Call of the Phantom: Part 4

Danny gasped, shooting up into a sitting position. His vision was blurry as he looked around, though it seemed to slowly be fading back to normal. A hand gripped his shoulder, startling Danny and drawing his attention to his right. Purple eyes met blue as Sam's concerned face began to clear up.

"Easy, big guy," Sam said softly. "Deep, calm breaths."

"Wha-what happened? Where am I?" Danny asked, his heartbeat slowing further and further to its normal pace.

"You're in the Lab," Danielle said as she kneeled opposite Sam on his left.

"How…how'd I get on the floor?"

"No Idea," Tucker said as he and Jake stood in front of him. "Ellie found you passed out down here and came to get us." Danny turned to his little sister who looked worried.

"I got up to get a glass of water, and saw that you weren't in your spot," she explained. "I came to see if you were down here and when I got here, you were passed out on the floor. I tried to wake you up, but when you didn't, I went to get everybody else."

"Do you remember anything from before you passed out?" Sam asked.

Bringing a hand to his head, Danny thought back, trying to remember how he had gotten down here. His memory was foggy, and his head was pounding, but it was starting to clear up.

Danny remembered coming down to the Lab because he couldn't sleep. The events of the last 24 hours were still plaguing his mind, and it was no doubt the reason he had come downstairs. He remembered that there was a light flashing, and running over to the portal-

"The portal!" He said suddenly, looking past his friends to the closed hazard doors.

"It's still closed," Sam said, sadly as she assumed he was hoping that it may have opened on its own.

"Right…still closed," he said, looking down into his lap. It may be closed now, but Danny knew for a fact that the portal had opened back up last night. But that wasn't the end of it; not even close.

A sudden throbbing in his back quickly reminded him of the fact that not only had the portal opened, but something had come out of it. Ghosts. Two of them that were like octopuses. A sudden chill of dread hit Danny as he remembered the hungry look in their eyes as one had him in its tentacle and was prepared to eat him.

How am I even alive? He thought to himself, looking around the room. The table was still standing, somehow having been righted and back on its legs, though the various contents were still missing and had been cleaned up from the floor. Save for one.

Danny stared at the thermos as it sat on the table, before looking to his hand.

The ring was missing.

Something wasn't adding up. The two ghosts were missing, the lab had been cleared out and put back together, and yet, Danny couldn't remember doing anything. He could recall putting the ring on his finger, but after that, nothing more. His vision had gone black, and he could vaguely recall hearing a voice, though who's it was, he had no idea. As these thoughts raced through his mind, he turned back to his sister.

"Ellie," he said, tone cautious as he didn't know how to ask this, nor did he want to scare anyone. "Did…did you see anything else when you came downstairs?"

Danielle looked at him, confused. "No. Only thing I saw was you laying on the floor."

Danny bit his lip, panic pulsing in his veins. What had happened when he blacked out? Had he tried to fight the ghosts? Did they possess him? Or maybe they fled from here and were now out, terrorizing the streets. The only problem with that logic was that it wouldn't explain how the Lab was put back together. In fact, that didn't explain anything.

Danny's headache only seemed to be getting worse, causing him to groan and close his eyes.

"Here, drink some water," Sam as she handed him a glass. Danny took it gratefully, and downed the entire thing in only a few gulps, not even realizing how dehydrated he was. The pain started to subside, so Danny nodded his head and smiled in appreciation to his friend.

"What time is it?" He asked, realizing that everyone was still in their pajamas.

"A little past 5 am," Jake said, his hair disheveled and eyelids drooping, indicating he was still very exhausted.

"What about Jazz? Does she know about this?"

"No," Danielle said. "I didn't want to have to wake her up unless it was really serious. Plus, we still haven't figured out what we're gonna tell her about Mom and Dad."

"Well, what about the truth?" Tucker suggested.

"Are you insane, Tucker? We can't tell her the truth about any of this," Danielle replied. "Out of all of us, Jazz believes in ghosts the least. You really think she would believe us if we told her that some crazy ghost took them?"

"Dude, you literally have an interdimensional hole in your basement wall. What more proof do you need!?"

"Yeah, that'd be great, if we could actually get the stupid thing to open up- "

A loud rumbling began to shake the room, startling everyone as they got to their feet. The same light from the night before began to flash, instantly putting Danny back on edge while the others only looked around in confusion. They were all instantly startled by the sound of an alarm blaring as it rang off the walls.

"Oh great! What now!?" Jake cried out over it to be heard.

