The quinjet lands outside of a farmhouse. The avengers walk up to the door, Clint helps Natasha. Thor asks what the place is.
Tony guesses that it's a safe house.
"Safest house I know." Clint said.
They walk inside. Clint announces his arrival A pregnant Laura Barton walks in.
The avengers, save Natasha, all looked confused.
"Who is this?" Tony asked.
"My wife, Laura." Clint answered.
"You're married!?" Thor, Steve, Bruce and Tony asked.
He says that they have company and apologizes for not calling ahead. Laura kisses him.
Tony says that she's an agent of some kind.
"Really?" Clint asked.
Clint introduces them to Laura. Laura says that she already knows their names. They all look at her awkwardly. Tony waves.
"This is... awkward." Sam said.
Lila and Cooper run in. Clint hugs his kids. Tony says that they're smaller agents.
"Is it that hard to believe that I have a family?" Clint asked.
"Actually... yes." Tony said.
Lila asks Clint if he brought Natasha and calls her Auntie Nat.
"Auntie Nat?" Steve, Tony, Thor and Bruce asked.
Natasha tells them to hug her and find out.
Natasha smiled softly.
Steve apologizes for barging in on them.
Tony says that they would have called ahead but they were too busy not knowing that they existed.
Everyone laughed at the bluntness of his statement.
"That was the whole point." Clint said.
Clint says that Fury helped him set this up when he joined SHIELD. He says that he kept it out of the files and he'd like to keep it that way. He says that he thought it was a good place to lay low. Thor steps on a lego structure.
Clint just sighed.
Natasha walks up to Laura and tells her that she missed her and asks how little Natasha is.
Natasha almost choked in surprise, Clint was naming his kid after her?
Laura says that she's Nathaniel now.
Natasha bends down and calls the baby a traitor.
Everyone laughed.
Lila looks up at Thor.
"She knows you broke her legos." Clint laughed.
Thor sees images from his vision. The toast pops. Thor walks out of the house, Steve follows. Thor says that he saw something in the dream and he needs answers and he won't find them there.
"And now he's gone." Tony said.
Steve goes to walk back inside. Peggy voice says that they can go home.
Steve looked down sadly.
Laura is feeling the spot where Clint got shot. Clint says that she was worried for nothing.
"What do you mean she was 'worried for nothing'? You got shot." Maria said.
Clint says that she can't feel the difference.
"Knowing her, she probably can." Natasha said.
Larra says that they'll need to double up if they're sleeping there.
Clint says that that won't sell.
Laura asks how long the thing between Natasha and Bruce has been going on.
"She realized it too?" Bruce asked.
Clint is confused. Laura calls him cute.
Clint is still confused. Laura tells him that she'll explain it when he's older.
Everyone started laughing.
Laura asks if it was bad then says that Natasha seems really shaken.
Clint says that Ultron has allies and they're punks. He says that they carry a big stick and Natasha took a bad hit. He says that someone has to teach the twins some manners.
"Someone did." Wanda agreed.
Laura says that that someone would be him. She tells him that she supports his avenging but when she she sees the other guys and gods... They look out the window at Steve and Tony.
"Only one god on the team ma'am." Tony said.
Clint says that she doesn't think they need him.
Laura says that they do.
"You're out good luck charm." Natasha said.
She says that that's scarier and they're a mess.
"That's true."
Clint says that they're his mess.
Laura tells him to be sure that the team really has his back.
"We do have your back, Clint." Steve said.
She says that things are changing for them and they'll be outnumbered soon. She feels where the wound was again and says that she can feel the difference.
Everyone laughed.
'U-Gin genetics research lab Seoul Korea.' appears on the screen. Helen walks into her lab. Ultron tells her that her entire staff will die if she screams. He says that he could have killed her the night they met but he didn't.
Helen asks if he's expecting a thank you.
Everyone giggled at Helen's wit.
Ultron says that he expects her to know why.
Helen realizes it was because of her cradle. Helens voice tells Tony that this is the next best thing.
Ultron says that its the next him.
"Shit."
Helen says that the cradle prints tissue and it can't create a living body.
