Welcome Back Home

Earth, Fire, Air, Water; the four elements that make up the world. Throughout my whole life, I have heard stories of Avatar Aang and how he took down the 100-year tyrannical reign that was the Fire Nation. Now it's been over 40 years since his rule and now a new threat emerges and a new generation is there to solve the threat. This is a story of how I met Avatar Korra and her friends as well as the adventures we went on.

A young man was on a transport ship that led to Republic City. The said man had black hair that was parted in the middle. He had deathly pale skin and had green eyes, but they were dull and the under lids were baggy and wrinkled and his upper lids were halfway open. He wore a white t-shirt and black pants; he also had a sword sheathed on his left hip and a dagger that was sheathed on the back of his hip and a rope with a dart on the right side of his hip.

He soon jumped off the boat and onto the dock as he took a deep breath in, "It's good to be home."

The young man started to walk down to the City, thinking about where he should stop.

The City Council meeting has adjourned with the Pro-Bending Finals underway. Tarrlok, the worm corrupt politician was able to convince the other Council Members, except Tenzin to let the Pro-Bending Match go on despite a Non-Bending Terrorist, Amon making threats to attack there. Korra, Mako, and Bolin as well as Lin Beifong were standing in front of them. It wasn't too long ago that they were arguing with the Council about Pro-Bending tournaments.

"A word please, Lin," Tenzin said as he walked to the Metal Bending Police Chief. The two soon walked out of the Meeting Room and into the hallway.

"What do you want, Tenzin," Lin said.

"Tarrlok's playing you," Tenzin said, he was worried about the woman's safety, "and I don't want to see you get hurt."

"I know what I'm doing and the risks that come with it," Lin said, her arms crossed as she looked at Tenzin with an annoyed expression.

"In that case I'm going to be by your side during the match," Tenzin said.

"You don't need to babysit me," Lin said in annoyance.

"It's for Korra," Tenzin said, "I want to make sure she's safe."

Lin soon had enough of Tenzin as he threw up her hands, "Do what you want! It's not like I've been able to stop you before."

She started to walk off as Korra started to walk towards the,

"Excuse me, Chief Beifong," Korra said, "I wanted to thank you for your help. It… really… means… a lot."

Korra's thankful expression fell to annoyance as Lin just kept walking without turning around to face her. The Avatar was basically ignored and started to look at Tenzin for an explanation.

"What is her deal?" Korra asked the Airbending Master, "Even when she's on my side she's against me."

"I've known Lin since we were children," Tenzin said, "she's always been… challenging."

"What did your Father do to make her hate the Avatar so much?" Korra asked. She felt like she was being attacked due to what Aang could've done to Lin.

"My Father and Lin got along famously," Tenzin said, "I'm afraid her issues are with… me."

Korra soon started to connect the dots as she realized something.

"Wait a second," Korra was thinking soon after she said this, "it all makes sense now! You and Beifong, Beifong and you, you two were a couple!"

Tenzin started to get flustered.

"What?!" Tenzin said, "Where did you get that idea?"

"Ha!" Korra said with a smug look on her face, "Your wife."

"Damn it," Tenzin said in annoyance, "I'll have a word with her later."

"So…" Korra still maintained her smugness as she crossed her arms, "Pema stole you from Beifong. I'm surprised that our esteemed Police Chief didn't try to arrest her."

"Oh she did," Tenzin said, "Anyway, Pema didn't steal me. Lin and I started to stray away for quite some time."

"Why?" Korra asked. She was now curious about this revelation.

"Different ambitions and other things," Tenzin said, he soon sighed, "and most of all, how we wanted to raise our son."

Korra was listening with a nonchalant posture, but her eyes widened as soon as she heard the word "son." She looked at Tenzin with utter shock, "Wait, you had a son with Beifong?!"

"Yes I did," Tenzin said, "he is actually a little older than you. By two years."

Korra was now curious, "What's he like?"

Tenzin sighed as he looked at the wall, "Complicated and the last time I spoke with him, it wasn't on great terms and he was really angry."

At the current moment, it has been an hour since Lin convinced Tarrlok and the council to allow the Pro-Bending Tournament to be reinstated. The Police Department was starting to organize themselves for the event as they were trying to organize who will be where.

Lin Beifong was in her office doing some paperwork and heard the door knock.

"Come in," she said.

The door opened and the young man from earlier who left the boat entered the room. Lin was surprised to see the young man.

