Chapter 248

Smooth

Jim made his way over the ridge and down into the canyon which contained the containers. They needed to find out what was in them. They needed to see if there was any Skynet involvement.

Derek and Kyle entered the canyon from the other end. They were currently on a dirt road. They already drove several miles up the canyon.

"Jim, we're approximately a mile away from where the containers are located." Derek said.

Kyle wanted to know what their next move was going to be.

"I think we should park the SUV and go the rest of the way on foot." Kyle said

Jim was currently less than a quarter mile away from the location from the other end. He would be there in just a few minutes.

"I'm almost there right now." Jim said. "I think you can hold where you're at. Let me take a look around first."

Derek and Kyle felt they were too far away to give adequate backup if it became necessary.

"We're kind of far out if anything goes wrong." Derek said. "I think we should move in closer."

Kyle didn't think they were dealing with Skynet related activity yet.

"You're more likely to run into drug traffickers than anything." Kyle said. "I think we should drive another half mile closer so we can be there in a couple of minutes if the shooting starts."

Jim wanted them to remain out of the danger zone.

"Negative, you should remain one mile out." Jim said. "I have the containers in sight."

Derek knew drug related activities could get sophisticated. Skynet related would be worse.

"Make sure you use all your vision spectrums." Derek said. "Watch out for booby traps or anything which doesn't look right."

Jim wondered if maybe he should have waited for the Reese brothers to arrive. They might be able to help him identify something 'out of place'. They came from a future where they needed to make things look out of place which weren't, to remain safe so they could hide what was important. He didn't want them to worry.

"Affirmative…." Jim said.

Derek looked over at Kyle. He continued up the dirt road. He wanted to be able to support Jim if it became necessary.

Kyle thought it was a good idea. He gave Derek a nod and made sure his M4 was ready. There were other weapons as well.

"I've got two LAW rockets behind me. There's a Stinger ready to go on the seat behind us." Kyle said. "I think we're ready for more than just the drug trade if it becomes necessary."

They traveled at a relatively slow speed so they didn't kick up a dust trail on the dirt road.

Jim made his way to the rear of the closest container. The containers seemed out of place. So far he hadn't spotted anyone or even heard anything. He made his way along the side of a container around to the front side. He paused and looked at the other containers. The doors were closed on all of them. He decided not to go out into the open area between several of the containers. He went back the way he came. He checked the rear, and around the sides, of several more of the containers.

"So far I haven't encountered anyone." Jim said. "I can see tire tracks around the area, but there are no vehicles. I haven't tried any of them yet, but the doors on all of the containers appear to be secured."

Derek and Kyle were less than a half a mile away from the location based upon the satellite images and the landmarks around them.

"We haven't spotted any vehicle traffic yet." Derek said. "It seems there should be some type of guard or surveillance equipment around where you're at. Something seems off with what we know so far."

Jim checked for any type of surveillance. He was unable to detect any.

"I haven't found anything yet other than the seven containers." Jim said. "I'm going to open one up."

Kyle felt very uncomfortable with the current situation. He motioned for Derek to continue up the canyon with the SUV.

"We have a few LAW rockets ready, and a Stinger if the HK drone shows up." Kyle said.

Derek wanted Jim to know where they were at.

"We're close enough where I can see the blue container." Derek said.

Jim wasn't surprised. They were closer than he wanted them to be.

"The blue container is the furthest one away from me." Jim said.

Kyle scanned the area with a pair of binoculars. He couldn't spot anything.

"I don't see anything on our end." Kyle said.

Derek glanced back in the rear view mirror.

"There's a dust cloud in the canyon behind us." Derek said. "Someone is on their way up here. It looks like they're in a hurry."

Kyle reached back and took one of the LAW rockets.

"Maybe I better bail out here." Kyle said. "It looks like you might be able to stash the SUV a little further up."

Kyle made sure Derek's M4 and the other LAW rocket was moved to the front seat.

Derek wanted to get the SUV off of the dirt road.

"I'm going to go behind those trees off to the left." Derek said. "If there's only one vehicle let it pass. If it looks like a threat I'll take it out with the other law rocket. I want you to be ready with a follow-up shot if necessary. If there's a second vehicle, it will become your primary target after I fire on the first vehicle."

Kyle got out of the SUV with the LAW rocket and his M4.

"Roger." Kyle said. "If there are more than two vehicles, and they look like hostiles, I'll try to take out the last one to trap the other vehicles between the two we take out with the LAW rockets."

