It has been a week since Kim and Adam has slept together. Things had been going well between them. They had sat in a therapy session with Dr Charles to talk about their relationship and the nightmare she had after they had had sex for the first time. Dr Charles had told them that no matter how well things were going nightmares can pop out of nowhere. Last night they had spent the evening apart. Intelligence had had a nasty case so they had been on shift all night. Kim was happy to see his car when she pulled in that morning. She really missed him last night and this morning. As she entered the district she saw Adam on the stairs heading to the locker room. "Ruzek!" Kim called out watching him turn with a huge smile on his face. "Hey Darling!" He waited for her to catch up before pulling in for a hug and kiss. "I missed you last night. How did you sleep?" Adam asked still holding her. "I missed you too! It was lonely but I slept okay. I think the bed smelling like you helps." Kim smiled before they headed into the locker room.
They heard two women talking but they could see them. "Have you seen that new hot Intelligence Officer?" The first one asked. "Yes he's totally hot! But he apparently is dating some patrol officer that already has a kid." The second said. Kim and Adam looking at each other wondering where this was going. "Oh yeah I heard. Rumor is she's a rape victim that doesn't put out for the hot boyfriend!" The first one says. Kim burst into tears and Adam pulled her into his chest as he tried to soothe her. "Hey give me one minute to confront them then you and me are going to see Platt." Adam pulled away from Kim and headed to see who was talking.
"Good morning Officers! Just wanted to get you badge numbers and names as I am reporting you to Sergeant Platt. And for the record yes my girlfriend has a child but so do I. My girlfriend is the love of my life, my soulmate and my missing piece. Now I'm off to report you two bitches. Come on Kim." Adam left after clicking photos of the two officers. They headed back down to Platt to put in yet another report of harassment by a fellow officer. It was ridiculous and unacceptable and Adam wasn't having it.
"Platt office please?" Adam asked as he brought Kim in to the office. "What do you two need now?" Platt snapped out as walked in. "Two patrol officers just pulled a Roman. Look at Kim and tell me she's okay?" Adam snapped back. "Oh god this again. What is wrong with these officers! I got this covered!" Platt left fuming as she say the two officers coming down the stairs. Yelling and pulling them into the back office. "Darling. You know I don't think that about you. I don't see you as a rape victim and we have a healthy, active sex life. So they are wrong and they don't need to know what happens in our bedroom. We are fine now and always will be. I love you always." Adam says as he stared into her eyes. "I love you too always! Thank you!" Kim whispered.
Adam took Kim back to the locker room and stayed with her who,e she got ready for shift. She was determined to get through her shift even if it was difficult. Erin asked as soon as she saw him. "Not really but she's headed out for shift. I just can't believe this shit. It's insane that anyone thinks this is okay. Like I get the jealous crap, being annoyed at her for dating me because that's what started them talking shit. But to bring up her rape and then comment on her sex life pisses me off. And in what two weeks it's her rough week. This was literally the last thing she needed." Adam sat down and just sighed out. He wasn't sure how they would get through this.
"She's tough. She will be okay. Just a rough moment in time." Erin said as she patted his shoulder and then headed back to her desk. The unit continued to work the case and luckily was able to finished it before noon. Adam was grateful for the early day. He went home took a nap and then headed to pick up his son. Kim laughing but trying not to be too loud since Riley was asleep luckily at the other end of the hallway.
Adam closed the door behind them locking it just in case. He tossed her down on the bed watching her bounce, she laughed loudly. Kim got up on her knees to start taking off Adams shirt. After reading her messages Kim headed for the couch. She was surprised and shocked but all happy it had been taken care as promised. "Um okay." Kim got up and walked towards the door Adam not far behind her. "Can I help you?" Kim asked trying to come off as rude. "Yes I wanted to apologize for what happened in the locker room. I thought your boyfriend was hot and I thought it was strange that he would go after a women with a kid. I didn't know you could hear us or that you were a rape victim. I feel terrible about it." The officer looked down in shame.
"Look I don't know you, never met you, never even knew your name, not that I know it now either. But your little friend took something that she found out from my former partner, which by the way he was suspended for too and used it against me. There is a reason I don't tell people I'm a rape victim and it's because people look at me like I'm weak. Well yes I still have nightmares and yes I have had intimacy issues in the past but most rape victims that were raped as children have these issues. I have dealt with this for 13 years and because of your little friend I can almost guarantee that I will suffer from nightmares tonight. So thanks for the apology but it doesn't help much. I truly hope it never happens to you. Good luck with your life Officer." Kim went to close the door.
"Vanessa." She started as Kim looked back. "What?" Kim asked confused. "You said you don't know my name. It's Vanessa Rojas. I'm a rookie. My partner Hailey Upton is supposed to be showing me the ropes. But she got me suspended and on the worst beat. I really am sorry. And I wish those words never left her mouth but they did. And I have to live with that. Just know I'm not like her. I would never have taken something like that and spread it. No one needs to know that unless you want them too. That's all I came to say. Good luck." Vanessa left after that. Kim and Adam watched her leave.
They returned inside back to the couch. "You used the phrase used to when talking about intimacy issues. Good job darling!" Adam hugged her tight. Kim just smiled she didn't even realize it. "How about we go get Allie, have an early dinner and then movie night just the four of us?" Kim offered wanting to see her daughter and move forward. "Sounds amazing! Lead the way Darling! Just like always you lead, I follow." Adam kissed her forehead as they got ready to leave. It had been a crazy day but one she would never forget. And not because of the bad that happened but because she was truly over coming her fears and putting the past behind her. "We came up pretty early didn't we?" Adam asked kind of coursed. "Well we had to rush through our shower earlier so I thought I nice long bath was in order. Just me and you."
