Chapter 142: Fighting to the death

We continue to fight the enemy, though it's more like deflecting their blows, due to the number of them there, in which it feels like it's increasing by the minute, and it's becoming an increasing struggle due to the energy spent in not just holding these heavy weapons, but in swinging them when appropriate to deflect the blows. Yet the frustrating thing is that neither of us have any idea of where they are, we are getting ever so tired despite sitting down, and even more exhausting to the point where I crave a drink, and to just relax and rest, but that is not possible.

Worse still, is that we are getting closer and closer to being stabbed, as we continue to struggle in blocking their stabs with their swords, and it won't be long before we get cut, before getting stabbed in more and more severe areas, until we eventually die. As a matter of fact, I notice them getting more smug and confident, as our body language and facial expressions of determination but despair, eggs them on to go for the killer blow.

Suddenly out of the blue, I hear shots and I see the relentless, seemingly endless numbers of enemy soldiers that are close to the car fall down dead, with shock on their faces at being shot. There are still more of them, but another group of them fall down dead.

Knowing that our reinforcements are the bigger threat, the enemy leaves us alone and attempts to attack them, but eventually they all fall down from getting shot, as their numbers are just not enough compared to the numbers of our reinforcements. In fact, they are the biggest I've seen in this nightmare, and it fills me with much confidence that while the enemy still has plenty more and can match or exceed our numbers, our skills should defeat them.

I and Miss Lastation exchange glances of relief and large smiles after being saved just in the very nick of time pleased that we've managed to hold them off. Despite this, it is frustrating that we will not be able to carry on with the ideal amount of energy required, but still we'll do our best to, and we can only hope that we can gradually recover, especially as now the stress is just making sure we can take parliament, and not have to fight for survival as our numbers and ammunition dwindles.

Annoyingly though, this drive by the enemy away from those stairs, which would have allowed us access to a vantage point over the junction nearest to parliament meant, that not only that has brought them time, but will have meant that they have reinforced those stairs, which will take even more time for us to take the vantage point again. They will fight to every last one of them for this parliament, and will use whatever trick they can to buy time so that they will win, and this nightmare will be a reality for us.

I can only hope that we will succeed, but my gut tells me that they'll have tricks up their sleeves which will result in them throwing spanners into the works, even as we manage to get closer and closer to parliament. The thing is though, while there are concerns about the enemy doing this or that, which can stop us dead in our tracks, we will have to cross the bridge when we get to it.

After regrouping together, we cautiously while quickly head through the corridor to the staircase, expecting the enemy to attack, and yet it is only when we get to the entrance with the staircase, that the enemy takes aim at the area, managing to take out a few of us, and forcing us to take cover and to attack them. This is just as I expected, and while it is concerning that like before we are having to deal with enemies from a higher elevation while being the same in number, I have a plan.

My plan is that since the enemy are close to the stair rails, I can get allied troops from outside to the entrance, while being below the stairs and the landing, and then at the appropriate moment ambush them, just like before. After which, we then have some of our troops reinforce those allies to keep the pressure so that the enemy are away from the staircase rails, while the rest of us go up and take the stairs and establish a position, with which to attack the enemy at the landing despite the enemy having more fire power over a choke point.

While we distract the enemy, peeking from the corner and firing at them spraying and praying, just as they fire at us, we get on the radio to troops outside, so that a couple of dozen of them can come inside and with my strategy take them out. While I'm concerned that they could be wise with that trick, it is the only one I have to be able to get to the stairs without being mowed down.

Thankfully the tactic works with the troops from outside being able to take out about a couple of dozen enemy troops, and provide cover fire for us to go up the stairs back to where we before, and meanwhile my allies that have ran out of ammunition are finally able to pick up fresh weapons, but at least this time it hasn't taken too long for us to get here. With this said though, my gut tells me that it will be a tough fight to get to that floor, and that there'll be loads of them there who are eager to fight to the death to defend it. They know of its strategic importance as do we, for it ensures there's a vantage point over the junction which is heavily guarded, and is currently being attacked on all fronts by our troops.

We manage to get up one flight of stairs before reaching the corner, and it is from there where there is lots of gun fire from a few machine gun emplacements coming our way, and even taking out several of our troops, and forcing us to take cover, while we wait for the enemy to run out of ammunition from their weapon as I pick up a rifle from a fallen ally. After hearing them stop firing, I then fire lots of shots from cover, as does one of the Britannian soldiers, before peeking out to see if there are any more enemies in which there's none that I can see.

