The day of the festival was here and I was up early due to Scorch shaking me awake. So now I was awake around eight AM while my team got ready for the day. Shock appeared to have stood up almost all night long. He was still sitting there and it appeared he had fainted but at least he completed the banner and it looked very nice honestly. I didn't want to mess with it, so I just let it there as Scorch shook Shock. He groaned and waved him off.

Shock: J- just give me a little more time...

Shock rested his head on the desk again as Scorch sighed.

Scorch: Alright then. Gonna miss out on the festival's breakfast.

Scorch shrugged and walked back to us. He stretched and stared at us.

Scorch: Well… This is certainly going to be a long week of fun.

Cloud: If you say so…

She walked off and left the house.

Scorch: Okay…! We should get ready.

Nodding, I got myself ready and after doing so, Scorch and I walked out. It seemed pretty busy like yesterday as I tried walking close to Scorch so I didn't get lost in the crowd. Scorch held my paw and soon we reached the plaza. The plaza was filled with Pokemon like before and it looked like a massive buffet. A load of fresh food and drinks. It looked so good honestly since I've never really had such food. Only fruits and vegetables because that's all I could grow.

Scorch: This is my favorite time of the year. So much good foods… Fried foods, grilled food, prepped food and lots of candy…!

He was pretty much drooling at this point thinking of all of that. Honestly, it did sound very good too, it'd be kinda nice trying all the different kinds of foods that made. From the looks of it, I even saw a large cake.

While I scanned the large selection, I noticed that Scorch just sprinted off.

Shaymin: Um… Okay… Guess I'll be here alone…

Looking around, I started walking around. I collected some food and found a free spot to eat. The weather was already hot and not a single cloud was in the sky.

It was quite a nice setting while eating and this went on for about half an hour. But while relaxing there, I heard a voice which was Autumn's.

Autumn: Everyone? Today is the day. The day that the guardian saved the town from destruction. Thanks for everyone completing their goals. Now… I didn't explain much before. So for new members… The Guardian was of course an unknown Pokemon who saved the town. But I already told the story of them. So, for anyone new, the tasks given out was to show respect and thanks to the guardian. Each year, all teams would receive a list of tasks. Upon completing everything will ensure a full Guardian Festival. And in such… The guardian would grant good luck upon the town and protect it for another year.

Autumn pulled out a large piece of wood that was carved into a bowl.

Autumn: And like other years… We shall offer different offerings to the guardian. Once everyone has offered something, we will deliver it to the shrine outside of the town. I will leave this right here, so please offer something to ensure safety.

He then left as Bolt walked up and sat down, watching over everything. It was so weird. This mysterious savior of Hexa was some kind of god it felt like. Offerings and all that. I am somewhat unsure what to think of it, but I didn't find any harm giving something. I remembered that I had some money, so I assumed money would be a good donation.

Getting up from my seat, I took about half of my cash and placed it into the bowl before walking off slowly. I wanted to find my other teammates. I already somewhat knew that Scorch would be stuffing his face or something, so I just went to find someone else. That was proven useless because there were so many around.

After struggling to get through the massive crowd, I just decided to slip to the sideline and sit. I was pretty nervous, so I just remained there and watched as everyone spoke and enjoyed the festival. It went on like this for a few hours and around four PM, I was just sitting at the beach. I enjoyed the quiet. It was peaceful.

While I sat, I did see a few Pokemon, but luckily it was only a few every once in a while. They didn't bother me and after a bit longer, I noticed Bolt walking down the stairs. She walked passed me as we looked at each other.

Bolt: Hey, why not walk with me to the shrine? Autumn is too busy this year to walk with me.

I had nothing better to do, so I accepted and got up as Bolt continued walking down the beach. I followed her quietly for a bit before she started to speak.

Bolt: So… How are you enjoying the festival so far?

Shaymin: Oh, um… I- it isn't too bad. Bit too many Pokemon… But I'm, uh, getting through it.

Bolt: Yeah, our town became quite famous after hearing of this mysterious Pokemon who saved the town. Many from many other towns and cities always come by. Guess it's to enjoy all the free food or maybe they hope to see this Pokemon. However, this Pokemon never reappeared ever again. But I don't know… Maybe after enough donations one of these years? Oh well.

Shaymin: Oh… Um… Where is this shrine?

Bolt: Deep within the mountains. The shrine is placed on the mountain top where that ball of light first appeared. So… Should take about an hour if we move fast.

Nodding gently, I kept following behind her.

Bolt: It is nice having someone here. Autumn and I always walk up here to deliver the donations each year. Though… This year, he was just so busy… I could've waited, but it was just so crowded this year. Way more then any other year, so… It's just nice having you here. Heh… Still surprised you are a Shaymin. Honestly, I thought it was a dream when you walked in for the first time.

She smiled lightly and continued walking and we stood silent for the remaining time of walking. After we walked up a snowy path, we finally reached a flat surface with a large statue. The statue didn't show any kind of Pokemon. Instead, it was a large stone carving of a star. Bolt walked up to the shrine.

