Chapter 74
Cliff Side
Jesse was sprawled on the floor. She didn't move. Her chest still rose and fell, she was breathing.
Vanna and Allison checked Jesse over after Sarah left.
Jesse was out cold.
"Is she OK?" Allison asked.
Vanna didn't know Jesse's history, but it was a pretty good bet she'd been captured by Scavengers before. She would have been beaten senseless more than a few times if she was. She knew of her personal experience with Scavengers. She knew the price for resistance and noncompliance. She watched what happened to other females and she decided she wanted to survive. She did what was demanded of her, and the treatment was brutal enough.
It was only because she submitted that her body was still intact. She'd been forced to watch other females 'punished' for resisting. She'd seen more than one form of punishment for someone badmouthing a Scavenger. Each Scavenger liked to make a show of the victims they needed to 'discipline'. It reminded those in their custody what awaited them. Still, many chose to resist and fight. They were all dead. None of them died fast.
"I think so. She is just 'out' for a while." Vanna said. "I'm sure she's suffered far worse."
Allison didn't catch Vanna's drift and what she really meant by 'far worse'. It was the second occasion where she watched Sarah take action without hesitation.
"Sarah warned her about bad mouthing Cameron." Allison said. "She already slapped Jesse once and later knocked her down too. Sarah flattened her with one blow from her fist."
Allison never saw it coming when Sarah knocked Jesse down in the TDE room. It just seemed to happen. It was actually much like this. Sarah was just there and acted. It all happened in an instant. It was clear she didn't want to get on the wrong side of Sarah.
Vanna thought Sarah acted partly on her behalf too.
"I don't think Sarah liked Jesse putting her hands on you either." Vanna said. "I was going to teach Jesse some manners myself. Sarah saw what was about to happen. She prevented me from needing to get my 'hands dirty'. I'll have to thank her later on."
Vanna didn't like anyone putting their hands on another female without their consent. She watched, and experienced, too much of it. It was never pleasant for the female. She thought it was unfair females needed to suffer, just because they were females. Every man, and many women, wanted them for their 'natural attributes'.
Allison looked at Jesse's face. She couldn't resist the urge to touch it. She gently did so.
"She's beautiful." Allison said. "I do have to admit it."
Vanna liked Jesse's 'look'. It was very appealing.
"Not to mention smoking Hot." Vanna added. "We would have to be blind not to notice. I love her figure. It is so trim and tight."
John Henry saw what happened on the surveillance cameras. He sent Unit 710 to assist with whatever the situation dictated. He didn't know what would happen next, or if Jesse needed additional assistance. It didn't appear Jesse was terminated by Vanna's and Allison's actions to aid her.
Unit 710 arrived with a blank look on her face. She bent down and scanned Jesse.
"She'll live." Unit 710 said.
Vanna and Allison thought so, but it was nice to know for sure. Sarah hit Jesse very hard.
Allison was still a little concerned.
"Is anything broken?" Allison asked.
Unit 710 hadn't detected anything.
"No." Unit 710 said. "Do you want me to take her to the infirmary?"
Vanna didn't think the injury was too severe. She directed Unit 710 to take Jesse to Derek's room to recover. It seemed like it would be a better place for her to recover. There was no doctor or medic at the Resistance base, going to the infirmary would accomplish little.
Allison noted Unit 710 was beautiful, as well and Hot. She looked Unit 710 over twice. She thought the only thing Unit 710 needed to be a total knockout was a smile.
Unit 710 noticed but said nothing. She would replay her encounter with Allison later….
The unintended interaction by Allison and Unit 710 appeared it could take on a dimension of its own. Then again, maybe it wouldn't, and others would intervene. There was always an interloper waiting somewhere to strike.
Unit 710 headed for Derek's room. She carried Jesse. She scanned her further as she carried her. She was able to detect a multitude of different toxins and pollutants in her body. She noted the tight and trim figure. It was totally opposite of how she was constructed. She looked at her large breasts and Jesse's not so large breasts. She wondered why hers were so large. Only unit 645 had larger breasts than she did. None of the human females on the base were as large as they were.
