Chapter 149: The battle of cars and guns

Note: Readers please listen to Driv3r Miami Dusk Chase theme while reading this:

We're in pursuit of Plutia right now in this nightmare that we've been in for what feels like many chapters, and while the odds are heavily stacked against us, with myself, Noire and Uni against who knows how many enemies in the car park, not to mention enemies in other parts of the building who can attack us from behind, along with enemies outside who could reinforce the car park, and then there is the limited time we have in being able to maintain pursuit with this vile sadist, we have no other choice but to commence attack and hope for the best, that we can somehow take out the enemy there, and be able to stall Plutia's ability to escape such that we can pursue her.

We have the advantage of surprise and knowing Plutia's location we can wound her, and shoot the tyre, in hopes that they'll be forced to give her medical attention so that she doesn't bleed out, or at least transport her to a new vehicle since hopefully she'll no longer be able to move by her own power, at least at the moment.

The trouble is however, is that we know the enemy will just open fire back and perhaps charge in, but it's all we have, and while we could kill her and perhaps find another way out, we'll still be pursued by them and we won't know where the rest are. We need to capture and force her to tell us where her allies are, and while she may not tell us, it's better to take that chance.

At the moment when Plutia was in the car, we shoot one of the tyres of the car, and then shoot at the part of the door Plutia got in, where we suspect her legs to be in hopes of wounding her enough where she'll need assistance getting out.

There's no way of knowing if we've wounded her, as the gun fire would drown out any entertaining screams of pain from the vile sadist, though as predicted, we have other problems to worry about, as after firing and retreating, there is immense gunfire coming in our direction, which forces us to stay away from the door even if it means, that we have no way of knowing which car Plutia has got into if at all, and the exchanged looks on our faces show much concern regarding this matter.

It is frustratingly annoying to say the least that despite our best efforts, we are having to rely on luck, that it'll take long enough for us to get to her, that we can see her get into a new car and sabotage that from afar, and better yet that we can find a way of taking out the enemy garrison inside the car park. We can only hope to continue doing our best, and that our luck doesn't run out, not when there is so much at stake.

When the gunfire dies down, I dare to take another careful peek to see if there's a car nearby we can commandeer, only to see lots of enemies peeking out from their various forms of cover, with their guns aimed in our direction. While I notice Plutia trying to get into one of the cars that's ready for a quick getaway, a car then drives towards us. I can only fire a few shots at the wheels of the car that Plutia was about to get into, along with her legs so that she'd have to fall down, be revived and then taken to another car, before retreating away upstairs with Noire and Uni following me in desperation that we don't get run over.

This is deeply unnerving stuff, for even if we're able to survive the car ramming into the area we're at, there's still the issue of troops moving in, and taking out the enemies in the car and surviving their attempts to kill us. Once again as always, we can only hope that somehow we can find a way of taking out the enemies in the car, and be able to take the car, only for us to then reverse into the car park, find Plutia and pursue her.

It will be a tall order to say the very least, and we can only run for now as quickly as we can up the stairs, until we're at the part where there's another flight of stairs to the next floor, and gun the enemy before they can attack us, and hope that they won't take too much punishment, but something tells me that they will.

While it is expected, it's never the less concerning when the car crashes through the door and wall, and while it's slowed down it's still able to punch through and we can only assume that even with the impact, they'll still be able to fight, and so with us making it just in time, we open fire, hoping that we can at least take out the driver and the passenger in front, assuming there is one before they have a chance to react.

Amazingly, though perhaps this is thanks to our weapons and the likelihood that they are recovering from the impact due to the shock of it, we manage to take out the driver and the passenger, and this is even with them being able to take a magazine's worth of our ammunition. We share glances of relief but the relief turns to concern, as the trouble is that we have to reload and we know that there'll be enemies in the back of the car, and will know where we are. At least we should be able to use the advantage of us having elevation, and be able to see where they are, and hopefully use that knowledge to take them out, and take them out quickly, especially since it's hard to know how long we are taking, and how long it will take for Plutia to get into a new car in her condition.

Knowing that there's at least the fact that there's only one way they can go to get us, we take cover higher up the stairs, and have our guns out ready to fire when they approach, in case they choose to come up to us and get us, if they wish to try and rush us in hopes that we'll be distracted enough so that Plutia can get away.

