Chapter 80
Anyone
Vanna was asleep in bed. There was just enough movement to wake her. She noticed Allison was lying next to her. Her hand went and brushed Allison's cheek.
It was so smooth and soft, so perfect….
Vanna's eyes shot all the way open. She knew right away it wasn't Allison.
"Cameron?" Vanna asked somewhat surprised.
Vanna propped herself up to look at Cameron better.
"Yes." Cameron responded.
Vanna didn't say anything. She knew where these conversations normally led.
'Here it comes.' Vanna thought.
Vanna was aware Cameron was relentless.
Cameron looked over at Vanna with her 'big brown puppy dog eyes'.
"You know why I'm here." Cameron spoke again.
Vanna did know. It caused her a certain amount of apprehension. It wasn't the way she liked things to play out. She wasn't the only one she needed to think about.
"Cameron, I know, but I don't know. I don't know if any of us are ready for 'this'." Vanna answered. "I don't think you're ready either."
Cameron seemed a little uneasy. She wasn't sure there was an actual answer. She wasn't sure if there even needed to be an answer.
"When will anyone ever be ready?" Cameron asked. "Is anyone ever 'ready'?"
Vanna needed to tread lightly. She didn't want to upset Cameron.
"Cameron, John is your husband." Vanna said. "You know I love you and I love John."
Cameron pushed her agenda anyway. There were things she wanted to happen and the girls needed to assist her. They were the only ones who were biologically capable.
"I do. It's because I love John, and I love you, why I'm here." Cameron said.
Events were different before. Things were different now. Vanna wasn't comfortable with things this way under these different circumstances. There was a very specific goal and mission before. That was then. This is now.
"Since you're back, I don't feel comfortable doing 'this'." Vanna said. "There are certain moral and social implications which need to be considered. It's something I feel, even if it's not something I strictly adhere to."
It was all a matter of perspective to Cameron. In reality there was no difference. She wanted to point something out.
"You would have done it, if I hadn't come back the day I did." Cameron said.
Vanna felt there was justification and logic behind it. There'd also been a lot of 'pressure' from Cameron leading up to it. There were things Cameron made her promise.
"Yes. I would have." Vanna said. "We were all hurting and we wanted to move ahead with our lives. We wanted to honor our promises to you. We all thought you were dead. John was so alone, we were so alone. You made us 'promise' to not let John be alone. We were all doing what you asked us to do. It was what you wanted for all of us, we wanted it too."
Cameron saw a bigger picture. There was more at play than a few people or their 'feelings'. She planned to continue to push her agenda.
"I still want you and Allison to honor your promises." Cameron said. "Honoring your promises honors me. You MUST honor the future. I won't be here forever. You must restore the 'Natural Order' of Time. You know it's Allison and YOU, not me, with John. I'm the aberration. I'm the 'cancer'. I don't know how to make all of you UNDERSTAND."
Vanna could feel Cameron's frustration. It bothered her deeply. They'd been over the same subject before, many times.
Allison entered the room. She spotted Cameron and Vanna on the bed. It was an usual place to see Cameron. It immediately piqued her interest. She knew it wasn't anything sexual, even if it was sex related.
"Did I miss anything?" Allison asked.
Cameron was pleased Allison came into the room. She'd heard her outside listening to them speak. She was glad she hadn't walked away.
"Not yet." Cameron responded.
Cameron and Vanna both moved over so Allison could fit on the bed next to Cameron on her other side.
None of them minded if they were a little crowded.
Cameron now lay between Allison and Vanna.
Vanna would have liked to have Cameron on one side of her and Allison on the other side. Things weren't about her right now. It was about Cameron and what she 'needed'. It seemed to always cause her a certain amount of grief to dwell on the subject.
Cameron looked first to Allison and then to Vanna.
"You know I love you, Allison." Cameron said. "You know I love you, Vanna."
Allison was very pleased to hear it. She knew Vanna would be really pleased to hear it. Cameron became very emotional during these times. They both loved Cameron dearly.
"You know we love you, Cameron." Allison said.
