Zenyatta City police department is currently in the middle of a standstill. Cars are flipped over, the ground is torn up, and a few of the active officers have been tossed aside, and thrown around like they were sockpuppets.
Only a few remain standing. They keep to the armored truck like glue, weapons were drawn. Their eyes struggle to follow the black and yellow blur that dashes from the shadows and takes cover behind the tipped vehicles.
The truck has faint markings of damage, with deep claw marks scrapped through the hard metal.
One officer can hear the faintest woosh of wind behind him. He snaps around, gripping his revolver tight to find no one standing there. Not even the remaining officers in his group.
As the last man standing, he swallows his fear and finds his resolve. Grabbing the claw marks, he climbs up onto the roof to get a better vantage point.
Despite the higher position, he still misses when a figure lands on the truck just behind him. The officer turns, hoping to get a shot in on them, only for their hand to be grabbed. He gets grabbed by the neck also, and is lifted effortlessly in the air.
The culprit is a Cyberbeast. One is based on the cheetah, an animal known for its speed. This black and yellow cyborg holds the officer up high, taunting him. "You were just too slow for me." Their long tongue licks around their chops as they speak, threatening the officer.
The officer shows courage toward the Cyberbeast, even after their arm is twisted, forcing them to drop their gun. "You will not get away with this, monster."
"We'll see, cop."
Before the Cheetah Cyberbeast can think, they start to hear an engine running in the distance.
Tatsuya arrives on the scene as Kamen Rider Frontier, making his second, official debut. Riding on top of the LocustStar, his body becomes charged with sparking electricity that flows into the bike.
Tatsuya breaks hard on his bike. Balancing on the front tire in a front wheelie, he swings the back towards the Cheetah Cyberbeast. All of the energy built up in the bike is fired from the back tire. A wave of energy is flung toward the Cyberbeast.
Caught off guard, the Cyberbeast is struck down, and thrown off the roof of the truck, dropping the police officer onto the roof as they fall. Their body slams into the ground. The weight is enough to crack the concreate.
"Cyberbeast!" Tatsuya calls out to the monster. They lift their head off the ground, coughing up green slime. "I won't let you get away with this!"
The Cheetah Cyberbeast is taken aback by Tatsuya. This being their first encounter, he was the first person to both lay a hit on him, but also match him in power.
Choosing survival, they take off running. Their feet dig into the ground and they fire themself like a bullet away from the crime scene.
"Oh no you don't," revving the engine, Tatsuya gives chase on the LocustStar.
Despite their great speed, Tatsuya doesn't fair to catch up with them. At most, they are four meters apart and decreasing as Tatsuya closes the gap. The faster he pushes the machine, the more energy builds up in the bike, making his body spark again.
The Cheetah Cyberbeast's heart races in its chest. Fear starts to come over them as Tatsuya is catching up. They try to keep running, but they can't outgo their own speed.
Just a meter off from the Cheetah Cyberbeast, a giant gray snake appears in the road, getting between the two. Tatsuya breaks hard again, unintendedly firing another back tire energy wave into the giant snake.
The Cheetah Cyberbeast gets away. In their place, appears as the giant snake. Returning to their rider form, they make themself known to Tatsuya.
"Hello there," greets them in a polite manner. Tatsuya is stunned at the sight of another Kamen Rider.
"You…you're a…Rider?"
"Well, I wouldn't call myself that. The name is , glad to finally meet one of Zenyatta's heroes." takes a bow. "Sorry for that, but I couldn't have you interrupt the experiment. Maybe later, okay?"
"Experiment? Wait, you're working with the Cyberbeast?!" Tatsuya becomes concerned. "But you're a Kamen Rider, aren't you?"
"I told you before. My name is . And I am no, Kamen Rider." They stretch their hand out, summoning an astral projection of a group of snakes.
Tatsuya ducks, the antenna on his forehead make a woosh sound in the air with how fast he moves. He dismounts from the bike, shoving himself off to avoid the rest of the snake attack. Interacting with the driver, he holds his hand out to summon his sword.
sends another barrage of snakes their way. Now armed, Tatsuya comes charging form, using the sword to cut down the snakes before they can touch him.
Now up in their face, he swings the sword down on them, but catches it with one hand. The momentum was still enough to push them back with the edge coming just an inch short of their helmet.
"Hey, you're pretty good at this. Are you sure it's your first day?" pushes back against the sword, putting up a little struggle to put them on equal footing. "By the way, that bike of yours. It looks pretty good. Where did you get it?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," Tatsuya uses both hands to hold his sword back against . He looks down, thinking of using his finisher on them, but he can't move his hand from the handle.
"I would, actually. Yes. You must have had a pretty good mechanic working on it. I know ZOO couldn't even dream of making something as unique as that."
"What are you talking about? How would you know what ZOO can, or can't create?"
"Because," leans closer to Tatsuya's ear, and whispers through the helmet with more venom in their voice than a cobra has in its fangs, "They made me."
Before he can elaborate, Tatsuya is swarmed by snakes. Five per a hand, his limbs are wrapped around, and compressed before he's bitten several times. lets go of Tatsuya, letting him fall to his knees, visibly shaking.
"That was fun. Let's do this again sometime. Maybe for a race," walks toward the bike with the intention of taking it for themself.
The Frontier suit fights back against the venom in Tatsuya's body, freeing him from paralysis. Tatsuya is quick to clap his hand against the ZoPhone, triggering his finisher. As electricity flows through him, he leaps into the air, cracking the ground beneath him, and catching 's attention.
"HopperConnectFinish!"
Multiple clones of Tatsuya appear in the sky before all diverging on , each one with their foot extended to deliver a kick. summons another large cobra to block the attack.
When the dust settles, is nowhere to be seen, but the LocustStar remains. Tatsuya gets back on the bike and rides off.
watches from above. He holds a small phone carefully in his hand and dials a number. "It's me. I must say, I'm disappointed in your performance today. If you want to make it up to me, go to Warehouse 01E2 at the docks. And be patient. I have to see a man about a dog."
