Chapter 140: The fight must go on.

I am still in this nightmare who upon slaying Cody Gears, I have then had to fight my way out of the massive building full of enemies, where I hoped to find some allies, and with them defeat Neptune and her cronies. Annoyingly not only is Neptune still in one piece, I have not seen her since that so called interview, and I haven't even left this building, and worse still, this could be the end. I say this as I'm prone lying on some stairs near the entrance with enemies on all sides, and one approaching me, in which I have my gun in my hands firmly held and ready to fire when the enemy comes. I see the figure of the soldier approach closer and closer only for it to be a woman and a very attractive one at that.

I still have my finger on the trigger ready to fire though, as it could still be an enemy as I see the woman move closer and closer still to my position…..

The woman turns out to be Noire. I... I cannot believe my luck, that not only did it turn out that she survived the helicopter getting shot down, but she managed to find me and rescue me. Words cannot begin to describe how relieved and happy I am to see her friendly attractive face, smiling that she found me after all that I've been through with all those enemies, and the dread that she has been lost for good in this nightmare.

"Hi Black, it's so wonderful to see you again." Miss Lastation says to me in a caring friendly voice.

Indeed it is, it's ever so lovely to see her again especially under these circumstances, she's not just a really beautiful sight for sore eyes, but she's a highly skilled soldier. I quickly realise though that while it's ever so wonderful and lovely to see her again since I really love her so much, enjoy her company and it's a massive relief to be able to see her alive, after struggling immensely with the enemies, we tragically have urgent business to attend to especially as Noire fires her assault rifle which looks a lot like an Enfield from Black Ops at the enemy.

"Indeed it is Noire. Is it just us two or are there more of you?" I ask her with a massive smile of relief on my face. So pleased in fact that even if it's just us two, I'm happy considering the morale boost she provides not just for me but for the troops here, that and it's always better to have an ally on side especially one like her.

"You'll be pleased to hear Black, that there are 5 of us and this includes Uni, in fact one of them is a medic and has some medicine that can help you to cope better with your pain and wounds." Miss Lastation speaks with much pride and optimism while continuing to smile.

Wow, I didn't expect for Uni to be with Noire as well, and to also be in one piece. She's not just a great soldier, a great sniper and great with communications and surveillance, but she's a great sister too, and she'll be a real morale boost for all of us as well. Not only this but there's even a medic who can negate the negative symptoms that I have right now, which hopefully shouldn't take too long. It's bizarre to face this contrast of struggling through the enemies with allied soldiers coming and dying, to get more and more overwhelmed by the enemies with more numbers, more close shaves, and more ache and fatigue.

While it's lovely to have some major luck for a change, I still have to keep my guard up, and do all I can to assist. As well as to be careful to ensure that none of us dies in this nightmare, as while we're highly skilled soldiers, we are mortal to the point where a few shots is all it takes for them to kill us and take us out, and that will really affect our ability to stop Neptune and her insanity.

"Thank you so much I could do with some medical attention. Do you happen to have a spare weapon with you?" I ask her with much curiosity and appreciation, smiling a lot.

"Yeah we just happen to have a spare Remington 870 pump action shotgun with plenty of shells, should be ideal in here. I'll take you to the medic." Noire says to me in the same tone, sounding friendly and proud.

While I still ache and still feel much fatigue, it doesn't bother me as much considering the tremendous morale boost that I have, and the knowledge that it won't last much longer. While I'm unsure if the medicine will get rid of the wounds and pain completely, I know that it will help and it can make a difference in my ability to fight. I hope that it won't take long because while there are a good number of us with decent weapons, there's still the issue of all of those enemies and no doubt they'll be the toughest yet. In fact I'm concerned about the multiple directions where the enemy can get us, be it through outside, the ground floor or the upper floor, though upon hearing the exchanged gun fire I like to think that my allies are doing a great job.

As I walk towards there, I ask her of the situation.

"What's the current situation from outside?" I ask her calmly, trying to see if I can gather up any information that will be useful.

"Outside is in effect a stalemate with lots of soldiers from both sides entrenched behind their vehicles exchanging gunfire, we were lucky to smash through the door without the car stopping or any of us dying considering the machine guns that they had. We did this because we have hacked into the comms of their troops and learned that you was in this very building, and so we'd come in to assist. Plus which with the element of surprise we hoped that we can make a difference in here despite the risks of another stalemate in here or worse. I'm so pleased to have found you here. How's it been with you?" Noire reports calmly despite the situation not being particularly ideal since time is on the side of the enemy, and defeating the enemy and taking ground is proving to be really difficult to say the least.