The problem with the tactic that we're doing right now is that they may not choose to come up and instead wait for us to come down and defend their position, and us waiting here is buying Plutia time, time to escape from our grasp. Then there is also the concern of any enemies coming down the stairs, in which we look every now and then only to find that there aren't any, but never the less due to having to take cover from downstairs, we'll be heavily exposed from upstairs, and can only hope that our allies above can hold them off.

We'll have to wait here for a few seconds, again relying on luck that after our ambush they'll get out of the car and attack us, and hope that if they don't then we can still somehow continue our pursuit of Plutia, after successfully taking out the enemy garrison here.

We were about to carefully go down the stairs knowing that the enemy is about to ambush us, only for us to notice enemies presumably from the car, rush towards the stairs in hopes of taking us out. We quickly open fire on them before they can get up the stairs, hoping that we can take them out before they are able to turn and fire back.

Again like before, we were able to wipe them out, but while they were more responsive to us, they weren't as tough as before, and we've managed to avoid getting shot by them. The trouble is while we have managed to get them, and we're in a relatively good position with our elevation, potential enemies from above aside, we need to be downstairs, and we need to go through the enemy garrison at the car park and pursue Plutia, and no doubt there'll be troops guarding there, and getting into position by the car, since they'll know that trying to rush in doesn't work, and they'll lose too many of their troops in too short a time.

Knowing this concerns us, especially as we'll need to rush to the car as quickly as we can, and ensure that we can see which car Plutia is in, or better still will be in and be able to pursue it. At least the car we can use is closer than what we feared, and it's something to find that it's thanks to the enemy's tactics that we can use this car, and have a greater chance of survival in making it to the car. We can only hope that our luck doesn't run out, especially in this crucial stage of this accursed nightmare, as we exchange glances as if to ask if we're all ready.

To ensure we can get downstairs while keeping the enemy at bay just enough so that we can get into the car, one of us sprays from cover at the area by the car, where the enemy would have to enter to get into the area we're at before peeking out, and looking for any enemies that are waiting for us next to the car, or behind the car as we don't wish to get shot while rushing downstairs, only to find that there's no one there presumably because they're shot.

We take it in turns to provide cover while we go down the stairs, and while the enemy tries to attack, because of us being more ready to shoot them than they are of us, we can take them down without a problem. Eventually we make it to the ground floor again, and we quickly pick up the decent weapons from the fallen soldiers, before carrying on. We stop at the part where the wall now ends as then we shoot from cover for a fair while before quickly rushing and diving into the car, hoping that we don't get shot in return, until we can at least make it into the car in which it's a purple Pontiac LeMans upon closer inspection, and from what I remember in the Driver series.

Upon getting in the car in which I can sense the relief on my female companion's faces, we realise that there is the concern of not only spotting the car that Plutia's in, in which Noire informs me is a purple Dodge Monaco, and she's already in the car, and they're waiting for Histoire who helped her in to get in the car and drive off, while we would have to reverse and drive through immense gunfire, there's also the concern as to whether the car would work after driving through a wall and crashing here.

Yet again it's luck that determines if I can get the car working, and soon enough so that we can begin the pursuit of the vile sadist in her car, in which we have no doubt that the occupants of that car will fight to the death to protect her, and there'll be loads of escorts to deal with while we are on the other hand, will have not only no back up, but no means of obtaining extra ammunition. We won't even have light machine guns or rockets, just sub machine guns with one of them, an AK74u, having a GP25 grenade launcher with a few grenades. Then there's the fact that there's only 3 of us, and in each car there could potentially be 5 people, and with it just being me at the front and I'm having to drive while shoot and duck, I'm concerned I'll crash.

This isn't ideal to say the very least, not if the car chase could lead to a foot chase, and we have no idea of how many enemies there'll be to protect the Planeptune CPEwwww at all costs. We will have to make each shot count, and aim for the enemies or the tyres if we can.

Due to the immense gun fire towards the car, we're having to hide as best as we can, as I switch to reverse in hopes that the gear stick still works in which it does albeit with a bit of a challenge, before pressing on the gas so that the car can move backwards in which I'm pleased it's able to move alright despite the crash, as Noire tells me where Plutia is going, after daring to peek a bit after the gun fire has died down a fair amount only for it to start up again.