Suddenly though, I was about to lead a squad of troops up, when about a dozen enemies come charging down the stairs, no doubt they wish to rush us and get us off these stairs once again. We manage to mow them down just as they show up, and then another but then we had to reload, and were forced to retreat a bit, only for me to notice that yet again, some of our allies on the stairs have died, while the rest are hiding by the stair rail only for them to still be getting shot.

This is déjà vu; this happened in the last chapter, my troops annihilated from them attacking us like that. I hope we don't have to be forced to retreat yet again, we will take this staircase, and we will secure this vantage point, and put pressure on parliament and take it back. All we can do though is to take out as many enemies as we can, and hold the position for as long as we can while we call for reinforcements in which we quickly do so.

After reloading we shoot at the upper staircase while maintaining cover, and reload and then peek out again, only to find that the enemy isn't there. Well that's different that they've chosen not to clear the rest of us out. Then again is it because they do not wish to send their remaining troops to take us out, considering the ones that have fallen already? Is this because they don't have any more ninjas here? It would be a relief if that's the case.

But the problem is, is that they're still guarding the stair landing up there, and rather than coming to us, they'd prefer us to come to them, take out as many of us as they can and to hold on to it for as long as possible. No doubt it will be well guarded, and it's full of troops with their weapons pointing at the end of the staircase up there. It needs to be taken and taken now, but how to do so. Think Black, think.

It is then that I have an idea and that is, that while some of us keep an eye out on the stairs and by the stair rail, that via the ledges off the stairs, the rest of us climbs around on them, until they get to the upper stair landing and when there, they will ambush them, while we give support and hopefully that area will be as good as ours. Of course I'll be getting some reinforcements to help, and while this could reduce the number by the blockade of cars engaging the enemy in the junction, if we can take this vantage point, then it will be worth it in the long run.

Furthermore, while climbing on a ledge will be difficult and aching, I can't think of a way and can only hope that the training the soldiers will have, along with the fact that the ledges will be inches thick and will only have to travel a few dozen feet, and won't have to go from one ledge to another will help them. I hope they don't get injured, but it's better to have that risk, than the certainty of dying. Let's see if we can out ninja them for a change.

I tell them of the plan and, we then radio quietly for more reinforcements in general, along with the troops from outside to send a couple of dozen to reinforce our position and to engage the enemy if they're there, since we need to make sure that they never see our forces coming through this way. In the meanwhile I whisper the plan to the troops and ask them who is up for going along the ledges for the ambush. The amazing thing is that most of them are happy to do this for Britannia, our nation, and they appear confident and not too tired or achy to do it, which pleases me very much. Even some of the troops down there when they see what they're about to do after checking that the enemy isn't watching, join in and make the climb by holding on to the ledge and making their way up to the landings upstairs.

I admire their courage, their determination and their strength, as they take part in this risky plan of mine. I guess hear goes nothing, as I hope that the Britannian soldiers don't get spotted, or even that the Gear soldiers don't suspect somethings up, as the soldiers are making their way up the stairs via the ledge, I can imagine it being a long climb along the cliff ledge, and I worry that it will take its toll. I also worry that this can fail that all their hard work will be for nothing, and I'll have lost many troops in a risky strategy in trying to take this area upstairs.

I also worry about the fact that they'll get suspicious about why we're not coming up, there's not been any gun fire, and it must be a stalemate, as they wait with their guns pointing at the top of the stairs, just as we're doing, waiting for the opposing side to show up. Then again I wonder whether as far as they're concerned, that we're waiting for reinforcements or have been abandoned this place and have just simply gone for another area.

It definitely gets tense as I can see them beginning to struggle as they work their way around the stairs slowly but surely. I can really empathise with their struggle as I've experienced immense pain and exhaustion, yet while not only would I really like to have gone and feel I should, I realise it's best for those who feel least exhausted to go, since I'm still recovering from swinging the sword to block, along with all the energy I expended earlier in the previous chapters.

The situation is unbelievably tense, as I wonder if they'll decide to look out from the stairs and notice this expedition of troops climbing on the ledge, who are in a very vulnerable position as they are about halfway as they climb in silence as quickly as they can. All we can do is to just keep an eye on the stair rails opposite and on the stairs to the top to see if any enemies show up, but they haven't.

Do they even know we're coming via this route, and just want to wait until the last minute to spoil it? It's hard to say but even if this is to pay off, my gut tells me that it won't pay off as well as I would like.

