A/N: For the sake of those who haven't been able to catch up on S5 or have been spoiled by S5 leaks, those recent eps involving Lila won't be a part of this story. A user has already suggested to me the what if. What if Lila actually had diplomatic immunity? Just a thought. . .

Previously on Destruction. . .

The emotions... the events were rushing at him way too fast. He couldn't get through it and it scared him when he felt himself falling. His vision blurred and blackened.

A frightened call out to him was the last thing he heard before he slipped into unconsciousness.

The school nurse was called to the interrogation room and she arrived quickly. As the procedures followed to help Nino, she put him on his back. Seeing that there were no injuries, she instructed Crow to raise his legs up to thirty centimeters (twelve inches, one foot) to the best of his ability. She made sure he was breathing and that he was. The school nurse watched his chest rise and fall slowly, but she kept watching him for a few minutes before the boy woke up on his own.

Crow let go of Nino gently. He gave the student a worried look. "Are you okay?"

The dark-skinned student held his head for a moment and gave Crow a thumbs up. "Sorry about that, dude. I don't know what came over me."

Detective Crow didn't push on that. "Are you feeling well enough to continue this interview?"

"Is it bad if I ask for us to stop?"

"Not at all," Blackmire replied. "I'm not sure it's good for him to stay here. Could you let his homeroom teacher know that he will be going home since he doesn't feel good?"

The school nurse nodded her head. "Please follow me, Nino." her voice was soft. "You can wait for your parents to come to get you in my office."

"Cool, dude." he followed the nurse out the door.

When he was out the door and it just left the two detectives, Crow looked at his partner with a distressed look.

"Remember not to beat yourself up over these kinds of things."

"I could say the same thing to you." Blackmire joked softly. "Is the boy okay?"

"Yeah. I had the nurse take him and send him home. I don't want that girl around him."

"I don't think anyone wants her to be around anyone."

Crow smiled slightly. He took a deep breath. "Who's the next student we need to interview?"

His partner, Blackmire shuffled through some papers and got the list of students they needed to interview. "It looks like three more students."

"Three more... I wish this was enough to charge her. She's hurt too many people. This girl is dangerous."

"I know. Her diplomatic immunity protects her. It's bullshit. If only the embassy saw how much of a threat she truly was. Then we could prosecute her and we're getting that from both Italy and France. Surely, it'll be more than enough." To change the subject, she looked down at the list of remaining students once more. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was another student they needed to interview, but Blackmire felt they needed to wait. She was in recovery. "Rose Lavillent is our next student. Do you want me to get her?"

"That would be nice." Crow's voice sounded tired.

"I'll be right back." Blackmire left the interrogation classroom.

Students in the courtyard looked over to the investigator with interest. Seemed like they knew what was up, but didn't bother to go up to her to interrupt their work. And what was that? An amok or akuma attack that happened a bit ago? Sure superheroes existed all around the world. The United States had the Justice League and a lot of other groups of heroes. She hadn't been made aware that Paris, France had a group of superheroes. Or maybe she was made aware. Perhaps finding a new lead on Lila got her distracted, which was reasonable. Blackmire slowly climbed the stairs that led her to Marinette's homeroom classroom.

From previous observations of her alternating with her partner to get some students for their interview, she had noticed how Lila glared at her, however, no one seemed to notice. Another thing was that the teacher with red hair seemed like such a pushover.

Blackmire knocked before letting herself in. "Ms. Lavillent," she called out. She purposely avoided the hateful eyes coming from her suspect.

"Should I get my things? There are only five minutes until this class ends!"

"Yes."

Sweet Rose gathered her things and waved at Juleka who looked at her with worry. Then she followed the investigator out the door and to the interrogation classroom.

As they made their way to the classroom, Blackmire asked, "Do you often get those attacks often?"

"The akuma or amok attacks?"

"Is that what they're called?"

"Yes. The Ladyblog is very resourceful about those if you want to check it out."

"Thank you."

"Of course. So, what is this questioning going to be about?"

"I'll tell you when we get there." She found herself arriving at the classroom and opening the door for the student. "Here we are."

Rose went inside. Her bag was clasped close to herself. "Thank you."

"Take a seat wherever."

She took a seat in the single chair across the two.

"Don't be alarmed, Ms. Lavillent. I'm the partner of Fae Blackmire. My name is James Crow."

"So, what is this about?" Rose decided to ask again.

"This is about your friend, Marinette."

"Marinette?" an uncomfortable look crossed her face. "I know what happened to her, but wasn't her doings for attention?"

Crow noticed a dark look cross Blackmire's face. "Fae-"

"Attention." she hadn't even bothered to take a seat yet. "Attention," she repeated back to Rose. Both times weren't a question, but rather a statement. "Didn't Marinette cry for help?"

"No, but-"

Blackmire cut Rose off. "I can tell you're the type of student who doesn't like seeing her friends sad. Can you imagine the countless times Marinette cried herself to sleep, wishing for someone to end the Hell she's endured? Can you imagine someone close to you, say a boyfriend or girlfriend just decided to stop talking to you for reasons unclear and then the next day, you find out they attempted to take their life? Your first thought is they're doing this all for attention?"

Poor Rose looked like she was about to cry. She hadn't thought about it like that. Lila had said a couple of things before class started. Deep down, she knew those kinds of words weren't true, but she didn't want to feel bad. "I... Lila said..."

"Do you really believe the kind of words falling out of someone who hurts others on purpose?"

"She doesn't hurt others on purpose! It's just a condition of hers'."

"What condition is this?" Blackmire was met with silence. "You don't believe Marinette. Why?"

"Lila..." the soft blonde said softly. "She said Marinette was only using us... that she never cared..."

"How long have you known Marinette?"

"Probably more than two years."

"And how long have you known Lila?"

"Less than six months?... Why?..."

"You take the side of someone you've known for less than someone you've known for over two years. I'm going to let you think about it." Blackmire took her seat. She was surprised her partner didn't stop her because now, Rose was crying.