"As you may know, Cody Gears is dead, and I've managed to fight my way through to this point, but any allies I could get along the way have died, and along with this as you no doubt experience right now, there's lots of enemies from all sides. I propose that as soon as I'm patched up we fight through the ground floor and if possible take out the enemy roadblocks, enabling a path to the parliament itself and hopefully be able to enter it itself and defeat Neptune there." I report calmly, sounding optimistic despite the immense difficulty of the situation that we're in.

"Agreed, that's what I was intending to do. Hail Britannia, let's do this." Miss Lastation responds to me with much enthusiasm in her voice and body language.

"Yeah let's do this, oh and one more thing, thank you so much you've saved my life." I say to her with much gratitude in my voice.

"And you've saved the lives of all the Britannians here including myself by taking out Cody Gears and lots of enemies, on the first floor. This meant that there's an increased chance of the stalemate being broken with my plan, and therefore more pressure can be brought on them, and ultimately defeat the enemy, thus saving ourselves once again. Besides you've saved my life loads of times before, and who knows you may end up saving ours again here." Noire says to me in appreciation and immense pride for me.

It doesn't take long at all before we reach the ground floor, and go under the stairs where the medic is, while Noire takes cover to deal with anyone who come from outside, in which there doesn't seem to be any at all. To see that while there's much gunfire coming from the ground floor, the rescuers are able to hold their ground which pleases me, and is such a contrast to the times where I had to retreat, and I feel that there's a lot more confidence and less desperation compared to before, especially when it was just me on my own in particular the times when I was closer and closer to these stairs.

Although a medic is healing me while I'm near a gunfight, I don't feel tense or stressed or wishing he would hurry up, even though I would have thought it would be the case. He gives me medicine to help reduce the pain, though tragically it will be a short while before it becomes effective, but he does bandage my wounds after putting some cream on it to help soothe it and that does help a fair amount. After he's finished in which it feels like a fair amount of time, even though probably a few minutes, he gives me the shotgun in which I thank him ever so much for that, and for patching me up. I definitely feel better than before now, albeit not as much as I would like but I'll have to wait for improvements, hopefully they'll occur before I know it.

With myself patched up, myself and the medic then join the rest of the group, in which Uni is engaging the enemies on the ground floor with an allied Britannian soldier, Noire is dealing with any potential enemies from outside, while the remaining Britannian soldier keeps his eye on the balcony and stairs. Upon reaching the group, I notice that there's a corridor in a similar design and state as before though this time, the enemies are a lot more numerous and they appear to be armed with assault rifles, from an era similar to our own.

Because of the amount of gunfire coming from the corridor, we find ourselves having to take cover and blindly spraying and praying at the enemy, though the gunfire from there continues. This is concerning as is it's proving to be what we feared the outcome to be: a stalemate or worse, in fact it's becoming worse due to the fact that while the gunfire from them stopped, which encouraged us to spray and pray at them blindly again, we hear cries from them to charge at us which forces us to retreat away from the corridor and find positions so we can take them down as best we can.

As we wait for them to come out, Noire gets her radio out to contact our fellow Britannians.

"Be advised, I have found Black and he's alive and in one piece but we're currently engaging massive number of enemies and they're approaching our position, All units on the street next to the building where Cody Gear has been killed, could you please try and head for the entrance if you can and assist with smoke grenades and cover fire, over." Miss Lastation announces calmly and in a friendly manner.

At this point, I see smoke coming from outside, and it increases as more smoke grenades are thrown, but while there is massive gunfire, there is still the issue of them getting there without getting shot down, in which I can understand why that would mean it would take a long time for them. It's tragic that we do not know how long we can hold the enemy off, still we just have to hope that we can survive long enough until they can come in and hopefully make a difference.

While my allies are baffled as to why it's taking a while for the enemy to come charging in, I understand why and it's because of them being soldiers from a previous era who while they have inferior weapons to ours and are slower, they take more hits and with the number of them there, it could be alarming considering the limited window of opportunity we'll have to take them down.

We hold our guns tightly aiming at the entrance to the corridor waiting to see what happens first: our troops or their troops arriving here, while hoping we can get through this no matter the circumstances. I'm sure we will since we've been through incidents like this loads of times.

