Cynthia soon yawned as she woke up from her bed in the Pokemon Center and headed to the bathroom in her room.
It had been fairly late when the six of them had made it to Eterna City, when they entered the city Leonia soon dropped them off at the Pokemon Center before heading back to them gym with Gardenia.
After having showered and brushed her teeth, Cynthia made her way to the main room of the Pokemon Center where Dahlia, Aaron and Cheryl were talking. Soon they saw Cynthia and greeted her warmly.
"Hello Cynthia, you sleep well?" Cheryl asked with her usual smile on her face.
"Why yes Cheryl, I slept like a log. Now I just need to get my Pokemon so that we can challenge the Eterna Gym and win my second badge!" Cynthia said with her determination being shown clearly.
Soon however Dahlia and Aaron looked at each other, as if they had some bad news for Cynthia as Cheryl looked at her and told her the news.
"Um about that Cynthia, the gym is closed for the day."
The news hit Cynthia like a bomb as she didn't comprehend why.
"Um from what!? Why?" Cynthia asked in surprise.
Cheryl sighed as she told her that Leonia needed to deal with Gardenia sneaking out again and that might take all day.
"Fair enough, but I guess we need to find something to do today." Cynthia said to herself.
Dahlia soon pulled out her map and said there was plenty to do in Eterna City together for the four of them. However before she could Cheryl said she would be at the gym, making sure the Gardenia didn't do anything more reckless as too not to add on to her punishment.
"Um… ok then I guess it is just us thre-." Dahlia was going to say until Aaron interrupted her.
"I just remembered that I heard some rumors about Bug-type Pokemon appearing outside Eterna City and I want to check them out." Aaron said.
Dahlia was about to protest when Aaron gave her a knowing smile making her blush realizing that she would be all alone with Cynthia in Eterna City.
Soon she and Cynthia were left alone in the Pokemon Center. She soon turned to Cynthia still blushing.
"Shall we?" Dahlia asked.
"Yes, let's go." Cynthia said as they headed out of the Pokemon Center and into Eterna City.
Soon Cynthia and Dahlia were walking the streets of Eterna City, as the two of them were eating ice cream. Cynthia had gotten a vanilla flavored one while Dahlia got a birthday cake flavored one.
"Man, I can't believe that is just the two of us here in Eterna City. It almost feels like… a date!" Dahlia thought as she furiously tried to bury down her blush.
Soon however, that though of her's was pushed to the side when she saw a Eevee frolicking across the field and came onto the streets.
Cynthia saw this and soon finished her ice cream quickly before sending out her Shellos so that so could catch this Eevee.
The wild Eevee soon look confused before seeing Shellos and soon got into a fighting position.
"Shellos use Water Gun!" Cynthia commanded.
Shellos soon let out a stream of water that was fired towards Eevee, soon however the Eevee soon dodged and tried using Quick Attack to damaged Shellos.
"Shellos use Harden!"
Shellos soon hardened herself and basically rendered Eevee's attack useless as the Evolution Pokemon soon crashed into the sea slug and recoiled in pain.
"Now use Mud Bomb!"
Shellos sent two mud bombs toward which hit the wild Pokemon for effective damage. Cynthia soon threw a Pokeball at the Evolution Pokemon which went inside the Pokeball.
The Pokeball soon wobbled a bit as Cynthia this time she would get lucky and that she would finally catch Eevee unlike what had happened in Jublife City.
Unfortunately for her, it seems like it wasn't meant to be as the Eevee soon broke out and soon hit the ball with her tail as it hit Cynthia in the face and made her fall over.
Shellos and Dahlia soon rushed over to her and checked on her, worried that she might have some brain damaged by how hard the ball smashed into her crainium. Soon they were relieved by Cynthia getting up but by the time she did, Eevee was long gone.
"I guess you are 0 for 2 now when it comes to catching Eevee." Dahlia said to her in a teasing tone.
Cynthia soon gave her an irritated look though soon softened knowing Dahlia was just teasing her. Still it was a failure that hurt her deeply as Dahlia soon knew what she had to do as she grabbed Cynthia's hand and dragged her off to a place she knew she would love.
Soon Dahlia brought Cynthia and Shellos to the statues in the middle of Eterna City.
Cynthia looked up and recognized the statues. They were figures of Diagla and Palkia, the two legendary Pokemon said to be responsible for the creation of Sinnoh. Diagla was said to have the power to control time while Palkia was said to have the power to control space.
Time and Space, the two constants of the universe working together in tandem.
"Beautiful isn't it." An unknown voice said behind them.
Soon Cynthia and Dahlia soon turned around and saw a boy with blue hair around their age walking up to the statues and seemingly admiring them just like them. Next to him, his partner Pokemon: a Sneasel was next to him as he looked ready to attack anyone that threatened his trainer.
"It is said, that these two Pokemon were responsible for the creation of Sinnoh itself. In a way we owe our existence to them, isn't that just fascinating?" The boy said.
Despite the fascination laced in his voice, Cynthia could also here a hint of resentment or frustration. As if the boy seemingly resented the two Pokemon in some way.
"I guess you can look at it that way, but I prefer to think of it as they just created our world. And it is up to us to make our own path in life." Cynthia said to him.
The boy soon looked up at the sky, as if he was considering Cynthia's word and how to respond to them.
"Maybe, but who is too say that the path we set out on is truly the right one? The path we set out on maybe provide us with strife rather than the happiness we assume."
Cynthia soon gulped unsure how to respond to the boy, there was something about his words that drew her in.
But she still couldn't agree with them.
The boy soon sighed as he recalled Sneasel and turned to them.
"Well never that, I am sorry if I ruined your moment. I will be heading out now." The boy said.
However, as the boy went to leave. Cynthia soon found herself asking him something.
"Wait! What is your name?" Cynthia asked.
The boy soon turned around and smirked at them.
"Cyrus." He said to them.
He soon left, leaving Cynthia and Dahlia in confusion of who he truly was.