All I can do, all we can do is to, is to just wait and keep our eyes open, and at the exact moment when they reach the final section of their perilous, risky, strenuous journey, to crawl up the stairs making as minimum noise as possible. In fact it's not that long before they do and we move up, in which there's a good number of us going up, really focused ahead and psyching ourselves up to aim our guns and fire when they come up.

Numerous thoughts still and increasingly run through my mind as to will they get spotted, and along with this how much further do they have to go, and how are they holding up considering the agony of having to hold on to a ledge and move around slowly, which I can empathise really much. However, I then realise that I'll hear gunfire when they're ready or a thud if one of them have fallen. I only hope though that we can reach the appropriate part of the stairs such that we're close enough without being seen, before the action starts.

As we get closer, I then wonder how our fellow Britannian troops are doing outside, fighting against those enemies in the junction, I also wonder about the other routes to the junction. Then I also wonder how much time do we have left, especially after all this time I've taken to get from killing Cody Gears to here, and then there is the matter of taking out the enemies on the junction so that more and more pressure can be applied before it can be taken and then we can head to parliament.

Well, we have reached as far as we can go, and now all we can do is to just wait for our allies to get into position and begin the attack. I dare not look at my allies for one second to see how nervous they are, but I'm sure they're as ready as I am to do our best, and to finally capture this area, that we've been trying to get, for who knows how long now. It can't be much longer now, but the problem is the perception of time depends on the circumstances, and I know that in this case, it feels forever.

As it turns out, it's not much longer as I hear gunfire from our guns, massive gunfire, this is it our battle begins, and so we get up and rush up the steps, intending to stop when seeing the first enemy and take them down.

While numerous thoughts race through my mind as to how effective it is knowing that there's a small window of opportunity for them, and that they have to make each shot count, before they end up having to reload with nowhere to retreat to, all we can do is our best as always, and for us to take out as many as we can.

By the time we get there most of them are dead and the rest we merely assist in killing. Excellent after all this fighting and trying to outwit the enemy, we have finally managed to take the landing upstairs, and with it that valued vantage point. We can finally put increased pressure on the junction, it'll be a hard fight but we're getting significantly closer.

Or have we? For it is now that I hear gun shots from Arisaka rifles, no doubt they're after the Britannians by the stair rails. I do a quick peek to see if there are any Britannian soldiers who have got over the rail, only to see that they haven't, and so I order us all to spray and pray against the enemies, hoping that we can save our allies.

I guess though it's not to be, for we run out of bullets and have to reload our guns, and it is then I hear them yell banzai. Great this is all we need, but all we can do is our best as we go down the stairs while reloading as quickly as we can. We will not be kicked off those stairs, we will hold it and defend those steps, whatever the cost may be. We shall never surrender.

It's not long before the enemy comes charging down gripping their weapons tightly and running as fast as they can, only for us to mow them down, carefully so we do it quickly but without wasting bullets while continuing to go down the stairs so we can gain whatever distance we can. Amazingly, we manage to mow them all down without losing a single soldier in that particular gun fight.

We can't relax though, my gut tells me that there are more enemies up here, and they'll need to be cleared out, one by one. I peek out again to see if there are any enemies, and with my troops we cautiously walk along the landing waiting for any more enemies, only to find there aren't any. With that said though that could just mean that they're hiding waiting to ambush us, they need to be cleared out.

I order most of our troops despite us being significantly fewer in number now, to clear the upper floor, room by room so that we can make use of our newly acquired vantage point. I then look down below to see all the allied Britannians down there shot. It saddens me that they have worked so hard to go over the ledges, and manage to make it, and even ambush those at the vantage point only to be taken out by riflemen, and rifles that were Arisakas at that.

Note: Readers please listen to Cod WAW OST Banzai Charge while reading this:

I feel guilty for this, and frustrated and depressed. Why is it that in this nightmare, whenever I have a large number of troops under my direct command, do they keep dying and in circumstances like this? I quickly realise though and exchanged glances with my allies and my benevolent CPUs agree with this sentiment that, I cannot show depression for that would be bad for morale, and I cannot feel guilty, for I have done my best. What more could I have done. Plus which I need to bear in mind that one, their deaths will not be in vain as we have won a vital area to enable us to the next stage of this conflict at last. Second, this is a nightmare conjured up by Neptune, designed to break me, frustrate me and to see my troops get slaughtered like this, she won't get away with it.

