One day, I was exploring a certain savage forest on an island with Djeeta after hearing about a strange swordmaster who fought by combining magic and swordplay.

While our captain thought that she could pick up some useful tips from such a unique fighter, I had a different motive in mind as I wanted to meet this strange swordsman who I believed to be the person who got me playing Granblue Fantasy. Well, the prospect of learning from the swordmaster is also something that interested me as well.

"Hey, Kay? Are we really gonna find the swordmaster here?" Djeeta asked me as she glanced at our surroundings, trying to find the rumored person, while I nodded.

"If the information we received from Siero is correct, they should be here…" I said, walking in a certain direction as I already knew the swordmaster's location, having surveyed the entire island with my Clairvoyance before we landed.

As I walked with Djeeta following me close behind me, I couldn't help but smile as my suspicions turned out to be true as the swordmaster was indeed the character that pushed me into the rabbit hole that is Granblue, making me wish to roll and play her.

Damn, I can feel my heart racing... Is this what it feels to meet an idol?

And after a few minutes of walking, we quickly reached the place where the sword master was.

"Look, it must be her." I said to Djeeta as I pointed my finger at a beautiful draph woman holding a katana, quietly meditating underneath a tree.

As expected, Narmaya sure is gorgeous...

"You're right... but what is she doing?"

"She must be meditating. Samurai often do this when they want to concentrate. No, wait... scratch that, she's sleeping." I said when I noticed Narmaya nodding her head off in her sleep.

"Are you sure she's the swordmaster?" Djeeta asked me skeptically, her gaze switching between the sleeping draph and I, while I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure of it."

"Hmm… Alright, I'll believe you for now. Anyway, shall we wake her up? It's dangerous to sleep outside in a place like this…" Djeeta muttered as she slowly approached the sleeping girl, but at that moment, Narmaya flickered like smoke and disappeared in a cloud of butterflies.

"Wha–?"

When I saw Djeeta stumble back in surprise, I quickly caught her before she fell.

"Are you okay?"

"Ye-yes... Thank you, Kay." Djeeta sheepishly said, her face a little red, before she stood on her feet with my support while I noticed a purple butterfly flying beside us from the corner of my eyes, which made me turn to look at it. And then, the butterfly transformed into Narmaya as she stood with her katana in her hand, looking at us with a kind smile.

"Good day. What are you children doing here? Are you lost?"

"Good day to you too, and no, we aren't lost. We were just looking for you." I said, surprising Narmaya who widened her eyes at my words.

Yeah, I would be surprised too if a bunch of strangers came and said that they were looking for me.

Just as I opened my mouth to introduce myself and explain, Djeeta suddenly raised her hand as if trying to get our attention, like a child in a classroom at school.

"Excuse me, was that one of those moves where you combine the sword with magic?"

You know, Djeeta, questions like this should be saved for later, not now.

"H-huh? I just moved normally…"

"You just moved normally? Just by moving you did that? Whoa, she's really something. I guess that's why she's called a "swordmaster". She's on another level." Djeeta said as she looked at Narmaya with admiration in her eyes while the person herself seemed to be completely confused.

"Huh? Swordmaster?"

"Sorry to introduce myself so late, I'm Kay and this is Djeeta, we are part of a skyfarer crew of which she is the leader. We came to this island after hearing rumors about a strange swordmaster who combines magic and swordsmanship lived here, and we thought that we could pick up some useful training tips from such a swordswoman."

"I see… I understand now why you came all this way, but you have me mistaken for someone else."

"What?" Djeeta was surprised by Narmaya's quick denial as she could only look at the draph in shock. "But we saw you do a crazy move just now!"

"I don't understand, I was just moving… And earlier, I tried to meditate, but then I just fell asleep. I'm so inexperienced… And you keep calling me a "swordmaster," but I've only ever had normal training, just like anyone else."

While I can relate about falling asleep while meditating, I really wonder what kind of "normal" training she has gone through so far to become the swordswoman she is right now.

If I remember correctly, she was said to be one of the strongest warriors in the world, rivaling Okto, one of the Eternals and grandmaster of the katana. As far as I know, she may be the best person to be my teacher, so I could master the katana as fast as possible.

"But you're amazing, to be able to do that by just moving. I'm sure that you must have done some kind of fancy training. Can you show us an example?"

"Erm… Okay… but it really is just normal training, you know…" Narmaya said, still confused by Djeeta's words, as she took out her katana from its sheath. She then tapped a nearby tree, causing hundreds of leaves to float down from its branches.

Then, her sword began to flicker and shift, as if it formed into other weapons. And in the blink of an eye, the leaves are torn to shreds.

"Huh? Wh-what just happened? Her katana flickered like it was made of smoke… Hey, what did you do?" Djeeta exclaimed herself as she looked in shock at Narmaya who seemed to be troubled by her question.

"Huh? What did I do? I just waved my sword… nothing special."

