Chunks of a moon fall onto Titan, Peter swings away with Mantis, then grabs Drax and Quill and apologizes for not remembering their names.
"So, the one with the antenna is Mantis the shirtless guy is Drax and I'm Peter Quill, some people call me Star-Lord." Quill told Peter.
"Uh... thank you." Peter said.
Strange floats down across from Thanos and shoots magical lightning at him. Thanos blasts Strange with the Power Stone.
Everyone winced, worried for Strange, especially after seeing what the Power Stone is capable of doing.
Strange blocks it with a portal to the Mirror dimension and pushes it at Thanos who shatters it with the Power Stone.
"How the hell-?" Scott asked, but didn't finish his question.
Thanos uses the Space Stone to make a black hole and pushes it at Strange.
"Did he just...make a black hole?" Bruce asked, shocked.
"I think he did." Tony said, equally as surprised as Bruce was.
Strange blocks it, shatters it and turns it into small butterflies.
"Nice." Sam said.
Strange forms a lot of arms, then separates into multiple different Stranges.
"That's awesome." Ned said.
The Stranges form magic ropes and wrap them around Thanos.
"Come on, Strange." Thor quietly urged.
Thanos uses the Power Stone to blast all of them away then brings the real Strange closer to him, chokes him and says he's full of tricks but never used his greatest weapon then rips the Eye of Agamotto from Strange's neck.
"No." Peter gasped.
"He has 5 out of 6 stones now." Natasha noted, uneasily.
Thanos crushes the Eye of Agamotto and realizes it's a fake.
Everyone looked at the screen in shock, save for Strange who glanced away. "If that's fake then where's the real one?" Sam asked.
"Hidden." Strange said. "Sort of."
Thanos throws Strange to the ground which knocks him out.
"Strange?" Tony asked, worried.
Thanos goes to use the stones on Strange but Tony throws something at the gauntlet which keeps it open. Tony drops down and says if Thanos throws another moon at him he'll lose it.
"Understandable." Rhodey said. "I'm glad you're okay."
"How the hell did you survive being crushed by a moon?" Rocket asked.
"I don't know." Tony said.
Thanos recognizes him as 'Stark.'
Tony asks if Thanos knows him.
Thanos confirms that he does.
"What? He- he knows me?" Tony asked, sounding scared. The Avengers, Pepper, Happy and Rhodey all glanced at Tony.
Thanos says Tony isn't the only one cursed with knowledge.
"The only knowledge I'm cursed with is knowledge of you." Tony said.
Tony says his only curse is Thanos then shoots some small explosives at him then makes his repulsors bigger, kicks him in the face and hits him in the face. Thanos rips Tony's helmet off.
Pepper gripped Tony's arm.
Tony makes another one and Thanos punches him in the face then rips the device off the gauntlet.
"And now he can use the stones again." Hope sighed.
"Oh no." Tony said.
Thanos blasts Tony with the Power Stone, Tony makes a shield to stop it then flies toward Thanos and traps his hand under his foot and punches him in the face which cuts his cheek.
"You made him bleed." Gamora said, shocked.
Thanos says Tony did all that for a drop of blood.
Tony was reminded of what Ivan Vanko told him in his prison cell in Monaco.
"If you can make God bleed then people will cease to believe in him."
Thanos frees his hand and punches Tony in the face repeatedly then picks him up and blasts him away with the Power Stone.
Tony stared at the screen with a blank face, but his eyes held a determined glint in them.
Tony's armor doesn't have enough nano-particles to piece itself together.
"That's not good." Bruce commented.
The nano-particles move to Tony's hands so he can shoot repulsor beams at Thanos who blocks them. Thanos tries to hit Tony again but Tony blocks his punches, makes a knife and tries to stab him. Thanos breaks off the blade and stabs Tony with it.
"Tony!" Rhodey, Pepper and Happy yelled when everyone else shouted "Stark!" At the same time except Peter who shouted "Mr. Stark!"
Pepper pulled Tony close to her and buried her face into his hair, tears streaming down her face. Tony wrapped an arm around her shoulders, too shocked to say anything about what was happening to his on-screen self.
Thanos tells Tony that he has his respect and says that when he's done half of humanity will still be alive and says he hopes they remember Tony.
"Screw you, you big purple bastard." Rhodey said, tears in his eyes as he watched what was happening.
Thanos raises the gauntlet, 4 stones glowing. Strange tells him to stop and says to spare Tony's life and he'll give him the stone.
"No! What are you doing? My life is not worth that stone." Tony said to Strange.
"Tony..." Steve sighed.
"Half the universe is at stake, Thanos cannot get his hands on the stone." Tony said. 'At this point I don't care if I have to die for it.' He thought to himself.
