Odin's voice is narrating. He says that long before the birth of light there was darkness. He says that the Dark Elves came from the darkness.
"Dark elves?" Natasha asked.
"The inhabitants on Svartalfheim." Thor responded.
Malekith is walking through a hallway. Odin introduces Malekith and says that he was the most ruthless of them.
Loki looked ready to kill when he saw Malekith on screen.
Odin says that Malekith wanted to transform the universe into one of eternal night.
"How did they plan to do that?" Tony asked.
"The Aether." Loki responded.
Odin says that such evil would be possible with the power of the Aether. He says that the Aether is an ancient force of infinite destruction. The Aether, in liquid form, is shown.
"What the hell? That thing does not obey the laws of physics at all." Peter said.
Algrim looks to Malekith. He says, in Shiväisith that Asgard's forces are upon them.
"What language is that?" Natasha asked.
"It is Shiväisith, a language native to the elves of Svartalfheim." Thor responded.
The bifrost sends a group of soldiers into the battlefield. Odin says that the armies of Asgard that were lead by King Bor waged war against the Dark Elves.
"Have all of Asgard's past kings been warlords?" Steve asked.
The Asgardians and Dark Elves fight.
"Asgard has some very skilled fighters." Natasha observed.
Someone walks up to Malekith. Malekith, in Shiväisith, says to send in the Kursed.
Loki's expression darkened once more.
Dark Elf soldiers crush glowing orange objects in their hands and start glowing orange themselves.
"What did they just do?" Clint asked.
Malekith looks back up at the convergence. Odin says that as the Nine Realms converged Malekith would be able to unleash the Aether.
"So he had to wait for all of the worlds to converge to complete his plan?" Maria asked.
Malekith tries to touch the Aether, but the bifrost sends down more Asgardians in front of him. He kills 3 of them and tries to get back to the Aether, only to realize it had been taken when the bifrost closed.
The three Asgardians smirked. Take that Malekith. Though, Loki knew that he would be back.
Odin says that Asgard ripped the Aether from Malekith and the Dark Elves fell without it. He says that Malekith sacrificed his own people in a desperate attempt to lay waste to the Asgardian army.
"He's a terrible leader." Steve said.
Malekith, in Shiväisith, says that those deaths would mean their survival and that the war is far from over.
A few people looked confused. The war looked pretty over to them.
The two of them get into a ship and leave. The ship cloaks itself and the convergence is now over.
"Where did they flee too?" Gamora asked.
Odin says that Malekith was vanquished and the Aether was gone. He then says that that's what they were led to believe.
"Grandfather lied?" Thor asked, Bor had told everyone that the Aether was destroyed and that's the story everyone grew up hearing.
"I think he told the people what they wanted to hear." Valkyrie said. "Think about it, families were lost and we just got out of war. How would the people react if they were told the Aether was still intact?"
A soldier asks Bor if they should destroy the Aether.
Bor says that it can't be destroyed because its power is too great. He says to hide it where no one will ever find it.
"Something tells me someone's gonna find it." Steve said.
"Why can't it be destroyed?" Clint asked.
"The Aether is an infinity stone, the reality stone to be specific, it cannot be destroyed so easily." Loki said.
Loki is in chains, walking toward the throne. A large group of soldiers following him.
"This is your trial?" Thor asked.
"It wasn't so much a trial as it was a sentencing." Loki replied.
Thor looked confused, why would father sentence Loki without questioning?
"They went a little overboard with the chains, don't you think?" Tony asked.
"Some people might think the opposite." Loki said.
He stops and looks to Frigga. She greets him.
Loki greets her back and asks if he made her proud.
"Loki." Thor scolded.
Loki looked like he wanted to cry.
Frigga tells him not to make this worse.
"I don't think it could get worse." Clint muttered.
Loki tells her to define worse.
Tony, Quill, Scott and Valkyrie all stifled their laughter.
Odin says that he will speak to Loki alone, and calls him the prisoner.
"Prisoner." Loki scoffed.
Frigga leaves, Loki starts fidgeting with his hands. Loki takes two steps forward clicks his heels together then laughs and says that he doesn't see what all of the fuss is about.
"Really? You don't." Fury asked.
"Are you trying to make father angry?" Thor asked.
"As a matter of fact, yes I was." Loki responded.
Odin asks him if he really doesn't feel the gravity of his crimes.
"Oh, I do." Loki whispered, so no one could hear him.