"That's normal for you? Just waving your sword and then that happens?" Djeeta said with confusion as she looked at the shredded leaves on the ground while I frowned, looking at Narmaya's hand on the katana's hilt.

I didn't feel anything magical, so she must have only used her physical abilities just now, which is quite impressive. I'm sure I won't be able to wave my sword as fast as her. She must have practiced like this for years to become that skilled.

I then looked at Djeeta who tried Narmaya's 'normal' training, but as the leaves floated down, she didn't manage to cut a single one as they fanned away from each of her swings instead.

"I can't do it... Kay, what about you? Do you think you can do it?" I silently shook my head at Djeeta's question.

Although I am confident in the power of my swings, speed is a different matter. I believe if I tried this exercise, rather than cutting a leaf, I would cut the tree instead by accident.

"Well, I suppose only a famous swordmaster could pull off such a crazy stunt. You're really incredible, miss." Djeeta said as she looked at Narmaya with admiration, but to her surprise, she saw her hanging her head in sadness.

"Please… stop teasing me. I'm not amazing… I'm not famous… No one has ever recognized my skills… He won't recognize them… If I was famous or skilled, he would have come to see me… I know he would…"

"He?" Djeeta muttered before she looked at me in confusion, making me let out a sigh.

Oh yes, I remember now... One of her biggest flaws, or should I say only, is her self-deprecating nature, causing her to downplay her own prowess but also limit her potential. I don't exactly remember why she's like this, but I believe that it was after Narmaya grew up from that second nature that she was able to become one of the most fearsome warriors she would be known as.

I suppose in this kind of situation, the best course of action would be to refute her claims and praise her skills... Alright, please don't let me down, [Communication Talent]...

And so, I knelt before Narmaya and looked straight into her downcast eyes while giving her a small smile.

"Miss Narmaya, you know we're not teasing you, right?" I said, surprising Narmaya as she looked at me in surprise.

"Huh? Why do you know my name? I don't remember mentioning it..."

"That's because I have heard many stories about you that I know your name. You may not be aware of it, but your feats and skills with a katana are well known in the Sky realm that you are recognized by many as a swordmaster."

"That's right. Seriously, your skills are amazing! Both of us couldn't even dream of doing what you have done with the leaves, and we both think you're incredible. Right, Kay?"

"Yes." Although I wouldn't say that I can't even dream of doing what she has done. Still... "Only a few are capable of achieving your feats, which I believe are the result of countless amounts of effort and hours of training and that fact alone deserves a lot of praise. And I'm sure that, just like the two of us, there are many who recognize and admire your skills for what they are. Even though I know that it's hard for you to believe my words, what I just said just now is the pure truth."

"You… you think that about me?" Narmaya coyly asked while I softly nodded, unlike Djeeta who was more energetic in her gesture.

"Of course! Your skills are impressive!"

"Heehee, you really think so?" She let out a small laugh, seeing Djeeta's enthusiasm, before looking at me with a small smile on her face.

"You… Your eyes seem so honest, you remind me of someone I used to know… So, I don't believe you lied to me, that much I'm certain. Also, thank you for your kind words."

"It's nothing. Like I said, it's nothing but the truth."

"You wanted training tips from me, right? I don't mind teaching everything I know to you two."

"Really?! Thank you, Narmaya!" Djeeta shouted with joy in her voice while I smiled, taking her hands in mine.

"Thank you very much, Lady Narmaya."

"Please just call me Narmaya, and... you told me earlier that you were part of a skyfarer crew, right? The sky realm is really dangerous, you know? Are you two going to be alright on your own? No, actually, you could probably use my help on your journey! I'd be happy to come if you let me! That way, I would be able to train you both anytime, anywhere! And it's nice to have someone around to help you!" Narmaya started to say, getting more and more excited, which surprised both Djeeta and I as her demeanor seemed to have completely changed.

"Well, as surprising as it is, what do you say, Captain? You're the one in charge of the crew, after all."

"Of course, I don't mind at all. I'm looking forward to travelling with you, Narmaya!"

"Me too. I will do my best not to become a burden."

Once back on the ship, Djeeta and I introduced Narmaya who was warmly received by the rest of the crew, and I could tell she was touched by the welcome. Everything went well, the crew got a new companion, and a strong one, while Djeeta and I got a new teacher and training partner.

However, there is just one thing I keep wondering... why is Narmaya fussing over me like an older sister?

"Hey, Kay! Are you alright? You're not hungry, are you? Shall I go and get you some fruit? Or perhaps do you want me to cook something for you?"

"Oh, Kay! I planned to do wash my clothes right now. Do you have some laundry for me to take care of?"

"Kay, do you want me to clean your ears? Here, put your head on my laps. Don't worry, leave everything to me!"

If she continues to be so caring with me, I feel like I'm going to become a Madao very soon.

"Are you feeling comfortable, Kay?"

"Yes... it's perfect." I muttered as I relaxed myself, my head comfortably resting on Narmaya's plump thighs.

I just hope Artoria or Merlin don't see me like this.
