A storm starts. Thor walks with Jane through Svartalfheim, they reach a cave. Jane says that Malekith is going to unleash the Aether, but he's not going to only use it on asgard or a star. She says that Malekith is going to destroy everything.
"So she saw all of that when he pulled the Aether from her." Bruce asked.
Thor asks how.
Jane says that she saw him on Earth and asks why he would go there.
"No offence, but trouble always seems to follow you to Earth." Coulson said.
Thor says that its because of the Convergence.
Jane says that none of the would've happened if she never found the Aether.
Thor says that if she didn't Malekith would have had it sooner.
"So you're saying he could only find it when the convergence is near?" Shuri asked.
Jane says that she only found it because she was looking for thor.
Thor felt guilty. Right now somewhere on Earth, Jane was upset because he hadn't came back like he promised.
Thor puts his hand on her shoulder. Jane says the they're trapped there. Her phone starts ringing.
"She get's cell service on an alien planet? I can't even get mine to work inside my own house." Ned said.
She answers her phone. Richard is on the other line.
"Uh-oh. Here comes the jealousy." Natasha said.
Jane asks him where he is.
Richard says that he's still at the office and that it's been a crazy day.
Jane puts him on speaker and says that this is amazing.
"And now she's gonna confuse the poor guy." Clint said.
Richard says that he enjoyed their lunch despite that they never ordered anything.
Jane asks how she's getting service.
"Maybe that's one of the points that's currently connected to Earth." Bruce suggested.
Richard asks if its a bad time.
Jane tells him not to hang up.
Richard asks her on another date and says that they could try dinner.
Jane says yes and tells him to stay on the phone.
"Something tells me she's paying little attention to what he's saying." Rhodey said.
Jane sees a pop can and the car keys on the ground.
"So that's where all of that stuff went." Peter said.
"Wonder if I'll find my missing socks there."
She picks the keys up. Richard asks if he's interrupting something.
Jane says he isn't. The tells Thor to follow her.
Richard asks if he's losing her and asks if she's in a tunnel.
"Actually, yes." Peggy said.
Thor asks where they're going.
"Earth." Everyone answered.
Richard is still talking.
Thor asks why there are so many shoes in there.
"Darcy." Thor said with a fond smile.
Thor and Jane appear outside of the factory. They get into an old car. Thor asks who Richard is. They drive away.
"And there it is folks!" Clint yelled.
They walk into Jane and Darcy's apartment. Darcy and Jane greet each other. Darcy tells her that she can't leave like that and says that the whole world is going crazy. Thor hangs Mjolnir on a coat-rack.
Peter gasped. "The coat rack's worthy." He said.
Darcy tells her that the stuff they saw is spreading. She notices Jane's new attire and asks if she went to a party.
Jane sees Erik and greets him. Erik greets her. He hugs her and notes that she's been to Asgard.
"Why is he not wearing pants?" Strange asked, mildly disturbed.
Jane asks him where his pants are.
Ian says that Erik says it helps him think.
"You know, what. Not even gonna question it." Tony said.
Jane tells Erik that she needs everything that he has, including the work on gravimetric anomalies.
Thor asks Erik if he's well.
Erik laughs, his smile quickly falls. He asks if Loki isn't coming.
Thor tells him that Loki's dead.
"Except you're not." Thor said, angry.
Erik thanks god then quickly says that he meant he's sorry.
Thor thanks him. Erik hugs him.
"That first part was just a little insensitive. He can not like Loki all he wants to but just don't say it to his brother's face." Steve said.
On Svartalfheim, Loki, now healed, stands up and shape-shifts into a guard.
"What are you planning, Loki?" Thor asked.
Odin is staring at the destroyed throne. The guard walks up to him and asks Odin to forgive him but he has returned from the Dark World with news.
Odin asks about Thor.
The guard says that there's no sign of Thor or the weapon but they found a body.
Odin realizes that they found Loki.
"Loki... why did you fake your death?" Thor asked.
"A number of reasons. For one: Did you honestly think that after this was all over, I would just go back to my cell and be forgotten for the rest of my life? And for another: I was still being hunted, if word got out that I was dead, I wouldn't be. And besides, either way you all would have forgotten about me so, what was the point of living and being neglected?" Loki answered.
