Chapter 108: Adding fuels to the explosive situation
OK even if 5 of my team mates died in the last mission, they've been somehow mysteriously been brought back to life in this mission, and I know in this mission we need to be cautious.
Before advancing we look around so we can take in our surroundings, before I think of our next move. I notice how unlike in the previous area, it's more open area with a few hills along with numerous objects scattered all over the place, consisting of barrels in colours ranging from purple to yellow to pink, and of a few bunkers in white along with pink posts and a few wooden boxes which are near our position. I also see in the distance purple walls made of plastic which indirectly tells me that there's where our target is.
Suddenly I see in the distance what appears to be a golf buggy with not just enemy soldiers, but there is Histoire at the back in exactly the same outfit as before, though in this nightmare she carries an AK47 in her hands interesting.
Perhaps she does indeed have plenty of involvement in this to put her up there with Neptune, Nepgear and Plutia regarding the crimes committed, considering how she is in this nightmare now, just as she has appeared in one before, and this could be a sign of things to come.
Saying this it is a bit odd how she will be fighting us, because while I knew she had some abilities and she was a tome, I've never seen her fight before and it just makes me wonder how skilled she is at fighting, whether she's someone to watch out for or just a hopeless opponent, as a matter of fact it makes me wonder what sort of things she's done in this world, considering how I remember how they portrayed her as the best oracle and yet she did nothing to punish Neptune for her misdeeds.
In any case she's our biggest threat and it will be our pleasure to take her down for her negligence, her incompetence and who knows what she's done because even if we don't know now, we will find out soon.
It is then I give the order for us to hide behind the crates and engage the enemy troops, even though there are quite a few of them far away on the hill. Oddly enough it is then that I see on the buggy as well is none other than Anonydeath though he wears a bright purple latex suit, urgh he just looks so hideous in it, though I must ignore it that must be part of his plan to put us off, like it is with Histoire regarding us not knowing of how good she is.
Oh just seeing Anonydeath again just makes me think about how much I hate him and what he's done, no doubt he wishes to attempt to repeat what he's done which is to humiliate Noire, torment her, have her around his finger harassing her, and try and cause such misery and destruction to her computer systems as he can, as well as to try and get away with it even though unlike in the series he's failed. He's so sick and disgusting, it would be my pleasure to annihilate him, or to see Noire shoot him to death where it hurts, I just only hope that he doesn't get either of us, if I have to get shot I don't want it to be by him, then again I don't really want it to be by any of Neptune's goons.
It's odd I must admit because normally it would be less bad to be beaten by a boss because they're more skilled, and in this instance they have the same weapons so less humiliating, but here I'd rather be taken out by just a regular enemy soldier because they have done no wrong, they only follow orders and I feel bad for them with how they're forced to serve the wrong side. My only hope for them is that one day they can be free to choose us, us who are much superior rulers and will take care of them, look after them and not force them to war, death, pain, disease, starvation and misery, torment and torture but instead show them life, medicine, joy, happiness and salvation.
With a smoke grenade in hand White throws it forward at quite a faraway place, in hope that it will give us covering fire as it produces plenty of smoke which covers a large area.
After dropping Anonydeath off from the buggy, the buggy then drives in the distance, down a hill and then up it before dropping of Histoire so she can use that as her position to shoot at us with.
Hmm this won't be easy as there's numerous enemies trying to shoot at us there as well, in fact they're all over the place trying to fire at us as we take cover and try and fire back, hmmm this isn't ideal, just add in another one of them which I'm sure there will be, and then it will be just like back at the forest though at least this time there's more of us, that is if we don't fall too quickly to them.
Fortunately for us, one or two of the enemies then come charging towards us, perhaps with the intention of getting at us up close rather than spraying down fire at us. Still they get shot down quickly as now they have no cover, and they're much closer to us but suddenly:
"White, annihilated." The announcer says in an emotionless tone.
What? Again? This soon? Nuts and my gut tells me it's by either Histoire or Anonydeath, still I'll be sure to avenge her death. I guess there's nothing for it, we need to have a better position, and take the fight to the enemy.
