Hank is talking with Hope. He says he still thinks about the night Janet and him had to leave her.

Hope and Hank glanced at each other, sadness shining in their eyes.

Young Hope overhears a conversation between Janet and Hank.

"Is that you?" May asked Hope, who only nodded, too entranced by what was happening on the screen. "You were a cute kid." She said.

Janet says she hopes it's not for long and she'll call him when she gets settled and has a better indication of what's going on. They spot Hope in the hall.

"Is this before- before she..." Scott trailed off, not wanting to finish his question. Hank nodded his head, solemnly.

Janet walks over to Hope and says she and Hank have a last minute business trip so Rose is going to stay with her for a few days.

Hope says she doesn't want her to go.

Janet says it's going to be so boring and she won't be able to keep her eyes open.

Everyone chuckled at that, the mood in the room lifted slightly.

Hank walks over, kisses Hope's forehead and says they'll be home soon.

Hank and Hope both winced at that, knowing what was coming.

Narrator Hank says he wishes they could've put their bags and tucked Hope into bed and says that there were too many lives at stake.

"It's okay, I understand. You did what you needed to do." Hope said.

Hank and Janet, each in their suits, watch as a bomb gets released. Janet says they need to stop it. They fly onto the bomb.

Narrator Hank says to disarm the bomb they needed to get inside it and says the plating was too thick and the only way in was to shrink through the molecules.

Scott's eyes widened as he remembered what that was like when he did the same thing. If he came back, did that mean Janet could too?

Janet flies next to hank and says she can't get through.

Hank says they both know what happens if she gets that small.

"She might not come back." Natasha said, as she remembered Hank's speech about messing with the regulator and going sub- atomic from one of the previous films.

Narrator Hank says it should've been him but his regulator was damaged and Janet's wasn't.

Janet tells Hank to tell Hope that she loves her then she shrinks between the molecules.

Hope had tears in her eyes as she watched. Scott put his arm over her shoulder and pulled her close.

Narrator Hank says Janet went sub-atomic to deactivate the bomb and she saved thousands of lives that day knowing that she'd be lost in the quantum realm alone, afraid and gone forever.

"She was a hero." Hope said, wiping a stray tear off of her cheek. "She made her choice."

"I just wish it didn't have to be her who made it." Hank said.

Hank walks into Hope's room and hugs her. Narrator Hank says telling her that Janet wasn't coming home was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do.

Everyone looked at the screen sadly, the mood in the room darkening once more.

In 2015, Hank and Hope are in his lab. Hank says Scott then showed up and broke into their house.

"Hey, you let me break in." Scott protested.

Hank says when Scott went into the quantum realm and he came back everything changed and he started to wonder if Janet could still be alive so he dusted off some old plans. Hank shows her some blueprints of a quantum tunnel.

"You're trying to get her back." Peggy realized, smiling softly.

Hope asks Hank what he's saying.

Hank say he thinks its possible to bring her back.

"That's amazing." Scott said.

"You really think we can do that?" Hope asked.

"If Scott can go into the quantum realm and come back, who's to say she can't either?" Hank asked.

'Present Day' appears on the screen. Scott says they're on and looks around with a flashlight. He says the place is a maze and asks where the map is.

"What are you doing, Scott?" Clint asked.

Scott holds the map to the flashlight and says they're definitely close and asks Cassie if she's ready. Cassie says she is.

"Oh, you're playing with your daughter." Clint said, happy his question was answered.

"What did you think I would be doing, hmm?" Scott asked.

Scott asks if she's sure then says they're done if she shows any hesitation or fear once they're inside.

Cassie says she eats fear for breakfast.

Scott laughed. "She's adorable." Natasha said.

Scott says that's super cool and they crawl through the tunnel. Scott points his flashlight at an ant-head and says Anton will show them the way.

"Again with the ant puns." Sam sighed.

Scott asks Anton which way they should go. Outside the fort, Luis suddenly stands up and pulls the string on Anton's hand.

"Ah, Luis aka Anton." Peter said, laughing.

Scott and Cassie continue crawling through the fort, Scott says it looks like the ants have burrowed through the tech facility. They come across a 'laser grid.'

"Are you... playing heist with Cassie?" Hope asked.

"I guess." Scott said and shrugged.

They crawl through the 'laser grid' and find the secret vault and asks if Cassie has the contact lens. Cassie puts a paper plate with an eye on it over her head and holds it up to a frisbee. The door opens.