She observed other human females who were as large, or even larger, when she was out on a mission. She wasn't sure why humans placed such an emphasis on it. It seemed to her large breasts should be desired for nursing an infant, rather than as something to ogle and fondle. It wasn't for nursing the young, but for appearance sake.
Jesse stirred as she regained consciousness in the arms of Unit 710. She was instantly enraged a Terminator held her. She immediately began to struggle.
"Put me down, you 'Metal Bitch'." Jesse hissed. "What are you doing with me?"
Unit 710 stopped and set Jesse down on her feet.
"I'm taking you back to Derek's room." Unit 710 said. "You were incapacitated."
Unit 710 backed away. Jesse almost toppled over. She reached out to steady her. Jesse slapped her hand away. There was 'fire' in her eyes.
"My head hurts. Did you do this to me?" Jesse asked. "I should make you submit to chip extraction."
The blank expression on the face of Unit 710 never changed as she spoke.
"No. I did not. It was Sarah Connor who disciplined you." Unit 710 said. "If I'd assaulted you, you'd be terminated."
Jesse glared at her. She could tell Unit 710 wasn't joking. She thought about what she said about Cameron. She remembered the warning Sarah gave to her. She really knew now Sarah Connor didn't bluff. She never even saw it coming. She wondered why there were so many 'Metal lovers' there. Even where she came from, Metal was loved. She touched her scar and continued to Derek's room on her own.
'Sarah Connor is as tough as her reputation'. Jesse thought.
Unit 710 followed her to make sure she arrived at her destination.
Jesse was more than a little irritated at being followed. She did notice a few things when she was being carried and after she was put down. She wanted to try to take control of the situation.
"You're a real 'looker'." Jesse said to Unit 710. "Whose 'Metal Whore' are you going to be?"
Jesse actually liked the 'look' of Unit 710. She could see why she would end up in some Resistance fighter's bed. She'd really like to have someone like her in her bed, if she was human.
The blank look on the face of the Restorator never changed. She thought the question was absurd. She wanted to remind Jesse of her earlier situation.
"No ones." Unit 710 said. "I'm here to defeat Skynet and protect the future along with John Connor. I suggest you adopt a similar point of view. You will spend less time on the floor and your head won't hurt as much."
Jesse eyed Unit 710 up and down and back again. She liked the spunk and directness.
"I'll be watching you." Jesse said.
She went into Derek's room and closed the door behind her.
Unit 710 tilted her head slightly to the side. She then turned and walked away. The new biological unit 'irritated' her. She figured Jesse's existence most likely would end with termination. Allison and Vanna were much more pleasant to think of. She found replaying her files of Allison much more to her liking….
John Henry decided after the briefing he would put the Restorators to good use. What he didn't understand was Mrs. Weaver trying to get back to her future. It was learned she'd been sending hundreds of Restorators into some future which she thought was hers. The one Cameron came from.
It was decided Dan, Frank, Unit Two, and Unit 645 would be set up across the street from the Reese residence in another dwelling. Ed, Unit Three, and Unit 710 would be moved into the vacant house next to the Young residence in Palmdale. They would clandestinely construct hardened bunkers at both locations. It was suspected because of the 'Legend' of Allison Young and John Connor, as well as the Reese brothers later on, Skynet may have targeted their younger selves for termination before it was defeated. It was much the same concept which was attempted against John.
The Reese brothers and Young Allison would have twenty four hour protection from the four Restorators from Mrs. Weaver and three of the captured Terminators. Al would be near Savannah at all times John Henry was not. They would be put on a rotating schedule to keep them up to speed at the base. Coverage could drop to three and two if no immediate threat materialized. Cameron insisted it never fall below two and one for a short period of time.
Cameron wanted the future protected. She was aware Skynet died hard. Things Skynet put into motion could still be in play. It could have sent back Grays and Terminators already. They could still arrive in their future, or have already arrived in their past.
