Chapter 365
Special Visit
Ally and Sheila were worried Cameron was missing. They were afraid she was dealing with some of the scum in the 'underworld' of crime. It included the drug and sex traffic trade. They were all future Scavengers. Cameron tried to eliminate them as often as possible. Her preferred way was to pit them against each other. By the time the two groups finished with each other, she only needed to vanquish the victor. It made her job much simpler and more efficient.
One of the bad things about it was the sex traffickers wanted to keep the girls alive and undamaged. Some of them used cattle prods or stun guns on them to discipline them. One of those devices could have been used on Cameron to incapacitate her. She could have also been at a Skynet related facility and been deactivated there. They didn't know, so they ran down the closet sex traffickers.
Normally they would 'dress appropriately' for such an operation to get 'picked up' to get inside without any shooting. Today they would go straight in the front door as Terminators.
They parked a block away and headed for the front door of a 'Massage Parlor'. It was time to pay them a special visit.
There was a bouncer at the front entrance. Ally distracted him and made him look off to the side. Sheila moved up behind him. She rabbit punched him in the back of the neck and snapped his spine. He fell in a heap of dead flesh on the floor. Ally jumped the counter and snapped the neck of the guy behind the register.
Sheila moved up and crashed through the door to the inside. There were two more thugs. They were both dead in two seconds.
Ally pulled an M9 and covered the back area. So far they were mostly silent without any gunfire.
Sheila entered the office area. She grabbed the 'boss' by the throat and lifted him in the air. She then slammed him down hard on the ground and started to question him. She held his throat to prevent him from screaming.
Ally moved from room to room to physically check for Cameron. There was a naked female in each of the rooms. There was also a male and every one of them. They were all customers. In one of the rooms, there were two of them.
"Come with me if you want to leave." Ally said.
The females grabbed their clothes and followed her. If any of the men protested, they were punched hard in the chest. Some of them were probably dead. The others were incapacitated. She let the females out the back. They dressed as they ran away. Some of them needed to help the others. It seemed as if a few of them may have been drugged to make them more compliable.
Sheila was unable to get any useful information out of the boss. She snapped his neck and rejoined with Ally.
They headed back to their SUV and drove off to the next location. They would take them down one at a time and then start on the drug operations. They would leave a path of Terminator destruction behind them. They did what they were designed to do, infiltrate and terminate. They wanted Cameron back. Nothing would stop them.
Ally and Sheila headed towards the second location. They checked with the Command Center as well as with CamNet. There were no additional updates or any information at all.
"What do you think is going on here?" Ally asked.
Sheila would have liked to have possessed a little more information.
"Unfortunately we don't know at what point Cameron went off the grid." Sheila said. "You know what I mean."
Ally did know what she meant. Cameron often went off on her own because she didn't want to endanger others.
"I'm sure she was after a specific target." Ally said. "At least it's probably how it started out. We know how all these operations can be all over the place. It's usually because someone in the group is trying to screw someone else over, or working for a different group. It's all about money for all of them. The human lives they leave as wreckage along the way means nothing to them."
Sheila wasn't so sure it didn't mean anything to some of them.
"I'm sure the two minutes they spend with the different females is the only thing which matters to them." Sheila said. "Once they've done their business, the female is back to being nothing. They're simply an object for them to generate some type of revenue, as well as a few minutes of personal gratification."
Ally wasn't in the mood for games. They neared the second location
"It's just about time for us to get some personal gratification." Ally said.
Sheila was actually disappointed they didn't have more time. She hadn't even been able to use her knife. It was something she normally did at the sex trafficking operations. They were usually the individuals who deserved her handiwork the most.
"I'm going to have to settle for snapped necks and crushed skulls." Sheila said.
They parked a couple of blocks away from the second location. They didn't have time to waste.
When they were a block away from the location, Ally reached out her hand and stopped Sheila.
"Check out the car on the other side of the street down seven buildings." Ally said.