"Kang," Lin said with slight surprise, "you're back…"

The young man now known as Kang pursed his lips and gave the older woman a two fingered salute.

"Hey, Mom," Kang said, "long time no see."

He started to walk towards Lin, "I heard everything that has happened in this city and I figured I would be around to see the madness unfold."

Lin sighed as she shook her head. She later stood up as Kang started to follow her, "Don't tell me you're going to join them?"

"Please…" Kang scoffed, "I may be a non-bender, but I would never resort to joining an Anti-Bending Terrorist organization. They even call themselves the Equalits, I mean come on."

Lin had a relieved expression as she decided to ask, "When did you get here?"

"I got here," Kang said, "you were my first stop. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"You're not an officer," Lin said with a stern look on her face, "so no. You cannot."

'Of course not,' Kang thought to himself, 'still hell bent on being by the book, you old hag.'

"Chief," an officer said, "we're ready to head to the stadium."

She nodded before looking at Kang, "I think you can tell that I'm swamped right now. I'll see you later."

As Lin started to walk off, he sighed and decided to take his leave from the station. Why did he come at the most inconvenient time was all he could ask himself?

Kang decided to make another stop at another location. As Kang kept walking down the streets of Republic City and soon bumped into someone.

"Sorry," Kang said, "for bumping into you—"

Kang's eyes widened at who he bumped into by accident. The girl had black long hair and lighter green eyes than his and a mechanical shirt and gloves. She also wore purple eyeshadow and red lipstick.

"Kang?!" the girl was shocked to see the man.

"Asami…" Kang said with surprise. She ran to hug him as if she hadn't seen him for a long time.

"It's been so long," Asami said, "it's been like what, three years?"

"Four years," Kang said, "four long years. But, uhh how have you been, is your Dad's company doing great?"

"Yeah," Asami said with a smile, she looked at Kang's face and saw how much he had changed, he saw how much paler he got and his eyes are as if he doesn't get enough sleep. She started to get concerned as she thought he was sick, "What happened to you? Are you sick or something?"

She put her hands on his cheeks and felt the cold pale skin of Kang. Kang felt the warm and soft hands of the girl as she caressed his cheeks.

"I'm not sick," Kang said, "I just have not been getting sleep since I was a full-time vagabond."

"Was?" Asami asked, raising a brow.

"Yep," Kang said, "I think I'm staying in Republic City, for good this time. And maybe we could, you know…"

"Kang…" Asami said with a solemn tone, she dropped her hands and hugged herself. Kang tried to reach out with his hand, but she turned away, "I moved on, I had to. You've been gone for four years and you didn't write or anything."

Kang said nothing as he knew that she was right, he had been gone for years and it would only be natural for Asami to move on. He said nothing as he looked down in shame and just accepted this new Asami.

"Asami!" a voice called out.

Asami saw the man who was walking towards them, he had short hair and golden-orange eyes with a red scarf. Kang was still a bit taller, but this guy seemed a bit intimidated by Kang's sickly appearance.

"Kang," Asami said, "this is my boyfriend Mako. Mako, this is my oldest friend, Kang Beifong."

"Beifong?" Mako said, "You're the son of the chief and—"

"Sorry, but I would appreciate it if you don't mention that man at all," Kang said with a bitter tone. He soon realized his tone and started to change to his usual, tired one, "Sorry about that. I uh, have to go and see my family. I will see you around?"

"Uh yeah, for sure," Asami said, feeling a bit off guard.

Kang gave her a lazy smile as he started to walk and wave behind him. As he was walking away, Asami couldn't help but feel that Kang's sickly appearance had a bigger story behind it.

Kang was on a ferry to Air Temple Island and started to feel nervous for the first time. He hasn't seen everyone for years and he is curious to how much people have changed. He soon got off the boat and started to walk along the dock to the main courtyard. The landscape and people haven't changed in a while. It would make sense as he was only gone for four years. He sighed as he soon saw a woman in air acolyte robes. She was pregnant with black hair with a gray streak and smiled at Kang.

"Kang it's so good to see you," she said, "did you just arrive?"

"It's good to see you too, Pema," Kang said as he walked towards her to gently hug her, "and yes, I did arrive not too long ago."

Pema looked at Kang and saw how sickly he looked, "Are you okay, sweetie? You look extremely pale."

She put her hands on his pale cheeks and felt how cold he was, but he reassured her with a smile.

"I'm okay Pema, but I am kind of tired," Kang said.

"Well get some sleep," Pema said, "Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo can say hello to you later."

