Chaldea
2015
2 hours before the explosion
Ritsuke and Gudako lay on the cold metal floor. The girl was the first to wake, rubbing the back of her head as if she were in pain. When she noticed where she was, she looked around quickly. The walls were a deep sci-fi silver, with nice lights along the ceiling, windows looking out at the snowy landscape. She was in awe. It was like a film - no, a dream come to life. Then reality set in: she had no clue where she was. Her mind went twenty miles a minute, both due to the situation and the caffine in her system.
Ritsuka let out a groan as his blue eyes began to open. Gudako notice a girl with pink hair - Mash - walk towards them. She had on a nice and warm white jacket, with a soft silk black dress that stopped at her thighs, and a red tie for some added professionism. She adjusted the glasses she had one, staring at the twins. Running next to her was a strange white squirrel?
"Fou?" it asked in a curious manner.
Ritsuka seeminly hasn't processed where they were fully yet, nore what was happening.
"Oh my god! It's so cute," Gudako squealed, distracting her mind from her more oppressing thoughts.
The redhead grabbed the small creature and hugged it softly in her arms. It gave a small cat-like hiss before purring at the warmth and comfort it felt.
"Where are we?" Ritsuka asked, getting straight to the point, his mind fully aware of the possible situation.
Gudako merely shrugged, not really paying attention. "This is the passage way from the gate to the Central Command room, Senpai," Mash then turned to Gudako noticing the creature letting her hug it. "He likes you!"
Gudako laughed - not paying much mind to Mash - as it began to crawl around around her arm hoping on top of Mash's head. Mash let out a small yelp of surprise before calming down. Ritsuka gave the girl a confused look, breifly looking at Gudako then back at Mash. Ritsuka thought for a moment. Chaldea, he heard that name before - oh - it was on the panflet he and his stster read. They took the job, and after the interview they passed out.
"One hell of a way to get to work," he noted sarcastically before his attention changed to Mash. "Who are you?" Ritsuka asked.
"Oh, that's are hard question to answer. Maybe I'm not important enough to say my name? No, I have a name, i just don't usually get a chance to say it. I don't leave good first impressions..." Mash explained trailing off toward the end.
Gudako looked at the creature laying on Mash's head curiously as curled up into a ball; it looked like a hat on her head. "What is that?"
Mash jumped in surprise, her mind briefly elsewhere. "Oh, that's Fou, he is usually dislikes people, but he seems to have taken a liking to you."
"Meaning he has a new caretaker," a smooth calming voice rang out.
Fuyuki City, Japan
2004
Ritsuka and Gudako ran like marathon runners for the first time in their lives, with Mash close behind. She was there to be the first to defend the twins from whay was chasing them. The smoke clouded their vision slightly, just enough to make what's up ahead seem blurry.
"Did we lose it?" Ritsuka asked.
"I doubt it, Senpai," Mash responded quickly.
"What is it anyway," the male master asked, looking back at Mash with his blue eyes.
"I pretty sure that was a Servant master. I felt it's presence, though without visual confirmation I can't tell you what class it is," Mash said sadly.
"Not sure what a servant in this context is, but I'm sure we'll figure it out at some point," Ritsuka asid to himself running through the smoke, coughing slight. "Hopefully."
"Jesus, the smoke is getting dense," Gudako coughed, her mind attempting to figure out if this is real or not.
This felt like a dream, as they ran from an unknown threat that was just out view. Ritsuka was absolutely terrified for his sister's safety, he was worried about his family in Japan, and he was worried about his own safety.
"Do you need help, Senpais," Mash asked them is a somewhat worried manner, almost like a big sister.
"We're," Ritsuka began before letting out a small cough, "fine."
Three continued to run, Ritsuka and Gudako slowly being worn out. Mash still felt the presence of the Servant, gaining on them. She felt like they were being treated as prey being hunted by a wolf. Through the smoke they saw someone, a pale figure with an somewhat annoyed posture. They three ran through the smoke, with Gudako running directly toward her. As the redhead got closer, she saw the bueatiful white hair and golden eyes - which looked at her in horror. The woman let out an 'oof' as Gudako fell down on top of her. Ritsuka stopped, looking down upon his sister and the director, trying to hold on a laugh. It was a nice little distraction from the overall situation.
"Master are you alright?" Mash called out terrified, as she recognized the woman underneath the redhead.
"She won't be if, SHE DOESN'T GET OFF OF ME," the woman -better known as Olga Marie, director of Chaldea- yelled, failing
Ritsuka could help but laugh hysterically, leading to a small glare from Gudako as she stood up. "Sorry."
"Director Olga Marie," Mash said in a mildly shocked manner, staring at the director in awe.
