The night was rough for me. I only managed to get an hour of sleep before waking up. I sighed deeply and covered my face.
Shaymin: U- ugh… Can't sleep…
Turning onto my side, I stared forward and I laid there for a little bit before sitting up. Rubbing my eyes, I got to my feet and walked to the front door. Opening it, I walked outside slowly and sat on the stairs that lead down to the pathway.
Hugging my legs slowly, I stood quiet and enjoyed the somewhat chilly air. Slowly staring up to the sky, I saw thousands of stars as I gave a soft smile.
Shaymin: Beautiful as always…
Looking down the road, no one was around. It felt nice honestly. Sounded so peaceful. Smiling softly, I gently got up and stretched. Yawning, I shook my body as I walked down the pathway for a bit. Maybe walking for a bit will make me tired. I hope… And that's what I did. I started walking down the road. Everyone was asleep it sounded like. Not sure why, but it did kinda unease me. I'm used to the peace and quiet, but this… This kinda unsettles me. As I kept walking down the pathway and to the plaza, I noticed a building with some lights on it. Tilting my head, I slowly walked up and noticed it was some kind of bar.
Shaymin: A bar…? Guess it's a good place to stay until I get tired…
Slowly walking towards the door, I opened the door and entered.
Once I entered, there were very few Pokemon inside. A Lucario, Umbreon and Raichu. The Lucario was tending the bar and he looked up to notice me.
Saz: Huh… A late customer. Welcome. I am Saz.
Saz stretched and yawned as I walked up slowly.
Saz: Eh, we don't get many Pokemon at this time. But we stay open at 6 PM and close at 8 AM.
Slowly nodding, he walked out from behind the bar and sat down.
Saz: You new? Never seen you before.
Shaymin: Y- yeah… I… Couldn't sleep…
Saz: Ah… Welcome then. The Umbreon and Raichu are my workers. Don't mind them. But the Umbreon is Nira. The Raichu is Alk. We have been working here for about 4 years.
Shaymin: N- nice to meet you t- then…
Nira was playing a piano, looking pretty bored and tired while Alk just cleaned up and kept the bar looking spotless. I looked down slowly after checking them out as Saz stepped towards me. He had what looked like a steamy liquid in a cup.
Saz: Here. Every first comer receives my special chocolate tea.
Slowly taking it, I tilted my head.
Shaymin: Chocolate tea…?
Saz: Yep. A special mix of chocolate and mint tea. Brewed just right for a blast of flavor. One of my favorite drinks from my visitors.
Slowly nodding, I looked down and saw a mixture of brown and green. I thought tea was suppose to be cold. But I guess it's the chocolate. I took a moment before looking up at Saz. He smiled and walked back to the counter. Giving myself a moment more, I slowly took a sip and I felt my body tingle. For some reason my reaction was to gag at first but it quickly faded as I shook gently.
Shaymin: J- jeez… T- that is really strong and such a… Weird taste at first…
Saz: Heh, yeah, it's quite powerful if you are new to it.
I believed it as I tried taking a bit more. Nira then suddenly appeared next to me and stared with his blood red eyes.
Nira: A Shaymin… Huh… Never expected to see a mythical here.
Looking to the side, I stood quiet and just nodded.
Nira: I heard a new recruit joined a bit ago. Didn't expect it to be you.
Shaymin: Y- yeah…
Nira kept looking at me as his yellow rings glowed slightly. He gently poked me as I somewhat backed away from it.
Nira: Oh, my bad. Should've asked first…
Alk then walked up and pulled Nira by the tail which caused him to yelp before turning to face him.
Alk: Mate, I told you not to touch everyone who enters the shop.
Nira sighed and looked down before walking off as Alk apologized before following him into a backroom of some kind. Most likely a staff room.
Saz: Right, err… He's quite an odd one. But very good at piano. Keeping the bar alive with some music.