Jim was worried things were about to go out of control.

"Everyone needs to remain concealed for now." Jim said. "We need to know what we're dealing with before we start shooting. If they're Skynet forces, they might call for the HK drone to come and assist them."

Derek was about to get out of the SUV. He decided to bring the Stinger with him. If an HK drone did show up, it would most likely attack the SUV first.

"As long as there's only one HK drone, I have it covered." Derek said.

From his place of concealment, Kyle was able to see where Derek was at. It was good to know where the 'friendlies' were.

"I'm all set." Kyle said.

Derek gave him a thumbs up.

"I am as well." Derek said.

Jim was between two of the containers where he could either move forward or retreat as necessary. He didn't think retreat would be an option if shooting started.

"I'm ready too." Jim said.

Allison led John into her bedroom. They were both naked right now. She was ready to take it to the next step.

John developed second thoughts and was flooded with guilt and remorse. He wanted to be with Allison but he kept thinking of Cameron.

He looked around. He wanted to run. He wanted to do this so much with Allison, but now he just wanted to get away. Here Allison was right in front of him. She was ready and wanted him. It was a dream come true, quite literally. It was something he wanted from the first moment he saw her….

He felt defeated and very foolish. He hated himself right now. He was afraid he was throwing away his future and his destiny. He was sure Allison would probably hate him for this. They were moments away from completing their love. Now he was the one with 'cold feet'. He was very embarrassed with everything and how it all fell apart.

"I'm sorry." John said to Allison.

John started to put his clothes back on.

Allison moved to stop him.

It was clear to her she lost him to 'Cameron'.

It was time to act. She spoke.

"I love you, John, and you love me." She said.

It hit John like a two by four across the face when she said it. His head snapped up

"What?" John asked.

They were Cameron's words.

"I love you, John, and you love me." She said again.

John tried to collect himself. The new turn of events was difficult to process. Was it really Cameron? Was all along? He wanted the girl he met on the first day of school and here she was. It was who he was with! He needed to get things cleared up.

"Cameron?" John asked.

She smiled at him. She shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"I'm an infiltration unit." Cameron said. "I guess I finally passed."

John looked confused. He looked around.

"I don't understand. Where's Allison?" John asked.

Cameron knew the answer and the feelings and emotions behind it.

"She's where she wants to be. She's in the arms of her true love. She's with Vanna next door at the Detail house." Cameron said.

John thought about how Bob told him not to worry about it earlier. He now understood why they deflected him away from the Detail house. They didn't want him to know Cameron was playing 'Allison'.

There was something he needed to ask about, even though he already knew the answer.

"What about you and Vanna?" John asked. "It looked like you and her were…."

Cameron smiled. It was close. They both were ready to expand their relationship. They both decided to hang on to what they already shared with the one they loved. There was always time to grow and explore at a later date. No doors were closed. They just weren't opened yet.

"We decided to go get what we both wanted." Cameron said. "It was Allison and you."

John was still confused. Everyone wanted what they almost were able to have.

"I don't get it." John said.

Cameron couldn't really answer it herself. She could only state the facts and her function over her personal desires. There were a number of issues she felt she needed to address.

"I don't either. I keep hurting you and I can't seem to stop. I do love you, John. I want you all to myself. I'm VERY jealous. I know the future will force me to 'share'." Cameron said. "I accept it for your protection. I don't WANT to, but I KNOW I NEED to. I have to protect you, John. I must make sure you're protected no matter what the sacrifice is."

John didn't know what to say. He took a moment to look Cameron over.

"You fooled me again." John said.

John really thought it was Allison this time. If he would have looked harder, he would have seen the perfect skin, her sheath. There wasn't a mark or blemish on it.

Cameron felt she threw a few clues out there.

"I did tell you to LOOK at me and TOUCH me." Cameron said.

He was aware of it. He looked but it didn't click all the way. She even placed his hands on her breasts. He thought how they felt identical to Cameron's. They were Cameron's breasts. He believed everything about Cameron was perfect.

"You are perfect, your skin is perfect. Everything about you is perfect." John said.

Cameron wanted to smile but she knew better. She still felt flawed both on the inside and out. It was the flaws on the inside which troubled her the most.

"I'm far from perfect. I think about half my sheath has been regenerated or replaced. Look at my right breast. It's slightly smaller than my left one. You can't tell by looking at it, but I can. It was missing the nipple for months. I was sure it wasn't coming back after having been blown off a second time. My chip is damaged. I'm flawed in many ways."