Sheila looked. It was a dark sedan.
"It's either some agency of law enforcement, or a rival group." Sheila said.
Ally quickly checked with CamNet. There was no law enforcement activity in the area.
"It looks like it's a negative on the Heat." Ally said.
Sheila knew they needed to deal with the new threat now.
"Let's take them down first." Sheila said. "I don't want to tip our hand too early for another group. The last thing we need is a reception committee. We still don't know if any of them have Cameron, and if they do, how they took her down. We could end up the same way if anyone knows we're coming."
Ally and Sheila went back two blocks and crossed the street. They made their way through a back alley. When they came around the corner, the black sedan was gone.
"Damn." Ally said. "I wonder what they were up to."
Sheila didn't know. They were at the second location to do a job.
"Maybe we'll run into them later on." Sheila said. "Right now we've got a building to clean out."
Ally was more than ready.
"Let's go." Ally said.
The Metal girls made their way across the street and headed straight for the front door. It was time to pay the next establishment a special visit, 'Terminator style'.
Cameron's eyes opened. She attempted to look around. There was only darkness. She wasn't sure where she was at. She could hear background noise. The room was dark. She tried to use her night vision, but it didn't seem to help. It didn't function. In fact, it seemed a lot of things weren't working right now. She wasn't sure what was wrong or why.
She reached up to touch her face but couldn't. Somehow her arms and hands couldn't move. It seemed her whole body couldn't move. More systems came back online.
Cameron listened. She could hear whimpering around her. She was in the presence of others. It briefly reminded her of the interrogations she conducted. Except it seemed she was the one who was about to be interrogated.
She tried to remember what happened. She couldn't. It seemed she couldn't even remember what the last thing she remembered was. She didn't like the darkness and not knowing what was happening.
It slowly began to come back. She remembered she wanted to send all the people she loved back into the past so they could live their lives as other people do. So they could have lives. They would be free of the burden of Skynet. It would be a time before Skynet could exist. There would still be plenty of other troubles in the world, Skynet wouldn't be one of them. They wouldn't need to look over their shoulder or worry about when Judgment Day would occur.
She would then gather the Terminators and go back to the future, her future. They would fight Skynet there. She knew it was the thing to do. Everyone would be safe for once, for real. There would be no threat from Skynet in the past. There would be no Terminators, of any type, in their lives. It would all be in their future.
Cameron realized she was only partially dressed. Her top was off. It irritated her. Why was her top off? It felt like her underwear and pants were still on. She didn't know why she was only half dressed.
There was some movement around her.
Cameron felt someone touch her. They were female hands. They were small and cold. She tried to speak but nothing happened. She was able to formulate words, but unable to activate her speech capability.
"You're awake now." A female voice said. "Don't try to move, they have you chained down."
'Chained down? Why am I chained down?' Cameron wondered.
Cameron tried to speak again. The words slowly modulated. Her voice was metallic to start out, but soon her normal voice returned as she spoke.
"Where am I?" Cameron asked. "Who are you?"
Cameron realized they were moving. She was in something which was moving. It was a train or a truck. It took her a few more seconds to hear the engine and road noise. She was in the back of a truck. It didn't seem like a big rig. She could hear the sound of a driveshaft below her. It was probably a smaller box truck.
The female was a little shocked at the first few words from Cameron, but the voice was soon soft and sweet.
"We're being transported to our next location. They stopped and picked you up from a car accident. They said you would bring top dollar." The small voice said. "I'm a prisoner too."
'Prisoner, why was she a prisoner?' Cameron wondered.
Cameron felt the small hands touch her head. She could see again. She was blindfolded. Her vision routines continued to come back online. In fact all of her systems were almost back to normal. She scanned herself. She was at ninety-six percent. It was pretty close to one hundred percent. She knew there was someone who was going to need to answer some questions. She planned to ask them Terminator style.