While I would have preferred to do a reverse 180 outside the car park, to reduce the risk of having our tyres shot from having to temporarily slow down to perform the maneuverer, there is the concern that the enemy will try and box us in and take us out, and we need to get out of this car park fast if we're to stand a chance of beginning the pursuit, and this car despite being a quick car isn't particularly quick in reverse.

I decide to do a reverse 180 as quickly as I can, and upon peeking and seeing the exit to the outside of the car park, and it not being blocked at least for now, I step on the pedal while Noire and Uni do their best to fire from cover, hoping to get enemy soldiers or even better, wheels of vehicles so they can't be used to pursue us.

I then peek again to see if the exit is still clear, only to find two cars in front which I notice to be Oldsmobile 88s attempt to block us but with me noticing it, I shoot the front tires nearest to me of the car to my left so that the car is forced to slow down, and this proves to be enough as while the other car is still able to move, I just need to move closer to the stopped car, and I was able to get out of the car park just before I was rammed. In fact just as I noticed being in the exit, we heard a loud crash pleasing us as it means they won't be able to pursue us via the car park or at least they'll be delayed.

With there being apparently less gunfire I along with the Lastation CPU and CPU Candidate, feel more comfortable peeking out which I need to do if I am to drive effectively. I see the sadist's car in front driving as quick as they can, and I have no doubt that the occupants are concerned that we're still here, especially after escaping from the car park. It's unfortunate to leave our allies there, but at least this is a nightmare and we need to defeat Plutia and her allies to win the nightmare, and save our world.

If we can survive here, just as we've survived all the way through, then we can keep up the pursuit. I'm confident in my abilities to drive even if the controls are different here and therefore Plutia will be as good as captured.

The thing is though, there is the issue of having to take cover from enemy gunfire from enemy cars, and if we are to be able to capture the sadist rather than destroy the vehicle despite the latter being easier, due to us needing the location of the others, then we need to wait before she's alone and then take out her car without killing the occupants, then capture them. Defeating all the escorts will not be easy, as no doubt this area we're at is their territory, and will be full of cars full of soldiers armed to the teeth. If we can deal with the rear and then the front if possible, that should help.

There's also the concern of being ambushed especially as a purple Oldsmobile Delta turns to the street that we're on, and is attempting to ram towards us which would force us to stop us in our tracks, allowing them to box us in. Out of instinct due to me not wanting to slow my car down trying to swerve away, especially as there appears to be little time to react, I fire the GP25 at the enemy car which destroys it completely leaving a fire from its engine.

This is a relief, to be able to avoid having our car smashed into, which could kill us or cause us severe damage at least, as I remember how dangerous it is to be in a car accident, and while seatbelts would help, we need to be able to duck below to protect us from the gunfire. The trouble is, that I have to reload the grenade launcher and doing it while driving, and with one hand it will be a challenge, unless I can do it with two hands at a point where I can drive in a straight line, but it won't make it that much easier.

Realising that passing the weapon to my Lastation CPU and Candidate would be counterproductive since it would take longer, and one of them would not be able to fire at the pursuing enemy any longer for a while, I was about to reload the weapon as best as I can, but then I notice Anonydeath trying to attack.

Because even if I could fire first it would not be enough to kill him, I am forced to duck while firing back from cover. This is not ideal as now I daren't peek out and look at the road, and this means that they'll be able to ram the car and we will not have any means to do anything about it. There's only one thing that can be done, and that with our cars travelling about the same speed but not the fastest speed we can go, I decide to speed up and take over Plutia's car, at least that way, I can look at the road while driving, and the creep will have to deal with two people, and two people who are better able to fight as they just have to fire their guns rather than drive and shoot, and can therefore duck behind cover with less issues.

Saying this, I can only hope that both Noire and Uni can survive since he'll no doubt take lots and lots of gun fire to be taken down, and then there's also the issue of enemy pursuers, not to mention avoiding taking out the driver of Plutia's car since we'll have no way of capturing her here, not with all the enemies about.