Odin tells him that wherever he goes there is war, ruin and death.
"Take two years out of a thousand and suddenly that defines your entire being." Loki said, angrily.
A few people had to agree with him on that, they have spent a large portion of their lives being defined by their worst mistakes, whether it was by themselves or someone else didn't matter.
Loki says that he went to Midgard to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent god just like Odin.
A few people winced. Was that true or was Loki still trying to piss Odin off?
"Maybe don't do that." Valkyrie said quietly.
Odin says that they aren't gods. He says that they are born, the live and they die just like humans.
Loki tells him to give or take 5,000 years.
"You guys live that long!?" Tony asked.
"Wait, how old are you guys?" Steve asked.
"I am 1,495." Thor said.
"1,070." Loki said.
After a few minutes Shuri started snickering.
"What is it?" T'Challa asked.
"In human years Thor is 24 and Loki is 17." She laughed.
"You're a teenager!?" Everyone asked Loki, who sighed in response.
"That actually makes so much sense." Tony said.
"What does that mean?" Loki asked, not knowing whether he should be offended by that statement or not.
"Oh? Nothing, nothing at all." Tony responded. Loki didn't buy it but dropped the subject.
He tells Loki that he did all of this because he desires a throne.
"He never asked you why you did it?" Wanda asked.
"He has always assumed the worst of me, even before all of this happened." Loki said.
Loki says that its his birthright
Odin tells him that his birthright was to die.
Loki flinched. This did not go unnoticed by Thor.
He says that Loki was supposed to die as a child cast out onto a frozen rock. He says that if he never took him in he wouldn't be there to hate him.
"So he's saying you should be thankful to him because he saved your life when you were a baby?" Nebula asked. Loki nodded.
"What a dick." Tony said.
"I should have left you on that street corner where you where standing." Peter said.
"But you didn't." Shuri replied.
Loki says that if he's for the axe Odin should swing it for mercy's sake.
"Loki." Thor said, worried. Why did he just ask Odin to kill him?
"You want him to kill you?" Natasha asked, confused, why would someone want that?
"It was merciful." Loki responded.
"How is death a mercy?" Strange asked.
"For one reason, I was being hunted for my failure on Earth, And for another: Would you rather spend 4,000 years in a dungeon with no visitors or die? Because I think I would rather die." Loki responded.
Loki says that it isn't that he doesn't love their little talks it's that he doesn't love them.
"I can see why." Tony said.
Odin tells him that Frigga is the only reason he's still alive and he won't ever see her again.
Loki had tears in his eyes, now he really couldn't see her again. Curse these films for making him relive his more painful memories.
Odin tells him that he'll spend the rest of his days in the dungeons.
The guards pulled Loki back. He looked scandalized. He asks about Thor and asks Odin if he's going to make Thor king, calling him a witless oaf, while he rots in chains.
"Witless oaf?" Thor asked, amused and slightly offended.
"Would you like me to think of a better insult? Because I assure you I could." Loki asked.
Odin says that Thor must undo the damage that Loki did. He says that he'll bring order to the nine realms and then he'll be king.
"I get it, I do, but I don't think Odin had to be a dick about it, he could've just sentenced you and been done with it." Sam said.
'Vanaheim.' Appears on the screen. Sif, the warriors three are fighting. The bifrost opens and Thor joins. He brings the hammer down and electrocutes a group of knights. Sif says that she has this under control.
Thor asks if that's why everything's on fire.
The avengers laughed.
Fandral and Hogun take on a large group of knights. Sif raises her shield, catching an arrow that was meant for Thor. A Kronan arrives.
"Is that thing made of rocks?" Clint asked.
Sif tells Thor that its all his.
"I'm glad Korg isn't like that." Valkyrie said.
Loki nodded in agreement. "But could you imagine if he was? I wonder what would happen between him and Hulk." He whispered.
"A fight to the death probably." Valkyrie answered.
"Naturally." Loki agreed.
Thor greets it. The Kronan growls in response. Thor accepts his surrender.
"I don't think-" Steve started.
Thor spins his hammer and brings it toward the Kronan, killing it.
"The downside to being made of rocks, you are very easily killed." Thor said.
Thor asks if anyone else wants to fight.
A few people snorted.
The rest of the soldiers surrender. Fandral tells him to start with the big one next time.
"That's always a good idea." Natasha said.
Hogun walks up to Thor and asks where they're going next.
Thor tells him that peace is nearly won across the nine realms.