Looking at the piano, I tilted my head and walked up to it. It was a large grand piano which looked very well maintained. The oak wood and sleek surface shined. This made me remember the time with Azelf. Lets just say he loves music and collecting things. When I used to visit, he was always on a large piano like this. I gently sighed and smiled softly before I found myself sitting down in front of it.
Saz: Hmm?
He looked confused as I slowly tapped at the keys. The sounds came uneven and very unorganized. I continued to slowly tap the keys as more uneven sounds were produced. This went on for a minute or so before I started finding my paw placement.
Pressing the keys a bit more, it started to sound better as I shivered. Looking directly at the keys in front of me, I began going a bit faster.
As I continued, the rhythm started forming. My eyes closed slowly to narrow my vision and to focus.
Soon, I started performing decently. The rhythm went smooth with a few mistakes in the middle. But I didn't let it bother me. I just thought of Azelf. He taught me how to play piano. That's… Until he left… For another region. Right before he left he gave me a book with piano notes. I… Never used it since I didn't have a piano. But I have read over it. And that's what I tried remembering. A certain song. Into the darkness… A somewhat slow song.
Shaymin: This music… I… Feel relaxed… Such… Calming notes...
My piano skills were still slightly poor, but I was enjoying it. I gave a soft smile and finished up the song which lasted about three minutes. Slowly sitting back, I stood quiet as Saz walked up.
Saz: Hmm… Mythical Pokemon are full of surprises. That was not bad at all.
Shaymin: Huh…?
Saz: You know…
Saz stopped and walked up to me.
Saz: You can be quite a good pianist. How do you feel about working here? Nira… Well… He is mainly here on weekends. So it'd be nice if you came to perform when you feel like it.
My ears lowered as I looked to the side.
Shaymin: I… Don't know… I- I'm not that good around others…
Saz: Is that your concern? Don't worry! Due to the bar being opened from 6 PM to 8 AM, we don't have many Pokemon who come in. Might be a bit crowded around the opening, but dies down later into the night. And if you are concern about payment… I got it covered. You get paid every week.
I'm not sure why Saz jumped to hiring me so quickly… I've never had an official job before. That spiked my nervousness even more since I'm afraid I'll do something wrong. But at the same time, it might help a bit. I stood there for a moment and shook as I slowly looked at him.
Shaymin: L- let… Me think about it…
Saz: Of course…! Anyways, do you plan on staying longer? It is almost 5 in the morning.
Shaymin: Y- yeah… A little longer… I just… Couldn't sleep...
Saz: Trouble sleeping? I can give you a special tea that can help.
Shaymin: N- no, it's okay… I prefer nighttime…
Saz: Oh, alright. If you need anything, just tell me.
Nodding, he went back to tend the bar even though the building was empty. I continued sitting in front of the piano and stared down at the keys. I kept my eyes locked onto them for a bit before getting up slowly. I pushed the chair in slowly and walked around the bar.
Shaymin: Looks so clean…
Looking outside of the front windows, it was still very dark and no one was outside. However, when I scanned the outside, I heard the door open and it made me jump slightly before looking over to it. It appeared to be a Raichu who wore dark clothing with most his fur dyed mainly black and gray. This made me feel uncomfortable since he looked sketchy.
Saz: Ugh… Great…
I heard Saz sighed and mumbled before going back to his friendly persona.
Saz: Welcome back. Just the regular?
The Raichu nodded as he sat down while Saz prepared his order. Once finished, he placed it down as the Raichu stood completely silent.
Looking at this odd Raichu, I slowly backed up and went towards the front counter. I spoke quietly towards Saz.
Shaymin: W- who's that?
Saz: Don't mind him.
Shaymin: But… Why does he look like that?
Saz: He's apart of some gang or something where they paint themselves black and other dim colors… Just stay out of his way since he is known to get pissed easily.
Sitting back, I didn't want to get attacked or something, so I agreed to stay away from him. I just sat there for a bit until the Raichu was finished.