Enemies such as this car, which is another Dodge Monaco this time in yellow, in which they charge at us like last time. Unlike last time though, I have no grenade armed, and no time to arm it. I only have some bullets left in my gun and so I'll have to spray and pray at the car from cover, in hopes that taking out the driver will mean I can dodge the incoming car much easier.

I do my best to fire from cover, and I feel dread when I inevitably run out of bullets in my weapon, and can only peek again only to find that the enemy have stopped firing, and I must have managed to take out the driver. I breathe a huge sigh of relief, and I can't help but feel the amount of times that we've survived by luck, and I'm trying not to think about how the luck could run out soon enough, and how important it is to maintain our best, even if the odds being repeatedly stacked against us, can take its toll on all of us. I daren't look to see how my allies are doing, but I can be certain that they are doing their best.

Meanwhile, I need to reload and reload now, and making use of the straight road, and the fact that the enemies are behind us, I quickly reload my gun with both of my hands. I reload the magazine first before inserting a fresh grenade into the GP25. It's just as well that I've reloaded my weapon when I did, for my allies at the back calmly yet urgently request for me to use my grenade on an enemy car that's full of enemy troops that are taking serious punishment from our bullets.

Hoping that I don't crash in the meantime as I'll have to look behind me to aim, I turn around and despite it being a bit awkward as I only have one hand holding the weapon, and this being the area where I can fire the GP25, not to mention being able to aim the weapon such that it won't hit any of our car, but the bonnet of the enemy car where the engine is likely to be, I manage to fire the grenade launcher and hit the target. Noticing an explosion and then a smoky fire coming from the bonnet, I quickly turn around, not wanting to spend any more time looking, even if it's to find out how my Lastation siblings are doing at the back.

At the front, more enemies have appeared in the same model of cars and colours as before, from different roads that connect to this one, though rather than trying to ram into us they're just ahead, trying to shoot at me forcing me to duck. I ask my allies in the back to see how they're getting on, only for them to say that they're busy and they're dealing with many enemies, just like I am at the front. I have no choice but to spray and pray and peek every now and then, to make sure that I don't crash into anything and hope that this will be enough to kill them. It's frustrating as with them being in different cars, it means that there's many places where they can shoot, and it's hard to keep track of them, to make sure that I can shoot them before they can shoot me.

I reload my gun and it's then that after having another look in front, do I then see a helicopter which I believe to be a Brantly B-2B in front heavily armed. This worries me deeply as I fear that those guns will be able to fire armour piercing rounds, and even if it doesn't kill us, it can cause significant damage to the car and perhaps render it unusable if not destroy it completely. Yet we have no anti-air, or armour piercing rounds of our own. Still there is one thing that I could try, and that would be to shoot the rotor, which would at least cause the helicopter to spin, and stop them from attacking us due to the speed of rotation being too much to provide a clear shot, and the risk of them taking out their own vehicles by mistake. The target is far away and my weapon is not ideal for that range, but still that's all I have.

Before it has a chance to open fire, I open fire at the rotor, and just as I run out of bullets I manage to destroy the rear rotor, causing the helicopter to spin wildly. Interestingly enough, just before the helicopter was damaged, it did fire a few bullets in our direction but it hasn't done any evident damage to us or the car.

I quickly reload my gun before finishing off the enemies in which there's less of them now from cover as best as I could. After which noticing that the enemy are trying to slow us down by driving in a formation in front, knowing that there's less chance for me to get shot, I sit up like a normal driver and aim for the tyres in front which I manage to do. I shoot a couple at first so that I can just drive around them, but then the other cars stop entirely, no doubt to pursue us at the back.

Then as if on cue, there's a loud crash coming from behind us, no doubt the helicopter finally crashed after spinning for a while in the air, and perhaps hitting one of the buildings. This is good as its size means that the road behind us is blocked off to some extent, at least until we go past some junctions, but even this will have delayed some cars pursuing us for a significant amount of time hopefully. After which Plutia's car then speeds up to the front, no doubt trying to get away from the helicopter crashing, or to try and attack me since it's just me or both.

Knowing that Anonydeath is with them and how tough he is, we instinctively duck while he opens fire, and it's only thanks to this that we survive the attack. At least we have a window of opportunity to try and kill him now albeit a short one assuming he needs to reload now, but our concern is, is how much more damage he can take, since it's only a matter of time before they get lucky, and one of their shots hits us and we have no means of providing medical attention if they get hit.