Bolt: I really wish they fixed the snowmobile… But we're here now.

Shaymin: Um… A star…?

Bolt: Oh, right. Since no one really knew what Pokemon it was that saved our town… We decided to build a star. Our town's symbol is kinda a star as well. For the town, it is mostly given out as a badge for someone who greatly helped the town.

Shaymin: Huh…

Bolt nodded and smiled softly, placing the bowl of goods in front of the shrine. The offering table had all kinds of different items. Most likely others who came up not long ago.

I watched as Bolt placed her own stuff, which appeared to be a crystal. After that, she walked back and looked at me.

Bolt: Well, come on. We should get going before it gets too late.

I turned to face down the path, but while doing so, I heard Bolt who gasped in surprise then a thud. It made me jump slightly as I looked down to her. I was very confused as I saw her laying on the ground. I then looked at her legs and noticed they were wrapped in chains and metal balls.

Shaymin: W- what the…? Uh...

Bolt: Who the hell did that…?!

Bolt looked back to the shrine as I crouched down and tried to untangle them. That's when I noticed what they were.

Shaymin: Is this a… Bolas?

I tried further to cut them or something, but then I heard them.

"Damn, nice throw."

I tensed and quickly looked up to notice a Mightyena. His fur was completely black and he smirked but stopped upon seeing me.

"Double damn. Guess this is my lucky day. I expected that Sawsbuck, but even better…" He said, smirking wider.

Then out of nowhere, a Zangoose appeared from behind a tree, holding more of those throwing weapons. His fur was also completely black.

"Heh… Thanks for your donation." The Zangoose chuckled.

Bolt: D- dammit… Why these two…?

This confused me as I looked down at her.

Bolt: These two were removed from Hexa due to stealing and attacking fellow teams…

I didn't know what to do as I shook gently. Once they looked over the loot, they both turned towards me.

"Alright, you know what to do…" The Mightyena said to the Zangoose.

The Zangoose out of nowhere launched one of those things at me. It was so fast but I managed to dodge it. He then began throwing them at a fast pace. I continued to try dodging as he somehow pulled even more from pouches.

I was thinking of running, but I didn't want to abandon Bolt. All I was able to do was to avoid his attacks.

This kept going for a bit longer before I heard something approaching. I thought someone was arriving in a vehicle or something, but it wasn't. It surprised the two though. The Zangoose stopped throwing and stared behind me.

"What the hell is that?" The Mightyena asked.

Slowly turning back, I noticed a shadow high in the sky. It was nose diving towards the shrine but before striking the ground, it instead stood upright and landed on it's feet. It's fur shined brightly in the sun. When my eyes adjusted to the brightness, I looked shocked.

Large wings, sharp horn and claws, pointy tail, sleek and shiny white coat of fur.

Shaymin: A- a Mega Absol…?!

The Absol looked at the two attackers and growled. He then sighed and walked up. He walked by me and with one swift movement, he slammed his head against the two before kicking them, sending them back into the forest. I guess they ran off because they didn't rush him or something. The Absol stood there for a moment before turning back and walking up to us. Using one of his claws, he cut the string and released Bolt.

We both looked surprised as he just looked at us. He then chuckled and walked to the shrine.

"My yearly donations has arrived. Didn't really expect anyone to be here still when I arrived… But that's okay." He said.

He then looked through the items.

Bolt: W- wait… You're the Pokemon who rescued our town?

"Yep. Not what you expected, hmm…? Anyways, everyone in that town calls me the Guardian or Angel. But eh, my name is actually Sky. Or… At least that's my nickname. So just call me Sky.

Sky then resumed searching the bowl as Bolt and I looked at each other. Bolt slowly walked up to Sky and looked over him.

Bolt: T- this is quite a surprise… Our guardian for all these years turned out to be a mega Pokemon.

Sky turned back with a chocolate bar in his mouth. He simply nodded and returned with his search. Bolt slowly backed up back to me and shrugged.

Bolt: Well, we should probably get going. Guess we finally know who our guardian is.

Nodding, we turned back and started walking down the pathway.

We walked in silence and after reaching half way down the hill, we saw that blinding light flying up and deeper into the mountains.

Bolt: Huh… I'm still shocked… A mega Absol. Damn…

Shaymin: Yeah. I, uh, didn't expect that. But glad he came while he did…

Bolt nodded and crossed her arms.

Bolt: Something did make it very weird…

Shaymin: Huh? And what is that?

Bolt: He didn't… Have a mega stone.

Shaymin: Odd…

She nodded and pulled out her phone and began talking to Autumn as we kept walking. The sun was setting at this point and when we started entering the fields in front of the town, Bolt finally ended her conversation with Autumn and sighed.

Bolt: Hmm. This festival has certainly been interesting. Got to finally see the mysterious Pokemon who protected our town. It actually feels nice… I've been wanting to meet them for a long time.

We reached the town as she looked at me.

Bolt: Anyways, I need to have a meeting with Autumn. How about you enjoy the rest of the day?

I agreed as Bolt walked off into the crowd and I began trying to enjoy the rest of the evening...