"MOVE FORWARD! MOVE FORWARD! COME ON! COME ON!" I yell as loudly as possible to my team mates.
Though four of us move forward towards a bunch of crates further on for us to take cover at, Stealth takes cover and provides covering fire for us, allowing us to make our move, though while he takes out a grunt who coincidentally was the driver of the vehicle, he quickly gets taken down by the rest of them. Oh come on only four us now, and how many of them are still out there? Argh I don't want a repeat of the last mission where I was the last one, though who's to say that I may in fact survive this mission at all, no I must not think about that, yes my fear says it to be the case, but I must fight it not embrace it.
In any case I just hope that his sacrifice will not be in vain just like Blanc's, come on let's do this.
It's not long at all before we find our backs to this purple plastic wall, and we engage the enemies on the hill, who eventually get shot one by one, though there are still a good number of them there.
Oddly enough they seem to be backing off, though something tells me that they'll be back again. Suddenly I then see Noire running off to where Stealth had tragically fallen. Hmm I wonder why she's going there, probably for something important, in any case I know she'll come back and it surely must be because Stealth has something we need, ah I remember now it's because he had the bomb, well done Noire for remembering, I guess all we can do for now is to just wait until she's finished, and in the meantime keep the enemy at bay.
Though we do exchange fire with the enemy there, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of progress with regards enemies dying, still at least there's the four of us in one piece, but we need to move forward. And so therefore I look around this purple wall and find some small pink building made of bricks which appears to be a cabin of some sort.
"Annihilated." The announcer suddenly says in an emotionless tone.
Ah good one of the enemies have fallen down, even if it's a regular soldier this is good news.
"Come on guys move forward, move move move!" I yell to my troops as instinctively I turn around to see an enemy trying to shoot at me, only for me to shoot him down.
Soon afterwards my allies are with me, and suddenly it is then I realise that we're practically sitting ducks, as I see Histoire on the hill hiding behind a bunch of yellow barrels, I warn for them and then we try and engage her, and despite us having an inferior position to her, and us being more exposed than her, we shoot her down.
"Histoire, annihilated." The announcer says in the same tone.
Perhaps maybe I was concerned about nothing regarding her in terms of fighting her, or we could have simply got lucky, either way I have a feeling that she'll return and perhaps she'll be in future nightmares, maybe with something to say to us in the future though somehow despite her supposed portrayal in the series, I doubt she'll have anything wise to say.
With Histoire down and knowing that it's just enemies and the annoying Anonydeath to deal with now, we now feel more obliged to move forward and so while I give covering fire, one by one my allies move to the next position which happens to be where we need to place that bomb.
As I continue to give covering fire and even manage to shoot down a few of the enemies there, it is then I hear that unnerving voice, the voice from Annoydeath who's voice completely matches who he is to a t, which is rather unpleasant and hideous to say the least.
"Noire, my dear fancy meeting you here. I knew that after all this time you would finally come to your senses and join me my love. Oh it's so wonderful to finally see you here again, it is such a pity that you continue to go against me and my work. Oh Noire why don't you join our side, it would be much more fun than seeing you perish with Lastation and Lowee. Come on please join us we can have so many photo shoots together, I love to take pictures and I enjoy seeing you cosplay and seeing how much you make a fool of yourself, it's very admirable. Come on come on, together we can hack into all kinds of computers and see what money we can have, what personal secrets we can discover. Come on Noire my love, join me and we can have so much fun in hacking and destroying electronics, and ruining other gamer's lives." The annoying Anonydeath calls out.
I quickly turn around and aim my weapon as his voice suggests to me that he intends to ambush me in the back, though I'm disgusted by what he says I remain calm and just wait for him to pop out.
"It'll be most wonderful, why don't you leave your husband who doesn't have any fun and join…" The rotten robot says only for him to notice me and his shock is such that I shoot him down.
"Expecting someone else creepazoid? Even if Noire was here she wouldn't be impressed with you at all, you know why don't you just get a career and personality change, and then maybe Noire might have more respect for you." I say to him as I shoot him down.