There were many factors involved with time travel regardless of when an individual actually used the apparatus.
Cameron noted there was a cutoff up ahead. The Terminator was still behind them with Al and Bob behind him.
"John, I think he is going to take the next cutoff coming up." Cameron said.
John wasn't sure how to best play things. If they took the turnoff first, and the Terminator continued straight, they would end up behind him and Bob's team. It shouldn't be a problem in itself, unless the Terminator previously noticed the vehicle they were in was in front of him, and it was now behind him.
"So do you want to take it, or let Bob follow him, first?" John asked.
Al reported he was able to obtain a bobtail truck from a roadside diner, as Bob closed the distance on the Terminator. Al was about three minutes behind Bob at this point.
John Henry informed them he would make sure the vehicle wasn't reported as 'missing', until they were done with it.
The Terminator must have noticed the tail and sped up.
"He made me." Bob said.
Cameron wanted to take action now. They were on an isolated section of the road. It was time to take some decisive action. She could engage the threat herself if necessary.
"We'll stop him now, here." Cameron said. "We're on a good section of road to do it."
Bob wanted to close the distance. He pushed his SUV for all it could give.
"Affirmative…." Bob responded. "I'll move closer."
Al's report wasn't as favorable. The bobtail truck lacked performance on the hilly terrain.
"I'm still three minutes behind Bob, I can't keep up." Al said. "I'm going to fall a little further behind as time passes."
Cameron wanted to slow The Terminator down. She hoped to do it without alerting him there was additional danger in front of him as well. They passed by a number of miniature rock slides along Route 1 earlier. They varied in size from a few small boulders to a lot of loose dirt and rock. She didn't think a few larger rocks would be too hard to believe. She soon spotted what she wanted. She stopped by some larger boulders which fell next to the road from the rocky hillside.
"Take the wheel." Cameron said.
Cameron opened the door and exited the SUV.
John slid over and switched places with Cameron. He got behind the wheel. He buckled in as he watched the rear view mirror. He didn't think the Terminator would be up to their position for at least a minute. He wanted to make sure.
Cameron rolled three large boulders onto the road which blocked it. She was satisfied with their placement. There was no way for the Terminator's vehicle to pass by the location without coming into contact with the boulders. The Terminator would have to stop to attempt to pass. He would need to move at least one boulder. If he attempted to ram one of them, it would total his vehicle.
Bob was able to close up closer to the Terminator. It was part of Cameron's plan to put the Terminator into a bigger hurry once he moved one of the boulders. She wanted the Terminator to speed on the curvy road, as he watched his rear view mirror to see where his 'tail' was at.
They also needed to consider the possibility the Terminator might park and wait to engage the vehicle which tailed him. He couldn't know if it was Resistance fighters or another Terminator. It seemed his first course of action would still be to elude his pursuer.
Al was still behind but closed up the distance some.
Cameron returned to their SUV and they headed down the road. Up ahead there were some curves coming up.
Around the next blind curve, Cameron told John to park the SUV at a forty-five degree angle, with the door open and the flashers on. The vehicle blocking one side of the road, would force the Terminator to go into the oncoming lane next to the cliff side. They attempted to stage what appeared to be an 'accident'. There were signs of accidents all along Route 1. They weren't uncommon.
Behind them and out of view, the Terminator stopped and moved one of the large rocks. He wasn't sure how the vehicle in front of him was able to pass. It would indicate the rock slide just occurred within the last few minutes. It didn't take much effort to shove one of the boulders out of the way. He thought about pulling ahead and pushing the boulder back to where it was. He didn't want to spend the time to do it. He reentered his vehicle and proceeded to speed away from the scene. He now tried to outrun the tail which closed up on him.
As Bob closed on the Terminator, the Terminator's speed increased. When he rounded the curve where John and Cameron were with the staged 'accident' with their SUV, he would be close to the cliff side. He was now moving at a dangerous speed on a sharp curve….
