Post S4 Mid-Season Finale. Spoilers abound. Well...I'm back, for now. Everything I write comes back to Caryl, eventually, but this will likely include POVs other than theirs as well. All is scattered, and pieces are missing. Can the group ever be whole again? Can their hearts ever recover?

Rae is the smartass 'adopted daughter' of Daryl Dixon, and they are living peacefully with the Greenes, Rick, and Daryl's pregnant girlfriend, Saphira, but when a supply run goes wrong, Rae is taken hostage by none other than the Governor. Spoilers for the first half of S4. The fear in her eyes was evident, but most importantly it was her radiant beauty that he saw. Because of everything that they had been through and everything they were still meant to go through, Glenn knew that his love for Maggie would only grow stronger.

So I decided to write a oneshot of Merle finding a girl, I thought it would be fun to do a story from his perspective. Its rated M due to the Dixons language and suggestive content. This is a DarylxBeth story which takes place after a one shot I wrote. The one shot was basically about them sharing a bottle of whiskey one night over a camp fire on Hershels farm and this story is just the consequences of that night. There's a better summary in chapter 1! :)

Will she always be a participant observer or will she "go native"?

As the world ends and the dead rises, Glenn finds himself at the mercy of a strong headed redneck. Who doesn't appear to be as bad as he wants Glenn to believe.

Rick loses his right hand and it reminds Daryl a little too much of Merle.