Still, we can only do our best and hope that the ammunition we have remaining, will be able to carry us through this car chase, and then the foot chase afterwards, in which I have no doubt whatsoever that this will happen, as I put my foot on the acceleration to drive past Plutia's car, and attack Anonydeath with an entire magazine worth of bullets. Just as we figured though, he survives the bullets, and there's no way of knowing how close we are to killing him.

At least we're in front of them now, though I'll need to keep my foot on the accelerator despite it not being easy to do so due to the circumstances, and ensure that Plutia's car does not overtake us again, even if there is the risk of them just taking a turn and us not noticing, in which we need to ensure that we can keep a good eye on our target car.

By this point, there doesn't appear to be any enemies in front, though that doesn't mean that this is it. I sense that there'll be more coming and I find that we go past a few roads connecting to the street we're on, and I get the sense that we're going to get ambushed, which increases in intensity the more roads we pass. If only I knew when that would be the case, perhaps this is the point, for them to make us think that the front is clear so we just focus on the back, and then ambush at the front again. I won't assist at the back, not while I'm driving, not when I need to keep my eye for any obstacles be it cars or buildings, if we end up having to make a turn.

It's just as well that I look around since to the right, I notice a couple of enemy cars of the same model as what we've seen before, that are about to crash into us, and it's only because of swerving away a fair amount and managing to take out their tyres with my gun while taking cover as best I can, that it fails, which is an immense relief to say the least, and I have to say we've been having a lot of them. Maybe it's because we make our own luck, I hope so because it's not good to rely on enemy mistakes, especially as that can lead to underestimating them, and paying the price for it.

I look to the left knowing that there's bound to be something there as part of their attack, only to find that there are also enemy cars of the same make and model, attempting to ram us. I do the same maneuverers again and like before I survive it albeit barely. In fact I sense that it was even closer than last time.

I reload my weapon as quickly as possible despite recovering from the stress of what just happened, as I find myself breathing deeply with relief as to how close we were to dying then. Unfortunately just as I was about to finish reloading, I notice a helicopter of the same model as before, hovering above us maintaining the same speed as us.

While the helicopter isn't able to shoot at us from where it is relative to us, I am certain that they will have bombs or grenades that they'll use to destroy the car that we're in. I intended to look around before looking up carefully to see if there is an enemy leaning out for me to shoot, only for me to hear a loud explosion from behind me, in which I ask Noire and Uni what that was only for them to tell me that it was the destruction of the helicopter caused by shooting a grenade one of the soldiers held.

I have to say that they really are determined to protect Plutia if they've deployed a second helicopter, I wonder how many more they have, or even what other forms of hardware do they have available? It's best not to think about that right now, especially as all of a sudden I find that someone is on the top of our car, and I'm informed by my Lastation female allies that it's Anonydeath, and they must have seen him get on top of their car to jump.

This doesn't bode well, perhaps our luck is running out after all, for all he has to do is to lean or step to the boot or bonnet and open fire at us and we're done for, for we'll have nowhere to hide from where he'll be.

There is only one thing to do along with trying to shoot him as best we can, without being shot at in return, which will be very difficult especially with there still being enemies out there, this is to swerve the car a lot in an attempt to shake him off, or at least force him to balance himself so that he is unable to fire his weapon. I would even resort to crashing this car into the sides of buildings and other cars, but that would slow us down and risk harming us and our vehicle.

The thing is, it would be hard to know if that creepy stalker Anonydeath is able to remain stable, while standing on top of the car roof as I swerve the vehicle vigorously without slowing down too much. We can only do our best to defeat him, if we are to capture that sadistic pathetic excuse of a woman.

I realise that the best tactic would be to just swerve and we don't bother attacking him, unless a part of him can be seen through the windows of the car, in which I hope he's in no fit state to attack us as that would prove disastrous. That way we reduce exposure and instead we can take out the enemies, and hopefully we'll have a window of opportunity to knock him over or something. Even better, my swerving could hopefully be enough to knock him off the car, and hopefully even if he won't be defeated he'll be out of the battle. Then again that's no guarantee he wouldn't show up later in the nightmare.