"That's good." Strange said.
He tells Hogun to stay there and be with his people and that Asgard can wait.
Hogun thanks him.
Thor thanks him too and calls for Heimdall. The bifrost takes Thor back to Asgard.
"I think that's the first time I've ever seen Hogun smile." Thor said.
"He doesn't smile?" Wanda asked.
"He didn't earn the nickname 'Hogun the Grim' for nothing." Thor responded.
'Asgard' appears on the screen. A crow lands on Odin's outstretched hand, he lets it go.
"Nice imagery." Pepper whispered.
Thor walks up to him. Odin asks him id Vanaheim is secure.
Thor says that it is and so are Nornheim and Ria. He says that their work would've gone more quickly with Odin's help.
Odin says that Thor must think of him as a piece of bread that needs to be buttered so heavily.
"What does that even mean?" Scott asked.
"You guys have weird analogies." Sam said.
Thor laughs and says that that wasn't his intent.
Odin says that the nine realms are at peace for the first time since the Bifrost was destroyed.
"What does the destruction of the bifrost have to do with the turmoil in other realms?" Steve asked.
"Without the bifrost Asgards warriors are unable to interfere if there happens to be some tension." Thor answered.
Odin says that they are reminded of Asgard's strength and Thor has earned their respect and gratitude.
Thor thanks him.
Odin says that there is nothing out of order except Thor's confused heart.
Thor looked like a deer in headlights.
Thor tells him that it isn't about Jane.
Odin tells him that human lives are fleeting and that they are nothing.
"And yet he just told you the exact opposite." Quill said.
"He is right though, that humans die easily." Loki said. Thor glared at him. "I say this not to upset you just to remind you and perhaps warn you. You'll have barely aged and she'd have already passed on." Loki explained.
Odin says that he'd be better served by what's in front of him. Sif is shown sparring.
"Is he trying to set you up with Sif?" Natasha asked with a laugh. Thor groaned. Loki joined Natasha in laughing.
Odin says that he's telling him this as his father and not as the all-father. He tells him that the time has come for him to take the throne. He tells him to embrace and celebrate what he's won. He tells him to join the warriors and eat and drink. He says that he should pretend to enjoy himself.
"He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to." Tony said.
Thor is shirtless, washing himself, he moves to look out the window.
A few people looked away from the screen awkwardly.
Thor, Sif and the warriors three are celebrating. Volstagg yells 'another!' and tosses his glass behind him.
Loki rolled his eyes. "Uncivilized" He said.
"So that's an Asgardian thing, not just a you thing?" Natasha asked Thor.
"It's an Asgardian custom, yes." Thor answered.
"It's an ill- mannered custom that's what it is." Loki said.
Thor sets his glass on the table, then stands up to leave. Fandral pats his back. He walks up to Sif. Sif tells him that there was once a time where he would celebrate for weeks.
Thor says that he remembers she celebrated the battle of Haragon so much that she nearly started a second one.
"Why do Asgardians live for battle? That will forever be a mystery to me." Tony asked.
Sif says that the first was so much fun. She tells him to have a drink with him and says that the all-father shouldn't have another task for him.
"Is she trying to ask you out?" Valkyrie asked. Loki started laughing again.
Thor says that he set himself on this one.
Sif says that his disappearing every night hasn't gone unnoticed. She says that there are nine realms and the future king of Asgard should focus on more than one of them.
Thor thanks Sif for her sword and her counsel then he leaves.
"I don't see why you don't just go and visit her." Peggy said.
'London.' appears on the screen. Jane is on a date.
Thor looked confused. "Has Jane moved on?" He asked, quietly, or so he thought.
"It has been 2 years since you've seen her Thor, can you really blame her?" Bruce asked.
She peeks over the menu at Richard. He slides her a napkin with the word hi written on it.
"This is already so awkward." Sam said.
They greet each other and put the menus down. Richard asks her for her story.
"It is a long and cautionary tale." Clint joked.
Jane asks why there has to be a story then says that there is no story.
Richard says that she spent the first 10 minutes of the date hiding behind a menu that has 3 choices on it. He says that they are chicken, vegetarian or fsh. Then he says that he thinks there's story and he thinks that the story involves a guy.
"Right on the money." Tony said.
Thor looked upset. "Thor, your jealousy is showing." Natasha said.
"Do not worry, brother, she has not moved on" Loki said. The 'yet' was left unspoken, but heavily implied.