Ultron says it can and says she lacks the materials. He tells Helen that she's a brilliant woman but everyone has room to improve. He touches the scepter to her chest, her eyes go black, then her pupils turn blue.
Clint looked away, being reminded of when Loki did that to him.
Natasha is sitting on a bed. Flashes of her vision appear on the screen. Bruce is shaving, Flashes of Hulk's rampage appear on the screen.
Natasha and Bruce look away from the screen, awkwardly.
Bruce steps out of the bathroom, Natasha stands up. Bruce says that he didn't realize she was waiting.
Natasha says that she would've joined him but it didn't seem like the right time.
"Probably not." Bruce said.
Bruce says that they used all of the hot water.
Natasha says that she should've joined him.
Brue says that they missed their window.
"Can we move on from talking about the shower?" Clint asked.
Bruce says that the world just saw the real Hulk for the first time. He says that she knows he needs to leave.
Wanda winced, knowing that Bruce had in fact left because of that.
Natasha asks if he's assuming that she has to stay. She tells him that she had a dream.
Bruce asks what she dreamed.
Natasha says that she dreamed that she was an Avenger and that she was more than the assassin that they made her.
"You are more than that, Tasha." Clint said.
Bruce tells her that she's being too hard on herself.
"Listen to Bruce." Maria said.
Natasha says that she was hoping that that was his job.
She leans closer to him. Bruce asks her what she's doing.
Natasha says that she's running with it and tells him that she'll run as far as he wants if running is the plan.
"Natasha."
Bruce asks her if she's out of her mind. He asks where he can go then asks if there's anywhere in the world where he isn't a threat.
Natasha tells him that he isn't a threat to her.
"You're not a threat to any of us, Bruce." Steve said.
Bruce says that there isn't a future with him. He says that he cannot physically have kids.
Natasha says that she can't either. She says that in the red Room there was a graduation ceremony where they would be sterilized.
Natasha looked down, sadly.
She says that its efficient because it's one less thing that they would have to worry about. She says that it makes everything including killing easier/ She asks if he still thinks that he's the only monster on the team.
"You're not a monster, Natasha... neither are you, Bruce." Clint said.
Bruce asks if they should disappear.
"Please don't."
Steve and Tony are chopping wood. Tony asks if Thor didn't say where he was going for answers.
Steve says that his teammates don't tell him things sometimes.
Bucky winced, remembering the secret that Steve kept from Tony that ended up destroying their friendship.
Steve says that he was hoping that Thor would be an exception.
Tony tells Steve to give him time because they don't know what Wanda showed him.
Steve says that they're Earth's Mightiest Heroes and they were pulled apart like cotton candy.
Tony says that it seems like Steve walked away alright.
"Let's not do this." Natasha said.
Steve asks if that's a problem.
Tony says that he doesn't trust someone without a dark side.
Steve says that he hasn't seen it yet.
"Here we go... again." Clint said.
Tony tells Steve that Ultron is trying to tear them apart.
Steve says that he guesses that Tony would know but whether he'd tell them is a different question.
Tony glared at Steve.
"Okay, that was a bit of a low blow." Sam said.
Tony says that he and Bruce were doing research.
Steve says that the research would affect the team.
Tony says that it would end the team. He asks if that's the mission. He asks if the 'why' they fight is so the can end the fight and go home. Steve splits a log with his bear hands.
"Whoa."
Steve says that innocent people die every time someone tries to win a war before it starts.
"Innocent people die either way." Bucky said.
Laura walks up to them and asks Tony to check out their tractor.
Tony says he will. He turns to the wood pile and tells Steve not to take from his pile. He leaves.
Everyone laughed.
"I don't think he would need too." Rhodey said.
Tony walks into the shed and finds the tractor. He tells it to tell him what ails it.
"Are you... talking to a tractor?" Natasha asked.
Fury asks him not to bring it to live.
"And you're there." Tony said.
Tony calls Laura a little minx.
"Stark." Clint warned.
Tony says that Maria must've called him and asks if she ever wasn;t working for him.
"To be fair, probably not." Maria said.
Fury comments about Tony never hesitating with artificial intelligence.
