Chapter 70

Vanna left Allison in John and Cameron's room. She was pretty sure why Cameron wanted Allison to remain. She didn't think anything would come of it under the current circumstances. It was possible it could. She knew it didn't take long to knock off a quickie.
She waited for Allison in their room. She knew Allison was going to need her. She'd been around Allison long enough to know her strengths and weaknesses. They'd been together for better and for worse.
Allison was a little disturbed about Cameron's proposal. Maybe under different circumstances or conditions, things could be different. The way they currently were wasn't conducive to continuing with their earlier proposal. She went back to her room. She was happy Cameron was back, but sad as well. She knew what could have happened. Now it wouldn't. She felt a little defeated. She wanted John's love, and the chance to become a mother the traditional way. She wanted it to be done the way it was supposed to be. She wanted a child created through shared love. Now there was nothing. She felt the need to run. She just wanted to get away from it all.
She was aware Cameron expressed the same feelings at times about wanting to get away from it all. It made her wonder if she got them from her. Well, it would have been from Future Allison. They were the same individual anyway.
Allison returned to their room. She was very relieved to see Vanna waiting for her. She didn't expect anything less from Vanna. She fell into Vanna's arms and cried.
"I wanted to be with John so much, Vanna." Allison said.
Vanna held her and gently stroked the side of her face. It seemed as if there were a lot of moving parts to the entire situation.
"I did too, Allison." Vanna said. "I know we both did. It was something we both wanted. We wanted to honor Cameron and fulfill our promises to her as well."
The more Allison thought about what almost happened, the more it seemed to trouble her.
"How could we even think of doing what almost happened to Cameron?" Allison asked. "We were almost with HER husband."
Vanna knew it was more than that. They waited a long time to do what Cameron made them promise to do. They also waited for John to be ready. Everyone told them Cameron wasn't coming back. It wasn't like they were trying to do something behind her back. They only attempted to do what Cameron asked them to do.
"Since Cameron is back, I can't. I can't betray her." Vanna said. "We ALL thought she was dead or terminated. Even the Terminators thought so. They all TOLD us she was 'gone' and not coming back. John Henry made it a point to make us understand it. They all gave us their 'blessing'. They didn't want to see John continue to suffer in pain either."
Allison never told anyone how close John was to something 'terminal'. She would have gladly offered herself to him to ease his pain.
They both knew Savannah never gave up on Cameron. They didn't realize the depth of Savannah's love for Cameron. It was love stronger, and more pure than ANY of theirs. There were no sexual overtones to Savannah's love. It was pure sweet unadulterated love. It was emotional love of the deepest kind.
Allison was very frustrated by all the events. Now she had a sense of guilt to go along with it. She needed to say something about it. She hoped talking about it would help. It didn't seem it would. She still needed to try anyway. Maybe she needed to try to convince herself she hadn't done anything wrong.
"Cameron did everything to put us all 'together'. Then when it was finally going to happen, she took it away from ME, from us." Allison said. "We waited so long to be sure, Vanna. We didn't do anything wrong. We WAITED."
Vanna didn't think Allison should over think it. She was aware what happened after she left John's room. She felt Cameron tried to reach out to Allison. It wasn't anything negative either.
"Cameron asked you to stay, didn't she?" Vanna asked.
Allison felt even more unsettled.
"You heard?" Allison asked.
Vanna didn't need to hear. She knew how things worked. She was aware of the standard techniques used by Terminators, especially Cameron.
"No. I know she scanned us and she knew you were 'ready'." Vanna said. "Just remember, she asked you to stay again."
The sense of guilt was back even stronger now for Allison. She thought she needed to live with her decisions as well. The timing of how the events played out only made everything even more unsettling.
"Vanna, I couldn't 'stay' under the circumstances. There was no way I could do it when she just got back. She'd been gone for so long. We all thought she was dead." Allison said. "She was missing for months. She insisted I stay. How could I? She just got back. I would never hurt her on purpose. I feel bad enough about what happened, I mean almost happened. We were just minutes away from irreversible events."
Allison realized if she'd gone to John's room a little earlier, Cameron would have 'caught' John and her together. She could only imagine how it would have made Cameron feel, and how much it would have hurt her. Maybe if Cameron would have listened outside of John's door, and heard her with him, she might have left without letting any of them know she returned. Cameron could have just remained 'missing' because of her actions with John.
Vanna wasn't sure it was 'over'. Things were never over with a Terminator until they accomplished the task they wanted taken care of.
"Maybe it still will happen one day somehow. I don't like to think of the reason, or conditions, which would initiate it." Vanna said. "You know what it would mean."
They both knew it would mean Cameron really was terminated. Neither of them wanted to go there with such a thought. It wasn't a good thought by any standard.
Allison was still troubled by everything, especially the way it played out. The situation with Vanna before she went to John's room didn't sit very well with her either. The prospect of anything moving forward seemed rather bleak.