He got up from the table and didn't speak one word. He just walked up and put ten dollars on the table before leaving. I slowly looked back and noticed his odd looking tail. It wasn't shaped normally. It still somewhat shaped a lightning bolt. But it was shaped more bent and ended with a hook. But the jacket he wore had a logo. A shadowed version of a Jolteon I believe with a bolt of lightning in the background.
Shaymin: H- huh…
He stopped for a moment which caused me to tense gently. I quickly looked away for a few seconds as I soon heard the door open and shut. I let out a loud sigh and got to my feet.
Shaymin: W- well, um… I should be heading back now…
Saz: Alright. Come back anytime when we're opened.
Gently nodding, I walked towards the door and opened it. I walked out and the air was quite cold which shook me gently.
Shaymin: S- so cold for summer…
Shivering gently, I started walking home and once I reached my place, I entered and no one was awake yet. I was kinda glad.
So when I laid back down on the couch, I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep.
I woke up around noon the next day. Scorch was sitting across from me and was looking over something. Tilting my head slowly, I sat up and looked at him.
Shaymin: Scorch…?
He turned around and smiled.
Scorch: Hey. Look at this.
Looking at him, I checked what he had. It was a piece of paper. It looked like a request or something.
Scorch: I found this on the request board. Looks pretty simple for a first job.
Taking the page slowly, I checked over it. I looked over it and noticed it was a delivery request. I was a little confused at first. This was my very first request page. From what I saw, it appeared to be from a Buizel named Ry. Simply requesting a pickup and it said they were unable to due to some personal issues. Mostly family illness or something.
Shaymin: Um… T- this sounds like an okay request…
Scorch: Yep! It's not too challenging… For some reason Pokemon post stuff that seem impossible. Not even requesting help… Mainly tests and challenges.
Shaymin: I… Thought the request board is used for help only. Not um… That stuff.
Scorch: Eh, it's fine. It's somewhat rare.
Shaymin: Well, um… It says here that it isn't really important to finish quickly… B- but I have nothing to do, so uh… W- wanna try and do it?
Scorch: Just us? That's fine with me.
Smiling softly, I looked at the paper and noticed we needed to visit a certain post office that isn't here. It was somewhere known as Erkia City. I asked Scorch about it and he thought for a moment. He then got up.
Scorch: Yeah, I know that place. Few miles up North.
Shaymin: W- well then. Wanna head out now?
Scorch nodded and quickly grabbed his bag before running out. It took a moment to shake myself from a sleepy daze before I followed.
Once we were outside, Scorch grabbed my paw and quickly dragged me down and to the front of town. When we stood just outside of town, he began looking around for a moment before pointing in a direction. Most likely North.
Scorch: Okay, this way. Follow!
Scorch then ran off. I looked at him before running after him. Scorch didn't slow down as we ran for quite a while before he stopped towards a massive ravine. I nearly fell as Scorch pushed me back slightly which made me stumble. Looking a bit surprised, he examined the hole in the ground. He looked confused and tried looking around.
Scorch: Hmm… Never even saw this here before.
He looked down and his eyes widen before jumping back.
Scorch: Okay, uh, screw that. That is extremely deep.
Shaymin: N- never seen such a big ravine before…
Scorch: Yeah. I'm quite good at jumping across gaps. But err… No way. Trying to find a way across.
I slowly nodded and tried helping him. We could walk around, but this branched for quite a while. That's when I looked down and noticed a rock formation. I checked around and saw that there was a small pathway across. Thin, but looked sturdy enough. Living in the mountains, I did have to rock climb before. But this looked very dangerous. But this is the only way I saw. Looking at Scorch, I told him and he looked unsure, asking me if it was a good idea.
Shaymin: N- not sure… But we can try.
Scorch: Dude, I really don't wanna die crossing that. But… I'll try. If I feel it give ways, I'm gonna go back.
Nodding gently, I climbed down slowly and got my feet to the rocks. The rocks were luckily dry but there weren't much room. Scorch waited for me as I very carefully walked across the rocks. He followed me as I reached the crossing.
