Rita's three siblings, Terri, Sherri, and Jerri, were running around outside their den while their mother was inside the den, thinking about Haztim.
"Ever wonder who the superior sibling is between us?" Sherri asked.
The other two siblings laughed.
"We don't need to find out anything like that." Giggles Jerri.
"Because we all know who that title goes to." Terri added.
"Me." They all said, simultaneously.
There was a pause between them before they all simultaneously said.
"There's only one way to solve this! A contest! And the winner will be crowned the Super Superior Sibling."
"Wait!" Spoke out Terri. "We'll need a judge. But who?"
"Not mom." Jerri suggested. "If we tell her what it's for, she won't let us do it. I say we get Rita to be the judge."
Fifteen minutes later, Rita came over.
"So, what's this about?" She asked. "A contest between you three?"
"We need to find out who the best sibling is." Terri explained.
Rita was about to tell them that they don't need to do this contest because they're all equally amazing, when suddenly Jerri twisted his nose and widened his eyes while showing his teeth, causing Rita to giggle.
"Ha! I made Rita giggle!" Cackled Jerri. "One point for me!"
Sherri has been holding her breath the last twenty seconds. Her face was turning purple as a result.
"Sherri, breath!" Yelled Rita in an agitated voice.
Sherri quickly released her breath holding. Meanwhile, Terri was blowing a big bubble-gum bubble. It exploded fifteen seconds in, covering Terri in sticky gum from it popping.
"Terri, you've got gum all over you!" Rita sighed in exasperation. "It's going to take hours to get all that off you!"
Rita's mom heard all the yelling and came out of the den to investigate.
"What is going on?" She demanded.
"Well, apparently these three have been having a contest to see who the better sibling was." Rita explained.
"Grass!" Scoffed Terri.
"Snitch!" Jerri exclaimed.
"Party pooper!" Sherri added.
"Enough!" Their mother snapped.
She quickly calmed herself, and went to talk directly to the three mischievous cubs.
"You don't have to do a contest to see who the best one is." She said. "Because you're all equally amazing in mine and everyone else's eyes."
The three cubs looked overjoyed.
"Although, I thought I taught you better than stuff like this." The mother scolded. "Terri, you know how sticky gum is. Sherri, you know that holding your breath for too long could cause problems, and Jerri, you know what I told you about making faces."
"If the wind changes, my face might get stuck." Jerri replied in shame.
"Exactly." Their mother nodded. "Next time you three do these silly contests, try something like tricks or playing games."
The three fox cubs nodded.
"I'm glad we got this settled." Their mother said. "Now Terri, do me a favour and get yourself cleaned up by the time it's dinnertime. Deery is bringing her siblings over soon and I want you all to look clean and be on your best behaviour. Am I making myself clear?"
The three kits nodded again.
"Good." Said their mother, walking back into the den.
"She has a point, you three." Rita informed. "Try not to let your competitiveness get the better of you in future."
I thought of something for the next chapter of this series: Skunky telling the kids another bedtime story which is a continuation of the last story time chapter. But in the meantime, I'd like to work on my Tiny Toons series. The chapter that comes out after the next Tiny Toons story will either be the chapter after that or the next story time story.