All we can do is to hope that our allies can clear them out, or at least to fight them for long enough so that we can make a significant impact in weakening the enemy presence in the junction. We announce to our allies that we have the vantage point, and request for reinforcements to reinforce just outside our building, to provide sniper support, and to assist our allies in the corridors.

Afterwards I then look out of the window, as do the others peeking a bit to see the junction only to see on each road, several road blocks with troops guarding them with machine guns and attacking our troops, and there's loads of them. Furthermore, they are being reinforced as some of the troops are being killed by us. There's also on the junctions a few cars grouped together in a square formation with space in the middle, for soldiers to mount machine guns ready to attack, as well as soldiers taking cover by various makeshift barricades such that there's plenty overlooking each one. It's heavily guarded and what's more, is that this vantage point over looks the tower next to the parliament building and this is surrounded by a makeshift staircase encircling it, in which there's snipers all over it.

Upon seeing them, we then move away from the window overlooking them. Hmmm. This is concerning that those snipers will have a height advantage over us, even if they're more exposed than us, and there's also more of them and they have scopes, whereas upon looking around here, there is only machine guns and Arisakas.

We will need to take them out first and then clear the junction out line by line on each road, and yet there's so many of them, and if they are to be alerted, I have no doubt that they will direct their forces against our line and retake our vantage point. That will be disastrous considering the lack of troops we have there. And yet those snipers are keeping our troops pinned down, and they have to be taken out first if we are to gain superiority over picking off targets one by one, and weaken the junction garrison to the point where it can be taken.

There's nothing for it, but to take some of the Britannian troops from the two routes to the junction, next to the road we fought on earlier, and reinforce this vantage point. It will take some time, but we have no other choice, especially since they are buying for time, time which we do not have much of. Along with this I summon some of the troops I've sent out to clear upstairs back, so that first they can assist in taking out the snipers and then to take out as many troops as we can, all the while keeping an eye on our rear.

Hopefully we should be able to take out the snipers and then any reinforcements they send out quickly. Come on, we've been held back long enough, it's time to finish this. With this in mind, I announce my plan to the Britannians, and soon afterwards, we all pick a target on the tower to kill and on a count of 3, we all fire wiping out all the snipers that were on the makeshift stair case encircling the tower.

Excellent now we can snipe the enemies in the junction garrison, and be able to bleed any forces that come our way, this is it. When the junction falls, then we can enter parliament itself and hopefully take it before time runs out, and even if it's a nightmare and not reality, we'll finally be able to get our hands on the rotten Planeptune CPEwwws Neptune and Plutia.

"Hold it right there Britannians!" A gear soldier announces loudly on an electric megaphone while carrying a detonator. He is dressed in a similar uniform to what Cody Gears wore, though the colours while representing the faction are distinctly different.

I was expecting a response from them after taking out the snipers but not this one. Hmmm what does he want, I wonder, apart from us to fall?

"I have in my hands a detonator, and if I press it all of your statues in the city will be destroyed and we will replace them with statues that represent our values, and of people who fought against you and despise you. Those statues do not belong here, or to this time and it is time that they…" The soldier with the megaphone talks in a condescending, arrogant tone, thinking that we're doomed.

As he speaks my HUD is telling me to shoot the detonator. The thing is after saying: "It is time that they", Uni shoots her Arisaka at the detonator from such a range despite him waving about, and without a scope very impressive. The thing is the guy is still smug.

"Oh thanks for reminding me, I forget to tell you that if you shoot this detonator, then the statues will explode anyway albeit in 30 minutes, and will unleash a gas that is powerful and massive, that will spread throughout the country and to turn you all into our thinking that this country is racist, evil and needs to atone for its sins for eternity, and to join us who will help make Britannia a better place. Good luck in finding and defusing the explosives." The soldier says in the same tone but more emphasised before being shot in the mouth by Uni, causing him to fall dead.

As much as we wanted to respond, to say that we are one of the most tolerant countries in the world, and that he is racist for denying our history while not doing the same for others, and being ignorant in comparisons and context, and the fact that values improve overtime, there is no point since we'll just get shot.

In any case, I find myself wondering, how on earth did they manage that? To have bombs that can release gases that powerful and not be noticed? That is deeply troubling and while we have plenty of resources to deal with the bombs, and a decent amount of time to defuse them, the trouble is that this means that we won't be having any more reinforcements, in fact we'll have to divert troops away from the junction to deal with the statues.