"It will never happen now, Vanna, ever. I can't betray Cameron either, even if she WANTS me too. I can't hurt her like that. It can't happen without her being hurt." Allison said. "I was only there, WE were only there, because WE both thought she was dead. Everyone thought she was dead. We were there because she MADE us PROMISE to be there for John. WE only did what she asked us to do to protect John. John Henry even told us the same thing. John thought she was dead. Now I feel terrible. It's NEVER going to happen, Vanna."
Allison could still picture finding John, with Cameron's Glock to the side of his head, with his finger on the trigger. Maybe if she told Cameron what almost occurred, she would understand they weren't trying to 'cheat' on her. They wanted to give John something to look forward to.
Vanna was sure there would still be more options available to them in the future. She didn't think every door was closed yet. They still presented a viable option to offer John offspring. Savannah would step up into the roll when she could. There was no need to rush it. It was an unpleasant thought to think about. She tried to think of circumstances more suitable for everyone involved. Maybe there was a little selfishness on her part to get a little closer to Cameron in the process.
"I know, Allison, I know. If it ever did happen, I would want it to be the four of us together…." Vanna said. "We don't know what the future will bring."
Vanna and Allison both would rather be with Cameron than John. It was a 'no brainer'. Both girls knew the other one loved Cameron, as much as they did each other.
Their looks at each other were proof of it, they both knew….
Cameron always told them about the future. They were aware of what happened in Cameron's future. It already happened. They were from a different future where none of it happened. The future was fluid, even if it already happened. Nothing was written in stone. There could be other divergent futures, as well as other divergent timelines. There was no way to know what was out there with all of the changes they made to combat Skynet.
They also needed to consider the possibility there were changes other than the changes they made. They didn't know what Skynet, or any of its operatives could be doing in the past, present, or the future. There could be many things changing, which no one had any control over.
Cameron almost forgot about Unit Two and Unit Three when she went back to John after Allison left. It bothered her a little because she made them wait for so long without knowing what occurred. She excused herself and went and told them to come inside after a quick explanation of events. She asked them to get Bob out of standby and find out the story on the new female Terminator who was deactivated, and report to her later. It was something which disturbed her very much. She wanted the full story from Bob.
Unit Two and Unit Three were both more than willing to comply with any request from Cameron. They were both pleased she hadn't carried out any actions which were too extreme.
Cameron thanked Unit Three for making her find out first. She'd been so close to giving up. She knew she could never survive replacement again. She would rather self terminate.
Maybe those weren't thoughts to think about right now. She noted her hand started to glitch. She'd been minutes away from being 'replaced'. It almost happened again. She did need to remind herself it was what she MADE them PROMISE to do. She was very happy for their slow response in following her 'ORDERS'. She always thought humans were a little slow to do what needed to be done. The way things played out, she was glad human nature was able to play its part and delay events from occurring.
She never really saw Vanna or Allison as a real 'threat' to her. Their true love was to each other. It was beautiful love. They were willing to sacrifice their love to be with John. She knew they would have done it because they loved her. Sacrifice was the true test of love.
The more Cameron reflected on the love of Allison and Vanna, the more she realized they weren't a threat to her. They were more of a threat to John. If the situation ever arose, she knew the two girls would be with her, before they would be with John. She didn't need to worry about them stealing John from her, John needed to worry about Vanna and Allison stealing her from him. She was sure it was stronger love.
Maybe it was love she should look into.
Cameron greeted each of the people, or Terminators, as they returned. She told her story and of her return. Savannah was the one most pleased to see her back. She actually seemed more affected than anyone.
Savannah looked at the others as they assembled. She spoke what she believed.
"I told ALL of you Cameron would come back. She always comes back. You just need to have faith and believe." Savannah said. "Cameron is invincible. Cameron is eternal."
Savannah knew her love was strong. It was stronger than everyone else's love.
She pulled Cameron down close to her and whispered. She spoke the truth she felt in her heart and mind.
"I was going to keep my promise, Cammy. It's my destiny. I still will. I'm still going to do it when my body lets me know it's time." Savannah whispered. "I just wanted you to know that."
Cameron wanted Savannah's love for John. He would be a much better man and leader, with love like Savannah's at his side. It was her mission to protect John, as well as prepare him for the future. Savannah could assist her with both of those functions. She wanted to reaffirm her desires for Savannah.
"It's your destiny, Savannah. It's what must be. It's what I truly want for John." Cameron whispered to her. "Promise me again. I need to hear it."
Savannah looked Cameron in her eyes.
"I promise, Cammy." Savannah whispered. "I swear it."
Cameron smiled and kissed Savannah on the cheek.
"I'm counting on you." Cameron said.
Cameron was pretty sure she wouldn't be around forever. She wanted someone with a strong commitment to step up and be there for John.