"Okay. Why did you return to Asgard, you could have gone anywhere." Gamora asked.
"Well I wanted to see the look on Odin's face when I told him that I'd 'died'. Just to see of he would feel anything, if he still cared. And we'll get to the other reason later." Loki said.
Jane says that Malekith will fire the Aether at the spot where all of the worlds connect.
Erik says that it will amplify it's impact and with each additional world it's power will increase. He says that the effect would be universal.
"Oh my god. The entire universe, covered in darkness." Coulson whispered.
Thor says that the alignment is temporary and he needs to be in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.
"How are you going to figure out where that is?" Howard asked.
Darcy asks how they find out where that is.
Erik says that they'll follow the instructions. He says that this has happened before and the ancients were there to see it.
"They studied it." Bruce said.
He puts a map on the table and lists off constructions including the Mayas, Chinese, and the Egyptians he says that they made use of the gravitational effects of the Convergence and they left a map. He lists off locations including Stonehenge, Snowdon and the Great Orme and they lead them to- he points at a spot on the map.
"In Greenwich?" Thor asked.
Jane says that the walls between the worlds will almost be non-existent. She says that physics is going to go ballistic.
"She's got that right." Tony said.
She talks about the increase and decrease in gravity and the spatial extrusions. She says that the fabric of reality is going to be torn apart.
Erik says that he should get his pants.
"Please do." Strange said, not wanting to see anymore of pant-less Selvig.
Darcy and Ian are outside of a Library in Greenwich, taking Selvig's devices out of the car. She tells Ian to focus because this is important. She says that they need to hammer in the devices all around the site and Jane and Erik will activate them from the tower.
Ian says that the devices are taped together.
"That's not very professional." Shuri sighed.
Darcy asks if he knows what the devices do.
Ian says she doesn't.
Darcy says she doesn't either.
"Oh dear."
Selvig and Jane are inside of the library, with another device. Jane's shoes are squeaking, a lady shushes her for it.
"Because you can totally control what your shoes do when they hit tiles." Peter said.
Darcy and Ian start hammering in one of the devices. Darcy tells him to come on. Malekith's cloaked ship approaches. People scream and run away, the ship uncloaks itself.
"We're running out of time." Thor said, uneasy.
Ian says 'holy-'
Darcy says 'shit.'
"Awe, their finishing each other's sentences." MJ said.
Malekith steps off the ship, along with a group of dark elves. He looks up and observes the Convergence. Thor drops down in front of him. Malekith tells him that he didn't need to come so far because death will come for him soon enough.
"I think not." Thor growled.
Thor says he won't die by Malekith's hand. They start walking toward one another.
Malekith says that his universe was never meant to be.
"I think it's yours that isn't supposed to be." Thor countered.
Malekith says that his world and family will be extinguished. He attacks Thor using the Aether, Thor gets thrown back.
"This is going to be one hell of a fight." Rocket said.
Erik and Jane are in the tower. Erik says that they're running out of time and asks if she's sure it'll work because the devices were made to detect anomalies not cause them.
Malekith knocks Thor back with the Aether once more. Thor stands up. Malekith hits him with the Aether again, but this time he remains standing. Thor says that he thought Malekith would hit harder given the power he has.
"I do wish you would stop mocking your enemies." Loki sighed.
Thor hit him.
Thor throws Mjolnir at Malekith, knocking him into the dark elves.
"Extreme bowling." Ned whispered.
He hits a pillar, breaking it, then falls into a car. Thor uses lightning to electrocute Malekith. Ian and Darcy hammer in another one of the devices. Erik says that the Convergence will be at full effect in 7 minutes.
Jane says that they just need to keep Malekith busy for 8.
"That doesn't seem to hard." Thor said lightly.
Jane tells him that he might want to hold onto something and she activates the device, a blue light emits from it, some Dark Elves disappear.
"Whoa, that was awesome." The teenagers said.
Darcy says that that was awesome and asks her how she did it.
Jane starts to explain it. Darcy cuts her off and tells her to get the guy with the sword.
Jane activates the device again, accidentally making Darcy and Ian disappear.
"Wrong people." Clint said.
Jane and Darcy re-appear in the street. Darcy asks what just happened. 2 dark elves drops onto the car next to them. They start running, the elves chasing them. Malekith tries to hit Thor with the Aether, Thor ducks. Malekith disappears.