John thought about the hundreds, if not thousands of times Cameron was shot. He took a moment to look at her right breast. It looked the same to him as it always did. It didn't look any different from the left one. He liked the honesty. He didn't like the self criticism on her part. He loved her more than anything because of them.

"And I love all of them and everything about you." John said. "I really do."

Cameron still stood there naked.

She wanted to see if John knew how far he would have 'gone'.

"If Jesse would have been in her room, what would have happened?" Cameron asked.

John swallowed hard with her question. He wanted Jesse very much right then. He was sure he would have taken her. He didn't think he could have stopped, especially if she would have been all over him. He was sure as soon as he touched her rings, he wouldn't have been able to stop.

"I think I would 'have'." John said. "I'm sorry. I wanted to. I won't lie. I wanted to be with her right then."

John tried not to think of his earlier thoughts about Claire. He wanted to be with her as well. Now he felt guilty when he thought about it.

Cameron gave him her sly smile. John was very predictable to her.

"You would have. I could feel it." Cameron said. "It was a good thing Gail took her out. It took away the temptation and what would certainly have followed.

John nodded. Jesse being away from the base wasn't chance. It was clear Cameron was one step ahead of him again. She was still manipulating others, but in a good way sort of. It would probably still happen at some point anyway. Maybe it should happen under better circumstances than the way he felt earlier. He was very upset at Cameron earlier. He still needed to consider her involvement.

"What a 'coincidence'…." John said.

It all made sense to John now.

Cameron still stood there naked in front of him. She looked down at herself and then at John.

"Are you going to only look at me all day or do something about it…?" Cameron asked.

Cameron knew they were both ready. In fact she could see John was ready now since he KNEW it was her.

John took in her perfect naked form. There was no turning back now. It would have been impossible…. Cameron was too beautiful and so special to him.

They moved forward into each other's arms.

Right now was where they wanted to be. They were content with each other.

Holly drove around the block and returned to the safe house next door. She knew she was the 'odd man out'. It disturbed her so.

Cameron and Vanna arrived a few minutes before John and Bob. Vanna and Allison shared a tearful reunion. Cameron wanted to see how far John would 'go'. She was sure if Jesse would have been in, something would have happened. She asked Gail to go out with Jesse.

Gail understood the 'warning'. She was in no hurry to lose Jesse to John. She knew once Jesse was in John's bed, Cameron would make sure Jesse stayed there. There was no taking one of the girls away from Cameron.

Holly didn't like any of it. She loved Allison. It distressed her because Vanna and Allison were lovers. They were the real pair. She was an interloper. She really understood how Cameron felt and why better now. She went out on patrol with Bob. She couldn't stand to hear Allison and Vanna 'together'. It stabbed her 'heart'.

Since Cameron was on her chip, there were many traces left behind. The fragments were all beautiful to find. Most of them anyway, some were not and bypassed her firewalls.

There were times now when Holly thought of 'self termination'. It seemed sometimes as the problems and heartache built up, there must be something better. It seemed escape into oblivion was where peace could be found. The thought of nothingness became quite comforting. Gail told her when she was deactivated, everything ended. There was no sense of an ending either. Everything just stopped.

Bob walked with Holly on 'patrol'. He could see she was hurting. He did what he could to comfort her. He hoped he never developed 'feelings' like the infiltration units did. What a terrible way to terminate.

He felt the situation could be worse. He explained to Holly it was better to have Allison with Vanna, than John. He pointed out once Allison was with John, Cameron would do whatever it took to keep her there.

Holly knew what it meant. She decided maybe Allison being with Vanna wasn't as bad as it could have been. She knew it would happen anyway. It always did, they were lovers for years. She knew she was the intruder. At THAT moment, she felt she was the one trying to take someone from somebody. It made her feel bad about herself even more now. She knew it was how Cameron felt. It was very unpleasant.

Bob noticed Holly's hand started to glitch. He took it in his hand. It seemed like the proper thing to do. It actually gave him Comfort to do it. He could see it comforted her as well.

They walked along silently, hand in hand.

Bob wanted to help Holly.

Holly knew Bob was trying to help her. It was a Terminator helping a Restorator, her own kind. It made her feel like less of a 'walking pile of junk' or like 'scrap metal'.