"Sure," Kang said. He later walked off and walked to his family's home which was in a separate area from where the Acolytes stayed overnight. He soon saw the door that led to his room and later opened it to see his room which was kept clean after all these years. He dropped his bag down and unzipped it to show his clothes which were washed and he started to put them into the dresser. He soon placed his sword and dagger on top of the dresser and soon dug further into the depths of his bag and it showed a set of clothing.

He soon pulled out a note that came with it and it said, "You've earned these. Remember to stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent. Hide in plain sight. Never compromise the Hidden Ones."

Kang sighed as he zipped his duffle bag and folded the note. He didn't hesitate to put the note inside the drawer of his night stand. He later shifted his attention to the door knocking and opened it to be tackled by two kids. Kang started to chuckle as he knew who the two kids were. Ikki and Jinora were giggling at the fact that Kang came back home and hugged him. He soon stood up with both girls in his arms.

"By the spirits you two have grown up," Kang said with a genuine smile, "I've missed you both. And my gosh, Meelo you've grown up!"

Meelo slowly started to walk around Kang and looked at him. The last time Kang saw Meelo, he was just a toddler so it would make sense if Meelo was suspicious.

"You look a little pale," Meelo said, "are you sure you're my older brother?"

"Trust me kid," Kang said with a smirk, "think about why we not only look really handsome, but similar."

Meelo had a hand on his chin then he shrugged, "I guess it makes sense."

"Have you seen, Daddy?" Jinora said, "He would be surprised to see you after all these years."

"I was actually going to find him," Kang said, "where is he?"

"He left to go see the pro-bending tournament," Ikki said, "he left before Mommy told us about you arriving."

"It makes sense why she couldn't get there faster," Kang said, "I'm going to go there and say hello."

He later put his sisters down and walked out of his room, but not without patting Meelo on his bald head.

'I can still see, duty still calls for you, Father,' Kang thought bitterly.

It's nighttime and the pro-bending arena is surrounded by ships of Metalbenders and inside the officers are scouring looking for undefined objects.

"All clear, Chief!" An officer said.

Lin nodded, she was standing at the entrance and Tenzin approached the chief. "How is the security sweep going?" Tenzin asked.

"Fine," Lin said bluntly.

"The other officers have checked underneath the stands?" Tenzin asked.

"Yes," Lin answered bluntly again.

"And you have enough officers to cover all points of entry?" Tenzin asked.

"I have the skies, the bay, and every nook and cranny of this place covered. Now, leave me alone and let me do my job," Lin said.

"Lin, with so much on the line, it would be nice if we could help each other out, at least for one night," Tenzin said.

"Like old times?" Lin asked with a soft expression.

"Like old times," Tenzin said.

"Okay, I'll try to be less abrasive than usual," Lin said.

"I would appreciate that," Tenzin said.

Lin nodded and started to walk off, Tenzin looked at the ring and sighed.

"Jinora and Ikki said you'd be here," a male voice said.

Tenzin looked back and his eyes widened with surprise. His oldest son was back in Republic City and was walking towards him.

"Kang…" Tenzin said with surprise in his voice, "you're back home."

"Father," Kang said curtly, walking to his Father.

As Kang was getting closer, Tenzin was able to get a better look at his face. His expression started to be a face of concern as he saw the deathly pale complexion of his son's face and the sunken eyes and eye bags.

"Are you okay," Tenzin asked with concern, "you look a bit pale."

"I'll be fine," Kang said, "though, I appreciate your concern."

"Of course," Tenzin said.

Kang now was standing by Tenzin side-by-side. The father and son duo were silent, Tenzin felt a bit awkward while Kang simply looked at the ring and the audience bleachers to see the Metalbending police officers surveying the area.

"What's with the security force?" Kang asked his Father.

"Well surely you've been hearing about the recent attacks from Amon, right?" Tenzin asked.

Kang nodded, "Mom was talking about it earlier when I saw her. She said not to help, so I'm just here to watch the chaos unfold."

After a minute of standing there, Kang decided to make his way to walk around the arena.

"Well, I'm going to explore," Kang said as he started to turn around and walk, "Do you have any Air Nomad advice on what I should do?"

Kang was waiting for his father for an answer, but after waiting for a good five seconds, he didn't hear anything so he started to turn around and walk away. Tenzin kept his eyes trained at Kang who simply kept walking without looking back, "Do what you think is best."