"Anonydeath annihilated." The emotionless announcer says.
And to think if he didn't open up his big mouth then perhaps he may have got me, though still it pleases me to have taken care of him on Noire's behalf. Urgh even though he's down it isn't nice knowing that he'll be back soon, no I must not think that way, we've stopped him before and we'll do so again, there's no way he'll ever be able to defeat us or cause havoc and it's actually fun stopping them in their tracks. It must really get to them to know that their taunts fall on deaf ears, their provokes cause no reaction but their own humiliations.
I have a feeling that we'll make it with more of us this time around as there are four of us against just one boss now; well if I can get through these enemy soldiers who accompanied Anonydeath. The thing is that although I manage to defeat them all, it is at the cost of my own life as one of them shot me in the chest and down I go.
What a tragedy for me to fall here, in the second mission of the nightmare, still at least it's not Anonydeath that got me, and it's only an enemy soldier who I took down with me. I can only hope that my team can win this, and I only hope that I can be revived when my team wins. Aw it's so annoying, I feel like I've let my team down as I'm supposed to lead them to victory, and be the one to survive, but I'm dead again, and it saddens me to think that my death could contribute to them failing, and this could result in us failing the nightmare and our world ending, I feel sad for how they'd react to know that I've fallen.
No, they'll be fine without me, they'll be able to continue on come on we're Lastations and Loweeans, we will succeed or die trying, and even though I've died, I have played a pivotal role in this and they will get through even without me.
Oddly enough even though for a few minutes I was laying there as I was dying while in serious pain from the bullets, as the blood leaves my body, it is then that I'm somehow able to watch the rest of the team, as if this is on television. I don't believe I can give them any advice, but I can at least watch them and see how well they fare, hopefully they'll do well and succeed in this task, though something tells me that perhaps this is Neptune's doing, and her intention is for me to watch my team fall before my very eyes and that there's little I can do now.
Hah, they will survive, like we always do. I guess there's nothing to do but watch and tell you readers what happens, but I'm confident that we'll win as not one of the remaining team mates look concerned or worried that we'll fail, I don't even think it's on their minds considering how well they're doing, it's just a matter of planting the bomb, defeating the remaining enemies, and getting out of here so that we can all fight another day.
I wonder if Neptune will be here to gloat though in the meantime that I'm dead, hah I doubt it because then I can say that I shot her in this and defeated her all of those times before. I wonder if perhaps she'll tell me how that my revival if it happens is down to her, but then again I can say that me dying is because of her, and the nightmare scenario is because of her, and how she's only doing it to make me feel guilty and fall in line, just like the other people she did it to in the series.
It is then I see that the 3 remaining allies, Noire, Uni and White have walked through the purple walls only to see purple piping; this must be where the target is. After making sure that the area is clear, Noire then carefully sets the bomb on one of the pipes, its remote detonated from what I can see, so then at least it will mean that they can clear the area and then detonate it.
With the bomb set the threesome then head out to see if there any more enemies, only for them to find that there are two of them hiding behind this purple wall and they start firing at the allied trio, forcing the trio to hide and to engage them, hoping that our enemies can be taken out fairly quickly before more of them shows up and what's more, the remaining goon of Neptune's arrives as well.
Fortunately one of the grunts quickly dies followed by the other one, though there are still a few more out there trying to attack the rest of my team. Come on guys you can do it, make sure that our sacrifices are not in vain.
Considering how they're pinned down, the team quickly discuss on the means of getting out of this alive, and so they agree to let Noire rush out while she's given covering fire, and with this she's able to take out an enemy soldier there.
The other two then join but I notice concerned looks on their faces.
"Guys how much ammo have you got because I'm running out." White says sounding curious yet alerted with her lack of ammunition.
"Unfortunately I'm almost out." Noire says sounding quite concerned to say the least.
"Well I do have a fair amount though I don't know how much longer I can last for, aww nuts there's a truck coming our way. Look guys just get back to the van; I'll provide covering fire and keep them busy." Uni says as she aims her SA80 at the truck and is ready to fire on any enemies that come out.
