I love Janto: They're so small, Myfanwy isn't interested thankfully. They will be safe once Jack and Ianto set up a few things to improve their new habitat.

Thank you.

Guest: Torchwood is already in the conservation business, protecting humanity from extinction, it doesn't take much more effort to protect a few Newts too! Thank you.

All the characters were more interesting than Gwen, yet we knew practically everything about her within a few episodes. I think you're right, they're more father and wayward daughter than anything else, despite the way Gwen lusts after Jack. I think Jack enjoys her hero-worship of him though, it does his ego good, especially with the way the Doctor treats him. Ianto, on the other hand, just treats Jack as a man, which is what Jack needs in a relationship. Being expected to live up to impossible ideas 24/7 would be too exhausting and Gwen is always quick to condemn him any time he fails to save someone, while Ianto understands how hard it is for Jack to make the impossible decisions. It wouldn't surprise me if Gwen WAS related to Jack, maybe granddaughter or great granddaughter rather than daughter though. It would make more sense to me if she was, then I'd expect Jack to be protective of her.

Yeah, when you try to squeeze existing characters into a plot that wasn't written for them, the're never going to fit right. CoE just made Torchwood look stupid and under-prepared.

I hadn't heard that Moffat was leaving Who... That's a blow! I hope someone who really cares about the show can be found to take the reins. I know a lot of fans weren't happy about Moffat and his writing, but I've really enjoyed the whole 11th Doctor run. I'm going to miss Matt Smith, he brought the fun back for me after the lacklustre specials that ended David Tennant's run. I'm not happy about having Frobisher as the new Doctor, I'm going to find it difficult to see Peter Capaldi as the Doctor when Frobisher is indelibly engraved on my brain.

Sitting by the window, Ianto watched raindrops chasing each other down the windowpane, the way he used to as a child on rainy days when he wasn't allowed outside.

The weather matched his mood; it seemed like the sky was crying, grieving for Lisa too. He'd cried for her until he had no tears left, just a hollow emptiness inside him where his heart had been.

He'd vowed to save her, but he'd failed.

A traitorous little voice in the corner of his mind whispered that there hadn't been anything left of Lisa to save.

He wished it was lying.