"Multiple Ecto-Entities Emerging" a computerized voice chimed in.

"The portal…" Danny whispered, running over to the panel and trying to ignore the strong feeling of Déjà vu he was feeling. He quickly looked over the screen, ignoring the fact that the sound now appeared to be on which was no doubt causing the alarms to go off. The others followed behind him, peering over his shoulders to see the screen as a mass of beeps headed straight for the small portal icon on the screen. A loud pounding resounded against the metal doors, drawing their panicked expressions to it. "Oh no…"

"What the hell do we do now!?" Jake shouted in fear.

"Well, as long as the doors hold and stay closed, we don't have to do anything, right?" Sam said, hopefully.

"DNA recognized. Welcome, Danny." The panel said, as it finished scanning his thumbprint. "Opening portal doors, now."

Five mouths dropped open, stunned and terrified looks going across them all as the doors gave a small hiss. Danny could feel the urge to curse his parents' technological genius to the heavens and back for putting in an automatic DNA scanner that required no actual effort on anyone's part to use. As the doors began to slide open, Danny could only think of one thing to say.

"Ah crap."

"Everyone, get down!" Danielle shouted, hitting the floor. The others followed soon after, thankfully not a moment too soon.

As the doors finished opening and everyone found themselves on the floor, numerous creatures poured out of the portal, shooting over their heads. Looking up from the floor in terror, they could do nothing more then watch as the ghosts swirled around, cackling and laughing menacingly before slipping through the floor, and out of the lab, one after another.

As the last one vanished, everyone slowly got to their feet, scared to make any moves on the chance that one of the ghosts may come back or suddenly appear.

"What the hell! What the actual hell!" Jake cried out, his heart pounding in his chest frantically. "Those things just came charging out of there like water from a fire hose!"

"Yes, we saw, Jake! Thanks for the play by play," Sam said sarcastically.

"What do we do now!? Those things could be anywhere doing who knows what," Tucker said before an explosion went off nearby. The underground structure shook, nearly knocking them all off their feet. "Oh, that can't be good."

"Come on, we have to go see what's going on!" Danny said, charging forward toward the stairs. The others followed, staying on his heels. Danny wasted no time climbing the stairs and running through the kitchen, getting to the living room just as another explosion went off, once again nearly knocking them all off their feet. "Let's get to the Ops Center!" he declared, already heading that way.

Their feet pounded against the stairs, and down the hallway as they ran past all their bedrooms and to the metal stairs leading up to the Operations Center. Danielle paused, peaking into her sister's room to ensure that she was alright. To no one's surprise, Jazz was still completely knocked, sleep mask over her eyes and earmuffs to block all sounds. Danielle rolled her eyes and turned back to the stairs to continue to follow the others.

The various machines and buttons went unnoticed by all as they looked out the windows and across the city, shocked at the scene before them. The sound of screams coming from the streets reached their ears as people ran around in hysterical panic. Cars had already started to swerve and crash into each other, one having caught fire and exploded.

The group could only watch in horror as their town we terrorized.

"This is insane! Somebody's gotta do something or the town is gonna be history!" Tucker shouted, looking to his friends.

"Like who? Their parents aren't here and they're the only ones who had any idea on how to deal with ghosts!" Jake yelled back at him.

"Us! We can do something!"

"Tucker, have you lost your mind!?" Sam said. "Those things would tear us apart! How do you expect anyone, let allow us, to stop them?"

"With the rings, Sam! We have the rings that Clockwork gave us!"

"You can't be serious! This isn't the time for your stupid superhero delusion!"

"This is exactly the time for that, Sam!" He shouted back at her heatedly. "Clockwork gave us those rings for this very reason! This is exactly what he warned us about, and exactly what we're supposed to stop from happening! I mean, look at what's happening out there! If we don't do something, there won't be an Amity Park to call home!"

"How do you expect jewelry to help us stop any of this!? We don't even know if those things work!" Sam debated back.

"Yes, we do," Danny said, bringing the argument to a pause. Clenching his fists, Danny turned to his confused friends. "The rings do work."

"Danny, what are you talking about?" She asked.

"Last night…when I was in the lab, I was attacked by a pair of ghosts. They came through the portal and one from them grabbed me and threw me into the table. I... thought I was going to die, and so, I put my ring on to see if anything would happen. I don't know what actually happened because I blacked out, but…well, I'm still here so something must have happened."

"Danny, that's still not solid proof that you weren't just imagining something you dreamt," Sam said reluctantly. "For all we know, you dreamed all that when you were knocked out."