Thanos asks if there's no tricks. Strange shakes his head and the Time Stone appears between his fingers, he lets it go and it floats to Thanos' hand.
Peter was reminded of what Strange told them on that alien ship earlier in the film.
"If it comes to saving you, the kid or the Time Stone, I won't hesitate to let either of you die." It seemed that that statement didn't hold true anymore.
Thanos puts it into the gauntlet and says there's one to go.
"The Mind Stone." Vision said, fretfully.
"He will decimate Wakanda to get to it." Shuri whispered.
Quill flies in and starts shooting at Thanos who uses the Space Stone to leave. Quill asks where Thanos went. Tony uses something in his suit to patch his wound. Quill asks if they just lost.
"I think we did." Tony said, the words left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Tony asks Strange why he did that.
Strange says they're in the endgame now.
"I'm sorry, but it was the only way." Strange said. Tony glared at him, not knowing what to say to that.
In Wakanda, M'Baku beats an outrider and those around him start chanting.
Thor flies to one of the ships and lights it up and the ship explodes.
"Nice." Valkyrie said.
Wanda lands next to Vision and asks if he's okay.
The Mind Stone trills. Vision says Thanos is there.
"We are running out of time." T'Challa said.
"You need to destroy the stone." Vision said to Wanda.
"But you'll die." Wanda said, sadness creeping into her voice. "We can think of something else, right?"
Steve tells everyone that there's incoming. Brue looks over and sees Thanos appear and confirms that it's him.
Everyone tensed in their chairs, waiting for the battle to commence. A few people also looked over at Vision anxiously.
Steve tells everyone to stay sharp. Bruce leaps toward Thanos who shoves him away with the Space Stone and traps him in a mountain.
Bruce's eyes widened.
Thanos sends Steve flying with the Power Stone.
"He's not even trying anymore." Steve sighed. "He's only using the stones, he doesn't even need to physically fight us."
T'Challa leaps at Thanos who chokes him and slams him into the ground, the kinetic energy leaves the suit.
T'Challa winced.
Sam flies toward Thanos, shooting and Thanos knocks him out of the air with the Space Stone.
"How are we supposed to beat him if we cant even land a single hit?" Sam asked, frustrated.
Vision tells Wanda that it's time.
Wanda says no.
"Wanda please." Vision said.
"You're asking me to kill you, Vision." Wanda said, teary eyed. "I don't know if I can do that."
Shuri felt a pang of guilt and sadness that her future self couldn't remove the stone faster. T'Challa looked over at her, as if he sensed her self-deprecation. "It is not your fault. You know that you did the best you could."
Vision says the others can't stop him but they can and says she has the power to destroy the stone and tells her that she must do it and says they're out of time.
Everyone breathed in shakily. Vision was right, they were rapidly running out of time.
Wanda says she can't.
Vision says she can and says that half the universe will die if he gets the stone and agrees that it isn't fair and it shouldn't be her but it is. He says she could never hurt him.
Vision and Wanda glanced at each other sadly. Even of they weren't so close to one another now, they could tell that their future selves cared deeply for one another and it made the scene very difficult to watch.
Wanda starts crying. Vision says he just feel her. Wanda shoots a burst of magic at the Mind Stone.
Everyone felt tears spring to their eyes as they watched.
Rhodey shoots at Thanos who uses the Space Stone to send him away.
Tony grabbed Rhodey's hand.
Bucky runs toward Thanos who sends him away with the Power Stone.
Steve glanced at Bucky as if to make sure he was okay.
Okoye throws her spear, Thanos deflects it with the Space Stone and throws her into a tree using the Power Stone.
"Okoye!" T'Challa and Shuri yelled, worried, Shuri wrapped her arms around Okoye, who accepted the hug and watched what was happening on screen with a blank face and dark eyes.
Thanos traps Natasha under a pile of dirt and rocks.
"Nat!" Clint gasped, and hugged his best friend. Natasha sighed and accepted the hug.
Groot extends his limbs to wrap around Thanos, who breaks them off.
"I am Groot." (Asshole.)
Steve starts hitting Thanos with his shields, Thanos goes to hut Steve with the gauntlet but Steve grabs it and holds him off. After a moment, Thanos punches Steve in the face and knocks him down.
"Steve!" Bucky, Peggy and Sam shouted.
Thanos walks toward Vision and Wanda. Wanda keeps Thanos away with a beam of magic. Thanos pushes forward. Vision tells Wanda that it's alright and says he loves her. The stone is destroyed with a large blast.
Wanda started crying. "I'm sorry." She said to Vision.