Kang stopped as if he wanted Tenzin to elaborate, "I know your Mother said not to interfere, but if I'm going to be quite honest, it is too much for the police to handle."

After Tenzin stopped talking, Kang started to walk away and started to explore the arena. He kept walking around and soon saw two people. One was a girl with dark skin and water tribe clothing. She had brown hair that was tied into a unique ponytail. Next to her was a boy with black hair and green clothes that represents the Earth Kingdom and he kind of looked like Mako from earlier. She was staring at him which kind of made him feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Uhh can I help you or…" Kang started to speak as the girl started to realize what she was doing.

"Right, sorry for staring," the girl said, "This is Bolin."

The boy now known as Bolin waved at him but in a timid way probably due to Kang's imposing nature.

"And I'm Korra. I am the successor to your—"

"My grandpa, yeah," Kang said, "I know who you are. I've been away from home, but I am able to keep up with the talks around the world of the Avatar causing trouble in Republic City. I'm Kang."

"I know," Korra said, "your Dad has told me a lot about you."

Kang raised an eyebrow as he was surprised at his Father mentioning him to other people, even to the current Avatar.

"Huh is that so?" Kang said, "Well, is there something going on at the arena for the police force's panties to get in a twist?"

Korra was surprised at the choice of words Kang used to ask the question as she figured for someone to be the son of Lin and Tenzin he would speak with proper etiquette. But she soon shifted to reality and answered his question anyway, "They're going to guard the arena to make sure no Equalists attack. My team and I are going to go against the Wolf-Bats for the Cup!"

"Huh," Kang said, he soon walked off and patted her on the shoulder, "well I wish you good luck kids."

"Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the final match of the pro bending tournament!" The announcer shouted in the mike as the crowd was roaring with excitement at seeing the final match.

"Give a hand for the team who's managed to make it into the finals, the Future Industries, Fire Ferrets!" The crowd gave a loud cheer as Korra, Mako and Bolin were brought to the ring by the extending bridge as they waved to the crowd.

Mako saw Asami and she blew him a kiss and wink, wishing him luck which he happily returned, Korra saw this and just groaned.

After reaching the arena Bolin signals Pabu.

"You're on, Pabu." Bolin said and Pabu jumps down and does his trick by moving around on his front paws before doing backflips while Bolin uses an earth disc to remove the center for Pabu who does a backflip through and back and ends the performance with one paw standing. "Yes! Nailed it! He's so talented." Bolin said.

"And their opponents, the three timed defending champions, the White Falls Wolf-bats!" The ring announcer introduced as bat masked Wolf-bats with purple capes howl and spread their cape wings while fireworks go off all around the arena and the Wolf-bat fangirls cheer, cry, and howl while the Fire Ferret cosplayers boo.

"That's the best they got? Pathetic,," Kang said. He was on the ceiling sitting on a beam with a direct birdseye view of the playing field. He had a duffle bag on his side that contained some equipment.

"Pfft, they got nothing on us, buddy. Anybody can howl." Bolin said as he tried to howl but failed. "Hm, whatever." Bolin said.

Tahno takes off his bat mask and unties his cape.

"I'm gonna knock Tahno's STUPID hair off his STUPID head!" Korra said, pounding her fist.

"The champs and challengers face off at the center-line and here we go!" Shiro announced as the bell rings.

The Wolf-bats instantly move toward the Fire Ferrets and Tahno tries to deliver a water uppercut at Korra who moves back to barely dodge it but gets hit by Tahno's water blast.

"Tahno tries to clean the Avatar's clock with some dirty water boxing." Shiro said and Mako delivers a Firebending attack but misses and the Earthbending Wolf-bat throws two earth discs and kicks them at Mako followed by two more and Mako is forced back into zone two. "Ming shakes off Mako's attack and returns the favor." Shiro said and the Firebender Wolf-bat tries to flip at Bolin who kicks some earth discs and one of the discs bounces off the side ropes and hits the Firebending Wolf-bat knocking him against the fence. "Shaozu gets fancy, but Bolin ricochets a disc off the ropes and says 'No thank you, sir'!" Shiro said.

"Nice shot!" Mako said.

Tahno looks at the Fire Ferrets in slight irritation for this and Shaozu runs out of the way of Mako's fireball just in time.

"The Waterbenders slug it out, looking evenly matched." Shiro said Tahno Waterbends a prolonged stream of water at Bolin forcing him to zone three. "Tahno gets a little too worked up and unleashes a deluge on Bolin that would certainly elicit a foul." Shiro said and the center of the ring lights up allowing the Wolf-bats to advance. "Or apparently not." Shiro said.