"He wasn't dreaming it," Danielle said, eyes turned down to the floor.

"What do you mean? How do you know?" Jake asked.

"Because I saw Danny with my own two eyes," she admitted.

"You saw me?" Danny asked, surprised. Danielle nodded her head in confirmation.

"I heard a loud bang in the basement, so I ran down there to go and see what was going on. When I got down there, I saw you, standing there with your head down and two octopus ghosts heading toward you. I screamed at you to run, but it was like you couldn't hear me or you were ignoring me. Then, out of nowhere, you started glowing and you looked different. You looked like a ghost, and then you said- "

"Ready or not…here comes Reaper…" Danny said, as it all started to come back to him.

"You fought them, Danny. And you won," Danielle said, looking up at her brother. "They didn't stand a chance against you, and you tossed them back into the portal. After it was all over, I called out to you again, and that time, you looked back, and you smiled at me."

"I remember that" he said, nodding. "You had this really scared look on your face, and I told you it would be ok."

"And I believed you," she said with confidence before turning to look back at the others. "That's why, I think we should all give it a try. I mean, what do we have to lose?"

"Our lives? Our sanity? Any chance we have to actually see our next birthdays," Jake replied, crossing his arms.

Sam bit her lip, looking back outside before looking back to Danielle.

"Ellie…are you sure about what you saw?" She asked.

"I'm absolutely sure, Sam."

"Well…. I guess it doesn't look like we really have much of a choice anymore, do we?" She said, taking a deep breath.

"Sam, you don't have to do this," Danny said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You already made your choice, and I don't want you to feel like you have to if you're not comfortable."

"Thanks, Danny, but it's okay. I can't abandon you guys. I won't. As terrified as I am, we're all a part of this, and if you've made your choice, then I'll respect that and do my part."

Danny paused looking to the ground for a moment before looking back to the others.

"I have to be honest with you guys; I still haven't made up my mind on whether or not I want to do this. But" he paused, looking back out the window as the world, his home, was being ravaged and destroyed. "Whether I want to or not, we HAVE to do something about what's going on out there right now." Taking a deep breath, he turned back to them all. "If anyone wants to back out, now is the time to do it because once we go out there, there's no going back."

"You already know I'm in, dude," Tucker said with a grin as he pumped his fist.

"Well, I may not be as excited by this as hero boy over there, but I'm in too, Danny," Danielle agreed. Looking to her friend, she asked, "Jake?"

The young blonde shrugged his shoulders and walked over to stand next to her. "Well, if everybody else is doing it, no point in me trying to get out of it. Besides, Youngblood ain't afraid of no ghost."

"You were just freaking out like two minutes ago. And besides, isn't that a movie thing?"

"Alright! Let's do it!" Tucker cheered. "Let's be superheroes!"

"Focus guys," Danny said, though he couldn't help grinning as well. "Now that that's decided, we need to get downstairs and get the thermos with the rings."

"No need," Danielle said, digging into her pockets. As she opened her outstretched palms, she presented the rings to them, all of which seemed to sparkle, even in the dull morning light of the Ops Center. "I picked them up off the floor while cleaning the lab after you passed out. I took yours too because I didn't know if it had anything to do with you falling out like that and didn't get a chance to put them back."

"Well, it's a good thing you didn't," Danny said, taking his black ring and sliding it onto his right ring finger. Sam, Tucker and Jake did the same, leaving Danielle's white gemstone in her hand. She closed her fist around it, pausing for a moment before putting it on her finger as well. The rings all began to pulsate, as if they were beating hearts, synchronizing themselves with their wearers.

"Alright, they're on," Sam said, trying to keep her nerves steady. "Now what?"

"We just say the words, right? The ones that Clockwork told us," Tucker said, though there was a hint of uncertainty in his words.

"Hold it. No one say anything." A voice said, startling them all. The room suddenly disappeared, leaving them all surrounded by darkness, though they were still able to see each other clear as day. Their rings began to shine, blinding them all momentarily in the darkness as beams shot out, their bright energy swirling around in front of them. Five figures began to appear as they took shape from the light, shifting and changing, presenting themselves in fine cloaks of various colors, surrounded by white auras.

Danny gapped at the figure before him, a deep black cloak covering his face, though his grin was easily visible.

"You!" He declared. "You're the voice I heard last night before I blacked out!"

"Well, good to know the guy the ring chose to bear my power isn't a complete idiot." The being said. "Or a coward."