Tony says that it's been a long day and asks if they can skip to the part where Fury is useful.
Fury tells Tony to like him in the eye and tells him that he'll shut Ultron down.
Tony says that Fury isn't the director of him.
"The equivalent of a child saying 'you're not the boss of me'." Hope said.
Fury says he isn't the director of anyone. He says that he's just an old man who cares very much about them.
Tony says that he's the man who killed the Avengers.
"Tony." Rhodey sighed.
Tony says he caw it and he couldn't tell the team. He says he saw all of them dead and felt it. He says that it was his fault and he wasn;t ready. He says that he didn't do all he could.
"You wanted to protect us, prevent that from happening." Natasha said.
Fury tells him that Wanda is playing on his fear.
Tiny says he wasn't trucked but shown and it wasn't a nightmare but his legacy. He says that it was the end of the path he started them on.
Fury tells Tony that he's come up with some impressive inventions but war isn't one of them.
"I agree." Everyone in the room said.
He says that he watched his friends die and you'd think that that was the worst part. He says that it wasn't the worst part.
Fury says that the worst part is that he didn't.
Tony laughed humorlessly. "Yeah, that is the worst part."
Thor is dressed in casual clothes, leaning on the side of a car. Selvig walks down some stairs. 'Royal Holloway: University of London' appears on the screen. Selvig says he likes the look but it's a near miss if he's going for inconspicuous.
Thor tells Selvig that he needs his help.
"With what?"
Selvig says that it's nice to be needed.
Thor tells him that it's dangerous.
Selvig says he'd be disappointed if it wasn't.
A few people laughed.
Everyone is in Clint's kitchen. Fury says that Ultron took them out to play to buy himself time. He says his contacts say that he's building something and with the amount of Vibranium he has it isn't just one thing.
"Well, whatever it is, it wont be good." Steve said.
Steve asks about Ultron himself.
Fuey says that he's easy to track because he's everywhere. He says that he's multiplying faster than a catholic rabbit.
Everyone giggled at the metaphor.
Fury says that that doesn't give them an angle on his plans.
Tony asks if he's still after the launch codes.
Fury says he is but he isn't making any headway.
Tony says that cracked the Pentagon's firewall on a dare when he was in high school.
"You did what?" Howard asked.
"Shit." Tony said.
Fury says that he contacted his friends at the Nexus about that.
Steve is confused. Bruce tells him that it's the world internet hub in Oslo. He says that every byte of data flows through there and it has the fastest access on Earth.
Clint asks what they said.
Fury says that Ultron's focused on the missiles but the codes are being changed constantly.
"That's odd..." T'Challa said.
Tony asks why they're being changed by.
Fury says that the parties are unknown.
Natasha asks if they have an ally.
Fury says that Ultron has an enemy and it isn't the same thing.
"Well, the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Sam said.
Fury says that he'd pay holding money to find out who it is.
Tony says that he might visit Oslo to find their unknown.
Natasha says that she was hping Fury would have more than that.
"I have you six." Fury said.
Fury tells her that he has them. He says that back in the day he had eyes everywhere and ears everywhere else. He says that they have all the tech they could dream up. He says that they're back on Earth with nothing but their wit and will to save the world.
"Wow."
He says that Ultron says that the Avengers are the only thing standing between him and his plan. He says that whether or not he wants to admit it Ultron's plan is global destruction.
"We just need to figure out what his plan to do that is." Steve said.
He says that all of this would be laid in a grave then he tells them to stand.
"Do all of you just have really good speeches?" Scott asked.
He tells them to outwit Ultron and calls him a platinum bastard.
Natasha says that Steve doesn't like that kind of talk.
Everyone laughed.
Fury asks what he wants.
Steve says that he wants to become better than them and says that he keeps building bodies.
Tony says that he's building person bodies and that biologically speaking the human is form is insufficient he says that they're outmoded.
"That's true."
Tony says that Ultron keeps coming back to it.
Natasha says that Tony and Bruce failed amazingly when they programed him to protect the human race.
Bruce says that they don't need to be protected but they need to evolve. He says that Ultron's going to evolve.
"The body he's having Helen create." Steve said.