"Well isn't this a dirty play," Kang said in disappointment.

"What's the big idea, ref? That was a housing foul!" Mako yelled and the referee signaled it was not making Mako angry.

"And the Wolf-bats advance despite Tahno exceeding the Waterbending time limit." Shiro says and the match continues and Korra starts Waterbending but gets hit but Tahno's water attack but Bolin launches an earth disc at Tahno who dodges and Korra rolls to the side while Mako dodges an earth disc by Ming and starts Firebending back. "A questionable call by the officials." Shiro said and Ming lifted up a disc under Mako's foot tripping him forward and launched another disc at the Firebender, sending him back to zone three. "Ming trips up Mako with another dirty trick!" Shiro said.

"This is just gross," Kang said in disappointment.

"I've been brushing up. That Wolf-bat blatantly bent a disc outside of his zone." Tenzin said.

Ming launches another earth disc as Tahno runs forward to start another attack.

"The Fire Ferret brothers are backed to zone three and the Wolf-bats smell blood." Shiro said and Tahno freezes water as Bolin jumps back making him slip and gets hit by a fire blast and falls out of the arena making the crowd boo. "Looks like Tahno snuck an illegal icing move, but once again, there's no call." Shiro said.

"They've been bought out..." Kang muttered to himself. Man, at this point he hopes something happens to the Wolf-Bats.

Tahno and Shaozu both attack Korra as Mako rolls out of the way of an earth disc and delivers a fire blast.

"I don't know what match the refs are watching, but it's obviously not this one." Shiro said. Tahno and Ming both attack Korra and get sent back into zone three and the Wolf-bats advance but Mako sends out a Firebending blast but he misses. "Oh...a splash-and-clash sends the Avatar to zone three as well." Shiro said and Mako moves in front of Korra and tries to Firebend to protect the Avatar from a triple element attack but they both get pushed out of the arena and the bell rings as the Wolf-bats gather together. "It's a knockout! The Wolf-bats won the championship for the fourth year in a..." Shiro was cut off when he saw something. "Hold on a second, folks!" Shiro said as he saw Korra clinging to the edge of the stadium holding Mako by his collar.

"Scratch that! The Ferrets are still alive, but just barely." Shiro said as Korra swings to throw Mako up onto the arena as she falls and Mako throws a fire blast at Tahno sending him flying and knocking him down as Ming and Shaozu look at him in shock and Tahno stands back up angry as the bell rings and Mako winks in a smug manner.

"What an unbelievable move! These Ferrets aren't just bending elements, they're bending my mind!" Shiro said and Tahno glared hatefully and growled. "The underdogs survive to see round two!" Shiro said.

The Ferrets huddled together.

"What's wrong with these refs?" Korra asked.

"They've been paid off; it's the only explanation. Someone wants us to lose," Mako said.

"If the Wolf-bats are gonna play dirty, then so should we." Korra said.

"No we can't! The refs have it out for us. If we're gonna win this thing, it has to be fair and square." Mako said.

"That's no fun, but… alright." Korra said disappointed.

"Round two!" The ring announcer said as the bell rings.

Mako firebends but gets blocked by Shaozu and Korra Waterbends at Ming who blocks it with Firebending and Bolin sends an earth disc at Tahno who blocks it with Waterbending and then Waterbends at Korra twice who dodges and blocks the attacks.

"The opening salvo is a brutal call as both sides give it their all." Shiro said and Korra starts to Waterbend but her right gets iced and Tahno kicks her back with waterbending. "But once again, Tahno sneaks in a little ice to get the upper hand," Shiro said.

"This foul-play again," Kang said.

Bolin sends an earth disc at Shaozu, sending him back but Ming attempts to block a Firebending blast with a disc but is sent backward and Mako dodges three fire blasts aiming for his head.

"Wowzers! Those look like illegal headshots to me!" Shiro said and Mako dodged another fireblast to the head and the bell rings and the players remain on the ring floor.

"Round two will be decided with a tiebreaker," The ring announcer said as the referee came in between and flipped a coin and then caught it.

"The Fire Ferrets win the coin toss! Which element do you choose?" The referee asked.

"I'm taking this one. Let's go! You and me, pretty boy!" Korra said to Tahno who smirks.

"Thought you'd never ask." Tahno said.

The other team members move away from the center as it elevates itself with Korra and Tahno in the middle and they move around for the first strike.