Shaymin: O- okay… Don't… Look down…
Inhaling deeply, I slowly began crossing the thin rocky bridge. The gap was most likely around 20 feet and it made me feel very nervous since this fall would be the end if something goes wrong. So I went very slowly across. I heard it crumble slightly but it remained sturdy enough and after a minute of crossing, I made it and let out a bit sigh.
Pressing my back against the wall, I made room for Scorch who was right behind me.
Scorch: N- not bad… But jeez. This is pretty sketchy.
Agreeing, I climbed up and made it to the surface again. Turning back, I helped Scorch up and once we were both up, we were laying there. I somewhat felt lightheaded from the massive drop that I just walked over.
Shaymin: O- okay… Ready to continue…?
Scorch: Yeah, I'm ready. Lets continued.
He got up as I slowly followed. He somewhat lead me around for a few before we finally reached a sign.
Scorch: Ah, there we go. City is just up ahead.
It was nice hearing that as he continued leading me. We walked for about ten minutes before seeing the city. The tallest tower blocked out the sun as I looked at it.
Scorch: I think I heard of that tower. Some kind of 'HQ Tower'. All Cities have one and it is mostly a City Hall or something.
Shaymin: H- huh… It looks pretty nice.
Scorch: Yeah, it does. Well? Lets go on!
Scorch smiled and ran towards the city as I followed quickly. It was around 3 PM by the time we reached the city as we found the post office around the massive tower. Scorch walked in as I followed still and he spoke with the Pokemon at the front counter.
Waiting, it took about five minutes before Scorch retrieved a big box. He took it and slowly walked out.
Scorch: Okay, lets deliver this.
Letting out a nod, I began following.
Scorch: Hmm… From what the request said… It's a cabin around the outskirts of this city.
Shaymin: S- sounds good. Lets go.
Scorch smiled and held the box as he walked out. We went to the location that was written on the page and once we were there, we saw the cabin that the request said.
Scorch: I'll handle this.
Shaymin: O- okay…
He then walked up to the door and knocked. It took a moment for the door to open as the same Buizel walked out. I wasn't close enough to hear them as I just sat against a tree, watching them do their thing.
They spoke for a few minutes before the Buizel gave something to Scorch and looked happy before he returned to me. I looked up and Scorch told me we should get back before it gets dark. I agreed since I would not like to cross that ravine again with very little light. So I got up as we made out way back to town.
We crossed the ravine and was walking back while Scorch talked about some random stuff.
When we arrived back to Hexa, he walked me to our house and once we were inside, Scorch finally showed me what Ry had given him. A piece of stone. I looked at him confused as he smiled.
Scorch: It might not look like much. But there is valuable ore within.
Shaymin: O- oh… That's pretty cool…
Scorch nodded and placed it somewhere safe.
Scorch: That was a fun walk and all. Wonder if we'll get more work. Well… I'm gonna head out for a little.
He walked out and left me alone in the house. It was already dark, so I decided to get some sleep since all that walking tired me out.
I walked into the bedroom and fell onto my bed and soon fell asleep.

1:30 AM
Unnamed Beach
The moon shined brightly as the water glittered. I smiled at it before hearing Mew's voice.
Mew: Are you daydreaming again?
Shaymin: Huh…? Oh, sorry.
Mew: Heh. You are so easily distracted.
Walking up to Mew, she jumped up and sat on my head.
Shaymin: I never really seen sights like these before, sorry…
She just giggled and hugged my head.
Mew: No need to be sorry. You lived in those mountains your entire life. You can't see beaches, the ocean, or more beautiful locations.
Shaymin: Y- yeah, I suppose.
Mew smiled and nodded before sliding down my back and began running up the shore. She then stopped about 20 feet away and bent down. I walked up to her before she jumped up and turned around, a smile on her face. She then extended her arms to reveal some seashells.
Mew: Look at these…! They're so pretty.
Shaymin: T- they do look pretty.