Jane says that its complicated.
"More than that." Scott said.
Richard asks if the guy is still around.
Jane says that he went away.
"That's one way to put it." Valkyrie said.
Richard says that he's been there. He says that he'd been seeing a woman and she got a job in New York and that the long distance killed the relationship. He adds that she was sleeping with other guys.
"Poor guy." A few people said.
Jane looks shocked.
Richard says that there were so many.
"Yikes."
Darcy walks up to their table.
"Saved by the intern." Natasha joked.
Richard, mistaking her for the waitress, asks Darcy if they could get some wine.
Darcy says that she'd love some.
"I would too." Valkyrie, and Tony both said.
Jane introduces Richard and Darcy to each other and asks Darcy what she's doing there.
Darcy grabs a chair from another table to sit in. Richard greets her awkwardly.
"Type F to pay respects for Richard." Ned said.
Darcy says that she went to the lab/ Jane's mom's house expecting to find her in her pajamas eating ice cream sna obsessing about Thor.
Thor looked down guiltily, he should have tried to visit Jane sooner, like he promised her he would.
Darcy then says that she isn't and says that Jane is wearing lady clothes then asks if she showered and says that she smells good.
"Why is she there?" May asked.
Jane asks if there's a point to this because there needs to be one.
"Yeah, Darcy stop embarrassing the poor girl." Valkyrie said.
Darcy reminds her of the scientific equipment that she doesn't look at anymore and says that she should start looking at it again.
She hands Jane something. Jane says that its malfunctioning.
Darcy says that she said the same thing. Jane bangs it on the table.
"Again with the hitting things to make them work." Shuri sighed.
Darcy says that she dd the same thing and she thought Jane would do something more scientific.
Jane says that she's sure its nothing and hands the thing back to Darcy.
Darcy says that it doesn't look like its nothing and says that it looks like what Erik was rambling about.
A few people looked confused, wanting to know what Selvig was talking about.
Darcy turns to Richard and says that Erik is their friend who kind of went banana balls.
"Selvig went crazy?" Thor asked.
Jane tells her that they're not interested and says that its time for her to go.
"I think she is interested." Natasha said.
'Perhaps too interested.' Loki thought.
Darcy gets up and leaves.
Richard makes a comment about her being short but sweet.
Jane says that she needs help.
Richard says that he's going to have the seabass.
Jane says that sea bass is good.
"She's distracted again." Shuri practically sang.
Jane repeats the words 'sea bass' 9 times.
A few people start laughing.
Richard tells her to stop saying 'sea bass' and help Darcy.
"Great idea." Tony said.
Jane says that the date was fun then she leaves.
Richard says that he'll stay there and say 'sea bass' alone.
"I still feel bad for the guy." Steve said.
Jane gets inside of the car Darcy's sitting in and says that she hates her.
"Rude."
Darcy says that she thought he was cute.
Jane tells her to shut up and drive.
The teenagers started singing the song 'Shut up and Drive.' The adults rolled their eyes.
Darcy starts driving. Ian, who's sitting in the back seat, tells Darcy to take the next left. Jane gasps, startled.
A few people gasp in time with Jane, also startled. Where'd he come from?
Jane asks who he is.
Darcy says that he's her intern.
"The intern has an intern?" Natasha asked. "Never thought I'd see that one."
Ian tells Jane that it's an honor to be working with her.
Jane says that she needs to call Erik.
Ian tells Darcy to take a right. Darcy makes a sharp turn. Ian tells her to take a left. Another sharp turn.
"So she's still a terrible driver." Clint said.
Darcy says that she's mastered driving in London.
"I don't think you have." Strange said.
Jane, over the phone, greets Erik and asks him where he is. She says that she came to London because he said he was onto something but then he vanished.
"Where did he run off too?" Thor asked.
A news reporter is outside of Stonehenge talking about and interesting infolding of events. Erik is running around naked.
"I've been there." Tony said.
"Stonehenge or running around naked?" Clint asked.
"Both actually." Tony answered.
A few people reluctantly laughed.
Others were worried, what happened to Selvig?
The reporter says that the police reported the scene shortly after 11am after a harmless rambler approached the area and stripped naked and terrorized the tourists with scientific equipment while saying that he was trying to save them. The reporter says that the man was later identified as Dr. Erik Selvig and has been called in for questioning.
"Is he actually crazy or is he on to something?" Tony asked. "Or both." He added as an afterthought.
"It could have been the mind control." Steve suggested.
