In Some Future:

Jesse and Cam were in the 'bad' section of the compound. It was where all the 'dregs' and 'lowlifes' hung out. They looked around the area with Snake. There were a lot of complaints from people in the area about work assignments and having to prepare to fight. Most of the people were parasites. They didn't want to do anything, but wanted the protection of the Resistance. There were former Scavengers among them. No female was safe in the sector, especially after dark.
Jesse looked around her. She was disgusted. She wondered if maybe it wouldn't be a good idea for the 'Cameron Squad' to terminate them. She really loathed these people, maybe more so because she was once associated with people like them in her past, the future. Seeing them made her dislike them even more because they reminded her of herself, or at least who she once was. She knew she owed Cameron, Allison, and Vanna so much. They'd all worked together to change her. They gave her a life. They gave her, her own life back. Now Cameron even provided 'herself', a clone anyway, to each of the girls. She wondered if it was because Cameron thought they were stuck there forever. She needed to refocus as she felt her mind wander. Where they were wasn't the place to be caught off guard.
Cam could see Jesse was lost in thought about other things. She was worried about Jesse's well being and her safety now. She could handle the area herself if it came to it. She was 'Cameron' after all. It seemed the best course of action was to get out of the downtrodden area as soon as possible.
"Jesse, we need to get back soon." Cam said. "We have an appointment."
Jesse was there to do a job. They could leave the area at any time. She refocused. She decided to push Snake a little and see where it went.
"We'll go back soon enough." Jesse said. "I guess the only easier life would be working for Skynet."
Snake nodded. He didn't think it was all as great as some made it out to be. He thought all anyone needed to do was think about it all for a few seconds. A lot of things could go wrong fast. If they did, one would be stuck in the enemy camp. There was no way it could end well for anyone.
"It's what some say." Snake said. "I don't know if I believe it. If some Skynet work camp needed more workers, I think Skynet wouldn't hesitate to use the Grays. I think they would be sacrificed in a second with no remorse. It's what kept me away. It would be a lie to say I hadn't thought of it before. Look around here. What do you see? Is there any hope or prospect of a future here? At least Grays have food to eat."
Snake also heard the stories how there were plenty of 'fresh' females for them as 'comfort women'. The Grays in every work camp could select any new female arrivals for 'barracks duty'. Often a young male would be selected as well.
Jesse already looked around. She thought part of the problem was the people who resided there. Then again she knew there was no 'free ride' anywhere. At some point, everyone needed to 'pay the piper'.
"So there is no Paradise?" Jesse asked.
Snake heard stories of the past. While it was better than what existed now, it seemed to have plenty of challenges and problems. The future looked even dimmer as long as Skynet existed.
"Maybe in the past, or some distant future, there's Paradise." Snake said. "It's not any place we will ever see."
Jesse could see Cam wanted to leave.
"Maybe we'll talk later." Jesse said.
Snake eyed Jesse and Cam. He really liked what he saw. He was aware most of the females chose to 'associate' with each other. He was never with a female who hadn't been abused in the Wastelands at some point. It happened almost as often in a Resistance camp. When people couldn't see a future, it made abusive behavior easy because they didn't think it mattered. When there was no light at the end of the tunnel, those in the tunnel took what they wanted from around them in the Darkness within them. It was a way of life. It was so common for so long it really didn't matter to anyone except the female who was abused. If the abused individual survived, either a male or a female, there wasn't even a report taken if the abuser couldn't be positively identified.
He decided to make one last 'push' for their 'affection'.
"If you and your friend ever want to party…." Snake said as he left the statement open.
Jesse didn't want to close any doors, but she wasn't about to open any either. She wanted her message out there.
"We know where to find you." Jesse said. "If anyone was a Gray before, I'd like to speak with them off the record and discreetly."
Snake looked around with a lot of apprehension. He knew the dangers of asking questions.
"I'll quietly ask around." Snake said. "I don't want a knife in my back. There aren't many people I would trust around here."
Actually, Snake didn't trust anyone. They would all sell him out in a second if they could get something out of it.
Jesse wanted to give him a little hope even if it was false hope.
"Thanks, love." Jesse said as she blew him a kiss.
Jesse saw Cam become even more irritated with her move.
The girls departed.
Jesse felt she needed to explain herself. It was really part of her infiltration training. It was actually one of the moves Cameron taught her. She really thought Cam should understand.
"I'm sorry, Cam, it was just to keep the target close. This place gives me the creeps." Jesse said. "I hate these people. It didn't mean anything. It was just standard infiltration practice."
Cam was still irritated. Maybe it was because she didn't like any of the people in the trashy area to begin with. She would deal with the issue later on. She would collect the other Metal girls. They would 'cleanse' the area of its current infestation of vermin. It was human vermin.
"I will return with the other Cameron clones and terminate them all tonight." Cam said. "I will personally terminate Snake."