She slowly looked around. She was in a truck which was moving. It was as she suspected. She was in the back of a box truck. The truck was dimly lit. Light entered from the poor fitting rear door and a loose panel high up on the side. The truck probably hit a tree branch once and pooped the rivets loose. The ride was very rough and the truck seemed to bounce around a lot. The driver was speeding.
Cameron looked around inside. There were three females in the back with her. They were all chained as well. Her gaze focused on the closest female to her. The slim female gave her a faint smile.
"I was able to slip my hands out of my shackles." The slim female said. "I have small hands."
Cameron saw the slim female's feet were still bound. She was bound too.
She flexed her arms and the chain snapped. She slipped it off, her hands were now free.
The slim female's eyes widened.
"How did you do that?" The slim female asked.
Cameron didn't want to get into any details. She needed to know more. It could all be a ploy to get her to 'talk'. Similar tactics were used during interrogations to mislead prisoners as to what their actual status was. She decided to keep it simple.
"I work out." Cameron said.
Cameron reached down and snapped the chain off her feet. She was free. The slim female already saw what she did. She then carefully snapped the chain on the slim female. She was free now as well.
The slim female watched Cameron with awe. She tried for hours to free her leg from the chain. It was solid steel. She just watched the new prisoner snap it like it was a rotten twig. She really didn't see how.
"That's impossible." The slim female said.
Cameron used the same reply many times. She decided to give the slim female a plausible explanation and reason as well. Normally she would threaten the person who challenged her. She didn't think she was in a position to threaten anyone until she knew a little more.
"If it's impossible, how did I just do it?" Cameron asked. "It's probably cheap metal. They import a lot of it now. Former communist nations, and third world countries, are not known for quality control. They figure once they export something, it's the buyer's problem. Things were better when they were made locally."
The slim female saw what she saw. Maybe what the new girl said was true. How else could it have happened? Either way she was free. The new girl was fit and in good shape. She was beautiful too. There were some other girls as well in the truck with them.
"What about them?" The slim female asked.
Cameron moved over and carefully freed the other two females.
She found out they were being sold into the sex trafficking trade. The other three females were all runaways. They all told her they were abused multiple times already.
Cameron was worried about it. She began to run internal scans to see how many times she was abused and where…. All of the scans came back negative. There weren't any fresh male 'deposits' inside of her. She wanted to be sure. She reached down with her hand to do a physical check as well. No foreign residue was detected.
She wanted to be sure. She didn't know how long she was a prisoner for. She asked the females if she was abused as well. The three females told her not since she was picked up from the roadside accident. They didn't know about anything before then. They said she was unconscious the whole time. The truck was in a hurry. They were behind schedule.
Cameron touched her naked torso. She didn't detect any bruising or other damage. She was unsure why her top was off, other than for someone to inspect her. They most likely fondled her as they did. As soon as she found out who was responsible, they would be terminated for such a grievous infraction.
The ride in the back of the truck was very rough. She was sure the truck picked up speed. She glanced up towards the roof of the box section where the light came through at.
Cameron reached up and pulled the loose panel on the side of the truck back a little bit more to try to see out. More rivets popped out as she bent the thin sheet metal. They were in the countryside. It was a very arid and dry looking landscape. It looked like the middle of 'nowhere'.
"Where are we?" Cameron asked.
The slim female lost track of time and distance in the bumpy ride in the back of the truck.
"I don't really know. I was in New Mexico when they took me." The girl said. "These two were already here. They found you a few hours after they took me."
Cameron didn't like it in the back of the truck. She wanted more light and to see where they were at a little better.
"Wait here." Cameron said.
She went to the back of the truck and yanked up on the door. The metal on the latch bent a little, there was enough room for her foot to kick it. It popped out of the catch. The door rolled up.
Cameron jumped up and grabbed the lip of the truck roof to pull herself up. She could see the astonished look on the female's faces as she pulled herself up. Maybe she should have looked around for her top first. It didn't matter to her, she needed to act. She was on the top of the truck's box section. She looked around the surrounding area. There were no other cars visible. It looked like grazing land around them, no animals were visible.