Cameron was satisfied with her captive audience. It was time to get her message across and make something happen. She wanted to start with the facts. The facts were very cruel and ugly.
"In the future after Judgment Day, most of the children don't live long after birth. That's the children which can even still be conceived. Most pregnancies don't come to term. Many women die in childbirth." Cameron said. "You both know how it is."
Vanna witnessed plenty of it. The more she'd been around it, it seemed to make it harder to think about again. It never got any easier.
"I've seen it, Cameron. I've witnessed it with my own eyes." Vanna said. "It was terrible in all respects."
Allison felt very uneasy in her mind to relive those events. Just to think about them now made her feel a little 'sick' inside.
"We both have." Allison said. "I can still hear the cries and see the pain…. It was beyond terrible to see and hear."
Cameron could 'feel' how uneasy Vanna and Allison were right now. She knew they were back in the past, the future. She still needed to get her point across. There were a lot of variables going forward.
"I don't know if we can stop Judgment Day. We have certainly delayed it. We've passed Judgment Day from MY future and from your future." Cameron said. "I don't know how anything will play out going forward."
Allison understood everything. She was also plagued by her feelings. It seemed to be something they could never make Cameron understand. It seemed Cameron's programming only evolved so far. They needed to deal with what went on inside of their own minds as well. It was important to them. It seemed to be something Cameron neglected to consider, even when they tried to explain it to her.
"Cameron, we love you so much and respect you so much. What you're asking us to do with you 'back', is more than our minds can accept. We would feel like we're betraying you." Allison said. "We have feelings and emotions too. We have to live with ourselves…. We were going to do what we promised, ONLY because we thought you weren't coming back."
Cameron didn't see it as an issue. It was what she wanted. She felt it was what should matter. She didn't see it as anything against her. She didn't believe there should be any moral issues involved. Morals weren't a strong point of Terminators. It was what she wanted. It wasn't something being done behind her back without her knowledge.
"You'll still feel uneasy, even if I ask you to do it?" Cameron asked. "What if I asked you to do it for ME? Are you saying you don't want to do this just because you feel guilty?"
Vanna and Allison both felt the same way. They'd even discussed it, many times. It was exactly how they felt. No matter what they did, they would feel like interlopers.
"Yes." Both girls replied at the same time.
Cameron felt even more frustrated. It was all straight forward and out in the open. Maybe it was time to add some incentive. It was something they'd all thought about anyway. She'd heard the girls 'talk' about it. It was a concept open to her. She was willing to evolve and try new things. It was about protecting John. It was her job.
"It's not behind my back." Cameron said. "It's what I want for John. Would you feel more comfortable if I was there with you? It can be the four of us together. How could it not make it clear it's acceptable to me? It's what I want. How do I make you understand both of you need to replace me? John belongs to you two, not to me."
Vanna and Allison were at a loss for words. They wanted to share with Cameron more than anything. Her proposal wasn't the way they wanted to do it.
Their apprehension and hesitation was evident to her.
Cameron looked at Vanna. She wanted to make her position clear.
"I'll do whatever you want me to do, or share however you desire, if you do this for me." Cameron said.
Cameron turned to look at Allison.
"I'll do anything for either of you, or both of you together. We can do everything." Cameron said. "There's plenty of love to share."
Cameron gently touched each girl's cheek as she spoke to them and looked in their eyes. She was sincere in her proposal.
Vanna looked back at Cameron with tears in her eyes and tears in her heart. She didn't want Cameron to do what she was doing to herself. It bothered her immensely.
"Please stop, Cameron." Vanna said.
Allison felt the same way. It was their dream, but not this way. Not like this. She didn't like the pressure. She didn't see the need to rush anything.
"Cameron, why is this so important to you, to do NOW?" Allison asked.
There were many reasons for Cameron. Maybe she should start with her biggest worry. There seemed to be one constant in the different futures she'd visited.
"I don't think we can stop Judgment Day." Cameron said.
It was something they'd all fought to prevent.
Allison felt the delay of two Judgment Day dates was a good start.
"We have so far." Allison said.