"You three!? What's going on?" she asked with a fury in her eye."We don't really know," Ritsuka stated, rubbing the back of his neck.Olga looked at the boy before turning her glare to Mash, who shuttered under the director's glare. She began to open her mouth when a roar rang out. Mash quickly turned around and raised her shield. Ritsuka stepped in front of Gudako in a protective manner. Olga stepped forward slightly, standing a couple feet behind Mash. She saw nothing through the smoke and flames. Then a broght orange orb shot through, like a cannon ball. The orb landed right in front of Mash, smoldering to the touch. Mash looked past her shield with a look of confusion and caution."What is that?" Gudako asked, looking over her brother's shoulder. The orb soon began to beep, like a... bomb. "Everyone behind m-," Mash ordered quickly before being cut off by the explosion.
She was sent flying back, tumbling through the burning streets like a ragdoll. Ritsuka and Gudako's eyes widened, with Gudako being the first one to begin running toward they comrade. Ritsuka was soon to follow, leaving Olga alone; her eyes showing absolute fear and a hint of hopelessness. Her golden eyes watched through the foggy smoke, scanning the area - or what little she could make out - to find possible threats. In a blurry dash toward them, orange orbs stared at them, hints of scarlet blended with the flames, all while engines blazed. Olga shook her head side to side, looking over her shoulder at the trio, then a her widened eyes began a determined glare.
Ritsuka shook Mash who was unconscious. "Mash wake up, we need you!"
"Yeah, we need our knight in shining armor," Gudako begged, eyes shaking in fear and dread.
Olga ran to them, taking Mash's shield and laying it down near them. "Master Candidate #48, I will need your help."
The two turned, looking at the director, both mildly confused.
Olga rolled her eyes, pointing a finger aggressively at Ritsuka. "Master Candidate #48, come here this instance!"
Ritsuka soon got the message, indicated by a slight look down at Mash. "What about Mash!?"
"She will be fine if she is what I think she is, but if you actually want to save her life you will listen to me, dammit!" Olga shouted taking charge, still with her tsundere-ish attitude.
"Go help her, I will protect Mash," Gudako stated picking a near by rock as a weapon.
Ritsuka previous worries didn't disappear but he listened to Olga, heading to help her. "What do you need?"
"I need you to summon a Servant," Olga stated matter-of-factly, turning breifly to see the thing heading toward them.
"A what!?" Ritsuka exclaimed, his confusion reaching an apex.
"Just stand there for right now, I'll explain later!" Olga shouted at the boy, doing something rather strange to him.
A ball of flames barreled past Ritsuka - originating from the monster heading toward them. His burning his hair slightly as he felt his life flash before his eye. He noticed a glow on top of the shield, then he saw Olga's face light up breifly. Olga grabbed Ritsuka's hand and forcefully stuck it out. Ritsuka didn't say a sound, he felt somewhat paralyzed. Within seconds a pillar of blue light shot up into the sky like a beacon. Ritsuka looked at it, following it upwards. Gudako did the same, a face with awe. Mash unconsciously flinched a bit from the foreign light.
The light dispersed, revealing a feminine figure in blue robes under silver armor, a silver and gold knight-like helmet, and silver feathered gloves with talon-like claws. Ritsuka stared in absolute awe at the figure.
"I am Ari, Warlock Guardian of Sol, and Lancer-class Servant. I ask you this question, are you my master," the figure asked in a kind and sweet manner, before turning to the beast which was seemingly slowing down. "One second."
The Servant - Ari - walked pass Olga and Ritsuka, out in front of the metal monster. Ari reached her hand out, summoning in a blue mist: a digital-looking glaive, with a light blue color palet.
"Hello old friend, it seems you came back-," Ari stated before letting out a long, slightly annoyed sigh. "-again. What would this be, the fifth time, ha, are we sure you're not a Guardian." The Warlock began to trail off, her posture stern as she glared up at the now hovering abomination. "Hopefully this will be our last enounter... Taniks."
A/N:
So quick notes: I quite like how most of it went, but I need to slow down a bit more to better show characters, hopefully that I will get better at that as time goes on.
For new servants, after each singularity I will have a dedicated chapter for their sheets, as I have no idea how to format it, all suggestions are welcomed.
For so questions that don't involve spoilers:
Althyrios: The Nine I don't think are equivalent to Alaya, though they are dependent on life in the system for their own survival, they don't really protect humanity in any way. They help sometimes with the Prophecy Dungeon, Xur, and a few other things, but they help Ghaul take over; because one of them wanted for figure out how to control the light. They attempted to kill the Drifter because he didn't give them the information they wanted, and released Skolas. The Nine are a neutral force.
A quick note on that topic, the Nine did punish the membersfor allowing Ghaul to take the City, only because if the Almighty. (correct me if some the lore is wrong or outdated.)