Cameron waited to spring her 'surprise'.
Vanna and Allison found Sarah cleaning her M4.
"Thank you, Sarah, for 'earlier'." Vanna said. "I thought I was going to need to act."
Sarah wiped the spot of blood off of the collapsible stock. She didn't have any regrets about what she did to Jesse. She was sure a large part of her motivation was because of Future Jesse. She knew they weren't the same 'person', even if they were the same individual. Based upon what she witnessed so far, she didn't think they were too different. She knew Jesse was someone who would need to be watched. She was pretty sure she put the brakes on Jesse's arrogant behavior, even if it was temporary.
"It needed to be done." Sarah said. "She'll mellow out now."
Allison was appreciative too.
"Thank you, Sarah." Allison said. "I didn't care for what she did."
Allison didn't mention Jesse put her hands on her before in the future.
Vanna felt an intense dislike for Jesse now, even if she was intrigued by her appearance.
"I hate the Skank 'Bitch Whore' Slut too." Vanna said.
Allison felt she'd given Vanna fair warning earlier.
"I told you." Allison said. "She's shameless."
Sarah thought Jesse should feel shameful instead of shameless.
"If she needs any additional re-education, I'll be more than happy to provide her with it." Sarah said. "I don't like what she did."
Vanna thought about some of the things Allison told her about Jesse.
"She sounds like a female Scavenger." Vanna said.
Allison heard plenty of stories about Jesse after she arrived with Derek. None of them were good.
"She was a group of Scavengers." Allison said. "She's tough and ruthless too."
Vanna looked disgusted. She'd been at the mercy of female Scavengers before. The upside of it was, she found she only liked being with females. The downside was, if they were displeased, they tended to be very cruel. She learned how to best please them so she wasn't 'punished'. She tried to put thoughts of the past, the future, behind her.
"What does Derek see in her besides a good time in the sack?" Vanna asked.
Allison knew 'love' was involved. It always changed everything. Love tended to blind those involved to anything they didn't want to see.
"Derek can't see it. He loves her." Allison added. "Loving eyes are blind. She has mellowed some to be with Derek."
Vanna thought about Jesse's appearance and the way she carried herself.
"Well, she is Hot." Vanna said.
Sarah seemed to agree.
The three females could all see Jesse was Hot. They all knew she was trouble as well.
Cameron looked at the staged 'accident' scene. Everything was as she wanted it. John was up on the side of a small hill out of the way of any direct danger if the Terminator ran into their SUV. She was on the driver's side of the SUV near the rear of it. She wasn't in plain sight. She knew she was in some danger if the Terminator did run into the SUV. It was going to knock her down.
The Terminator's car came around the blind corner. It swerved to avoid the disabled looking SUV as it passed it. He knew it was the vehicle which had been in front of him earlier. He thought maybe it had been damaged by the falling boulders. He needed to avoid it. He was forced to move right up against the guard rail on the cliff side on the wrong side of the road.
Cameron stepped out from the blind side of their SUV and gave the side of the car a shove in the rear quarter panel as it passed. It acted like a 'PIT maneuver'. It sent the Terminator's vehicle out of control.
The Terminator's car swerved back and forth. It crashed through the guardrail and went over the cliff side.
Cameron rushed over to the side of the cliff to see what happened. She saw the car, with the driver's door open, hit the rocks on the surf below and explode into a fireball. She quickly took a step back in case the Terminator's power cell exploded. There was a real possibility the power cell could rupture from such an impact.
She didn't want any damage to her sheath to spoil her alone time with John later on.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
You Don't Belong Here
We know what is ours
It is preordained destiny
It is what is to be
It is a foregone legacy
Then we face a challenge
What could be ruder
When we come face to face
With an outside intruder
The one that we want
Allows them to interlope
What were they thinking
They're acting like a dope
I know what is mine
I may have to attack
I will warn them once
They'd better watch their back
Are you listening to me
Why can't you hear
I will say it again
You don't belong here
Nobody