I swerve for a while, trying to maintain the balance between the amount of swerving that I do, and driving as quickly as possible since there's still the matter of maintaining our pursuit of Plutia. At the same time, I look ahead for enemies who could try to ambush us with whatever weapons they have at their disposal, in which I find that there are only a couple of cars of the same make and colour as before, and I quickly duck and shoot from cover for a short while, finding that there's no gunfire coming in my direction. I then peek to see that there are no enemies there, in fact there are no cars there at all and they must have slowed down so that they can pursue us.

The thing, is I have no way of knowing for sure if my tactic is working, in fact I'm finding myself coming to the conclusion that swerving the car we're in isn't enough, I'll have to find another way but what? It is then that I notice that we're still driving past buildings in which they're all built next to each other, with no spaces between them like terraces. This gives me an idea.

I realise that if I drive close to one side, I could put off the creepy stalker from attacking at that side, due to me being able to quickly swerve into the buildings next to me, and this would damage him severely if not kill them. While there is the concern of him attacking on the other side, if I am able to see him via peeking out of our car as small amount as possible, then I can hopefully notice him trying to lean on the other side, and quickly drive to the other side of the street where the buildings are, and try to crush him that way, or at least to cause severe damage and kill him when we have the chance, while he's distracted and in agonising pain.

This is a risky strategy considering the time it would take for him to lean, compared to the time it would take for me to move the car to the other side of the street, such that I can crush him with our car being that close to the buildings themselves, not to mention being exposed however little to enemy fire. Then there's crashing the car, but I have no other choice.

Before I can put this plan into action though, I notice more enemy cars looking the same as before in front with enemies at the back trying to shoot at me. Nuts this is going to be more difficult if not impossible to defeat Anonydeath now. There's no choice but to do both swerve and shoot at the same time as best as possible. The thing is after doing both as best as I can, I realise that if I can swerve towards the cars and be in the middle of them both, then perhaps the creep may not dare to attack us as we try to deal with enemies. That way I can quickly resume to my original plan and be able to pull it off, no matter how unlikely the chances of success are.

Annoyingly though I find myself having to take cover from the enemy fire coming in my direction, and I am having to swerve while firing back, not being sure of my exact bearings with regards the car relative to the side of the street, or even where the cars are relative to ours. Eventually though I'm going to have to reload my weapon and take another peek, if I am to see what enemies there are and where I need to be.

As predicted it's just as well that I peek, for I have just enough time to swerve away from the car in front, as I would have crashed into it if I hadn't, and with my swerve around the car, I'm now in between both vehicles and I attempt to drive off away from them both. What I didn't predict though was a loud groan of pain coming from the top of the car, and it sounded like it came from the creepy stalker. No doubt this has brought a smile to all our faces.

Well that was interesting to actually get Anonydeath, but in a manner I didn't expect to happen, and to be in such circumstances where our deaths were much more certain, in fact an actual guarantee it seemed. The problem is it's hard without having a proper look as to where he is, and how much longer will he last in this nightmare. I can only wait until I can have a proper look, but first it's best to reload my weapon while I have the opportunity, and then hope that we can get him without having to lean out a lot, to be able to get him while he's on the roof, along with hoping that he's too groggy to fight, after having such a nasty bruise from the impact of the car.

After reloading and repeated looking to see if there are enemies in front only to find that there are not, and it's been the case for what seems like a while, I quickly look behind me only to see the creep lying over the window to the other side of where I'm sat. I get the sense that he's too groggy to fight, and with us being desperate to kill him before he can recover, I quickly drive the car towards the side of the buildings while still being parallel to it, so that the building will hit Anonydeath, causing him even more pain and eventually kill him, for while we could just shoot him, we need to conserve the bullets to deal with the remaining enemy soldiers.

The problem is while the creep is taking serious damage from being sandwiched between the car and the building really tight, he's still alive, and it looks like we may have to resort to shooting him, especially since it's taking too long to kill him, and it's only a matter of time before more enemy reinforcements show up. At least with the pain he's in he's in no fit shape to fight, but I'd rather he be dead here in hopes that he won't come back in this nightmare, since he's a tough enemy to kill, especially when we always seem to be heavily outnumbered and outgunned.