"It's okay. You did what needed to be done, I asked you to do it." Vision assured.
Wanda is on the ground crying.
Everyone in the room felt a pang of sympathy for Wanda. They didn't know what they would do in her situation. Quill looked at her with understanding in his eyes, he was the one who probably best understood what she was feeling right now.
Thanos says he understands better than anyone.
"No, you don't." Wanda said, voice void of emotion.
Wanda says he could never.
Thanos says he lost more than she could know and says now isn't the time to mourn.
Gamora and Nebula glared at the man they once called a father.
"He is one sick, twisted miscreant." Carol said.
Thanos uses the Time Stone to reverse the destruction of the Mind Stone.
"No!" Vision shouted. Everyone else was too shocked and horrified to even speak.
Wanda gets up to stop him, Thanos throws her away.
Wanda flinched.
lifts Vision by the throat and takes the stone out of his head. Vision dies and his body loses color.
"Oh god." Wanda gasped, voice cracking due to her tears. Vision wrapped his arms over her shoulders to comfort her.
Thanos puts the Mind Stone into the gauntlet and screams with the stones' energy.
"And now he has all 6." Gamora said blankly.
"Does this... does this mean we lost?" Peter asked.
"He hasn't snapped his fingers yet. Maybe there's a chance that we can still beat him." Steve said, refusing to be anything less than optimistic. He didn't want to give up hope just yet.
Thor blasts Thanos back with his lightning. Thanos tries to shoot him with the stones, Thor throws Stormbreaker at him and it stabs him in the chest.
"Yes!" A few people cheered for Thor, maybe they could still win, others refused to get their hopes up because they didn't want to be crushed if Thor couldn't successfully stop Thanos.
Thor drops down in front of Thanos and says he told him that he'd die for that and pushes Stormbreaker further into Thanos' chest.
Everyone watched, waiting to see if Thanos would die.
Thanos says Thor should've gone for the head.
"What?" Thor asked, worried.
Thor looks at the gauntlet and Thanos snaps his fingers. The screen goes white.
Everyone stared blankly way too shocked to say anything. What were they even supposed to say? What were they supposed to do? They didn't even feel anger at Thanos, mostly they were just resigned and melancholic. They lost. Each of them pulled their friends and other loved ones close for comfort.
"What just happened?" Steve asked.
"I think... I think we lost." Natasha answered, sadly.
"Oh God." Everyone choked out through their tears.
Thor blinked away his tears, feeling frustrated with himself. He failed. He failed his people and he failed his friends. He should've gone for the head, why didn't he go for the head it would've killed him much quicker. "I'm sorry." Thor said in a choked whisper. "I'm sorry." He repeated.
"Thor, listen to me please. This was not your fault, please don't blame yourself." Loki said and moved to go comfort his older brother.
Thanos appears somewhere he looks at his arm and sees that the gauntlet isn't there.
"Where is he?" Quill wondered. "Is he- is he dead?"
Thanos looks at a pavilion, young Gamora stands under it, he walks to her and greets her.
"He must be dead right?" Scott asked. "Because he's seeing Gamora and Gamora's dead."
"None of what he's seeing is actually happening. It's an illusion of the Soul Stone." Strange said, remembering what Red Skull said about the stone.
Young Gamora turns around and asks if he did it.
Thanos says he did.
Young Gamora asks what it cost.
Thanos says it cost everything.
"So then what was the purpose?" Gamora asked, angrily. "You sacrificed me and for what? So you could 'help' the universe?"
Back in the real world, The gauntlet and Thanos' arm are fried. Thor asks Thanos what he just did. Thanos uses the Space Stone to leave.
"Where did he go this time?" Rocket asked.
"I think I know." Nebula said, but didn't go into further detail.
Steve walks up to Thor and asks where Thanos went. Steve hears Bucky call his name, he turns to look at him and Bucky drops his gun and turns to dust.
"Bucky." Steve gasped and hugged him, tears falling from his eyes. "No no no no no. I can't lose you again."
Bucky had tears falling from his eyes as well. "It's gonna be okay Steve, It's gonna be okay." He choked.
"He just turned to dust." Rhodey said, shocked. "He- he was standing there and then he turned to dust."
In the field, several soldiers turn to dust to M'Baku's shock.
Everyone looked at the screen horrified and grabbed their loved one's hands silently begging them to be safe from this. Clint was worrying about Laura, Natasha and his kids.
Tony grabbed both Pepper and Rhodey's arms.
T'Challa pulled both Okoye and Shuri close to him.
Peter pulled May, Ned and MJ in for a group hug.
Maria grabbed Fury's wrist, but that's the only worry they showed for each other, though inside they were feeling much more.