"Try not to shoot the same enemy guys, they take lots of hits and there's significant numbers of them and conserve ammunition as best as you can." I say to them calmly.

Just as I figured the enemy would arrive first and while there's significant numbers of them, they are mere spearmen the weakest of their sort, though I get the feeling that there'll be other troops who are harder to kill. With my strategy in mind we take out that wave of troops without any difficulty, and calmly reload our weapons so that there's a fresh clip, only for us to wait for the next batch of troops to come along, along with our allies who must be struggling to get through without dying.

Tragically just as we suspected the enemy troops arrive first, and this time they are samurai who while slower, are more numerous and significantly harder to kill. In fact it proves to be the case since apart from me and an allied soldier of mine; one clip worth of our ammunition is not enough to kill one of them, even though I managed to shoot two of them. We manage to reload again quickly and fire at them another time and while this time, we got more of them, there are still significant numbers of them left, for my allies there's no time for them to reload and so they switch to their revolvers and shoot at them as best as they can, while I reload a few shells for my shotgun and kill the samurai who was approaching me. Even with this though there's still one left. Interestingly enough though just as he was about to strike me down with his sword, he gets mowed down by sub machine gun fire.

Oh that was too close and it is annoying that had it not been for them we would have been forced to give up our position due to not have any bullets to deal with them at hand, and face the greater risk of getting shot by enemies from different directions. The tragic thing is that our saviours get killed by thrown stars. Ah ninjas, they are difficult to kill with their ranged attack, their health and their agility and worse still, is that we have yet to reload our weapons in which will we have time for, I guess we have no choice but to do so and hope that there's enough time to not just do that, but to actually kill them. At least we have help in at first there being an allied rifleman taking them on, and then a machine gunner in which it's nice to have an allied Britannian with such a weapon, but tragically the rifleman falls after a few shots, and while the machine gunner did a better job he too gets killed and worse still is that there are enemies coming our way. In fact the only good thing to be happening right now is that my pain is slowly but surely disappearing, and my fatigue is not helping me to say the very least.

Fortunately with all that distraction that went on, we knew that we needed to reload and quickly and we had just enough time to reload, before half of them came and this was during the time when the machine gunner was still engaging. This group we deal with ease but then quickly after, there's another group of them and I'm unsure if we have enough time to reload our weapons, and I can only hope that they can, and in the meantime that my shotgun can make the difference. I guess here goes nothing, but at least it's another opportunity to save my colleagues. It turns out that only 3 come from a certain direction in which one by one I manage to kill before they managed to either throw a star or come near me, and while there were 2 more from the other side, they got mowed down by two allied soldiers of ours.

Once again another close shave, especially since had it not been for our allies from outside, we would have been goners for sure. My 2 allies from outside then rush in to provide us support while we finish reloading our weapons which is just as well since more enemies come in, this time they're archers who should be a lot easier to kill. They try and surround us but we wipe them out, before waiting and then taking turns to reload while seeing if any more enemies come from the corridor in which they don't. Interestingly enough though, there are enemies coming from the stairs now, but they get easily taken down.

It is at this point that while I knew it already, it hits home how there are enemies from all sides, and while we've managed to defeat those waves of enemy troops, there's plenty more from where that came from, and while this will help, we still need to get to parliament and take Neptune down. We need to get through that corridor, and hopefully be able to take out their defences in the street so that we can quickly provide pressure outside parliament and take out the defences there.

The trouble is, I have no doubt there's lots of troops in that corridor and worse still is that they can reinforce it whereas it's a lot harder for us. It is frustrating that their anti-air defences will make airdrops impossible. There's nothing for it, we just have to deal with the enemy in the corridor and apply enough pressure for them to retreat and then clear this area out room by room, and where appropriate, take out the enemy positions in the street. At least we have a light machine gun that can help us, but how much help it will be, I'm unsure. Furthermore, I am getting better and better with regards my health, but nothing can be done about my fatigue, even though at least I'm not moving too much, which should help with it.

It's interesting how we're now back to where we were before, engaging the enemy in the corridor though with luck, we shouldn't have to retreat to deal with the enemy this time, and who knows maybe this gunfight should be easier this time around, though there is still the issue of keeping an eye out for enemies from the upper floor. The thing is, is that due to not just the amount of enemies there, but the fact that they have machine guns us well, makes it hard for us to take them out so at least we can bleed them to the point where we can enter the rooms.