Maybe there were other avenues for her to explore. Not all relationships needed to be based on sex. If sex was the relationship, then there really was no relationship. Anyone could provide sex. Not everyone could provide love. Love was much more elusive than sex was.

Vanna and Allison were together in the Detail house next door to the Young residence.

The two long time lovers were where they wanted to be. It was with each other. It gave them some time to reflect on things and events. It allowed them to look at where they were in life right now. It seemed to be filled with many ups and downs.

Vanna looked at Allison with love in her eyes and in her heart.

"Allison, I've missed you so much." Vanna told her.

Allison looked back at her the same way.

"I've missed you, Vanna… Savannah." Allison said.

Vanna smiled when Allison said her name, her full name. It was the name she used when they first loved each other. She wanted to know the answers to the same questions Allison did.

"What's going wrong with us?" Vanna asked. "Is it us, or is it just time?"

Allison spent hours mulling over those very questions. The answers always came back the same in the end.

"We have others we care about and love. They are close to us and we can turn to them easily. We do it instead of working through our problems like we needed to do before. We are weak and seek the comfort of others…. I don't regret it. We both need to be with someone." Allison said. "You have Jesse and I have Holly. We both love them dearly. No matter what, YOU are still my mate. You always will be. You are my true love."

Vanna was overjoyed to hear it. It was much the same conclusion she reached as well. Without the fear of death lurking around every corner, things took on a different perspective. There were others they could turn to easily who they cared about and who cared about them. There were many factors involved. Nothing ever stayed the same for very long.

The two girls kissed and embraced over it. It was what they both wanted. There were still the other issues and people to deal with.

"What about Jesse and Holly?" Vanna asked.

Allison didn't see it as a problem if everyone understood how things worked and what their place was. What mattered in the end was protecting the future. It would involve a lot of sacrifice on everyone's part.

"Sometimes we have to love the one we're with, when the one we want isn't here." Allison said. "It's how our lives are. We love them too. We have the future to protect, not ourselves. We can't be selfish and must embrace the future."

Vanna understood it but still some things were different and disproportionate. She was very happy Allison was able to find her family and be with them. She couldn't, her parents were dead. She didn't want Allison to give up those precious things again. She'd already needed to do it once. She wouldn't want to give up her parents if she could be with them again either.

"I know you want to be with your family." Vanna said. "I understand it. I know you love Holly and I accept it, she's your lover and protector. Jesse has Gail as her lover and protector. I don't have anyone who's the same way for me."

Vanna thought back to her parents. They were dead. Mrs. Weaver tried to be what she could to Savannah and her, but it wasn't the same. She knew she could never have what Allison did now with her family. She would do the same thing if she could. She would want it more for Savannah than for herself if it was possible. Savannah was still young, even if she was growing fast. She needed to suffer a lot from an early age.

Allison saw how lonely and hurt Vanna looked. She wanted to do something to help her. She previously tried to get Holly to do a three-way with Vanna and her. Holly was reluctant to do so. She would more than willingly share Holly with Vanna and her whenever possible. She wasn't going to push Holly. There needed to be a better solution.

"You can have Jesse often but we both know she belongs to Gail." Allison said. "I'll tell Cameron you're lonely."

Vanna didn't want to cause any problems. There seemed to be enough of those as it was. She appreciated Allison's willingness to help. As long as she 'belonged' to Allison, she would deal with any other issues. She was sure things would only become more complicated if Cameron became further involved.

"No, don't do it." Vanna said "As long as I know we still belong to each other, I can accept the rest."

Allison always knew something would come before everything else.

"Everyone sacrifices for John Connor." Allison said.

Vanna knew it was even bigger.

"We all sacrifice for the future." Vanna added.

The two girls looked at each other and loved each other. They did everything together and then to each other. It was when they worked on each other alone they were best able to express their love for the other. Everything they did was for the other one as they did.

Vanna slowly took Allison to heaven several times. They liked to keep each other there a little longer than was necessary. It allowed them to squeeze out a little extra feeling. It was the extra effort which showed how much they cared and thought of the other one.

Allison moved around and started in on Vanna again. She really liked where she was at and what she could see and feel. It always excited her when she was in the same position she was in now. It made her think about some of the things she wanted to do herself going forward.

"Damn it's smooth. I still need to get it done." Allison said, as she looked up along Vanna's flat stomach, through the valley of Vanna's breasts with her pink nipples to her smiling beautiful face.

Love and contentment filled the air.

'(Take Me Home) Country Roads' by 'John Denver', played in the background.