"Come on, little girl. Give me your best shot." Tahno said.

Korra Waterbends at Tahno who dodges it but then gets underneath by a water stream and the scene rewinds to show the replay of the same thing happening again showing that Korra only used the first water strike as a distraction and then uses her foot to deliver the upper water strike and Tahno falls out of the ring and the bell rings.

"Hmph, chump," Korra said smugly while the Wolf-bat fangirls are shocked along with the Fire Ferret cosplayers and Tahno's helmet lands on one of them.

"Nice shot, kid," Kang said with a smirk on his face.

"Round two goes to the Fire Ferrets!" The ring announcer said as the Ferrets' color lights up and Korra jumps down from the center.

"Nice one!" Mako said high fiving Korra.

"That's the stuff! You are my HERO-AH!" Bolin cheered.

"We might actually win this thing." Mako said.

Tahno is being helped to his feet and shakes his team off in rage and fixes his hair.

"Let's send them to a watery grave!" Tahno said.

"I can't believe our son's sweet-tempered grandfather was reincarnated into that girl. She's tough as nails," Lin said, impressed.

"Reminds me of someone else I knew. You two might get along if you would only give her a chance," Tenzin said.

"Hmph," Lin said, rolling her eyes.

"One round apiece; who wants it more?" Shiro asked as the bell rings.

"Come on, you three. You can do this," Kang said.

Tahno Waterbends while Ming blocks a water attack with an earth disc and then launches another earth disc and Shaozu and Tahno both launch their own attacks but Bolin dodges a water blast and launches his earth disc but gets hit by a water blast while sending another earth disc.

"The Wolf-bats fly out of the gates, swinging with bad intentions," Shiro said and Ming launches a disc attack while Shaozu jumps over and sends out a fire blast. "The challengers are showing a lot of heart, but the champs are really starting to find their rhythm now," Shiro said Tahno runs toward while jumping off a pole to dodge an oncoming disc and launches his own water blast. "Can the Ferrets hang in there with the best, especially when the best are FRANKLY getting a little help from the refs?" Shiro asks as Ming launches a disc at Korra who gets hit but she narrowly dodges the other disc and launches her water blast at Tahno who blocks it. "It's all down to this final round!" Shiro said.

Mako sends out multiple fire blasts.

"Mako is leaving it all in the ring, but it looks like Tahno and Ming are up to more shenanigans!" Shiro said as Ming brings up an earth disc and throws it before launching another disc behind his back and breaks the disc into Tahno's water and Tahno Waterbends the broken disc into three blasts and knocks Bolin and Mako off the arena.

Korra is hit by the water blast but manages to stay grounded until the rocks reach her and knocks her off the arena.

"Oh, this has gone too far! That water has rocks in it!" Shiro said.

"Knockout!" The referee said making the crowd have an uproar.

"Oh, come ON! Those were illegal headshots! Open your eyes, ref!" Tenzin yelled.

"Well, folks, it's a controversial call, but the Wolf-bats notch a nasty knockout to win the match! For the fourth year in a row, they'll be crowned tournament champions," Shiro said as the Wolf-bats were waving at the spectators.

"I barely broke a sweat!" Tahno said, taking off his helmet.

"Anybody else wanna scrap with the champs?" Tahno asked.

Among the crowd a man puts on an Equalist mask while a female does the same thing and another man puts on the same mask and a spectator reaches for a box of popcorn and in it is an electrical glove and more people do the same and put on the glove and as Tenzin is expressing his outrage over the match he turns to see an Equalist standing next to the chief.

"Look out!" Tenzin said but the Equalist grabs Lin by the shoulder and electrocutes her knocking her out and Tenzin Airbends at the Equalist but gets electrocuted by another Equalist from behind.

Another Equalist sneaks up behind a metal cop and electrocutes him knocking him out and more Equalists electrocute more metal cops from behind as the crowd keeps looking at the arena below.

Korra rises from the water along with the brothers and sees electricity going on in the stands.

"What?" Korra asked.

On the side of the water the lieutenant drops onto the platform under the arena and the Avatar gasps and the lieutenant charges his kali sticks while Korra tries to Waterbend at him but the lieutenant jabs his electric kali sticks into the water making her water drop back into the water and the Ferrets are electrocuted as they scream in pain and are knocked out and the crowd screams in fear.