The annoying thing is that even with a light machine gun in our hands and we're able to exchange gunfire it just takes way too long for our liking especially since this is a race against time. What makes it worse, is that we're having to cover the stairs in which the occasional several enemies come down, be it gunmen or spearmen or even archers, though we manage to kill them before they have a chance. Not only this, but it's only a matter of time before they get lucky or that our ammunition runs out. After a fair while of us not shooting in the corridors, blindly and with us not hearing them fire at us, we think that we have an opening and so we peek out only for their gunfire to start, and for it to be more intensive than before, in fact I think there's more troops and no doubt they're reinforcing that position.

It is a struggle to think what to do since there doesn't appear to be any more allied reinforcements coming, at least for now, and yet to go down there would lead to suicide, and it's the same for outside, and going back upstairs I doubt will get us closer to the parliament. If I can just get to the first room because then those line defences on the street in front of our troops there, can be taken out, and perhaps more allied troops can then come in and reinforce our position. The thing is, it's a struggle to think how to do it. Think Black think there must be a way. Then I have it.

I remember that what got the allied reinforcements here was the use of smoke grenades, and if some can be thrown down the corridor, at the first room then with cover fire we can enter the first room and clear it out, and while there are concerns about the gunner taking us out, or even be overwhelmed by what is in the room, what other choice is there apart from to lose due to a time limit, and I am still confident that our numbers and skills will be able to defeat their even bigger numbers.

I inform my allies quietly about the plan that we have, which they think is a good one to get us out of this sticky situation. It is proposed that with cover fire, myself, Noire and Uni and another soldier sneaks to the first room and from there we clear it out, while the rest of us stays put, and with luck we can eliminate the defences outside from there, and with that done, allied Britannians can come to the entrance and to the room via outside and hopefully the situation will then be significantly better.

With my allies informed, we throw smoke outside the first room covering it as much as possible, in which as predicted they fire their weapons at us, only for us to provide covering fire and wait until they stop firing at our direction. The thing is, I don't think that they will stop, but it's not likely that they'll fire at the floor from what we've seen and so despite the risk of them ending up shooting at the floor, or the smoke effect ending we decide to crawl through to the first room under cover of the smoke and of the gunfire. It's really tense as the bullets whistle over us, and I dread the bullets coming towards me, as while we get closer and closer to the room, I really feel as though it's ever so far away.

I guess going by such a relatively slow speed doesn't help, but what concerns me is the sort of enemies I can expect to have to face, and then there is the issue of clearing the next rooms, and doing each one until we can get to the end of the corridor, and have dealt with as many of the defences on the street as we possibly can. We can only focus on one thing at a time, besides which it might be that something happens so that those issues are no longer a thing, at least the entrance to the room is ever so smoky, and that should mean we have an element of surprise which I can only hope will help us enough such that we can clear the room out, plus which I only feel a bit of pain now and that should be going soon enough.

Furthermore, we have a method, a plan when we get into that room, and that is for us to simply spray and pray the entire room as best as we can, and hope that it will be enough to get rid of them. It's just that I feel ever so tense as we get nearer and nearer that room crawling as quickly as we can to reduce the chance of getting shot, as cover fire is provided for us even though I worry that they'll be reloading soon and I wonder if that will make a difference.

While it does feel like hours, it must have been a short while as before I knew it we reach the smoke, in which the gun is still firing at chest height if someone was to be standing. I then crawl on all fours through the smoke on the right, hugging the wall while holding my shotgun in my hand, I have no doubt that the others in my group are following me close behind and are doing the same thing.

Once again before I knew it, I can no longer feel the wall and so I then change to a crouch position and while remaining under cover of the smoke, I head into the entrance area of the room to the right, only for me to then wait for my 3 followers to do the same. Once they arrive we then face outwards while still looking in the room, ensuring as best as we can that what we see despite being very little due to the smoke doesn't overlap to who's next to us, after which we then open fire, doing our best to ensure every part of what's in our line of sight is covered.

After which in which we immediately realise that there's an entrance to the room opposite directly behind us, which is no doubt guarded, and it's only the cover of the gunfire in the corridor and the smoke that prevents us from being seen and heard, we then try and move forward only to notice that there's a barricade in which we quickly climb over it and move away from the entrance.

