'1989' appears on the screen. A building is under construction.
"Is that the Triskelion?" Steve asked.
Hank Pym walks into a room. Peggy, Howard and Carson are in the room.
"This is where we were... pulled from." Peggy said, referring to herself and Howard.
Hank yells Howard's name.
Howard says that Hank doesn't seem happy.
"Yeah, no shit!."
Howard says tells Hank that he's supposed to me in moscow.
Hank places a vial on the table and says he took a detour through their defence lab.
Peggy says to tell her that it isn't what she thinks it is.
"It was." Peggy said.
Hank says that it depends on if she thinks that it's a poor replication of his word. He says that it takes nerve even for their group.
"And here I thought your days of pissing off other scientists were over." Tony said to Howard.
Carson tells Pym that he was instructed to go to Russia and reminds him that he's a soldier.
Hank glared at Carson.
Hank says he's a scientist.
Howard tells him to act like one. He says that the Pym Particle is the most revolutionary ever developed and tells Hank to help them put it to good use.
Hank says that he let them turn him into their errand boy and now they want to steal his research.
Carson says that Hank should've protected Janet with this ferocity.
Hank punches him.
Everyone cheered. What? He deserved it.
He goes to do it again, Peggy restrains him.
Hank says that he'll show him ferocity if he mentions Janet again.
"As you should."
Carson looks up at Howard. Howard tells Carson not to look at him because he's the one who said it.
A few people chuckled.
Hank says he formally tenders his resignation.
Howard says that they don't accept it formally. He says that they need Hank because the Pym Particle is a miracle. He tells Hank not to let his past determine his future.
Hank says that no one will get their hands on that formula as long as he's alive then he leaves.
"Respect."
"Too bad that didn't really work out." Scott muttered, remembering Cross.
Carson says that they shouldn't've let him in the building.
Peggy says that they've already lied to him and asks if they want to go to war with him.
Carson says he does and tells her that their scientists haven't come close to replicating his work.
"Good." Hank said.
Howard says that Hank just kicked Carson's ass full size and asks if he really wants to find out what he'll do when he can't see Hank coming.
"I know I wouldn't want to." Sam said.
Howard says that he's known Hank for a long time and says he isn't a security risk unless they make him one.
"That sounds about right." Hank said.
'Present day' appears on the screen. Scott gets punched in the face.
"Whoa!" Everyone exclaimed.
Peachy asks if he likes that and tells him to come get some. Scott goes to tackle him, Peachy shoves him away.
"Why are you fighting?" Hank asked.
"Prison rituals." Scott answered.
Scott punches him in the stomach, Peachy doesn't flinch. Scott says that he didn't even move then asks what if he comes from the left side. Scott punches him in the face.
"So you can punch." Hope said.
Peachy tells Scott that he'll miss him.
Scott tells Peachy that he'll miss him too.
"His name is Peachy?" Rhodey asked.
Scott tells them that they have weird goodbye rituals.
"Yep."
Scott leaves the prison and sees Luis, they greet each other. Luis asks Scott what's up with his eye.
Scott says he got it from Peachy as a going away present.
"How is that a present?" Clint asked.
Luis says that he still has his scar from a year ago.
"Him too?" Natasha asked.
Luis says that he was the only guy to ever knock Peachy out.
"That's impressive. Peachy is a big guy." Bucky said.
Scott says that he definitely didn't.
Everyone chuckled at that.
Luis is driving. Scott thanks him for picking him up.
Luis asks Scott of he thought he was going to miss him getting out and calls Scott his celly.
"You two were cellmates?" Quill asked.
Scott asks him how his girl is.
Luis says she left him. He says that his mom died and his dad got deported.
"Oh damn."
"Poor guy."
Luis says that he got the van.
Scott tells him that the van is nice.
"Well, always look on the bright side." Pepper said.
"He always does." Scott said. "One of the reasons I like him."
Scott thanks him for the hook-up and says that he needed a place to stay.
Luis tells him that he'll be happy once he sees the couch and says that he'll be on his feet in no time.
Scott says he hopes so.
Luis says that he wants to introduce Scott to some skilled people.
Scott says he isn't interested.
"Good."
Luis doesn't believe him. Scott says he's serious and tells him that he's not going back because he has a daughter to take care of.
"Family first." Scott said.
The people with kids(Clint and May.) Made noises of agreement.
Luis tells him that jobs don't come easy for ex-cons.
"Don't remind me." Scott sighed.
Scott tells him that he has a masters in electrical engineering and says he'll be fine.
"Spoiler alert. I wasn't." Scott said.
Scott is working at Baskin Robbins. He welcomes a customer to Baskin Robbins and asks if he's like to try the Mango Fruit Blast.
The customer says that he'll have a burger.