She knew Savannah, was the same Savannah, who was Future Savannah. She knew Savannah would share the same things Future Savannah did with ALL of them. She would need to work to get Young Allison to feel this way too. The future must be protected. She was the interloper herself. It wasn't any of the girls. It was beyond the scope of her mission to be John's wife. She was there to be his protector and mentor. She was there to provide him with any sexual favors he desired. As his wife, she hindered his development in the direction Future John wanted.
Cameron shared her thousands of nightmares with no one. She was ashamed of them. She was ashamed her mind could produce such 'deviation' and 'filth'. It all happened in her mind. It was the 'sewer' of HER mind, she thought. It disturbed her so.
She couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it, than just images conjured up in her mind, during a continual source of electrical trauma. Maybe the issue was deeper. She also needed to consider the possibility it wasn't.
John and Cameron went away together for a week. No one minded. There was a lot of 'catching up' they needed to do. Everyone thought they deserved a 'honeymoon' of some kind.
There hadn't been one on the day they were married. There had been a long few months of uncertainty for everyone.
John asked her where she wanted to go. Cameron said it didn't matter as long as she could be alone with him often. He made sure they were alone often. He wished he could keep up with Cameron. It was impossible. He soon realized it was because she was 'female'. A female was always good to go. Being a female Terminator on top of it, only seemed to make his 'job' even more impossible to fulfill her.
Cameron witnessed Future Allison, and Sarah, 'pleasure themselves' when they thought they were alone before. She decided to do it when John expended himself and was unable to 'keep up'. She would supplement it with some activity of her own. She'd actually tried it in her future when she saw how it seemed to make Future Allison happy. She wanted to be 'happy' too.
Nobody knew.
Sarah and Kyle were elated for their son. It looked like his future was back on track. He could move forward with his life again. He didn't need all the burdens of the future on his back. There was already enough negative baggage to go around. No more was needed by anyone.
"Kyle, I'm so happy for John and Cameron." Sarah said.
Kyle was pleased too. He could see the love between them.
"No two people deserved each other more." Kyle responded.
Sarah moved closer to him. She could think of another couple as deserving.
"Are you sure?" Sarah asked.
Sarah gave him a kiss and he returned it.
Kyle headed her toward the bed.
"What's good for the goose…." Kyle said.
Sarah began to strip Kyle.
"Is good for the gander…." Sarah replied.
Vanna rolled onto her side as she looked into Allison's eyes. They didn't need to worry about 'what ifs'. They had a known reality to rely on.
"We still have each other." Vanna said.
Allison could feel the love in Vanna's eyes.
"Yes we do, Vanna." Allison said.
It was a reflection of the love in her heart.
Vanna reached out and gently touched Allison's cheek.
"Allison, I love you." Vanna said.
Allison returned the loving look. She touched Vanna back in the same way.
"I love you, Vanna." Allison said.
The two women embraced as they kissed. Things quickly escalated into a full love making session.
They spent more time on each other than they'd done in a long time. They didn't slow or stop when either one of them produced results for the other one. They actually intensified their efforts to produce multiple results. Each one wanted the other to know and feel their love. It was a special time after all….
John Henry was confused. He was sure Cameron hadn't told him everything. He wanted to interact with her. She still possessed her neck port from when she was tethered, even though it was covered with her synthetic 'skin' currently.
He enjoyed sharing with Cameron as they'd done before when they were 'one'. It allowed Cameron's feelings and emotions to be transferred to him and shared with him. They were 'feelings' he didn't have on his own. He thought some were beautiful, and some were sad. He didn't have the 'infiltration programming'. It was designed for the infiltration units to 'grow', and 'expand' their 'feelings', to better blend in for long term infiltration missions. They were supposed to mimic all human feelings and emotions over time. He understood it included the 'hurt' he knew Cameron felt about some things. It was a very disturbing and unpleasant 'feeling'.
He was aware his moral 'upbringing' influenced Cameron. It seemed her need to atone, and pay for her 'sins' and transgressions, was a result of it. John Henry felt it was his fault. Then again, Cameron hadn't blocked or deleted those things. She accepted them as part of her, as did he. He believed it would make him a better individual. He was sure Cameron felt the same way.
John Henry still wished to 'connect' with Cameron. He didn't know what he experienced by doing it. It was a 'feeling' he experienced after his interaction with Cameron on his server. He just knew he wanted to 'connect' with Cameron, again….
He felt other 'needs' he wasn't programmed to feel.
He would need to talk with Mr. Ellison again and review morals….
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Share
For the one we love
Any burden we will bear
We give them our all
As our soul to them we bare
When we feel the love
A chance we will dare
Trauma from our past
It can heal and repair
Those who tread on us
They'd better beware
We will defend our true love
Even if we need to use warfare
They help end the darkness
Once full of sadness and despair
To make us feel alive again
As we become a pair
We must both declare
That no other can compare
Our hearts and minds ensnare
As forever we will share
Nobody
