Air, Water, Earth, Fire.
Tomoko somehow managed to create a good enough cover for why we had to take this Trip, that we were able to leave without sneaking away. She told them that she wanted to take me to the other Air Temples to train and learn. I guess this gives us plenty of time to do what we need to do.
"So how much farther to this Island?" Tomoko asked as she stood looking out over the bow of the ship.
"We should be there soon, a good thing because today is the day." I said standing right behind her.
"Whatever this is we are looking for. I hope it's worth it."
"Same."
Once at the Island we see a lush forest even though records show it being nothing but a wasteland. Did we go to the wrong Island?
"This Island should be nothing but Volcanic Rock, this doesn't make any sense." I looking at the map.
"It does when you realize that it's probably been awhile since anyone has been here." Tomoko informs me.
"That's true."
"I feel something drawing me into the forest."
"I don't feel anything." Next thing I know Tomoko is leading me deeper into the Island. "Hey wait, I don't think we should be doing this."
"Don't worry I can just feel that there is a place that we need to be…." Then we found a clearing in the brush. The ground is flat and smooth here and it's also protected from the elements but natural.
"What is this place?"
"I think this is the place."
"That doesn't help in the slightest."
"We could meditate and see what happens."
I roll my eyes but I really have no other option. So we sit across from each other and start meditating. Next I know we are both standing on a mountain and glowing blue. In front of us is an old man in red robes who looks Fire Nation.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"I am Avatar Roku, the Fire Avatar before you."
"Wait really?" I ask.
"Yes and I am here to guide you."
"I thought the Avatar was cut off from all their past lives?" Tomoko asked.
"While Showa's connection to all of his past lives is damaged due to Avatar Korra, we still exist here in the spirit world and due to our blood connection I personally have an easier time contacting you under the current circumstances."
"Who would normally be guiding me?"
"Normally the Avatar before you would be the one to guide you. However due to the direct connection to all the past lives being severed two cycles prior, Avatar Genji is unable to guide you."
"How do you know Avatar Genji's name if it's severed?" Tomoko Asks.
"Information comes and goes here. Especially with the spirit portals still open."
"How do I go about fixing the link between myself and the Avatars?" I ask.
"You must find Avatars Aang and Korra here in the spirit world. But only when your ready as the Spirit World is dangerous and what will need to be done may be even more dangerous."
"I understand."
"How am I here?" Tomoko asked with interest.
"It's because you two are linked. What fate will happen to one shall befall the other. In order for either of you to enter the Spirit World you must be together."
"When did this happen?"
"It can only be assumed that it happened at the moment you met. Now the solstice is almost over but remember we will meet again."
We then return to our bodies unsure about what to make of our experience. However, we didn't have time to reflect on what we had just experienced as the two of us immediately saw that we had company.
"We finally meet the illusive Avatar of this Era. It's a shame you couldn't be trained properly." The old man we saw back at Air Temple Island said.
"I am Grand Master Pu Rohon of the White Lotus and we are here to collect you."
"I heard about what happened with Avatar Korra and I feel that you will be sub par teachers." I replied
"As if an Air Nomad who hasn't even made the rank of Master could be any better of a teacher."
"At least I can trust her, but you?"
"What did the Fire Nation Military tell you about us? That we were power hungry? That we merely wanted to control you?"
"Yeah so?"
"What makes you think that they don't plan to do the same to you?"
"While it's true they groomed me for a role that they want me to play, the Military had no involvement in my upbringing. If I wanted to, I could fallow the path of every other Avatar now that I am away from the Father Land, but I refuse to be a tool for powers greater than me. My destiny is to rule, I am a Prince of the Fire Nation and I will reclaim its place in the Sun."
"Then we have no choice but to kill you and move on to the next Avatar." Pu Rohon stated before launching a wave of rocks at the two of us. The other 7 members with him also started attacking.
I immediately started Fire bending in one hand and Water bending in the other. Tomoko does her Air bending. I quickly noticed an artillery shot coming our way. My crew must have noticed what was going on and decided to try and help. "Tomoko, impact!" I then help us both survive the blast.
I slowly got up off of her, we were both a little toasty but alive. That's more than what we can say about the White Lotus.