"Is... is he for real?" Sam asked.
Scott says that they don't make that.
The customer asks for a hot pretzel and mustard dip.
Scott tells the customer that he's at Baskin Robbins and they have ice cream.
The customer says that he'll just have whatever is hot and fresh.
Everyone looked confused.
"Dude."
Everyone started laughing.
Dale asks Scott of he can see him in the back.
Scott says yes and asks Debby if he can take care of the customer and calls the customer an idiot.
"It was rude to call him an idiot. I totally get it, but it was rude." Hope said.
Scott walks into Dale's office. Dale tells him to pull up a chair. Scott takes a seat. Dale tells Scott that he did 3 years in San Quentin.
"They found out."
"Baskin Robbins always finds out." Scott said.
Scott realizes that they found out.
Dale tells him that Baskin Robbins always finds out.
Scott apologizes and says that nobody would hire him.
Dale says that his crimes were breaking and entering and grand larceny.
"You robbed someone?" Steve asked.
"Not robbed, burgled, robbery implies violence." Scott said.
Scott apologizes and says that he doesn't do it anymore.
Dale tells him that he couldn't be happier about it.
"Wait what?" Everyone asked. That wasn't the reaction anyone was expecting.
Scott thanks him.
Dale says that he really stuck it to the billionaire SOB's
"We do seem to be hated a lot." Tony said.
"You hate them all too." Rhodey replied.
"That's true." Tony said.
Dle says that the more he reads about the more surprised he is that he knows Scott and he's his boss.
Scott says that he likes the job and he appreciated the opportunities.
Dale says that he's still fired because he can't keep him on.
"Damn."
Scott tells him that it wasn't a violent crime and says that he's a good worker.
Dale agrees that it wasn't violent crime and says that it was a cool crime.
"What did you even do?" Rocket asked.
"I'm sure you'll find out later." Scott said.
Dale tells him that he'll pretend he won't see it if Scott takes a Mango Fruit Blast on his way out.
"Guess they had to keep their image." Clint said.
Scott is walking down the street with a smoothie away. He tosses out the empty cup.
"You took one?" Hope asked.
"Of course I did. I'm not gonna just turn down free stuff." Scott answered.
He unlocks the gate to a hotel and walks up to Luis' place. Luis is making pancakes he tells Scott that he thought he was supposed to be at work.
Scott says he got fired.
Luis asks him if they found out who he was.
Scott says they did.
Luis tells him that Baskin Robbins always finds out.
Dave says that Baskin Robbins doesn't play.
"Remember that."
Luis asks him if he wants a waffle.
Scott says that he'll have a waffle.
"Luis makes amazing waffles." Scott said.
Luis introduces Scott to Kurt and says that he was in Folsom for 5 years and he's a wizard on a laptop.
"Meet your competition." Rhodey told Tony jokingly.
Kurt tells Scott that it's nice to meet him.
Scott tells him that it's nice to meet him too then turns to Dave and asks him who he is.
Dave introduces himself and tells Scott that he did good work on the Vista job.
Kurt says that he's heard of that robbery.
"Not a robbery." Scott corrected.
Scott says he didn't rob them because that involves threat. He says he burgled them and calls himself a cat burglar.
Dave asks if he meant that he's a pussy.
Scott agrees.
Everyone laughed.
Luis says that they were overcharging and it added up to millions. He says that Scott blew the whistle and he got fired.
"You worked for them?" Peggy asked.
Luis says that Scott hacked into the security system and transferred the money back to the people that they stole it from.
"Take from the rich and give to the poor, just like Robin-hood." Quill said.
Dave says that he posted the records online.
Luis says that he drove the dude's Bentley into the swimming pool.
Everyone laughed again.
"You did that?" Bucky asked.
"Yep." Scott said.
Scott asks Luis why he's telling his life story to them then he asks what he wants.
Luis says that his cousin talked to a guy a few weeks ago about a perfect job.
Hope and Hank glanced at each other.
Scott tells him no.
Luis tells him that the guy fits his MO.
Scott tells him no and says he's not going back to jail.
Luis says that the guy is a retired millionaire living off of his golden parachute. He tells Scott that it's his perfect mark.
Scott says he doesn't care and tells Luis no.
"That wont work out the way you want it to." Hope said.
Hank drives up to Pym Technologies.
"That's a nice car." Clint said.
The security guard looks surprised to see him. Hank says that he is alive.
Everyone laughed at that.
Hank walks into the building and puts his belongings onto a tray.A guard asks him for his ID.
Hank points to the portrait of him on the wall and says that that should suffice.
"Yeah, that should do it." Maria said.
The guard apologizes and tells Hank to come in.
Hope walks up to him and greets him.
Hank asks if it'll kill her to call him dad.