"You know what, this actually seems every fun." Ned said.

Cassie sees the micro-treasure, which is actually Scott's trophy. Cassie says she wants to take it to show and tell.

Scott says she can't do that and says it never leaves the house because it's too important.

"You put something in there didn't you?" Natasha asked.

Scott says its the best birthday present she ever got him and he's touched that she thinks he's the world's best grandma. The trophy plaque says 'world's best grandma.'

"Scott Lang: World's best Grandma." Tony said.

"That's right." Scott agreed. "Don't you forget it."

Cassie says it was the only one they had.

Scott says it makes him want to knit her a sweater.

"You should." Hope said.

"I don't know how to knit." Scott said.

Luis opens the fort and tells Scott that he was looking at the schematics for the karapetyan buildings and he thinks they have way to many security cameras.

"What is he talking about?" Scott asked, genuinely curious. "What Karapetyan buildings?"

Scott disagrees. Luis says there's a lot of security cameras.

Scott says he knows what he needs and asks who the security expert in their business is.

"You're starting a business?" Steve asked.

Luis says Scott is but he's running the company and says he'll go somewhere else is they overquote him and they need to land this bird.

Scott says he isn't going anywhere.

"Who is 'he'?" Rhodey asked.

Scott says the expression is 'land the fish'.

Luis says it's 'land the bird' like how you land a plane and says you gotta land the plane to be in business.

"Okay but for real... which one is it?" Peter asked.

"I'm pretty sure it's 'land the bird' because how the hell do you land a fish?" Sam answered.

Scott says he knows its silly to get hung up on these kinds of things.

Luis asks how he's gonna land a fish.

"Exactly." Sam said.

Luis says fish can't walk and asks who would win between a fish and a hawk if a fish swam up on shore.

"The hawk would win." Ned said.

Scott says Luis has really turned him around on this thing and says they're gonna land karapetayn.

"What is Karapetayn?" Scott asked.

Scott asks Luis to excuse him because he's in the middle of trying to steal something with his daughter.

Luis says he'll recheck it.

Cassie pulls the wire for the escape ant and says they should bounce before the po-po get there.

"Did she just say 'Let's bounce before the po-po get here.'?" Scott asked, giggling.

Scott asks how she even knows that as they get onto Antoinette. He pulls a rope and they slide down the stairs and end up outside. Scott's foot goes through the fence.

"That looks so fun." Peter said.

"Peter, no." May said, before he got any ideas.

Cassie says she wishes they could shrink for real.

Scott says that's pretty cool.

Luis peeks through the window and tells Scott that he's headed to the office.

"What office?" Scott asked, still confused.

Luis apologizes for freaking him out earlier and says he feels way better and his heart is definitely beating way too hard and his hands are shaking.

"Um, maybe you should relax yourself a bit." Bruce said.

Luis says he thinks it's unrelated.

Scott tells Luis that it's gonna be great and he has nothing to worry about.

Luis tells himself that he's the boss and backs through the window.

"Yeah you're the boss." Scott said. "Of... something that I don't know about yet."

They hear an alarm. Cassie points to the perimeter monitor on the house. Scott notices that his foot with the ankle monitor is through the fence.

"Damn." Scott sighed.

"Good luck explaining this situation to the police." Maria said.

FBI agents search Scott's house. Scott tells Jimmy that he only has 3 days left and asks why he would try to escape.

Jimmy tells Scott that these are the rules and says they'll search the place if he trips the perimeter. One of the agents breaks something.

"Hey, be careful!" Scott yelled.

Scott says his foot went through the fence on accident.

Cassie says their flying ant crashed.

Jimmy looks at Scott. Scott tells him to try and entertain a 10 year old when he can't leave the house.

"It sounds like hell." Clint said, knowing that his future self was probably going through the same thing with his 3 kids. "I think after a while you'd start running out of idea.

Scott asks if Jimmy knows the lengths he's gone to and does a card trick and says he learned close up magic. He does another card trick.

"Whoa, how did you do that?" Ned asked.

Cassie asks Jimmy why they can't just leave Scott alone.

"He's just doing his job, he's getting paid to not leave me alone." Scott sighed.

Jimmy bends down and says this must all seem very confusing grown-up stuff and says her school has rules like no drawing on the walls and says Scott went to Germany and drew on walls with Captain America.

"Nice way of putting it." Scott said, sarcastically.

Jimmy says that was in violation of article 16 paragraph 3 of the Sokovia Accords.

