Now onto the story.

Chapter 50

"Whoa, this is…" Will gasped as he finished watching the video on the tablet. "You guys are right, I'm sure this will be just what we need, it'll give me an edge over Norman, if I can just get him to stay still long enough to pay attention to it."

"Well, that's what we hoped. It looks like it was filmed the day before he died and sent to Norman the day after." Mike explained.

Nancy sighed sadly. "Harry probably gave those instructions, but it was already too late by then, Norman had slipped away before he could see it...It might have changed everything."

Will nodded. "Yeah, speaking of this tablet by the way, what the hell were you guys thinking, what you did, that was crazy, what if you got caught or something...I wouldn't have been close enough to help you guys."

"It was a risk we had to take." Nancy said quickly.

Mike nodded. "I'm sorry Will, but Nancy is right. We had to take the risk, what if we'd waited, security might have been different. We might not have had a chance."

"Yeah, maybe, but still…" Will replied, uneasy at the thought of what might have gone wrong.

"There's nothing more we can do now." Nancy said softly. "They're all laying low but they're going to strike any day now, which means we need to hold onto these peaceful moments while we can."

"Yeah, once it takes off, it's gonna take off big." Mike agreed.

Will sighed but agreed. "Alright, well, there is one thing."

He smiled at Mike as he said that and Mike smiled back as they decided to ready themselves for what was clearly on Will's mind.

Later, Will and Mike were walking together, holding hands, both happy, in Mike's case, also feeling anticipation.

"So, c'mon, tell me." He asked. "Where are we going?"

Will shook his head. "Sorry Mike; no can do."

Mike made a face. "Why not, please, Will, tell me."

"You'll find out soon, we're nearly there." Will replied; grinning.

They finally arrived at the restaurant and Mike's eyes lit up.

"Wow." He gasped.

Will nodded; grinning. "Yup, it's that new restaurant you were going on about. I thought we'd try it together."

Mike laughed and kissed Will's cheek. "I can hardly wait, let's go."

Will agreed and they headed inside. Will had already made a reservation, so they were led to their table and sat down. They consulted the menu; the restaurant was advertised to specialize in food from other countries too, part of why Mike was interested. After consulting the menus and talking to each other, they made their choice. They gave their orders and waited; as they did so, Mike smiled and laid his hand on top of Will's. Will smiled back; he also noted the other people in the restaurant. Many were giving them curious looks, or smiling and talking amongst themselves. Will blushed as he heard the words 'cute couple' being mentioned a few times.

Relieved that nobody seemed to at least be reacting negatively to them here; Will was rather happy and pleased that Mike was also rather happy too. Shortly after that the food arrived and they began eating. As they ate, the made small talk; Mike was enjoying himself immensely.

'I've never felt happier in my life. I never imagined I'd be in this sort of situation, not only am I dating Will, but he's Spider-Man, in fact, I never thought I'd even date Will, let alone that last part.' He thought to himself. 'Of course, there's danger around every corner, so, Will's pulling out all the stops to make this the best day ever for me.'

They continued to eat and finally; once they were done, Will paid, despite Mike's wish to split paying between them. Once they left they walked to the nearby shopping mall; heading for the movies. Mike couldn't wait, Will had already told him what movie they were going to see, a new one that had come out recently and that he had been interested in. Of course Will would ensure he'd be able to see it. They sat through the movie; holding hands, even sharing a few kisses. After the movies they began heading back home.

"Come on, I have something for you, it's at home."

Mike was intrigued by this and so they headed home together. Finally, at home, they headed to Will's room.

"Wait here." Will said; Mike did so, standing watching as he reached under his bed. "Okay, here we go. Think of it as, a gift for making me so happy, after all I've been through."

He turned and handed him the gift. Mike opened it and gasped; his eyes wide. The gift turned out to be a new watch, his old one had been broken since he had been thrown out of his home by Ted.

"Oh, Will, it's wonderful; you spoil me." He said at last.

Will smiled and watched him as he put it on as he replied. "Only because you deserve it. I also should confess it's practical too...the red button on it-"

Mike smirked. "Spidey related?"

"Yeah, it tunes my Spider-Sense to home in on the watch, if you're ever in danger." Will explained, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

Mike grinned and, once Will was done, he stepped up and kissed him. "Thank you so much Will, it's perfect."

Will grinned. That night, as Mike lay in bed, he smiled as he remembered the whole day. Smiling to himself he drifted off to sleep.