Upon looking in the room, in which it's in the same shape only apart from large tilted tables that are strategically placed it's empty, we notice that while there are still some enemies left surrounding the barricade to the entrance, they are all spearmen, though there is a significant number of them. Further down in which it turns out that this room is a massive one that is the length of the corridor are significant numbers of samurai, archers and gunmen. Finally there appears to be on the right hand side 3 large windows

This does not look good at all, due to how many of them there are compared to us, and the lack of any decent cover considering these are tables even if they are big and fairly thick. On the plus side though there is the fact that if this area can be cleared then we can access the end of the corridor through here, and take out a good portion of the defences on this street, and should bring us to parliament itself and hopefully then, there'll be more Britainnian troops available to deal with them there. Of course there is the massive challenge of defeating all the enemies in here, but at least with the melee enemies in front and from what I've seen before, we should have some breathing space considering their speed and perhaps take some out and use the enemy approaching as cover. Furthermore I am no longer in pain just exhausted even though I shouldn't have to do too much movement here.

Not only this, but Noire can take out the defences in the street via the large window, and this will finally mean that the Britannians can get to that roadblock without too much trouble and be able to reinforce our room. As a matter of fact, Miss Lastation does the very thing I thought of, and in fact she manages to wipe out a large chunk of the enemy troops armed with guns and machine guns that guard what is actually a road block full of cars, before reloading her gun and taking cover away from the window to avoid them firing back.

After this, she then fires again covering as much of the area as possible before doing a quick check, and with another reload gets on the radio to inform our troops of the fact that the enemies behind the roadblock in front of them has been killed, giving them the opportunity to drive towards that roadblock with less risk of death, along with requesting them to engage the gun men rather than the melee. This also pleases me as it will really help since while the melee enemies are a more direct threat right now, if the ranged units can be taken out before the melee ones, then it will mean that we don't get shot at all, which can lead to us losing troops and make this fight much more difficult.

I can only hope though, that not only they can come soon, but also make a significant enough impact as the enemy melee troops come closing in, even if for now they are a fair distance away. We choose to wait until they get a bit nearer, in an attempt to buy time for allies to come in and to have dealt with the remaining enemies of the road block. Eventually we find that the spearmen get too close and so we take them out and as quickly as we can we reload our weapons again.

But even after this point there still isn't any allied Britannians yet, and the number of the samurai and the health of them, and the bullets we have to deal with them, will mean that if we were to kill some of them, we'll just get shot afterwards, and yet they're moving to us slowly but surely, and they need to be dealt with quickly, or else we'll die. It is then though that we soon realise that the gun men and archers will only shoot if the melee soldier to the direct front of them dies, and so if we just wound some of the samurai in front to the point where they're significantly wounded but not dead, and then reload and then kill the ones on the right and the gunners, and then deal with the enemy gunners that come there, or we make our way up the left if there is none, then it could actually work.

In fact, I whisper the idea to Noire and then I whisper it to Uni while Noire whispers the idea to a soldier, in which the whispering was done as quickly and as best explained as possible, only for us to then put the plan into action after agreeing with the idea, especially since the allied troops are not yet here to distract them, and perhaps are doing their best to ensure they don't get hit by roadblocks that are further away. Fortunately for us, the samurai are still a fair distance away, but it is a relief to have thought of this considering it won't be long at all before they get fairly close.

We rush up to them going past only the first window, being careful not to get shot by the enemy in other rooms, fire some rounds to significantly wound them, and then retreat and reload, realising the amount of ranged enemies behind this lot, and hoping that this tactic can be done before we get chopped up, as the enemies come closer and closer. We can only do the best we can as I take out two samurai on our right, while the other three take out the enemy soldiers before retreating, in which it's such a relief that we've killed those soldiers, before they can fire considering how serious it would be. In fact it turns out that there were a couple of enemy soldiers leaning out via the windows from outside, who we also managed to shoot down. I should have figured that they would try that after seeing Noire wipe out an entire line of enemies from that road block.

Interestingly, just as we were about to retreat, Britannian reinforcements arrive in the form of a rifleman and submachine gunner in which the latter climbs through the shot down window to reinforce us, while the riflemen shoots the ranged enemies that he can get to as Noire requested, hopefully this will make a significant enough difference in our attempts to secure this room.

