Yes, the bear was fine, Ianto has excellent reflexes. He caught it and served Owen decaf for the rest of the day.
Re: Joining In - Jack was able to trade spare parts for some interesting bits and pieces that would be more use to Torchwood. Ianto joined in with the storytelling; the bears were enthralled. Jack and Tosh sang a duet, Owen discussed medicine with the Bear medics and told bad jokes. Gwen taught the bears the Conga and the Hokey Cokey. ;)
Guest: No, these ones are just ordinary lost toy teddy bears. I suspect the Rift is semi-sentient and thought Torchwood would find a good home for them. ;) Thank you.

Scans and tests proved the bears to be completely normal, so once the Rift energy had dissipated, Ianto bagged them up and took them home.
Now he stood smiling in satisfaction at the results of his labours; fifty-three freshly laundered teddy bears, in various colours and sizes, hung on the washing line in his small backyard, swinging gently in the wind.
"So," asked Jack, "what will you do with them now?"
"Thought I'd take them over to Tŷ Hafan once they're dry and looking presentable. I'm sure they can find room for a few homeless bears."
Jack nodded approval.
"Perfect."