Eventually, though I feel though it's too long for our liking due to the worry of more enemies coming, and it being too much for us to deal with, Noire confirms Anonydeath to be dead at last. Now all that should stand between us and Plutia, are just escorts since no one else from the sadist's vehicle has attempted to attack us, no doubt being because the Planeptune CPEwwww is in no fit state to fight, and she has someone else in there having to provide medical attention, and the means to ensure she can run quickly again without any hindrance, along with a driver who can focus on getting away.

With me finding that there are still no enemies in front, I look behind quickly only to see my Lastation allies still engaging the pursuers. I wonder if there are no more escorts left for them to send and that our desires to capture Plutia are really close. But then I wonder if there'll be an ambush if we're to approach the sadist, and we'll have no cover to protect ourselves. Then again there could be an ambush at any place we wish to attempt our capture of the vile female, and with them being in control of where they go, anywhere they pick will not be an ideal location for us to take out their car and capture them for interrogation. We'll have to do a snatch and grab as quickly as we can…. That is if we can deal with the new enemy cars that have appeared and attempted to take us down.

There's a lot of them and they appear to be in formation, though this time they don't appear to be trying to attack us with the troops inside, perhaps because they don't want to risk getting killed by us, and would prefer to strike when we're completely boxed in. Still this won't work for I can just shoot tyres of certain vehicles at a time, so that their formation is broken, and while in response the enemy soldiers in the back of those cars try to fight back, I just mow them down while hiding at the same time.

I do find that there are times when they almost hit me, and I find once again that if I was second slower then I would have been shot, and there are times when I peek thinking that the coast is clear only to find that it isn't, but eventually one by one, they all fall to me and I'm told by my allies at the back that the enemy cars pursuing us have been defeated.

Now it appears that it's just Plutia's car left to take out, and to capture her and take her to a safe location, where we can interrogate her and find the location of her allies, but the problem is that it turns out that in all this fighting, our target car has managed to make a turn without us noticing in hopes that they can lose us.

Saying this is not good would be unbelievable understatement, to go through all of those cars, those helicopters, deal with Anonydeath not to mention escaping the car park along with dealing with the enemies in parliament, or even the battles fought to get to there, only to potentially lose them. While we could get out of here and gather any possible troops and weapons relatively close by to find them, we cannot be sure that it would work, there's nothing else for it but to reverse in hopes that we can still see them and carry on with the pursuit.

I quickly reverse the car towards the junctions we've passed, and look to see if Plutia's car took that road. We find it but we then see that it's about to turn, and the problem is that if it does we may not be able to track it, we'll have to shoot the tyres in hopes that they'll either be forced to get another car or travel by foot, either way will not be ideal for us but we have no other choice if we are to be able to capture the sadistic sadist alive.

As the window of opportunity grows more and more slim, we take aim and fire at the tyres, not knowing whether it'll be enough to destroy the tyres, and preparing ourselves into dealing with any enemies that come, and being sure that if they decide to go on foot, that we can maintain pursuit and do not lose them, despite the concerns of surviving getting out of the car and into the building.

This is the problem, it is my strategies and thinking that ensures our success in defeating enemies and achieving objectives, and yet right now other than to shoot the tyres so that we can catch up to them, I have no idea on how to ensure they can be captured at least right now, if they are to go on foot, since we have managed to keep up with them and defeat their escorts, for I fear that if we follow them then there's a risk of being ambushed, if we attempt to find them from where we are, what if they cannot be found?

Well, there's no time for that right now, at least the situation while bleak isn't bleak enough for us to be defeated just yet, and we can only hope that we can stop their car, and that while it's likely they'll go on foot and there'll be multiple enemies, and will have to rely on luck to stop them, we will stop them, and once we do it'll be a significant to step to getting out of this nightmare, for we'll have taken out a Planeptune CPU, and hopefully have the information of at least one of them and be able to ultimately defeat them all, and then we can wake up and carry on our fight to maintain Lastation's defence and prosperity, and liberate Lowee so that we all have a better chance of liberating and freeing Gameindustri from the grip of tyranny which affects us all in such varying but negative ways.