"Oh?"
Hope says that Cross will be pleased that he could join them.
Cross walks up to them and says that he's thrilled.
Hank, Scott and Hope all glared at Cross.
Hank says that he was surprised to see the invitation and asks Cross what the occasion is.
Cross tells him that he'll see.
Hope says that they're ready for them inside.
Cross says that some old wounds never heal and tells Hank that Hope is in good hands.
"No. I'm not." Hope said.
Carson walks up to them and asks Hank how his retirement is going.
They shake hands. Hank asks him how his face is.
"Ooh! Burn!" The teenagers said.
They walks into the lab. Cross says that before they start he'd like to introduce Hank and says that Hank is his mentor and the company's founder. Hank notices a model that says 'Cross technologies.'
"He wants to rub it in." Tony said.
Cross says that when he took over the company he started researching a particle that could change the distance of atoms while increasing the density and strength.
Hank, Hope and Scott glared again.
He says he couldn't tell them why the idea was buried beneath the dust and cobwebs of Hank's research.
"I had my reasons." Hank said.
Cross tells them to imagine a soldier the size of an ant and says that it's the ultimate secret weapon.
"Insect man." Peter whispered.
He shows footage of Ant-man. He says that its an 'Ant-Man' and asks Hank if that's what they called him. He says that was silly propaganda and it was to scare the USSR.
"I can see how that would scare people. A soldier that you can't even see coming." Natasha said.
Cross asks Hank if he'll tell the guests what he told him whenever he asked him if the Ant-Man was real.
Hank says that it was just a tall tale.
Cross asks how the miracle could possibly be real.
"I don't like where this is headed." Pepper said.
They walk into another lab. Cross says that he was inspired by the legend of Ant-Man and thought that, with his breakthrough in shrinking inorganic material, if it was possible to shrink a person. He says that it isn't a legend anymore.
"He sounds kind of... off to me." Steve said.
Cross says that he is proud to present the Yellowjacket to them and says that it is the end of modern warfare as they know it. He shows everyone the shrunken Yellowjacket suit.
Everyone's eyes widened.
"Oh no."
He says that they yellowjacket is an all-purpose weapon that's capable of altering the size of the wearer for the ultimate advantage in combat.
He turns on a video. The narrator says that they live in a world where the weapons they use to protect themselves are undermined by surveillance.
"For good reasons." Fury said.
The narrator says that it's time to return to a simpler age where the powers of freedom can operate openly. He says that the yellowjacket can mange any conflict on the geopolitical landscape and it will be completely unseen.
"A scary thought."
The narrator says that the yellowjacket is efficient in preventive measures and tactical assault and its other applications include surveillance, sabotage and elimination of obstructions on the world to peace.
"You say peace, I kind of think you mean the other thing." Bruce said.
The narrator says that a single yellowjacket offers its user an unlimited influence to carry out protective measures and soon an army of yellowjackets will create a sustainable environment of well-being around the world.
Frank says it's a suit.
"That's... one way to put it." Scott said.
Cross tells Frank not to be crude and says that it's not a suit it's a vessel. He asks Frank if he isn't impressed.
Frank says he is impressed and he's concerned. He tells Cross to imagine what their enemies could do with that tech.
"Thinking on the logical side." Maria said.
Cross tells Frank that they should talk later and says that he values his opinion.
"I-I don't think he does." Gamora said.
Cross thanks them for coming and gestures for Hope to speak.
Hope thanks them for coming and says that she'll escort them out now.
Everyone leaves. Cross walks up to Hank and says that he seems shocked.
Hank tells him that there's a reason the secrets were buried.
"So people like you wouldn't get their hands on them." Hank said.
Cross says that they could've done it together and tells Hank that he ruined that. He says that Hank is the past and he's the future.
"A terrifying and terrible future that would be." Hope said.
Hank tells him not to do it.
Cross walks over to Carson. Carson says that he can have cash in 2 weeks if Cross sells it to him first for 20% of the actual price.
Cross says they have a deal.
"Why does he want it so quickly?" Mantis asked.
Hope walks over to Hank and tells him that they need to make their move.
Hank asks her how close Cross is.
Hope says that he still can't shrink a living thing.
Hope cringed, remembering all of the lambs.
Hope tells Hank to give her the suit and says that she'll finish it once and for all.
Hank tells her no.
Hope says that she has Cross' complete trust.
Hank says that it's too dangerous.
Hope tells him that they don't have a choice.
Hank says that that isn't entirely true because he found a guy.
Hope asks who.
"Me." Scott said.
Scott walks into Paxton's house, a birthday party is going on. Cassie runs up to Scott.
"That's your daughter?" May asked.
Scott nodded.
"She's adorable." May said.