"Folks, there is some sort of disturbance in the stands. Metalbender cops are dropping like bumble-flies. There appear to be masked members of the audience wielding strange devices on their hands." Shiro said and just then an Equalist opens the door and comes into the commentary booth. "One of them is in the booth with me right now, folks! He is leveling one of those glove devices at me now and I believe he is about to electrocute me. I am currently wetting my pants." Shiro said as the Equalist charges electricity from his glove.

On the ring Tahno and his Wolf-bats are looking around confused and scared. The masked man who led the Equalists known as Amon and his group of Equalists rose from the ring's center platform and Tahno looks around in fear and in the Korra, Mako, and Bolin are still unconscious and they are pulled out of the water while the Equalists subdue Tenzin and Lin and Amon looks at Tahno.

"What's going on here, ref?" Tahno asked.

"I don't know!" The referee answered.

Amon and his Equalists approach the Wolf-bats who try to run away but Amon gets closer.

"Okay, you wanna piece of the Wolf-bats? Here it comes!" Tahno said as he launches a water blast at Amon who evades it and darts forward and the Wolf-bats try to bend at the Equalists but Amon dodges all their attacks.

Shaozu tries to Firebend only to be grabbed by Amon who is now behind Shaozu who screams and Tahno tries to save his teammate only to be caught by a bola and Ming is also caught in a bola and the Equalists are holding Tahno.

"Wait, please don't do this! I'll give you the championship pot! I'll-I'll give you everything! Just please don't take my bending!" Tahno begged.

Amon places his thumb on Tahno's forehead and starts to take his bending away and then the Equalist tosses the Wolf-bats' bodies near the edge of the ring and kicks them off into the water.

Just then a banner with the Equalist symbol is unrolled and more banners are being unrolled and the lieutenant drags Korra out of the water tied up and Korra is semi-conscious and has more visions of Aang with him and older Toph standing front of Metalbenders while Toph says something and a man is on trial and Aang is in the Avatar State and the man is cowering.

The lieutenant ties up the Fire Ferrets to one of the arena supports while Amon is holding a microphone.

"I believe I have your attention, benders of Republic City. So once again, the Wolf-bats are your pro-bending champions. It seems fitting that you celebrate three bullies, who cheated their way to victory because every day, you threaten and abuse your fellow non-bending citizens just like the Wolf-bats did to their opponents tonight. Those men were supposedly the best in the bending world and yet, it only took a few moments for me to cleanse them of their impurity." Amon said.

"Let this be a warning to all of you benders out there: If any of you stand in my way, you will meet the same fate. Now, to my followers: For years, the Equalists have been forced to hide in the shadows, but now we have the numbers and the strength to create a new Republic City. I'm happy to tell you that the time for change has finally come. Very soon, the current tyrannical bending regime will be replaced by a fair-minded Equalist government. You and your children will no longer have to walk the streets afraid. It's time to take back our city!" Amon said.

Korra, Mako, and Bolin regain consciousness.

"How do we get out of here?" Mako asked.

"With me."

A white figure dropped in front of them. The man wore white cotton robes. Although the robes are made of cotton, it also contains tanned and burned leather, steel, and copper. It was designed to facilitate acrobatic movements and allow for maximum flexibility during combat. The right hand leather gauntlet had a red sash. The left hand gauntlet had a copper plate with a leather glove that contained a short sheathe on the forearm of the man. The man's hood contained a red shemagh inside to protect him from sand and dust and had a beak shape on the hood, it was long enough to cover his eyes. The belt contains some throwing knives. He had his hood on as he unsheathed his sword and cut the ropes as it freed Korra and her friends.

"Thanks," Korra said.

"Don't mention it," the robed man said.

As Korra's friends were getting up, the man gave her instructions, "Get innocents out of here!" he said.

"No, I have to face Amon," Korra said.

"No, your job is to be the Avatar and save people first," the hooded-figure said, "if you fight Amon, innocent people will get hurt."

The man climbed up the pillar and went up to the ring where Amon was. But before he climbed up to the ring, he threw a smoke bomb and climbed up. As he was in the smoked ring, he unsheathed his sword and dagger that was equipped on the back of his hip. He used a technique to scan the area for the equalists and fought through every one of them leading to a bloody mess on the ring. When he found Amon, the now exhausted Kang started to attack him with a slash with his sword, but he missed as Amon dodged it.

Amon and the man were at a face off as he soon slashed the masked man with his dagger on his left hand. Kang soon did a series of flurries as Amon dodged it and hit Kang with a few attacks of his own with some kicks on the body and some jabs and hooks across the man's face.