Mew: I've actually always wanted an oceanic style accessory. Necklace, bracelet… Even maybe a ring or headband. Something about the ocean always made me feel better. Just so calming and peaceful…
Gently nodding, she walked to a rock and placed the seashells in a pile while organizing them from biggest to smallest, prettiest colors, different shapes, she just organized them completely. Once she was finished, she jumped up and faced me.
Mew: There we go. Hopefully the next Pokemon to come by will admire these pretty shells.
Shaymin: I- I'm sure they will.
Mew nodded happily and ran down the beach and telling me to follow her. I looked at the seashells she displayed and tilted my head. I went over to them and collected the most prettiest and shiny ones. After collecting about 15 of them, I put them in my pocket and ran to catch up.
After catching up, we walked alongside the shore for a bit more before she wanted to go home. It was nearing two in the morning, so I agreed.
Mew didn't feel like walking and so she used me for a mount. She wrapped her arms around my neck and sat there.
When we arrived at her small house, she entered and I followed.
Mew: Why don't you sleep here for tonight? Your place is quite a distance.
Shaymin: O- oh… Sure.
Mew smiled and pointed her tail to the side.
Mew: You can sleep on my bed if you want.
Shaymin: N- no, that's okay. I can sleep out here.
Mew: You sure? Well… Okay.
Mew then walked off and into her room. Once she entered and closed the door, I went to the couch and took out the seashells. I placed them on a table quietly and started searching her house. I managed to find some string along with some tools.
After getting what I can, I sat in front of the table and started working.
It took about three hours of work, but I managed to finish what I was working on. What Mew wanted. A seashell necklace. I slowly put the tools down after finishing and smiled gently. I then looked at the door that Mew went into.
Shaymin: L- looks good enough… I hope she likes it…
Putting away the items that I took, I grabbed the necklace and carefully placed it in my bag. I then got onto the couch and stretched slightly before closing my eyes.
Once morning arrived, I awoke and there was a scent of food. I sat up and looked around before noticing Mew cooking some stuff.
Shaymin: Mew…?
Mew: Oh, hey. Just in time. Food is just about finished…!
I slowly got up as she placed some food on the table. I sat slowly as Mew sat next to me. She smiled and started eating as I did the same.
Once we were finished, I slowly took the necklace from my bag.
Shaymin: Mew…?
Mew: Yeah?
Shaymin: Um… Can you close your eyes?
Mew looked confused but did so. I got up and slowly put the necklace around her neck.
Mew: Okay… What is this feeling? Kinda tickles, heh.
Shaymin: J- just a moment more.
When I finished, I told her to open her eyes. She did so and looked into a nearby mirror. She looked a bit surprised and touched the necklace.
Shaymin: Since… Your birthday is days away… I thought you'd like it…
Mew suddenly hugged me swiftly and it nearly knocked me down. I gave a soft smile and hugged her back.
Mew: This means so much…! T- thanks…
She continued to hug me for a bit before departing and quickly running into her room. She then ran back out and held out a flower bracelet.
Mew: I finished this a week ago and wanted to give you it on July 4th… But since you gave me this, I think you'd like it now.
Slowly taking the bracelet, it appeared to be made of beautiful flowers. Some flowers that don't wither either. I smiled gently and slipped it on.
Shaymin: Thanks…
Mew smiled and nodded before running to the door. She opened it and nudged her head.
Mew: Anyways, lets get going! I want to visit your mountains." She said.
I slowly nodded and walked out as we both walked to my mountains.
Current Day
10:52 AM
Inside Guild House
Sitting at the table, I wasn't really sure what to do. It was a peaceful morning and the others were doing their own things.
However, Scorch walked up to me and sat down.
Scorch: Today is hot as hell… Ugh…
Shaymin: But… Aren't you a fire type?
Scroch: Yeah, but surprisingly it's so hot even for me…
He was sweating as she explained he was only out for a few minutes to grab some food.
Scorch: Well… I'm gonna try and cool off.
I slowly nodded as he walked into another part of the house.
For the rest of the morning, I decided to do the same...