"Please tell me that, if that's true, I don't end up like that." Clint said.
Thor frowned. What has happened to his friends while he's been gone?"
Jane, Darcy and Ian all step out of the car. Darcy tells her to come on because it's exciting. She says that ian is exited, calling him the intern.
"He has a name." Wanda frowned.
Ian says that his name is Ian.
"Ah, that's his name. Good to know." Tony said.
Darcy asks Jane if she wants the phase meter.
Jane says she doesn't.
Darcy tells Ian to bring the phase meter, then tosses him the keys and follows Jane.
"She's so mean to him, but I don't know whether to laugh of be worried." Sam said.
Darcy says that its the toaster looking thing.
Ian says that he knows what the phase meter is.
"Poor Ian."
Jane's phone starts ringing she asks how to change the ringtone.
Darcy says that an Astrophysicist with 3 degrees should be able to change her ringtone, it was her who called Jane.
"She's not wrong." Shuri said.
Jane asks her why she's calling her.
Darcy says she didn't want to shout.
"Seems reasonable." Coulson said.
Darcy says that Ian said its this was, calling him intern.
Ian says that his name is Ian. They walk inside.
"An abandoned building?" Rhodey asked.
Darcy says that she isn't getting stabbed in the name of science.
"Why not?" Shuri asked. T'Challa looked worried.
"I got a golf ball thrown at my head in the name of science." Peter said. Ned laughed, he was the one to throw said golf ball.
"I've gotten seriously injured countless times in the name of science." Tony said.
Bruce looked worried. Why would people purposely injure themselves in the name of science.
Darcy puts her hands up and says that its okay because they're Americans.
Jane asks if that was supposed to make the kids like them.
"It wont work." MJ said.
3 teenagers walks out from behind a wall. The girls says that they'll make it go away. The boy shushes her.
"Make what go away?" Strange asked.
"I guess we'll find out." Howard said.
Jane realizes that they're kids.
The girl asks if they're the police.
Jane says that they're scientists before backtracking and saying that she is.
"A scientist, her intern and her intern's intern." Hope said.
The girl says that they just found it.
Jane asks the kids to show them. The kids lead them to a truck. One of them lifts it with his fingers, it starts floating.
"What!?" Everyone except the Asgardians yelled.
"The convergence." Thor realized. "Its starting."
"Is that a bad thing?" Steve asked.
"As long as Malekith and Kurse are still alive and the Aether is not destroyed, yes it is a bad thing." Thor responded.
Darcy says that that doesn't seem right.
"Because its not." Tony said.
"Well, technically, it is, in events leading up to the convergence, things such as this will happen." Loki corrected.
They are now in a stairwell. One of The kids drops a glass bottle, and it disappears.
"Where did it go?" Hope asked.
The girl points up and they see the bottle fall again, now stuck in a loop.
"This is freaky." Quill said.
The kid who threw it catches it again. Jane says that its incredible. she grabs an empty pop can and drops it, it doesn't reappear like the bottle did.
"What happened to it?" Fury asked.
"It got stuck." Loki answered.
Jane asks what happened.
One of the kids says that sometimes they come back and sometimes they don't.
"So where are they getting stuck?" Gamora asked.
Darcy says she wants to throw something and tells Jane to give her her shoe.
A few people laughed at Darcy's antics.
Jane looks back at the readings and says that she hasn't seen readings like them since New Mexico.
Jane runs off ans tells them not to touch anything.
Darcy tells Ian to giver her his shoe.
Everyone laughed.
"I hope she doesn't actually throw it, what if it doesn't come back?" Peter asked. "I'd hate to go through the rest of the day with only one shoe."
Jane's device starts beeping rapidly and the wind picks up. Ian throws the keys, they don't come back. Darcy asks if they were the car keys.
"Oh shit."
Jane walks further into the building. The wind picks up again.
"How is the wind blowing if she's inside?" Bruce asked.
The wind sucks Jane through the wall, now she's standing on the edge of a cliff.
"What the hell?" A few people asked quietly.
"Where did she go?" Strange asked.
She sees a faint red glow and walks toward it.
"No, don't do that." Tony said. "Have you learned nothing from horror movies?"
She sticks her fingers inside. The red glow disappears. Jane rubs at her arms then collapses.
Thor looked worried.
Malekith's ship, which is floating in space, powers up. He awakens. He says, in Shiväisith the the Aether awakens them and the convergence returns.