They hug. Scott wishes her a happy birthday and apologizes for being late because he didn't know when the party started.
Cassie tells him that it was on the invitation.
Paxton walks up to them and says that Scott didn't get an invitation but he came anyway.
"Who's that?" Sam asked.
"My ex-wife Maggie's new fiancé." Scott answered.
Scott tells him that he's not going to miss Cassie's birthday.
Cassie tells him that she'll tells Maggie he's there. Cassie says and runs off.
Paxton asks Scott wh he's there. He says that he hasn't paid his child support and says that he could arrest him if he wanted to.
"Oh. He's a cop." Happy said.
Scott tells Paxton that it's good to see him too.
Cassie comes back and says that Maggie's so happy he's there that she choked on her drink.
"I don't think that means happy." Clint said.
Scott hands her a present. Cassie asks if she can open it.
Paxton says she can because it's her birthday.Cassie pulls a rabbit out of the bag.
"That thing looks terrifying." Hope said.
The rabbit says 'you're my bestest friend.'
"Oh, it talks." Clint said.
Paxton asks what that thing is.
"A talking rabbit, duh." Peter said.
Cassie says that the rabbit is so ugly and says that she loves him.
"My parents when I was born." Ned joked.
Cassie asks if she can show it to her friends. Cassie runs off again.
"She's so exited."
Scott says that the child support is coming. He says that it's hard to find a job when he has a record.
Paxton says he's sure Scott will figure something out and tells him that he wants him out of the house.
Scott says that it's his daughter's birthday.
Paxton says that it's his house.
Scott says that it's his kid.
"Both are valid arguments." Natasha said.
Maggie walks up to them and tells Scott that he can't just show up there.
Scott says that it's Cassie's birthday party.
Maggie says she knows and tells Scott that he can't just show up.
Scott says that Cassie is his daughter.
Paxton tells him that he doesn't know the first thing about being a father.
"This guy is kind of an asshole." Bruce said.
Scott tells Maggie that her fiancé is an ass hat.
Maggie says Paxton isn't an ass-hat.
"He kind of is."
Paxton tells Scott to watch his language.
"Hey Steve, looks like you've found a kindred spirit." Tony joked.
"Not this again." Steve sighed.
Scott asks what language and says he said hat.
"That's probably not doing you any favors." Clint said.
Maggie and Scott walk outside. Scott says that she could marry anyone she wanted and she got engaged to a cop.
Maggie says that at least he isn't a crook.
"That's a low blow." Hope said.
Scott tells her he's trying and tells her that he's changed and that he's straight.
"I really need to stop taking things out of context." Shuri said.
Scott says that he had a job and he wants to provide. He says he's had time to think about and says he loves Cassie and he's missed so much of her life already and asks Maggie what he's supposed to do.
"Adult things."
Maggie tells him to get an apartment and a job and pay child support then promises that they'll talk about visitation. She tells Scott that he's her hero and tells him to be the person that she already thinks he is.
"You are that person, Scott." Hope said.
Scott gets into the van. Cassie and Paxton watch. Scott drives by and honks the horn, which plays a musical tune.
"I change my mind, that's a dope ass van." Sam said.
"I can see why Luis likes it so much." Quill said.
Frank is in the bathroom, he goes to wash his hands. Cross is there, which startles him.
"My boy just appeared out of nowhere." Peter said.
Cross says that he's sorry that Frank has such deep concerns about the yellowjacket.
Frank says that they unfortunately can't do whatever they want.
"That's right."
Frank says that it would be nice if they could but there are laws.
Cross asks if he means the laws of man and then says that the laws of nature transcend the laws of man and he transcends the laws of nature.
"No like... actual laws." MJ said. "Ones that prevent people like you from doing what you're doing."
Frank tells Cross that he doesn't think he understands-Cross uses a device on Frank, turning him into goo.
Everyone gasped.
Cross says that they haven't worked out all of the bugs. He uses a tissue to wipe frank off the floor, then flushes him down the toilet.
"Ugh, this guy is just sick." Maria said.
Hope and Cross are having diner. Cross says that he's been thinking about gratitude. He says that a thought came to him in his morning meditation that he thinks applies to hope too.
Everyone watched in confusion and unease.
Cross says that gratitude can be forgiveness. He says that he spent years carrying his anger for Hank. He says that he devoted his genius to him and says he could've worked anywhere. He says that he chose his mentor poorly. He says that Hope didn't have a choice and Hank never believed in her.
"That's not true." Hank said.
Cross says that it's a shame what they had to do but Hank forced them to do it. He says that they shouldn't be angry but they should be grateful because Hank's failures as a mentor and father forced them to spread their wings.
Hope tells Cross that he's a success and says he deserves everything that's coming his way.
"He did." Hope said.