The truck then drives through a blockade of purple barrels which I reckon were there for the sole purpose of that spectacle, and soon stops only for there to be none other than that joke Peashy in her HDD form, along with a few regular troops supporting her.
With the enemies out of the truck, the truck reverses out of there leaving a battle between Uni against Peashy and a few of her forces, all the while Noire and White leg it to the van with the detonator in their hands.
Though Uni is outnumbered and there's much enemy fire coming her way, she does not give in against them one bit and she remains calm as she returns fire as best as she could, hoping that at the very least she can take out Peashy before the boobzilla takes out Uni. I hope so because I despise Peashy for how annoying she was and how she mistreated the candidates in the series, plus how they've given her the biggest boobies just for the sake of it, then there's also how she blindly follows Neptune and does her bidding, but still she won't stop us here and I'm confident that Uni will gun them down.
While Peashy yells at how much fun it is firing her weapon, she then screams and bawls when she gets shot in the head and her boobies as plenty of blood comes gushing out of them, she also yells no fair as she's taken out with minimum difficulty. Ah excellent I wouldn't like the thought of Uni being taken out by her, but though Lastation's sniper does her best, and she manages to take out a couple more soldiers, Uni falls as well. Ah well I suppose it wasn't easy with all of those troops attacking her, and she's done well to take out Peashy, not only this but she's managed to give covering fire so that Noire and White are in the van.
With the realisation that it's just the two of them left now, Noire then presses the two buttons on the detonator, first to arm the bomb and then second to detonate it. After which there's a massive explosion in which it looks as though the fire created reaches the sky and outwards, it's rather large and the bang it makes is noisy too. It must be quite the spectacle to see in the van, and the sight of this explosion of Neptune's fuel supply pleases both Noire and White very much.
It pleases me greatly too, to know that with Neptune's fuel gone she cannot escape the planet, she'll have to die with us, or cancel the usage of the bomb if she doesn't want to die. The thing is though who's to say that Neptune rather than escaping the planet, wouldn't instead just have something to protect her, hmmm then again it could be that she might in fact be willing to kill herself if it means the end of Lastation and Lowee, perhaps she wants to cause as much destruction as possible if it means our demise.
But why does she want our demise, is it because we simply stood against her in that war we had? Then again why did Neptune start the war? Is it because our lands are superior and the people prefer us to her? Or is it perhaps nothing personal and it's just we're the leaders of Lastation and Lowee, the lands that she wishes to bring under her control as she wants everyone to obey her and support her, even though she'll do absolutely nothing for the people and it's all for her own selfish benefit, I mean she can't even look after the people now in her own land as it is without adding the rest of the lands, and that's putting it in the nicest possible way which she does not deserve.
Still at least it's nice to see the fuel go up in smoke and have numerous bangs like that of a firework, if only we could see the look on Neptune's face as it happens, though the problem is even if we've got the codes and destroyed the fuel, there is still the matter of the final mission which I know won't be easy and there won't be much time to defuse that bomb.
To do such a thing as to stop something from killing the entire planet is an unbelievable amount of pressure, and I feel it even more so than before, and who knows what future challenges we'll face in the next days to come, then there's also the challenges when we're awake.
Hmmm this isn't ideal and it does make me feel like we're just postponing the inevitable which is perhaps as I said before, just what Neptune wants, but we cannot give up that easily. With this said it does make me wonder what our nasty nemesis will do next time, if this nuclear device of hers gets deactivated by us, probably something different but then I still wonder whether Neptune has one for real?
I suppose we may never find out until we're too late or if we're fortunate enough, such that we can easily stop it when Neptune decides to launch one, but even then who's to say that it may end up being that we know that Neptune has launched one, yet despite the time before explosion we can do absolutely nothing.
It is then I realise that with regards next time, what difference will it make it's bound to be something that could kill us all unless we stop it, and that must be what she wants for us to be on our toes, just like we are now as standing between us fighting another day and ourselves is the final mission, a mission which I know won't be as easy as the last two missions. But even if I'm dead now I know that with Noire and White completing the mission, the four of us will be revived and ready to fight the final mission, I just hope when we do get brought back to life we'll have equipment that is sure to help us.