"Now this is just getting confusing." Tony said.
Jane and Erik are running through the library, people are watching the fight through the windows. Jane asks what they're doing and tells them they they need to get out of there.
One of the kids asks if she's joking and says that Thor is out there waving his magic hammer.
"Oh, sure just forget about your own personal safety." Bruce said.
Thor hits Malekith with Mjolnir. Bricks get removed from the ground and glass gets shattered. Malekith throws Thor into the roof of the library, then flies back and tackles Malekith into some cars. Sending them and the cars into Svartalfheim.
"This is so weird. The disappearing and reappearing on random planets." Peter said.
They start falling and reappear back on Earth, they fall through the ground and lands back on Svartalfheim. Thor throws his hammer at Malekith, it goes through him and into space.
"Okay what?" Rhodey asked.
Malekith sends a distracted Thor away from him with the Aether.
"This is a weird fight." Shuri said.
They fall through the ground again and land on a building on Earth, they slide down the glass. Thor calls Mjolnir and it comes flying back to Earth and Thor and Malekith fall back through the 'portal'. Mjolnir continues its trajectory upwards.
"Poor hammer, probably so confused." Ned said.
A plane makes it way to Malekith's ship. The pilot confirms that the ship is hostile.
Someone gives the pilot permission to engage.
The pilot says that the missile is on its way. Releases the missile and says that its no on target.
"Well, shit."
The pilot says he's losing control. The jet lands in Vanaheim.
Jane and Erik are now outside. Erik asks her what she's doing.
Jane says that the signal's lost connection. Dark elves start chasing them. Jane stops.
"What are you doing? Run!" Thor yelled.
Erik pulls her away. Thor and Malekith land in Jotunheim. A giant animal comes to attack them, it gets transported. Ian and Darcy start getting chased by dark elves. The animal from Jotunheim appears in front of the elves. It eats one.
"Well, that was convenient." Tony said.
More dark elves start chasing them. Ian lifts up a car and smashes them. He asks Darcy is she's alright.
Darcy says he saved her life.
"They're going to kiss." Natasha said.
Ian says he did. Jane activates the device again. Jane and Ian appear in front of her, kissing, the dark elves disappear.
Natasha smirked.
Jane questions Darcy. They break apart, Ian falls. Darcy greets Jane.
Erik questions Ian. Ian greets Erik.
Mjolnir flies past them. Darcy notices and calls it mew-mew.
"I think, now, she's doing it on purpose." Loki said. Thor sighed.
Malekith appears in the grass.
Thor appears in a subway. Someone over the PA tells them to mind the gap.
The train doors open. Thor asks how he gets to Greenwich.
A woman tells him to take this train and it's in 3 stops. Thor gets on the train.
"Poor woman is probably so confused." Shuri said.
Malekith looks up and notices that the Convergence is getting closer he walks toward it and uses the Aether to bring forth the darkness.
"No." Thor whispered. They were out of time.
Jane and Selvig notice. Jane says that they're out of time. She starts running toward it.
The Aether surrounds the ship and starts making its way to the other realms. Thor sees. Jane tells him that they're too late.
"No. We can't give up now." Thor said.
Erik tells him that the Convergence is at its peak.
Thor looks at the objects in Erik's hands and asks if they can stop Malekith.
Erik says they can't from where they're standing.
Jane says that they can't get close enough.
Thor says he can. He takes the objects from Selvig and runs toward Malekith.
Thor sighed in relief, they weren't going to give up.
Malekith says that darkness returns and asks if Thor has come to witness the end of his world.
"I've come to put an end to yours." Thor growls.
Thor says he came to accept Malekith's surrender.
"People don't typically surrender because you say they do, but go off I guess." MJ said.
He throws one of the objects at Malekith he catches it. Jane activates it, Malekith's arm disappears. Thor throws another one and Malekith's other arm disappears. It lands on Svartalfheim. Malekith asks Thor if he thinks he can stop it. He says that the Aether can't be destroyed.
"But Malekith most definitely can." Thor said.
Thor says that he can and he calls Mjolnir and starts running toward him. He hits Malekith, the Aether's power dissipates. Jane activates the last device and Malekith disappears.