Annoyingly though, the allied rifleman gets shot after only managing to get what must be a few of them, but at least it will help in this endeavour of ours, and while it was by a couple of enemies from outside who leaned out of the window after shooting through it, we managed to shoot them down before they can do anything else. The remaining 5 of us then repeat the same tactic of taking out the next two samurai that's closest to the right, and then take out the enemies behind in which there's less of them than before thanks to the allied rifleman, all the while keeping an eye on the windows to see if there are any more enemy soldiers who would like to lean out, and try and take us down in which there hasn't been any more.

While this tactic is working really well, the thing is that the enemy samurai are getting closer and closer and I'm becoming less and less certain that we can survive from this. I then realise that due to their armour, the samurai are significantly slower than us, and if we can take out the remaining troops behind them, then perhaps we can hit and run the samurai and this room is as good as ours. While the enemy ranged units may be relatively numerous for us to deal with, we are better skilled than them, and we can surprise them as they are having to look around in multiple directions, and we can only hope that our care in picking them off can be enough to get through this.

Thankfully which relieves me so much, just as we were about to engage the enemy gunmen, I can then see and hear gunfire coming from the window in which he mows down the gunmen from behind the samurai and all of us except myself then as best as they can join in and take out the enemies there while I take out the samurai in front. Amazingly the shooting of them happened so fast, that before the enemy soldiers and archers had a chance to react, they died, and in the meantime I'm able to take out the samurai one at a time, in which my allies finish them off no problem. We even managed to deal with a couple more enemy soldiers who dared to peek out the window.

What a relief to have been able to take them out considering the difficulty of getting in there, and engaging with the nearby enemies and then the massive amount of them afterwards. And for what feels like for once in this nightmare, to actually have a gun fight where we just mow them all down, and this is thanks to us having a machine gunner with us. I wonder if this will be the first of many where we can finally break the stalemate and overwhelming odds of the enemy, and finally at least, reach the next stage which is parliament itself and where the final showdown will hopefully be.

I realise though that there is still much work to be done, there is still the matter of clearing out the roadblocks on the street, along with dealing with the enemies on the opposite side of the corridor. At least if the roadblocks on the street that can be cleared from our room are cleared, then it means that along with it freeing up troops to assist us in this building, it means that ultimately more pressure can be applied to the area that surrounds parliament. Furthermore, there are blockades at each entrance to this room and so we can just sneak past them, and therefore take out those defences on the street, and with the reinforcements, take out the enemy in the room on the other side of the corridor, and then take out the enemy in the other side of the corridor.

With an announcement from Noire on her radio that this room we're in is secure, and that we intend to take out as many defences on the street as possible, we proceed to take out the defences on the street, while along with avoiding the glass as best as we can, crouching across the entrances where appropriate, aware of the fact that due to the enemy trying to attack us from there, there are likely to be looking at the window and waiting for us to arrive so that they can strike.

Interestingly enough as we head towards the second large window in which we intend to walk all the way except for when we are opposite a door that's surrounded by barricades in which case we crawl along and also go around the broken glass, a couple of enemies pop out from each of those windows only for us to shoot them down. Hmmm, I decide to head to the window furthest away putting the shotgun to good use, while the rest of us continues heading for the original destination.

I move as quickly as I can, knowing full well that an enemy soldier is likely going to try and attack from the window yet again, and crawling as quickly as I possibly can when appropriate to do so, and making sure I don't crawl over the glass. I'm pleased I've done that, as as predicted, an enemy pops out in which I fire, and I feel that I was just within range such that my gun would kill him. A close call that was, though at least I shouldn't have any more of them at least for this part with any luck. Interestingly enough, another enemy tries to lean out of the window but I quickly shoot him before he can react.

It's not long at all before I reach the window, and I aim my gun at it ready to take them out, but then they don't try and attack anymore. I have no doubt that they are waiting outside for us to show ourselves and take us out. It is now that our allies decide to attack the enemy line outside the window, no doubt it was done at this time to ensure I can cover the other window. Upon hearing the gunfire, I am confident that they'll win, in fact it's not particularly long that I then hear them walk towards me, while carefully navigating around the glass while ensuring they are not spotted by the enemy. It pleases me to know that my allies have won that one, and it's just one more window before troops can then begin pouring in and really make a difference here.

Knowing full well that the enemies outside will be waiting for us, we spray and pray blindly outside the window, and even do the sides, reload our guns and then do so again for good measure, as we do not want to get ambushed by them. Noire then peeks out at first cautiously and then after that with more confidence. After this, she gets on her radio with a confident grin on her face.