Scott was worrying about Maggie, Paxton, Cassie, Luis, Kurt and Dave and Hope and Hank.
Strange was worried about Wong, he hadn't seen the man since he'd left the planet and didn't know if he got snapped or not.
Valkyrie, Loki and Thor were worried about the remaining Asgardians.
Carol was fearing for Monica and Maria's safety in all of this.
T'Challa sees Okoye on the ground and tells her to get up because this is no place to die. T'Challa turns to dust.
"Brother!" Shuri screamed and started sobbing. "No." T'Challa wiped a tear off her face as she leaned in to cry on his shoulder. He wished he could tell his little sister that it would be okay, but he wasn't so sure he even believed that himself. Okoye looked at T'Challa with wide eyes as his on-screen self faded away.
Rocket stands across from Groot who starts turning to dust.
"Not Groot." Rocket begged, tears filling his eyes.
"I am Groot." Groot turns to dust.
"No." Rocket cried and pulled Groot into his lap.
"He called you dad." Gamora said, smiling sadly through her own tears. The Guardians all hugged one another for comfort from the loss of their teammate.
Wanda, still crying over Vision's body, fades to dust.
Wanda covered her mouth in shock. Vision looked at the screen in disbelief.
Sam tries to stand up but he too fades to dust. Rhodey is walking around looking for Sam.
"Sam?" Bucky asked, anxiously, Steve looked over at Sam with tears streaming down his face. Sam watched with resignation as his on-screen self faded away.
On Titan, Everyone stands around. Mantis says something's happening then turns to dust.
Everyone gasped. "Not the nice bug lady." Peter whispered.
Drax calls Quill's name and turns to dust. Tony tells Quill to be steady and Quill too, fades away.
"Oh God." Quill said as he took in a shuddering breath.
"No. Not them too." Rocket said, still crying over the loss of Groot. The Guardians all looked at each other with shock in their eyes. Their entire team, except Rocket and Nebula, was gone.
Strange tells Tony that this was the only way then he fades away.
"The only way to what?" Tony asked, angrily.
"To win." Strange answered.
"How is this winning?" Natasha asked.
"It will all make sense in the future." Strange said.
"For your sake, I hope that it does." Tony said.
Peter tells Tony that he doesn't feel so good.
"Kid?" Tony asked, worried.
"Peter no!" May screamed.
Peter says he doesn't know what's happening and collapses. Tony catches him. Peter says he doesn't want to go. Tony lays him in the ground, Peter apologizes and fades away.
Oh god." Tony whispered, breathing heavily.
May started sobbing. She held Peter tightly to make sure that he wasn't going to disappear.
"Peter could you- could you feel that coming? It seemed like you knew it was coming." Ned said.
"I mean I have a 6th sense that sort of warns me when danger is coming so it's entirely possible that I could've felt it." Peter answered, still in shock from seeing himself turn into dust.
Nebula says Thanos did it and sits down.
Multiple people let out frustrated screams. Thor, Loki, Carol and Wanda's eyes glowed their respective colors in anger, they were careful not to use their powers for fear of causing unnecessary destruction.
The remaining Avengers, gather in the woods in Wakanda. Natasha runs up to Steve who's hovering over Vision's body. Rhodey asks what's happening.
"He won." Everyone said blankly.
Thanos sits on the porch of a small house with a slight smile on his face.
"You sadistic bastard!" Rocket shouted after a moment of silence. Everyone else joined in on the angry shouting but it was so loud that the words were too hard to make out.
Fury and Maria are in a car. Fury asks if there's any word from Tony.
"Oh, you do care." Tony said, sarcastically.
Maria says there isn't yet and says they're watching every satellite from both hemispheres and there's still nothing.
Something beeps. Fury asks what it is.
Maria says there's multiple bogeys over Wakanda.
Fury asks if it's the same energy signature that was over New York.
"Probably." Bruce said.
Maria says it's 10 times bigger.
Fury says to tell Klein that they'll meet him- a car rashes in front of them.
Maria and Fury get out of the car, Maria goes to check out the other only to see that the driver is gone.
'They must've been dusted' Everyone thought, sorrowfully.
Fury asks if they're okay.
Maria says there's no one there.
A helicopter crashes into a nearby building.
"Holy shit!" Scott yelled.
Fury tells Maria to call control because there's a code red. Maria fades to dust.
"Hill." Coulson, Fury, Natasha and Clint gasped.
As more people fade to dust, Fury goes to his car and grabs a pager from his bag then he fades to dust as well.
"Fury!" Everyone shouted. Carol glanced at Fury, worried.
The message Fury was trying to send gets sent.