Cameron looked even more distressed. She'd been fighting Skynet a long time. It was in multiple arenas as well as timelines.
"No matter what we smash of Skynet's now, it seems more pops back up." Cameron said. "It keeps growing stronger as we battle it. I'm afraid for John's future. I feel my 'time' is running short."
The girls knew what she meant. The wording bothered them greatly.
Cameron looked at both girls. She wanted to make herself clear.
"It IS running short." Cameron said. "Do you understand?"
Vanna and Allison were troubled by everything Cameron said.
Cameron started to get up. She stopped and made a point to look at both girls one at a time and together. She wasn't giving up without a 'fight'. It was time to lay it out.
"Do either of you, or both of you, want me to stay? If it makes you more comfortable to share with John, I'll share with you." Cameron said. "I'll do anything you desire."
Allison and Vanna wanted to be with Cameron dearly. They just didn't want their friend, and someone they loved, to do it this way. It wasn't the way things should work. They didn't want it to seem like they were forcing Cameron to do something.
"Cameron, don't do this to yourself. PLEASE." Allison said. "I don't think now is the right time for any of us. We love you and John dearly. Maybe one day it can happen for ALL of us. We have to live with ourselves too."
Vanna wanted to be with Cameron more than anything. She would do anything herself to do it. It wasn't the right way at this time. It wasn't fair to Cameron.
"She's right, Cameron. Maybe one day we can, but not NOW." Vanna added.
Cameron knew what she wanted and what the girls wanted. She wanted to make her position clear. It hadn't changed.
"Please think about it for me and John as well as yourselves." Cameron said. "I'm here for both of you…."
Cameron looked at each of the girls as she stood. She walked to the door and paused as she looked back at both of them.
There was a terrible look of sadness on her face.
Cameron left.
Vanna and Allison were both worried to death right now. There was no feeling of joy or elation. There was only the feeling of fear.
"Vanna, what do you think she's trying to do or tell us?" Allison asked.
Both of the girls were very concerned.
"I don't know, but it's nothing good for her." Vanna said. "She thinks she won't be 'around' much longer. To 'replace' her means she's going to be 'gone'."
Allison tried to figure it all out.
"I think she's going to try to go back to the future, HER Future." Allison said.
Vanna worried it involved Mrs. Weaver. There was a lot of uncertainty about her, and what she was up to.
"Is it because it's where my 'mother' is at?" Vanna asked. "Cameron thinks she may have to fight her."
The same thought crossed Allison's mind along with another far sinister thought.
"I think so." Allison said. "I also fear it is about her 'one wish'."
Vanna took Allison's hand. She wanted some comfort after the thought.
"So do I." Vanna said.
They both knew what Cameron's one wish was. It was 'never to have been built'.
"I also think she won't come back on purpose this time." Allison said. "She's trying to replace herself with us for John. It's her goal we're with John, not her with John. She doesn't want John to be 'alone'."
It was clear to the girls what Cameron meant.
"She is TELLING us of her 'death'." Vanna said.
The girls were at a loss on what to do without hurting anyone.
Cameron hoped she would have made a bigger impact on Vanna and Allison. She understood their concern about not wanting to interfere with John and her. It seemed to her, since she told them it was OK, there wouldn't be a problem. Somehow it seemed to make it worse.
She needed to unwind a little. She made her way to the carpool and selected an SUV. She checked it over and made sure it was stocked with various weapons. It was. She got in and drove away from the base.
Cameron half expected John or John Henry to contact her. Neither one of them did. Maybe it was because she hadn't bothered to change from the outfit she wore when she saw Vanna and Allison earlier.
She thought the outfit she currently wore was more suited for what she had in mind anyway. She went through the standard procedure to make sure she hadn't picked up a tail. She hadn't.
She drove by the location where Jesse killed the two street thugs and freed the female captive. There was another vehicle parked in the same location. It actually irritated her to see the two thugs had been replaced so quickly.
Cameron looked around the area before she parked a few blocks away. She spotted two different lookouts who watched over the two thugs with the vehicle. She thought maybe she should have waited until darkness. It would help mask her movements a little more. She didn't want to come back later. She felt the need to administer justice now.