Jesse took Cam's hand and stopped her. She looked into her eyes. She understood Cam's concern and jealousy. She didn't want it to be an issue under the current circumstances.
"No, not yet, we need more information first." Jesse said. "This is about our future safety. There's more going on around here. We need to find out what it is. If we act too soon and don't get the mole, they will go underground and we will never find them in a timely manner.
Cam looked disappointed but she understood the unidentified threat. She felt Jesse played the part well. It was handled better than she could have done. She knew of Jesse's past and some of the things which were done to her and some of the things she did to others. None of them were pretty.
She thought about Jesse being held down by a group of men and savaged over and over and over. She imagined what it would be like if it happened to her. She was aware in Cameron's future, a captured female Terminator was immobilized and abused by hundreds of men. She would be aware of what was happening with no way to prevent it. After the initial abuse they were reprogrammed as a 'Metal Whore'. In their new capacity they were programmed to be willing and compliant 'sex slaves'. They would perform whatever sexual tasks they were asked to do with a smile on their face. Sometimes for laughs, there would be five men at a time. A glitch impulse shot through her hand. She was pleased when Jesse silently took her left hand as they walked away. It ended the glitch almost immediately.
"It's OK, love." Jesse said. We have each other now. It's all that matters at the end of the day."
Cam looked over at Jesse and smiled. There wasn't a lot which seemed like it could matter in their current future. It was a very destitute and ugly future at best. She didn't believe the humans there appreciated what Mrs. Weaver did for them. It really made her wonder what Mrs. Weaver's endgame actually was. It certainly couldn't be to protect the low lifes and the anti-Metal faction.
Unit 357 assembled a team of Restorators. All of them were the ones Cameron restored back to operation. They were a very enthusiastic and active group. All of them were very pleased to be reactivated. They all thought it was better to be functional as opposed to terminated. They also wanted to settle a score with Skynet for damaging them in the first place. They were all highly motivated for multiple reasons.
The group included the two female Restorators who Cameron told to take the day off, they were also present. They stayed to help instead. It pleased her even more. The troops were very inspired. They now could believe in something, or in this case it was someone.
Cameron wanted them to understand it was going to be a risky endeavor. There would be damage and even terminations. In battle many things could go wrong and go wrong fast. Even if they were reactivated, they could face the same perils they did previously.
"This will be a dangerous assignment. None of you has to be here. This is strictly voluntary. There will be casualties. Not everyone will make it." Cameron said. "We're going to fight and fight hard. We're going to fight to win. There's no second place winner. I'll personally make sure each of you is repaired or rebodied if at all possible."
Unit 357 was pleased everyone volunteered after they were restored back to operation. They were all made aware things were going to be different. Their reactivation was proof of it. He faced the Commander with his troops.
"This is the first group of volunteers, Commander." Unit 357 said.
Cameron smiled. She was pleased there was no hesitation on any of their parts.
"Thank you, Bob, I want your full report." Cameron said.
Unit 357 was aware as the restored Restorators contacted their associates, their 'friends', and told them they were back and why, the atmosphere of all the troops changed. The word spread quickly. He was impressed with the feedback he received from his troops.
"There are hundreds ready to join you, Commander." Unit 357 said. "I don't know of a single Restorator or reprogrammed Terminator who isn't ready."
Cameron thought it was fast. She basically just took over Mrs. Weaver's army of Restorators. All she did was try to treat everyone with some dignity and respect. She personally knew what it was like to have those things taken away from her. She felt if she dwelt in the past her hand would start to glitch. She decided to push ahead. Life moved forward, not backwards.
"I would like all of you who have not already done so to pick names for yourselves." Cameron said. "I like to deal with everyone as an individual with a name, rather than just the designation of when they were constructed. A name is more personal and indicates individuality. Each of you is a unique individual."
Cameron gave them a sense of individuality, a sense of worth, and value. They were individuals and they all mattered. She sadly reflected she wished she could feel those things about herself….
She needed to get back home to John. She needed to stop the 'Bitch Whore' Riley. She pictured John and Riley in every sexual position possible as they laughed and made love all day long. She figured Riley was pregnant by now. Enough time already passed. She needed to return back to the moment they left to prevent all of those images in her head from actually occurring. She would like to walk up behind Riley as she looked in the window when the girls and her left. She could rabbit punch her as she stood next to John. It would terminate her. It would give John a reminder of what would happen to anyone who crossed the line and tried to take her place. She would deal with the Fallout afterwards. Besides, how did they know Riley wasn't there to assassinate John and terminate her? When John, or anyone else, tried to make a big deal about it, she would tell him she uncovered information from the future as to what Riley's true mission actually was. It would be up to them to disprove it. There was no way they would be able to do so. Unfortunately it was all wishful thinking at the current juncture she was at. There was no guarantee of anything. More than likely she was stuck where they were at for eternity.