I should have known that they would try something like this, if they can't beat us by increased reinforcements and with more deadly ones, try and find a way to reduce our numbers. This is pretty serious especially as my HUD tells me that those bombs must be defused, or else the nightmare will be lost.

Worse still is that from the tower, glass windows are broken by sniper rifles, as more snipers attempt to do battle, and from parliament itself are more forces, intending to recapture our vantage point, in fact there are forces from the junction rushing to our area, and then there is the possibility of the remaining forces from upstairs coming in. We'll be pretty much surrounded and all sides, and once we're defeated, the siege of ours will be broken, and then they can capture our statues. I ask for the radio only for me to quickly use it.

"All units be advised, there are bombs on all the statues in the city that will go off in 30 minutes, unleashing a gas that will brainwash us all into their insane ideology. They also intend to recapture a vantage point our forces have just taken, and with that they'll be able to recapture the statues. They cannot succeed, I need a half of your troops at the junction to disarm the bombs, I need another quarter here, and the rest of you to keep up the pressure on the junction. I know the news is not great but we cannot give up now, if we can succeed here, then we can take the junction, and with it parliament. Hail Britannia, everyone." I rally to them via radio with passion in my voice.

Note: Readers please listen to cod mw2 evil crow OST while reading this:

After saying this to them, I have to say that it is taking lots of time to register that there must be so many statues in this city, that need to be disarmed. While there are plenty of people to do this, there is still the issue of working out how to disarm them. I am hopeful and optimistic that they can get reinforcements back here, but when I don't know. While I realise that there are some people coming to reinforce this place, and perhaps we'll get two sets of reinforcements, again I have no idea when they'll come.

So this is it, we are to hold this vantage point and to stop the enemy from reinforcing those statues, with which we are forced to divert massive amount of forces to deal with. We're going to be heavily outnumbered, and no doubt they'll send in a large amount of forces to go with their card that they intend to play, to keep hold of that junction outside the parliament for as long as possible.

We all exchange glances, the lot of us who are not exactly high in number, even with more troops who came from the road block, as we prepare to face the fight for our lives and for that of our nation. I see nothing but determination and preparedness to fight to the death.

We decide to leave the windows due to snipers, and to have troops split into 4 different groups, in effect 3 lines of defence for the enemy to get through, with one group by each side of the door to outside, and at the appropriate time to shoot them when they enter. Another group will be at the lower end of the stairs ready to fire when they come in, the third group will be at the upper end of the stairs ready to attack when they are seen, and the final group which will include myself, Noire and Uni will be in the large room overlooking outside, ready to ambush those who intend to go after the statues.

While we do this and know that we will do our best, I worry that this will result in them getting that vantage point again, and we would end up forever facing seemingly limitless numbers, that just prove too much for us to be able to keep hold of territory, and be forced to retreat to take it back. There is also the worry that time is running out for us all. I then make the announcement via radio that there are enemies coming for the statues, and will come via the road nearest to the building we've been fighting in for all these chapters. I just hope that everyone involved is able to defuse the bomb on every statue, considering the number and whether they're easy to spot and easy to defuse. Then again I'm in a nightmare and there's nothing I can do, but to keep the enemy away.

While I have been reassured of some reinforcements coming to the road this building we're in is by, to stop the enemies from capturing the statues, their ETA is a few minutes, and it'll be a long few minutes before they can come. Nevertheless my group heads as quickly as we can to the room overlooking the road, taking some of the machine guns with us and await for them to pass, where hopefully we can ambush them and kill enough of them for us to have a chance, and to ultimately keep the enemies away from those statues.

We wait for them to come as I wonder how many of them will head out past there, which will make all the difference as to whether we can win or not. It's not long before they do in fact come, and my goodness there's loads of them, there must be many dozens of them, and who knows how many are heading for the area the rest of our allies are at, as they're ready to engage making the most of the territory that they have. Still with our element of surprise, we hope that we can reduce their numbers. Besides which with their intention of going for the statues, with any luck they'll split up and we'll be able to defeat them, while warning our allies of the approaching enemy, in which the reinforcements should be able to deal with them.

While there is the issue of dealing with the enemies in the vantage point, we'll have to wait and see what the numbers are, and what numbers we have to be able to deal with them, and with luck, retake the vantage point and be able to clear the junction with reduced troops, as their card of reducing our numbers via emergency of exploding statues and exploiting it, will have failed.