In any case at least Neptune is bound to be there to ensure it goes off if she can't leave considering her desire to use the weapon judging from the circumstances, and if we can get the satisfaction of stopping her and owning her again, not to mention saving the planet even if it's for a few days if we're lucky, then it must be worth it. It must be worth it to keep fighting no matter the consequences, because us resisting is what helps our allies and annoys our enemies, and one day we will defeat our enemies for good and this world will know peace and prosperity once more, at least we'll be together again in any case, and I know we'll do our best in disarming this nuclear device.
Not long afterwards, I do in fact end up being revived with Uni, Blanc and Stealth, and myself and Uni have in our hands bullet proof shields. Ah very nice they'll definitely come in handy protecting us from their bullets.
"Well done guys you have all done exceptionally well to make it this far and you've all played pivotal roles. I am confident that we can do this third and final mission together." I say to them.
The other three say here here in agreement, only for Uni to say something to me.
"As did you being able to complete the first mission, taking out all of Neptune's team as well as defeating Anonydeath, they're nasty pieces of work and it's so wonderful to see you defeat them." Uni speaks to me with pride in her voice.
"Many thanks and same to you Uni, without you the second mission may not have been completed, and it was fantastic to see you shoot down Peashy." I reply to her with the same tone.
"Thank you big brother, it is such a privilege to fight by your side and I'm pleased to have done well." The curly blue haired sister says to me.
"We've all done well Uni, we've all done well and we'll do well in the next mission and in the future, we'll continue to do well for our people and we will do well in our fights against Neptune." I reply to her smiling with pride for how well we have done.
It is then I soon realise that I find myself wondering where the location of this doomsday device is if we are to disarm it. Oh no, I hope Rom and Ram have an idea with regards its location, because if not then it would be horrible if we can't even do the mission with which we will have a chance of succeeding and preventing our doom, even if it looks like we're merely postponing it, no we are preventing it and we will continue to prevent our doom, as well as to defeat our enemies once and for all.
It's not long at all before I see the van approach but oddly enough it is then that my HUD tells me of the location of the doomsday device, as well as how in the location itself, there are key in a case inside somewhere which help us to defuse the bomb properly. It also says that due to the location of the doomsday device, it can only be accessed by chopper though my HUD does tell me of the location of the chopper. Ah nice, nice of my HUD to tell me of the location and that information, or is it so that Neptune can give some chance because she's that confident she'll beat us and she wants to make our defeat so humiliating, I'm unsure.
In any case even if this will be the final mission and it looks quite tough and intimidating to say the least, none of us are fazed by it and we're all ready to not just do our best, but to win as we wait for the van only for it to arrive, and then us getting in followed by me telling Ram of the location so she can drive off there, while we wait inside the van and brace ourselves for the final mission.
The thing is it soon dawns upon me that since we need to go to a base to get a chopper, I'm concerned that we could end up losing a few of us just trying to take out the enemies who are guarding the chopper, and who's to say that even if the base is big enough for one, that there will even be a chopper waiting for us. I don't know and I don't like that thought, but there's nothing I can do but to just hope for the best, or at least do our best to ensure no casualties if my worst concerns happen to be true.
I tell my friends in the back my concerns and they do in fact share the same concerns as me, but I see no worried, alarmed or even concerned facial expressions on any of them. I just see confidence and determination as well as excitement to succeed which we will, as we all prepare ourselves mentally as best as we can for our third and final mission, which is to save the world in this nightmare from complete and total destruction and defeat Neptune once again, who is hoping that perhaps this third attempt will ensure success.
She may think three times the charm regarding this, but it will be our absolute pleasure to score a hat trick to add to our collection, of defeating Neptune at every turn in these nightmare of ours, and that is part of doing what we do best, which is to make our friends and people's lives as heavenly as possible, and to make the more than deserving villain's lives like Neptune's and her friends as hellish as possible.