Fury asks how.
Bruce asks if any of them have been in contact with Helen.
Everyone tensed.
Helen and Ultron are looking at the body. She says that the vibranium atoms are binding with the tissue cells and SHIELD never even thought to-
"For good reasons." Fury said.
Ultron says that Vibranium is the most versatile substance in the world and it was used to make a frisbee. He says that it's typical of humans to scratch the surface of something and not look within. Ultron puts the mind stone in the body.
"Oh no."
Back at the Barton farm, they avengers are getting ready to leave. Steve says that he'll take Natasha and Clint.
Tony says that he'll hit the Nexus and join them as soon as he can.
Steve says that if Ultron really were building a body-
"He is."
Tony says he'll be more powerful than any of them. He says that it would be an andriou designed by a robot.
Steve says he misses the days where the weirdest thing science ever created was him.
"Well, those days are long gone, pal." Tony said.
Fury says that he'll drop Bruce off at the tower and asks Tony if he minds if he borrows Maria.
Tony says she's all his.
Steve asks what Fury's going to do.
Fury says he doesn't know but he hopes its dramatic.
"I wouldn't expect anything less." Steve said.
Clint is talking with Laura. Clint says that he'll finish the sunroom when he gets back.
Laura says he;ll find another part of the house to tear apart.
Clint promises that this is the last project.
"Reminds me of my uncle, except he never finishes his projects, he just leaves them halfway through." Ned said.
Thor and Selvig are in a cave. Selvig says it's the water of sight.
"A Norn cave." Loki said.
Thor says that there's a reflection in every realm. He says he can return to his dream and find out what he missed if the water spirits accept him.
Selvig says the legends about the men who entered that water didn't end well.
"Is that safe?" Steve asked.
"No." Thor said.
'NEXUS internet hub: Oslo, Norway' appears on the screen. Tony asks about a hacker who's faster than Ultron. Then says that they could be anywhere and this is the center of everything. He says that he's a guy who's looking for a needle in the world's largest haystack.
"That wont be easy." Quill said.
A tech asks how he would find it.
Tony says it's simple and says to bring a magnet.
Everyone laughed.
Tony sings that he's decrypting nuclear codes and they don't want him to. He tells the hacker to come get him.
"Smart." Shuri said
Thor is in the water, his vision continues. Heimdall tells him to wake up. Lightening surrounds Thor. The Mind, Power, reality and space stones are shown.
"Whoa."
Helen is back in the lab. She says that cellular cohesion will take a few hours but they can initiate the consciousness stream.
Wanda says that she can read him and says the he's dreaming.
"You're gonna look in his head." Clint said.
Helen says that she wouldn't call it dreams. She says that it's Ultron's base consciousness. She says that soon-
Ultron cuts her off by asking how soon then says that he isn't being pushy.
"You sound pretty pushy." Rocket said.
Helen says that they're imprinting a physical brain and there are no shortcuts. Wanda looks in his head and sees Earth destroyed, she pulls back and screams.
"Oh my god."
She asks how could he.
Ultron asks how he could what.
Wanda says that he said that the would destroy the Avengers and make a better world.
Ultron says that it will be better.
"When nobody's left?" Peggy asked.
Wanda asks if it'll be better when everyone's dead.
Ultron says that the human race will have an opportunity to improve.
"Not of you destroy the world!" Bruce yelled.
Pietro asks what happens if they don't.
Ultron tells him to ask Noah.
Wanda calls him a madman.
"Worse than that." Strange said.
Ultron says that there were more than a dozen extinction level events before the dinosaurs. He says that when the Earth settles god throws a srone at it. He says that they have to evolve and there's no room for the weak.
"And somehow you decide that?" Steve asked.
Pietro asks who decides who is weak. Wanda breaks the scepter's control on Helen.
"Good."
Ultron says that life always decides. He notices that the quinjet is coming and they have to move.
Helen stops the upload of Ultron's consciousness and says that that's not a problem. Ultron blasts her.
Everyone gasped.
Pietro and Wanda run off.
"And now you've changed sides." Clint said.
Ultron tells them to wait. He says that they'll understand and he says he needs more time.