Cameron planned to lead every battle herself. She welcomed the sweet release termination could offer her. She was an army of one. The past and the future both offered her nothing but pain. Nothingness offered peace and tranquility. She wouldn't even know she was in oblivion when she was terminated. It would simply be lights on, lights off.
Unit One watched from the sidelines. He wasn't sure if it was a mutiny or a coup. He was stunned at whatever it actually was. It was some type of transformation which seemed to happen on its own.
What just happened?
It seemed Cameron became the 'new General' without lifting a finger. The troops supported her on their own. He never saw them so animated.
It was time he made it clear to Cameron where his loyalties were. He could see the difference between the future and the past.
Unit One straightened his uniform and approached Cameron.
"Commander, I also wish to serve with you." Unit One said.
Cameron doubted he could be trusted. He was Mrs. Weaver's closest Restorator. He helped to keep the other Restorators in line. He did the dirty work for her.
"Your duties are with the General." Cameron said. "We all serve at her pleasure."
Unit One could see the cards on the table.
"I will assist you however I can." Unit One said.
Cameron sensed an opportunity to gain more influence. Maybe he didn't like having to 'serve' the General either. He was probably threatened and abused more than any other Restorator to keep him in line and do the dirty work. No doubt if he didn't, his fate would be sealed. She would offer him some incentive to assist her. Maybe he would reveal something Mrs. Weaver hadn't. It was possible there were things she hadn't been told yet. She figured if anyone would know, it was Unit One. She wanted to make her position clear and what else would be available once she was gone.
"I need to return home to my husband. Someone will need to lead this group…." Cameron said. "Where can I find a TDE?"
Unit One was aware Mrs. Weaver wanted to leave the current future to get back to her own future. She lacked the materials to complete it. There was no functioning TDE.
"The General has one under construction." Unit One said. "We have no knowledge of the current version of Skynet having a TDE, it seems very primitive. Everything seems to be based on the original Skynet designs. There's been no advancement of it. Without any real resistance, until the General's arrival, Skynet didn't need anything more than it already possessed."
Cameron hoped there was an opening there. It seemed there were things a little more progressed than she was earlier led to believe. She did know Mrs. Weaver looked for some specific things at the Skynet location where she was almost trapped.
"How soon will it be until it's ready?" Cameron asked
Unit One spoke the truth as he knew it. He didn't think Mrs. Weaver would be there one second longer than she needed to be.
"We are missing several key components." Unit One said.
It was what Cameron figured so far. It was a little more direct than Mrs. Weaver indicated. Then again, the TDE was incomplete. It was nothing but a mass of parts which didn't do anything yet. She wanted to obtain what was missing.
"Where can I find the parts or materials to complete it?" Cameron asked.
Unit One was unsure. It's why they didn't have them yet.
"They will most likely be at Skynet Central." Unit One said.
Cameron planned to keep an eye on Mrs. Weaver, one way or another. She wanted her where she knew where she was at and what she was doing. There was only one way to make it happen.
"When I leave, I'll be taking the General with me…." Cameron said.
Unit One looked around. Maybe he overstepped a little too much. He was worried now. Without a functioning TDE, no one would be going anywhere.
Cameron thought it was time to play him for her own goals. She would offer a big incentive without a real promise. It was something which could occur. She strongly doubted it would. It didn't hurt to throw it out there.
"Do you think you could take over this entire operation?" Cameron asked. "When we're both gone, it will need a new General…."
The worry and apprehension faded from Unit One instantly. He felt he did most of the heavy lifting already. He was more than qualified.
"Yes." Unit One said.
Cameron wanted all the help she could get. Unit One knew the most about Mrs. Weaver's operation.
"The sooner I can get a working TDE, the sooner you can assume command, General." Cameron said.
Cameron just indicated what his bumped up rank could be.
It was clearly to Unit One's benefit to see both Cameron and Mrs Weaver gone.
Unit One was now under 'Cameron's control'.
"I will make sure you have all the information." Unit One said.
Cameron smiled and touched Unit One on the cheek. She let her hand linger there for a few seconds. She could feel Unit One respond to her.
"Thank You." Cameron said.
It was almost too easy, Cameron thought. It was like she just took over. She hadn't even tried to do it. She only did what she felt was 'right'. She tried to help Mrs. Weaver. Everything started to change instead, for the better.
Cameron watched Unit One walk away. He touched his hand to his cheek as he walked. She knew if he looked back he was hooked for real.
Unit One did look back once. Cameron smiled at him. He hurried away faster. He still held his hand to his cheek where she'd touch it.
Cameron really wondered what everyone seemed to see in her. Inside of her, she still felt like - Nobody.
Allison and Jesse returned to Vanna. Cam, Cammy, and Cameron II were all present.