At the right moment we open fire trying to kill as many as we can, while we still have ammunition in our guns, and they're still not looking. We get plenty of them but just as we were concerned would be case, it's not enough of them and now we're having to get away from the window, and quickly retreat while reloading our weapon as we can, knowing that we have little time to get out of the room while not being seen, before they enter it. This is all despite me and Noire still being exhausted from the sword swinging earlier.

The thing is just as we have finished reloading our guns and we run backwards as quickly as we can while keeping our eye out for them, they have reached the windows. We manage to mow a good number of them down before either getting into the room via the window, or being able to fire their guns at us, but yet again we run out of ammunition, though at least by now, we have managed to get through the doors, and take cover by them. Unfortunately this is not without losing some of our guys, which is quite tragic to say the least.

Upon reloading again, me, Miss Lastation and Lastation's CPU Candidate decide to provide cover fire while the rest of our troops cross the corridor into the room opposite, only for them to then do the same from where they are, so that we can cross to the room opposite.

While relieved to be safeish, it's only a matter of time before the enemy reaches us. I like to think we have killed a significant portion of the enemy, though is it enough especially considering the limited numbers we have left now and worse, after informing my allies by the statues that a large force is coming, and requesting that they reinforce and defend the route to stop them from attacking, we have been told by the radio that despite the best efforts of the Britannian soldiers they have been over run, and are unable to hold it, despite killing massive numbers of Gear troops? In fact they've also been attacked from upstairs too.

This is demoralising. I did expect an attack but even then hearing what has happened despite predicting this is still depressing and frustrating, not to mention upsetting considering all those fallen Britannian. How many more of them are there? We must have killed who knows how many, but still they fight to the death. And now the concept of fighting to the death will be more applicable to us now, as those enemies who recaptured the vantage point will no doubt come here and finish us off, just as the remaining Gears troops from outside.

The odds do not look good at all, not when it's just us and all the allied troops are either dealing with the junction, disarming the bombs or defending the statues against the enemy. Yet in contrast there's the unknown but still large force against us, and defeating them will be difficult, let alone taking out the snipers in the junction so that we cannot just attack that area, but to take it from the enemy.

We can only hope that somehow we can get through this, but ideally we need everyone here alive, though this will most certainly be a challenge, considering how there's only a limited amount of enemies that we can kill in one go. There has to be a way of taking out the enemies here without losing our troops. Think Black think.

I'm thinking really hard, but suddenly, the enemy troops attempt to come in, which must be the remaining enemy troops from outside, and while we manage to kill everyone who shows up, without any of us dying, we have no idea how many more of them there are. In fact it's only a matter of time before more of them show up, and I don't think we can take them on with the numbers that we have. In fact with me being closest to the door, I peek and can hear rushing footsteps down the stairs.

I have a brainwave of an idea, and that is to quickly change into Gear uniform and to stand outside disguised as a soldier, and with luck be able to convince the enemy that it's clear and that they'll leave, meaning that the vantage point will be ours once again. I whisper the allies my plan so they know to keep away from the door, but keep their weapons close by.

While it is depressing that I'm effectively sending more enemy troops their way when it was my job to kill them, we can only get so many, and hopefully with reinforcements coming to the defence, they'll be able to defeat the enemy though my gut tells me that it will be a while before they succeed in that endeavour.

I realise though that there could be a garrison stationed there now, and this is just some of the soldiers that are coming our way, in which getting rid of them will be tricky. Worse, there could be more reinforcements, or even that there's still soldiers who originally intended to go to the statue but were interrupted by me, even though I doubt that that one is true.

Then again I also realise that there are a lot of things that can upset my plan, but I have no other choice, and with time being limited, I'll have to put on a Gear uniform on top of what I'm already wearing. At least my language skills won't be a problem, it's just getting them to believe my story.

OK I'm the last soldier of my group who has managed to defeat the Britannian garrison and has killed Black, Noire and Uni, I've been ordered to stay put when that has happened, and I've defected to the Gear side. As I hear the footsteps of soldiers approach, I check myself that my clothes are completely covered in which thankfully I am, what the odds of that are. After this I stand outside, ready to greet them with a friendly smile.

OK this is it I say to myself, as I rehearse what I'm going to say, and remain optimistic that I can get rid of the soldiers without fighting, that I can get that vantage point without there being any more enemy soldiers. We will all survive this, and therefore we can snipe the snipers, take out the junction garrison, and be able to go into parliament and take it, take it for us, for our nations, and for humanity and for prosperity.

The enemy troops are now at the appropriate distance as I begin to talk to them.