The hooded figure knew at that point that he had to change his style. So he sheathed his sword and got into a southpaw stance. He started with a leading jab then a spinning back kick landed and sent Amon to the ground. Within the split moment, the hooded man was about to end the fight as he did a palm strike with his left hand and the hidden blade extending out, but Amon grabbed the man's left wrist and kicked the man in the face hard enough to expose his face.

"Kang Beifong… grandson of Avatar Aang," Amon said, "you know who I am?"

"Yes, the leader of your non-bending terrorist group," Kang said with his hood now down.

"You know…" Amon said as the two circled each other, "I considered you being a part of one of us. That offer still stands with your training and my network, we can make true equality."

"I'll pass," Kang said, "you just want people to be non-benders. And if there's anything I've learned that I actually keep to heart from my father, it's to never join an extremist terrorist group."

Kang soon lunged towards Amon and did a butterfly twist and kicked Amon in the face, shattering the mask. As Kang saw Amon's face his eyes narrowed, to see what was behind the mask. He saw a man who had a horrific scar across his face.

"Who the hell are you?" Kang asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know," Amon said.

A cable came down for Amon to grab and he picked up his mask to put it on before leaving with quick succession. He was going up so fast that Kang couldn't do anything. He soon put his hood on and looked around and saw Equalist soldiers surrounding him as he started to flourish his sword and knew what he must do.

As the smoke died down, Kang looked around to see that the whole arena was cleared of all innocent people, but in exchange, there was metalbending police surrounding him. Lin, Tenzin, and Korra as well as her friends were standing together as they saw a bloody ring with equalist members who were breathing deeply with lacerations around their body and Kang who had blood all over his robes and face.

Mako and Bolin were shocked at the sight, but Korra was different. She was mortified to see the amount of bloodshed that was caused to these people. Sure they were a part of Amon's group, but they were still people. Kang's face was still hidden well and he soon threw a smoke bomb that was thick enough to make the police officers blinded and coughing. Lin couldn't see so she exposed the sole of her feet and slammed her feet to use her seismic sense, but the hooded man was gone and couldn't sense him. After the smoke cleared up, the hooded man was gone and Lin started to huff.

"Chief, should we chase after him," the officer asked.

"No," Lin said, "he's a Hidden One. He's been trained to escape with ease. We'll let him go, he did us a favor."

Lin looked at Korra, "Do you know how to heal, kid?"

Korra nodded as she went to the ring and started to use waterbending to heal all the Equalists who were extremely mutilated.

Korra and Tenzin were now at Air Temple Island as they looked out to the Pro-bending ring. She wanted to ask Tenzin something.

"Who was that, the guy from the white robe?" Korra asked.

"I don't know who he is, but he was a Hidden One," Tenzin said, "an ancient order from many centuries ago. They were thinned out during Ozai's reign, but are now regrowing and their base of operations are in the Central Earth Kingdom."

"Do you know who HE is though," Korra asked.

"I have an idea…" Tenzin said as he looked at his residence.

Korra soon realized whom he was referring to and started to have a mortified expression. Kang (whose paternal grandparents are Avatar Aang and Katara with the maternal grandmother Toph), whom she thought was like Tenzin, have a violent side to him as he had nearly killed every equalist member. She soon started to walk off.

Kang was in his room when he heard the door knock. He opened the door and saw Korra who had a serious expression on her face.

"We need to talk, now."

Kang and Korra were now on a rooftop as they were looking along Yue Bay.

"So you're a Hidden One…" Korra said.

Kang said nothing as he kept looking out to the ocean. He had an insanely stone cold expression.

"Have you ever killed anyone?" Korra asked.

"I have," Kang said, "mainly major Terrorist groups."

"You're the grandson of Avatar Aang, and I'm his successor," Korra said, "We're not supposed to kill."

"Well I'm not him," Kang said in an aggressive tone, "Sometimes you have to end lives to save them. If you can't understand that, then you have no business being the Avatar."

"What do you mean I have no business being the Avatar?!" Korra asked, and she was taken aback by what Kang said, "there are better ways to resolve problems that don't involve taking lives."

Kang started to walk off as he said, "Be inclined to whatever you want to believe."

A/N: Thank you for reading! This is a reboot to my AC x Legend of Korra story. I kind of wanted to make more scenes of a more cold and gritty Kang who will clash with his family and with the concurrent Avatar. I don't know how long it will take for me to publish the next chapter, but I hope to get it done as soon as possible.