The Avengers all winced at the mention of the Accords, remembering seeing how they essentially tore the team apart.

Jimmy says as a part joint deal with Homeland Security and the German government, Scott was allowed to return to the U.S. if he served 2 years of house arrest and 3 years of probation.

A few whistles were heard.

Jimmy says Scott also needs to avoid unauthorized technology, activities or contact with associates who were or are in violation of the accords.

"Wow." Scott said. "That's a bit overkill, don't you think?"

Scott sarcastically says Jimmy's great with kids.

Jimmy says he's also a youth pastor.

"Of course he is." Sam said.

Jimmy asks if Scott's had any contact with Hank or Hope.

Scott says he hasn't.

Jimmy asks if he's sure and says it's only a matter of time before they get them.

"What? Why would he arrest us? What did we do?" Hope asked.

"Probably for association with me." Scott sighed. "I'm sorry."

Jimmy says it was their tech so they violated the accords too.

"Wait so because I used a suit Hank made, that means he violated the accords?" Scott asked.

"How does that make sense?" Hope asked.

Jimmy says association with Hank and Hope breaks their deal and says he doesn't need to remind Scott that any violation of his agreement means a minimum of 20 years in prison.

"Is he serious?" Scott asked.

Scott says he hasn't talked to Hank and Hope in forever.

Cassie says they hate his guts.

"That was blunt." Tony said.

Jimmy asks Scott how he did the card trick.

Scott asks if he's serious.

"You should've said 'A true magician never reveals his secrets.'." Clint said.

"Missed opportunity." Scott sighed.

Maggie and Paxton walk up the stairs and Maggie says they can't just show up there and search the place whenever they want.

Paxton says they actually can.

"It's their job." Fury sighed.

Maggie says they need a warrant.

Paxton says they actually don't.

"Yep, that's house arrest for you." Scott sighed.

Cassie gets ready to leave. Maggie asks her if she packed her soccer shoes and walks up to Scott and says next time she sees him will be on the outside and she and Paxton hug him.

Scott smiled slightly. "Nice to see you guys are still on good terms at least." Sam said.

Paxton tells Scott that he's proud of him and hugs him again.

Maggie mentions Scott's new business and says she's sensing greatness.

"What is this business I keep hearing about?" Scott asked.

Cassie tells Scott to have a fun weekend.

Scott says they'll go paint the town red once he's out of there next weekend and they'll have so much ice cream they won't stop puking.

"Thank you for that image." Hope said, sarcastically.

Scott pretends to throw up and a stack of cards falls from his mouth.

Paxton asks how he did that.

"I wanna know too." Ned said.

After they leave, Scott walks around his house and says 3 days is easy-peasy.

"You'd think that wouldn't you?" MJ asked.

Scott plays some electric drums, bowls, learns more magic tricks, and sings karaoke,

"You're actually not terrible." Rhodey said.

Scott reads 'the fault in our stars' and cries.

"That was actually a pretty good book." Peter said.

Scott does tiny origami and basketball trick shots.

"Nice." Rhodey said.

Scott bathes while covering his ankle monitor. He falls asleep in the tub and dreams about the quantum realm where he sees Janet and Hank's house.

"What the hell?" Hank asked.

Scott hears Janet tells Hope that she'll find her and calls her Jellybean. Janet finds Scott in the wardrobe.

Hope says Janet always finds her. Scott looks in the mirror and sees Janet.

"Huh?" Scott asked.

"Did you just have a dream as if you were my mother?" Hope asked.

"How the hells is that possible?" Scott asked.

Scott gasps awake. Later, he takes a flip phone out of a hiding place in the wall and calls Hank and leaves a message saying that he doesn't know if this is his number anymore and he's probably the last person he wants to hear from.

Scott sighed.

Scott says he had a really weird dream and says he knows it doesn't sound like an emergency and says it felt very real. He says he was in the quantum realm and he thinks he saw Janet.

"Which... you did." Hank said.

Scott says he was Janet but not in a weird way. He says that hearing this out loud he's thinking that it's not an emergency.

"Maybe not an emergency, but it could definitely be useful considering what he's trying to do." Hope said.

Scott apologizes for bothering then says he's sorry for a lot of things. He ends the message and breaks the phone.

"Why'd you break it?" Quill asked. Scott shrugged.

Later, Scott eats and watches a movie. A fly buzzes near his ear and he swats it away. Scott touches the side of his neck in pain then passes out.

"I wonder who did that." Scott said.