"Behave yourself, Reaper," The purple cloaked figure next to him said, a playful smile on her face as she floated before Sam. "They're only children. This is a big responsibility they're taking on, and this can't be easy to do."

"I don't know," The blue cloaked figure said, his voice deep and booming as he sized Tucker up. "I think my ring is broken. I mean look at him; he's scrawny as hell."

"Hey! I might be scrawny, but brains can beat brawn in the right hands," Tucker defended as he stared down the figure who not only towered over him, but everyone else as well.

"At least you got one with half a brain over there, Quipu." The green cloaked one said, narrowing his eyes at Jake. "Mine looks like he's brain dead."

"Hey! My brain is plenty alive and works just fine, half or not," Jake protested. Danielle rolled her eyes at his clear stupidity. Quipu, on the other hand, laughed hardily as he looked at Jake.

"I like yours a lot, Meta. I can only imagine what he'll get up to," he said.

"Mine is so cute!" The white cloaked one said, giggling as she looked at Danielle. The girl, whose voice was unbelievably high pitched, leaned in toward her, taking a huge whiff of Danielle, which only proceeded to weird her out. The girl giggled again, clapping her hands excitedly. "Oh! I can smell the fierceness in her veins! She's gonna be a tough one!"

"Uh, thanks?" Danielle said, feeling uneasy about this whole thing.

"Ok, this is way beyond the weird scale even for me," Sam said, looking at them all. "Who are you and what do you want?"

"Are you friends of Clockwork's?" Danny asked.

"Isn't it obvious? We're the ancient spirits of the rings on your fingers," Reaper said. "Name's Reaper."

"I'm Gaia," The purple cloaked one said to Sam, smile still on her face.

"Quipu's the name, kid. Don't forget it," The blue cloaked spirit said to Tucker before looking to his white and green cloaked companions. "And these too pains in the ass are Fauna and Meta."

"Nice to meet you?" Danielle said uncertainly.

"You were the one who fought those ghosts last night," Danny confirmed to Reaper who nodded.

"Technically, yes, I fought them. Though, I was using your body, so technically you fought them with my help."

"So, you possessed Danny," Sam said accusingly.

"That's one way to look at it, I suppose. Though, you should be a bit more appreciative considering I saved your boyfriend's life," Reaper replied unhappily.

"Reaper," Gaia reprimanded before turning back to Sam. "My apologies for his attitude. He gets a bit, hot under the collar, if you will. Yes, he did possess your friend, but only because your friend was in danger and time was off the essence."

"What's that mean?" Jake asked Danielle.

"It means your buddy would have been killed if Reaper hadn't stepped in," Meta answered. "Something that could have been avoided if you brats hadn't decided to take the rings off and put them in a soup can. How did you expect us to communicate with you like that?"

"Hey, back off, alright?" Jake defended. "We didn't know what to expect. Not like Clockwork actually gave us any real direction."

"Because that's what we're for," Fauna said brightly. "We are your, literal, spirit guides."

"Our spirit guides?"

"Does this mean you guys are gonna show us how to use these rings and fight ghosts?" Tucker asked enthusiastically.

"Not exactly," Quipu answered. "We can't teach you how to do that. You'll have to learn that on your own."

"What we can do, however, is explain to you exactly what your individual powers are and guide you on how to make the most out of it and reach your full potential," Reaper said. "Listen, we're not gonna sugarcoat this. This power, the power we have, is incredibly strong. There are going to be those who wish to harness it and use it for all the wrong reasons, and it's gonna be up to you to stop them."

"But you won't be alone," Gaia said, turning to each of them. "You will all have incredible power and will face challenges that you cannot even imagine. But you will also have each other. Together, you will do great things, and it is together, that you will take this journey."

"Plus, we'll be around every now and then to keep you motivated," Quipu grinned. "Gotta make sure our powers are in good hands after all."

"You mean I'm gonna have to deal with this guy all the time?" Jake grimaced as Meta glared at him.

"Not exactly," Fauna said. "We're not going to be showing up too frequently. Only if we're really needed to. Think of us as your subconscious. We'll be there for all the fun and action, but only show up when things get particularly out of hand."

"So, after this little tutorial, you won't be hearing from us for a while. Which means you'd better listen up good, kids," Reaper said. "First, we're gonna need your names, then, we'll explain your powers to you."