"All units be advised, we have managed to clear all the roadblock defences on the street in the section that the building that we're in overlooks. We are in need of some reinforcements to clear out the rest of this area. Furthermore enemy resistance includes heavily armoured units so deal with them with caution." Miss Lastation informs them calmly and in a friendly manner.

Hopefully with those roadblocks now gone, we can have more troops in this area, now we just need to defeat the enemies in those rooms opposite, and then with luck we can take out the enemies at the corridor opposite, and then we can take on and hopefully take out the defences of parliament and liberate it from Neptune. In fact I look in the room, in particular the area closest to the two windows closest to me and see no dead Britannians, an indication of more curb stomp battles, and perhaps this isn't a one off, a fluke and the tide of battle may be turning, in fact I feel as though my morale is increasing, and my fatigue doesn't bother me as such.

The thing is, I have no doubt that from what we've seen, that the enemies in the large room opposite will prove to be quite a challenge, and we could end up being back to struggling or worse: losing a lot of troops. In fact I fear that there may be ninjas who take a good amount of hits and are quick, but we cannot give up, and perhaps the cover fire from our allies at the other end of the corridor will either discourage them from crossing the corridor, or perhaps weaken or even kill some of them.

I then peek out the window to see troops moving along, along with them removing cars from the roadblocks there, no doubt they intend to try and ram the roadblock ahead in which I wonder if that's the final one standing in the way between the people there and parliament itself, I hope so, I like to think so. I also see some troops heading towards the window. We wait for more of them to come inside this room, before its clear there isn't going to be anymore. There's a significant number of us, over a dozen for certain which pleases me how we've got a good sized force with us. I can only hope that we can keep them alive, since each and every one of them will make a difference in the upcoming battles.

With them here, we encourage them to come to us, but for them to crawl when they have to walk past the doors as we have a strategy in mind. This is for us all to stand by the three doors and on a signal, for us to spray and pray at the enemy blindly without peeking through and see if they respond to it. It's not long before they come to us and that Noire tells them our plan, and they then head over to the doors to carry out the plan. At the appropriate signal, we open fire carefully, no doubt confident that we've taken out significant numbers of them.

After this, we reload and then I peak out only to find that there are several ninjas quickly approaching in which we spray and pray at them again, and it's such a relief to have done this at that point otherwise things could have gotten really, really messy for us. We then reload our guns again and I peek out again in the same way, only to see enemy samurai come charging in towards us. We respond in the same way and it results in the same way. Most excellent we've just wiped out another significant group of enemies without a single casualty on our side. Perhaps this is set to continue for a fair while yet, but the problem is, is that the enemy then fires back and blindly fires forcing us to take cover, and they persistently do this.

Now once again, I feel like our battle has drawn to a stalemate as the gunfire is ceaseless, but at least Noire has an idea and gets on the radio.

"Be advised, there is much gunfire coming from the room opposite us, but we are unable to take them out, we could do with some allied Britannians to crawl to one of the doors on the left hand side of the corridor and take out the enemy that are clearly by the door." Miss Lastation proposes calmly.

"I'm so sorry, but the enemy from the corridor are also shooting not just at a level that would hit some standing up but would hit someone who was crawling." The person is response says sounding concerned and upset that he cannot obey Noire.

The Lastation CPU understands completely and is not upset at all.

"Don't worry it's alright I do not wish to send troops to their deaths in a strategy that cannot be a success." She replies in a reassuring caring tone.

How unfortunate that the idea won't work. If we try and attack the end of the corridor, we'll get shot by enemies from the opposite room, if we try and attack the room opposite then we'll get shot by enemies from the end of the corridor. The only way seems to be to just charge through and clear out that room, but we'll lose lots of troops that way, and I don't think that even with the people we have now, that we have enough troops.

There has got to be a way through this, it can't be that there isn't not now we're getting closer, and in fact just the large room and the end of the corridor along with upstairs, is all that stands between us and the outer area of parliament itself, in which our troops engage with the enemy there, and hopefully this attack will force them to get reinforcements from the other areas, which will in effect weaken the other defences, and in other routes the Britannians will be able to move in closer, and apply more pressure to the outer area of parliament. While there is that, there is still the issue of time, and we need to be there to contribute in taking out the defences so we can get into parliament itself. If only I knew how to get through this though, think Black think.