She approached the area where the first lookout was at.
The thug leered at her as he whistled.
Cameron stopped and smiled.
"Do you know what time it is?" Cameron asked.
The thug reached down and took out his phone.
Before he could look up, Cameron moved in and snapped his neck. She pushed him down into the corner. She relieved him of his firearm and his phone. She crushed both of them and tossed them on the roof of the building.
Cameron quickly made her way around the back side of the block. She approached the second lookout. The second thug actually made some rude comments besides the cat calls and crude looks. She repeated the same procedure with the same results.
She took his firearm and phone with her.
She walked up behind the other thug who was standing on the sidewalk shot him once in the head with the captured firearm. She leaned down to the passenger's side window of the car and fired twice at the thug behind the wheel.
There was a female in the back seat. There was a look of terror on her face.
"Get out." Cameron said.
Cameron collected the two bags on the front seat. One contained money, the other one contained drugs.
The female still looked terrified.
Cameron moved to the rear door on the passenger's side. She opened it and reached out her hand.
"If you want to live, come with me." Cameron said.
She pulled the female from inside the vehicle and quickly let her down the street. They slipped into a gap between two buildings which led to an alley.
Cameron reached in the bag and gave the female a handful of money.
"Get on the first city bus you see and away from this area." Cameron said. "Don't come back here or you'll end up right where you were."
So far the female hadn't said anything.
Cameron exited through the alley and went down several streets before she made her way back to her SUV. She made her way back to the base with the money and the drugs. Her original intent was to destroy the drugs. She planned to keep some of them to enact another plan.
Cameron stopped by her room and made herself look Tight. She removed her underwear and put on a very short satin dress, it was blue. She headed for where she knew Jesse would be.
"Hello, Jesse." Cameron said.
Cameron gave Jesse a friendly touch to her face as she scanned her.
Jesse smiled at her.
"Hello, love." Jesse said. "You look really Tight."
Cameron smiled back.
"Thank you." Cameron said. "Jesse, would you like to go shopping with me or get some food?"
It caught Jesse a little off guard. She was still checking out Cameron in the Hot dress.
"Sure, love. I'd really like to." Jesse said.
Cameron smiled at her again.
"Maybe we can hang out more. We can get to know each other better and bond as friends." Cameron said. "Friends have a good time and share with each other."
Jesse swallowed hard. She was 'turned on', as much as she was worried.
Cameron looked into Jesse's eyes as she slowly smoothed her dress over her figure.
Jesse was speechless.
'LOOK at her. How could anyone look Hotter?' Jesse wondered. 'How can she always LOOK so good?'
Jesse wondered if Cameron was 'hitting' on her. She wasn't sure what to say. Perhaps words weren't necessary.
"Maybe we can 'help' each other out." Cameron said.
Jesse wondered where things were going.
"You name it, love." Jesse said.
Cameron felt she hit the target.
"Really?" Cameron asked.
Jesse looked at Cameron in awe.
"Really." Jesse said. "I'd do anything for you."
Cameron smiled. It was what she wanted to hear. She sat down next to Jesse. She let her short dress ride high up her thighs. Everything was clearly visible if anyone looked. Jesse looked. She could see Jesse was visibly excited, and terrified at the same time. She decided to knock on Jesse's door. Her hand rested firmly on Jesse's knee as her index finger moved ever so slightly in a circular motion. She could feel Jesse 'shake'. She wasn't sure if it was with excitement or fear. It was probably both.
Jesse was highly stimulated and frightened at the same time.
Cameron brought a player with her.
'Sundown' by 'Gordon Lightfoot', was the song which started to play.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Cage
The cage holds us
The cage is where we live
No more freedom
Life strained through a sieve
Saved from the wild
Everyday the same
Eat sleep work
Now we are tame
Hands on the bars
We rattle the cage
No one cares
When we cry out in rage
Trapped stuck imprisoned
We know what to expect
Even though a dreary captive
From ourselves the cage does protect
When danger abounds
To the cage we return
Security comfort familiarity
For our Master we yearn
Nobody