"My name's Daniel Fenton; Danny," The black-haired young man said, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Daniel. I, bestow onto you, the power of Reaper," Reaper said, holding his hand out to Danny in a manner similar to that of a handshake. As Danny prepared to shake his hand, he gasped as Reaper's pale hand exploded in light as a black ring with a white aura of energy swirled around it. Danny looked back to Reaper who had a grin on his face. "Present your ring hand. Once you grasp my hand, my power will be transferred to you. By doing this, you will be tasked with leading this lot you've got with you, as your presence alone will resonate power and strike fear into those who try to oppose you. You didn't have a choice before. Now, you do."

Danny looked down to his right hand that held the black gem stoned ring on his third finger, then back to his friends, and finally Reaper. If he did this, there was no going back. He knew that. Was this what he wanted? Was this the choice he wanted to make?

A look of determination came to his face, and without another moment's hesitation, Danny grasped Reaper's hand firmly in his own. "I accept this power."

Reaper grinned even wider as Danny's blue eyes shifted to green as the black ring swirled around his hand and charged into the ring.

A few seconds went by before Reaper let go. Danny gasped, looking to him, before flexing his muscles, as if he could feel the ghost like spirit surging through his veins, which he very likely could. It was unlike any other feeling he'd ever had before.

"Whoa," he said, stunned.

"It's your turn, dear," Gaia said to Sam. Holding out her hand, Sam watched as an energetic purple ring encompassed Gaia's hand. Sam hesitated for a moment, looking to Danny who nodded to her, his blue eyes confident. Sam stared into them for a moment before nodding back, a look of determination setting itself on her face as well. Gaia smiled at this before speaking once more. "State your name."

"Samantha Manson. Sam," she said.

"Samantha. I, bestow onto you, the power of Gaia. Once you grasp my hand, you will be endowed with the Spirit of the Earth itself. You will be able to speak with plants and will draw your power from them, as well as be able to call upon them in your time of need. May the power of the Earth, serve you well."

"I accept this power," Sam declared, locking hands with the spirit. Her eyes, much like Danny's, changed to green as the purple energy circled her hand and was drawn into her ring. Quipu grinned as he turned to Tucker who looked like a kid in a candy store.

"Alright kid let's do this," he chuckled.

"Now this is what I'm talkin about!" The teen cheered, his hand already stretched out. "Tucker Foley, and I accept this power!"

"I like that spirit and your attitude, Tucker," Quipu replied as an electrifying blue ring sprang up around his oversized hand. Grasping Tucker's, which was about half his size, he stated. "I, bestow onto you, the power of Quipu. You're gonna be the backbone of this team, both mentally and physically. You will have command over information like you never had before, able to summon the knowledge you need from the depths of your mind, and anything new that you learn, will become second nature to you, and stored in your memory. Use this new knowledge and help your friends when they need it most. The plans and things you create, could be the difference between life and death."

Tucker nodded his head, a serious look on his face as his eyes glowed green and the blue electricity charged into his ring. "So, I'm basically gonna be a walking memory card. Got it."

"Oh, and another thing. Impulses are always good," Quipu said. Looking to Fauna, he said, "Alright, you're next."

The small, cloaked figure nearly squealed with excitement as she clapped her hands. Thrusting her right hand forward toward Danielle, a shimmering white ring began to spin around it.

"Name, please," she cried in a sing song like voice. Danielle hesitated, giving her an up and down look before speaking.

"Danielle Fenton," the young girl replied.

"I love it! Danielle. I, bestow onto you, the power of Fauna. With this power, you will be able to communication with and have dominion over all thing's animal, both living and dead! Your senses will be heightened, more so than all the others, and you will be able to channel the abilities of creatures at your choosing. Let the spirit of the animal serve you well."

Danielle reached out to take her hand, pausing to ask, "I'm not gonna be all super giddy and peppy like you if I do this, am I?"

Fauna giggled, replying, "Nope. You're only getting my powers, not my personality. Though, you will develop a fascination with animals, if you don't already have one."

"Well, that doesn't sound so bad."

"What she actually means is you'll be obsessed with them," Meta corrected. Danielle heaved a heavy sigh, but still grasped Fauna's hand.

"Small price to pay to save the world and my parents, I suppose," she declared, eyes changing green as the shimmering ring danced around her hand, almost like dust, before spiraling into the gem on her ring. "I accept this power."

Meta turned to Jake, glaring at him unhappily. "Alright, dumbass- "

"Actually, name's Jacob. Jacob Jemerson, aka Jake, aka Jake the Great. Or you can just call me Youngblood," he corrected, though Meta didn't seem the least bit impressed.

