It all started with a single email a few days after I decided to take some weeks off from my job.

An offer to become a janitor in the French head office of an international company.

'Am I being headhunted?' was the thought that crossed my mind when I glanced over the content, surprised by it. However, the most shocking detail was the monthly wage offered for joining them.

The equivalent of 10,000 US dollars, plus bonuses based on my performances.

Seeing this, I honestly thought it was either a scam or an April Fool's joke, even though we were a few days away from May.

But like any simpleton, I took the bait and decided to give them a quick call to the number I was given in the mail, leading to a small meeting with a representative of the company.

Then, I was informed by them that this was a legit invitation to join their company, one which is specialized in creating programs and the sort, as they asked me to lend them my skills that they coveted.

I didn't know what skills they were talking about, considering I never worked as a janitor once in my life nor worked with programs, and I couldn't help but to be suspicious of their offer since the salary didn't befit such a job, being too much.

However, I decided to take upon their offer when I considered the advantages I was offered by them were much better compared to my old job where I would work in hazardous conditions, spending my whole days making coffins.

I really wished I was more careful when I made that decision, not knowing that I sold out both my life and the afterlife to them.

But again, being intrepid was always one of my biggest flaws.

Sitting on a chair in a pure white room with no decors, windows or doors, I couldn't help but to let out a sigh, deeply depressed over my current situation.

I wish I could punch my past self for being too stupid... No matter how I think about it, that job offer was sketchy as hell. Damn it, I wish I could just start everything over.

That said, what will happen to me now? As soon as I stepped into the building, I somehow found myself in this bland room like magic. Yeah, I must be dreaming right now. It must be a dream, there's no way that magic and fantasy bullshit exist...

Greetings, contractor number 2434!

I blinked in surprise when I suddenly heard a voice coming from my surroundings, prompting me to look around to see that there was nothing but white everywhere.

...Where is it coming from?

As I felt chills go down my spine, I gulped my saliva before I shook my head for a moment.

No, it doesn't matter. I should listen to that voice, I feel like I'll regret it if I ignore it. But still, 2434, huh? So, it seems like I wasn't the first one who got into this situation. In a way, I'm a bit relieved that I wasn't the only idiot who got caught in this shit.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life under the Company's umbrella, and we have the great joy to announce that you have been selected to take part in our newest project, Grand Journey! I believe it was explained to you, sir, that we are a company that deals with the creation of programs and systems! And as such, we'd love for you to test out our newest system named the [Waifu Catalog] and roam the multiverse for us. But as it's currently in alpha testing, you will encounter several bugs on your journey but rest assured that we will support you all the way.

The Waifu Catalog…? I have to say it, that's a weird name. However, what does that voice mean by roaming the multiverse, that's the part that intrigues me the most.

"Excuse me, can I ask something?"

But before we proceed further, we have several missions at our disposal for you to accomplish. Please select the one that you fancy.

I got ignored!

Depending on the mission chosen, you will be sent to a certain world and be given a certain amount of credits depending on the world's danger rating, measured on a scale from one to ten.

Danger ratings are weighed based on the power of the typical combatants, the average danger level to ordinary people living in that world, and especially the actual cost of what might be needed to survive in that world.

As a reference, the world you are living in is classified as a tier two world.

Now that you know your budget, pick an Origin, one Binding-type control, and as many of the Lures, Other Controls, Perks, Companions, and Familiars as you desire or can afford. Please select one of the missions proposed.

While I was a bit miffed for being ignored like that, I couldn't help but frown when I saw several blue holographic panels appearing out of thin air before my eyes.

This is...

As I read the content displayed on the three closest panels, I could only blink in disbelief.

So, if I understand correctly, I'll be isekai'd into an anime world like Fate and DxD as either a canon character or... an extra, whatever that means. I suppose my origin is the type of identity I will take upon my arrival in that world, but first, I have to choose which mission I should take on.

Honestly, I would love to explore more of that 'Catalog' but I can't seem to skip those pages. I would like to ask but I feel like I'll just be ignored once again, so I'll refrain from doing it.

I glanced at the other panels, only to wince in annoyance when I saw that they would send me to universes I have no knowledge of or just hated with a passion.

I guess I'll have to content myself with those three... But which one am I supposed to choose?

The first mission... seems like quite the challenge, if anything. I don't know what 'Exit Stage Left' and that gauge thing is, but I don't really feel like I should take that one.

The DxD mission is quite appealing to me in some ways.

One is that I have some knowledge about the show and light novel, so I would be a bit familiar with the setting. And it's without saying that it's an ecchi world, and as a man, there is no way I wouldn't be attracted to the prospect of living in a world like this one despite the dangers it inhabits.

Well, it goes without saying that I should still be careful and move with caution if I choose to live in this world, if I were to believe my memories of the shows and the mission's description.

And lastly, the Fate one. The only thing I have to say about that mission is that... it's just the most dangerous among the three. And judging by the description, I wouldn't be living during modern times but instead in the distant past during the time Artoria or Arthur was alive.

No matter how I see it, that mission just screams danger to me, more than the DxD one. I don't feel like I'll be able to live during the late Antiquity. However, should I take it, I'll gain a lot more credits since the danger rating is higher...

Damn, that's quite troublesome... So, which missions should I choose?