"Finally."
Thor smiled in contentment.
Thor is lying on the ground. Malekith's ship starts sinking into the Earth. Jane runs toward him and tries to pull him away as the ship starts to fall.
Thor frowned. He wasn't dead... was he?
Erik arrives. Darcy and Ian arrive. Jane hugs Thor tightly, thinking that the ship is going to fall, it doesn't. The ship falls to Svartalfheim and crushed Malekith.
Everyone let out sighs of relief. The bastard was finally gone.
Erik asks if everyone's okay. Thor opens his eyes. Ian and Darcy kiss again.
Thor smiled at that.
"That's a hell of a lot of destruction." Fury said.
Jane, Ian, Darcy and Selvig are all eating. Darcy says that Thor's going to come back. He says that last time he was gone for 2 years.
"I won't be making that mistake again." Thor said.
Jane says that it's only been 2 days.
Erik asks if he said anything before he left.
Jane says he went to go figure some thing out with Odin because he committed treason on their way out of Asgard.
"I can't imagine that's going to go over well." Hope said.
Thor is talking with Odin. Odin says that Thor once said that there would never be a wiser king than him. Odin says he was wrong.
"I'll say." Quill said.
Odin says that the alignment has brought the realms together and every one of them saw Thor offer his life to save them. He asks what Asgard can offer its new king in return.
Thor says it can offer his life and tells Odin that he can't be King of Asgard.
A few people, even Thor himself, looked shocked. He wasn't going to accept the throne?
He says that he will protect the realms with his every breath but he can't do that from a chair. He says that Loki, for all of his imbalance, understood ruling as he never will.
"You really think that?" Loki asked, skeptically.
He says that the brutality and sacrifice changes people and says that he'd rather be a good man than a great king.
"You have grown wiser." T'Challa said.
Odin asks if this is Thor speaking to him or the woman he loves.
Thor asks if he doesn't hear Frigga's voice when Odin speaks.
"Behind every great man, there's a woman." Peggy said.
Thor says that this isn't for Jane and says she doesn't know what he came to say. He says that it will change nothing if Odin forbids him to see her.
"Good." Steve said.
Odin says that he had one son who wanted the throne too much and one who won't take it. He asks if this is what his legacy is.
Thor says that Loki died with honor and he'll try and do the same. He asks if that legacy isn't enough.
"Except you didn't die!" Thor yelled.
"You're still upset about that?" Loki asked.
Thor holds Mjolnir out to Odin, who does not accept it.
Thor frowned, that was strange. Why would he not take it. Even stranger, why was he not being punished for treason?
Odin says it belongs to him if he is worthy of it.
Thor says that he'll try to be.
Odin says that he can't give his blessing or wish him good fortune.
"That's rude."
Thor says he knows and turns to leave.
Odin says that he can't say if he's proud of the man his son has become. He tells Thor to go.
"He can't say whether or not he's proud of you or not?" Wanda asked.
Thor thanks him and leaves.
'Odin' is revealed to be Loki. Loki thanks Thor.
"You took the throne!?" Thor yelled.
"I did." Loki said.
Sif and Volstagg are meeting with the Collector.
"Ugh, him." The guardians said.
The woman introduces The Collector as Taneleer Tivan.
"He's the Grandmaster's brother." Valkyrie said.
The Collector sees the Asgardians and says that its an honor. He bows.
"Very dramatic." Tony said.
Sof says that he knows why they're there.
He says that he does and asks why they won't keep it in their own vault.
Volstagg says that the Tesseract is already there and it is unwise to keep 2 Infinity Stones in the same place.
"So he is smart." Loki said.
The Collector says that its wise and says that the Aether will be safe in his collection.
"I sincerely doubt that." Gamora said, remembering what happened with the power stone.
Sif and Volstagg leave.
The collector says that he has 1 down and 5 more to go.
"So he's after all of them too?" Fury asked.
"Well, yes. But he's almost harmless, at least he isn't planning to use them for evil. But it is not safe to have more than one infinity stone in the same place." Quill said.
Jane, Erik, Darcy and Ian hear the sounds of thunder, Jane looks out and smiles as she sees lightning, Jane walks out onto her balcony as Thor appears, they embrace and start kissing.
A few wolf whistles were heard.