"Like I said, dumbass- "

"Meta…" Gaia said sternly, receiving an eye roll.

"Fine," he called back, extending his hand which was instantly surrounded by a green ring of fire. "Jacob. I, begrudgingly, bestow onto you, the power of Metamorphosis. With this power, you can change things and yourself at will. There is no limit to what you can do. The only thing limiting you is your own imagination, blah, blah, blah…"

"Is there anyone else I can get powers from?" Jake asked, grimacing as he looked at Meta's hand. "Or maybe trade with one of you guys?"

"Look, this isn't any more pleasing for me than it is you. So just shut up and take my hand so we can get this over with."

With a disgruntled groan, Jake grabbed his hand, his eyes shining green as the fire that matched it swam around his hand and into the ring. As soon as it was completed, the two jerked their hands away from each other, both giving the other a look of disgust.

"Well, that about wraps things up here," Reaper said. "You kids are on your own now."

"But don't be afraid to call upon us if things get a bit tough," Gaia said, fading away. "After all, we will be watching."

"But how do we use these powers?" Danny asked as the other ancients began to vanish as well.

"Don't worry, you'll learn quick," Reaper replied. "You'll be able to feel them out soon enough."

"Good luck everyone!" Fauna cried out before she too was gone.

"Don't do anything stupid out there," Meta said, throwing Jake one last glare before vanishing.

"Give'em hell, kid," Quipu said to Tucker. Tucker nodded his head, a thumbs up and a smile being the last thing that Quipu saw before leaving. "Oh, and small suggestion; when you take off, do it from the roof."

Reaper floated in front of Danny, giving everyone a once over before smiling and nodding. Turning his back, he began to float away, only stopping as a last thought came to him.

"One last thing. If things get hairy out there, try to find something you can use as a weapon. The more creative, the better."

"Whys that?" Danny asked, watching as the last outline of Reaper faded.

"You'll see…" his voice echoed into the dark.

The room flashed, and in an instant, they found themselves back in the Ops Center. Danny blinked, his eyes readjusting to the early morning light as it shown in from the window. Looking down to his hand, Danny could see the stone on his ring literally glowing with energy, prompting him to turn to his friends, whose rings were also glowing just as bright with the same surge of energy.

An explosion from outside jarred him from his thoughts, reminding him that they had a job to do. A fierce look came to his face, as well as to the other's faces.

"Come on guys. We've gotta get out there and do something," he said, making a beeline for the ladder that led to the roof of the Ops center.

Opening the hatch, Danny crawled out onto the roof, his eyes scanning over the town. Sam walked up to him, standing on his right and Tucker joining her on that side while Danielle stood next to her brother on the left with Jake flanking her. Danny took a deep breath, calming his nerves because this was the moment of truth.

Raising his right hand, his palm open and facing him, he cried out, "Ready?"

"Ready," the others replied in unison, mimicking his actions. None of them knew why they were doing this pose, but it felt right, and now was not the time to be questioning things like that.

Their rings began to glow even brighter, nearly blinding them, before exploding and surrounding their hands like they did when they were given their powers. A gust of wind seemed to pick up at that moment, a slight chill going through the air as the weight of their power seemed to be causing a presence or pressure around them.

Swiping their hands through the air in front of them, they all cried out, "Ancient spirit…" They then looped their palms down and under, bringing them back upwards. "Hear my call…"With one final thrust upwards, their glowing palms shot into the air, their voices echoing as they screamed out, "ARISE!"

Their bodies were instantly encased in light, completely drowning out any features of the five, though the sound was like thunder in their ears. The light could be seen across the entire city, especially with the sun barely having risen, drawing the attention of all the ghosts that were nearby, as well as a few people who had stopped to see what new horror was about to be upon them.

Little did they know that this horror, was actually a blessing in disguise.

To be continued…

Alright, well, I know it's been a long time since I've updated anything, especially this. Honestly, life just got in the way and being an adult sucks sometimes.

Anyway, this was originally going to be the last part of the "Call of the Phantom" origin chapters, but this got to be way longer then I had anticipated. Originally, I was going to just have them change and transform, but realized, they wouldn't have any idea what their powers were, how it happens or what the voice was that Danny had heard and decided to add in the Ancients to give a bit more depth to them as well build upon the lore a bit more before the story kicks off.

Next chapter will be pretty much all action and them finally becoming the Phantom Rangers and what not, so until next time, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you readers later.
