"The intrepid hero, Grasshopper!" The RiderLink gives a mini jingle as it says a catchphrase.
"It didn't do that before," Tatsuya says, looking to Lady for answers.
"Marketing found that Riders with jingles when they transform were popular."
Shaking his head, Tatsuya gets on LocustStar. Revving the engine, the RiderLink connects to the bike. Green sparks flow around it, growing antennas at the front as lime green highlights appear around it.
"Wish me luck!" Tatsuya takes off at top speed out of the garage, leaving behind Lady and Yuto. He watches on as his creation leaves his sight on its first spin.