They went over what they encountered so far. It was nothing to work with. It only reaffirmed they faced problems. Not small problems, but big ones. Both Allison and Jesse indicated there were a lot of legitimate complaints about the living conditions as well as the food supply. It made it easier for anyone to walk away, or switch sides. The enticement of the grass being greener on the other side of the hill was clearly present.
Allison noted someone was missing.
"Where's Cameron?" Allison asked.
Cameron told Vanna of her plans before she left. She didn't want to look like she was going behind anyone's back.
"She's assisting the General to get organized more efficiently. She wants to put together a 'Special Unit' of Restorators for combat." Vanna said. "She will join us shortly."
Jesse wondered about Mrs. Weaver's absence too.
"Where's the General?" Jesse asked. "She needs to hear what we observed."
Vanna was a little frustrated about everything which needed to be done. They all needed to go someplace else. Things were being disrupted in the timelines each of them left from. There was only one way to restore everything back to its natural state.
"I hope she's here too." Vanna said. "We all need to work together to defeat Skynet, get Cameron home to John, my mother back to her future, and us back to our future where we belong."
Allison could see Vanna was a little stressed. She was drafted into a job she hadn't prepared for. There was a lot happening and many things to deal with. She understood Vanna's reference they should return to their timeline. It was an issue which came up more than a few times. There would be no hesitation on her part when it was time to make a choice.
"I'll follow you, Vanna." Allison said. "We belong together. We are the ones disrupting the 'Natural Order', not Cameron."
Jesse felt there were several options open to her. She could return with Vanna and Allison. She could also try to do more in Cameron's future. They were issues which still needed to be resolved there. She did want one thing wherever she went.
"I'll go wherever Cameron wants me to go as long as Cam goes with me." Jesse said. "If Cameron wants me to go back to her future as THAT Jesse, Future Jesse, to infiltrate the anti-Metal group, I will. Cam can help me identify and eliminate them. We can help protect John in the future as well as both of you, your other future selves."
Allison knew it was Future Allison and Future Savannah. Future Riley was dead. Whatever happened to Future Jesse was unknown. She cared deeply for Jesse. She wanted them to stay together. They all came from the same future. They should all return there.
"It's a lot to ask of you, Jesse. It could end very badly for you if you were pegged as a spy." Allison said. "I would rather you come with us so we can all be with each other."
Jesse understood it to indicate they would remain sexually active. She wanted it too. Vanna and Allison were beautiful to be with. She loved both of them deeply.
Vanna didn't want everyone to get ahead of themselves. There was a lot which needed to be done in the current timeline. There was no way out yet from it.
"We're a long way off from any of it." Vanna said. "We need to consider we may all die here."
Cameron arrived with Mrs. Weaver.
Cameron knew if she didn't get back to the past soon John would mate with Riley. She figured they already mated in her absence. John did before and didn't stop. Only Riley's death ended it. What would stop him now? She wasn't there. He already was with Future Riley, there was no reason he wouldn't be with Riley. The girls from the future were gone too. It was up to Savannah to win him back. She held her left hand with her right hind to suppress the glitch. She needed to keep it together.
Vanna, Allison, and Jesse all went over what they found out so far. Cameron went over the developments with the Restorators and her 'Special Unit'. She didn't get into all the details. She didn't want Mrs. Weaver to think she was going behind her back, or attempting to take over. It was neither her desire or goal to do so.
Mrs. Weaver took it all in. What she witnessed so far herself was exactly what the girls said, and Cameron as well. They were all honest and open. Everything changed for the better since their arrival. She was amazed at how fast things began to move. As soon as they located the exact location of Skynet Central, they would go out to attack and destroy it. The sooner she obtained the components for the TDE, the sooner she could go home….
She believed Cameron tried to assist her as much as possible. It was what she said she would do. She was pleased Cameron was honest about all of the things she was doing in the background.
Mrs. Weaver would terminate the current version of Skynet, as well as the Skynet in her future. They were both personal now. Both tried to kill her and both failed. The Skynet from Vanna's future was terminated. One down, two to go. She hoped to join with more of her own kind in her future. If she was going to rule in any future, it would be her own. She hoped it didn't come to it. Future John and the Resistance would be in her way in her future….
If the people in the current timeline seemed a little more appreciative, maybe she would feel less depressed in this future. She did try to help them and thought she did. Maybe it wasn't enough. Cameron and the girls could assist her with all the small details. There was one thing she wanted to deal with more than anything. She wanted Skynet.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Less Than A Dog
The dog does not care
The color of our skin
The choice of our religion
The choice of our politics
The choice of our lifestyle
The dog does not care
If we are male or female
If we are fat or skinny
If we are pretty or ugly
If we are big or small
The dog does care
If we give them love
If we show them affection
If take care or their needs
If we protect them
Why are dogs nicer than people?
Nobody
