Title: Working Out
Author: badly-knitted
Characters: Ianto, Jack
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Ianto likes to keep in shape, but there's one kind of exercise he favours above all others.
Disclaimer: I don't own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: For the prompt 'Isometrics and After', one of the prompts I didn't get around to using for tw100's challenge 288 last year. I've dug them out again to supplement the prompts I got from my f-list, just because there are still loads I wanted to use.

I love Janto: I almost feel sorry for Tony, he's destined to fail at life. Ianto likes to keep up to date with everything, just in case there's alien involvement. It's never a bad idea. Jack doesn't even need to make an entrance to have all eyes drawn to him. As for Detective Swanson, she's a good person to keep on the right side of; she can be tremendously helpful, but if they cross her she can make Torchwood's life hell.
Thank you =)

Guest: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm never going to just let Ianto die; it would make Jack sad. They belong together! Owen and Tosh deserved to be treated better.
I suppose it wouldn't be fun to realise you've failed so completely in creating a likeable character, but he should be grown up about it instead of behaving like a petulant child. While it's true that you can't please everyone all the time, when you realise that very few among your viewers actually like or even tolerate the character you're invested in, it should be clear that you're getting something very wrong and you need to fix it.
I would think Rhys would be furious and I doubt that he'd be very forgiving. Gwen has double standards - she's fine with using Retcon as long as it's used to benefit her and make her life easier. If it's for any other purpose, she kicks up a fuss. *rolls eyes* I think Jack does rather admire Rhys, he handled himdself well with the whole Space Whale situation - much better than Gwen did. Perhaps he also hopes that Rhys knowing about Torchwood will help keep Gwen from straying again.
Very true, early Doctor Who is famous for its wobbly sets. There is never enough time in the day, is there. We must be more or less in the same age group, though I suspect I'm probably a little older. It sneaks up on you, suddenly you can no longer claim to be fortysomething and have to admit you just slid past middle age o_O

As a Torchwood operative, Ianto knew the importance of keeping in shape. Fieldwork could be very physical; chasing Weevils, fighting hostile aliens, carrying all kinds of heavy objects. He did his best to keep to an exercise regime, but Torchwood's irregular work hours made it difficult.
Still, he swam whenever he could spare the time, went running at least three times a week and even managed to fit in some weight training.
But this was undoubtedly his favourite fitness routine.
Breathing hard, body glistening with sweat, he collapsed in a heap beside Jack.
"Nothing beats sex for a full-body workout!"