The other three females watched. They found what they just witnessed hard to believe. They would soon see more things happen behind the moving truck. They heard Cameron's footsteps on the roof of the truck above them.
Cameron stood and walked along the roof of the truck to the front. She jumped down on the driver's side and opened his door. There was a look of disbelief on his face. She pulled the driver out and flung him to the pavement as the truck sped along. His body bounced and tumbled along the highway. She moved in and took the driver's seat. She grabbed the passenger and slammed his head into the dashboard. It dented the metal. He was dead.
Cameron slowed the truck and turned it around. She drove back to the man she threw out. He was still alive, but busted up pretty bad.
The three females were all scared. They saw the body tumble along the pavement behind the truck and now they drove back to where it was. They all thought it was the topless girl at first. It wasn't.
Cameron went to the back of the truck.
"Come with me if you want to live." Cameron said to the three females.
She spotted their clothes in the back. She asked the females to move up to the cab of the truck after they all finished dressing. She put her top back on. She noticed the way the other females looked at her as she did. She couldn't help but think about what the slim female said. The other three were all abused previously. She wasn't sure why she was spared.
Cameron tossed both of the men in the back of the box truck after she snapped the injured man's neck. She went through their pockets to see what intel she could gather. She pulled down the door and bent the metal back into shape to hold it closed.
The other two females hadn't said much. It was clear they were drugged at some point. One was a little worse off than the other. Now with the prospect of freedom and hope at hand, they were a little more aware.
"Who are you?" One of the other females asked.
Cameron figured where the females were headed. She looked them over a little further. It could be a plane to Southwest Asia. They all were thin young blondes. They brought top dollar in those areas. She wondered if she was photographed, and the two men in the truck's handlers told them not to abuse her because they thought they could get even more money for her if they didn't. As to exactly who she was, she wasn't about to tell them.
"I'm the person who just gave you a second chance at life." Cameron said. "Leave it at that."
The females told Cameron their names. She lied about hers. She told them her name was Cindy. It was the name she used at the bar near the Diablo Power Plant. She was very pleased with her winnings from the pool game she played there. She always liked to teach the champ a new lesson. She planned to do the same thing with the thugs in charge of the sex trafficking operation. They were smug in their ability to abuse females. They were about to find out there was a new sheriff in town.
She noticed the one female who was drugged the most looked back towards the box section of the truck. There was no way to see into it from the cab.
"Those two men…?" One female asked. "Were they…."
Cameron could see the females were traumatized enough. She dealt with females like them all the time in her efforts to break up the local sex trade in the Valley. The story was almost always the same. The females were runaways. The majority of them were drug users. Once they were hooked on drugs, things got sketchy real fast. They were soon in a stable turning tricks for drugs. Females who were abducted from off the street, were usually chained to a bed. The females were expected to perform for, and service, twenty to thirty men a day. It was everyday of the week. Most soon 'gave up' and succumbed to the lifestyle. The daily dose of drugs was all they lived for. None of the females once they were free wanted to go to the police. Only one out of five went back home. The other four remained hooked on drugs. Two of the four were soon back in a stable. She freed some females three or four times. All of them were diseased with multiple types of STDs.
She couldn't help but think about the future. It was one thing Skynet did which helped the Resistance as much as it hurt it. It unleashed a virus in the second wave of attacks on humans. It killed every human with any pre-existing medical condition, or any diseases. It insured the survival of the fittest. Skynet wanted healthy workers for the work camps. Everyone over thirty was often terminated when they were captured. The females in the future who suffered the abuse were never given any diseases because of the move by Skynet. The diseased were already dead. She decided to keep it simple.
"They're unconscious." Cameron said. "I'll take them to the police after I let you off. I take it none of you wants to deal with the police?"
They didn't. They were usually wanted for petty crimes such as shoplifting. It wasn't a big deal, it was just a hassle to go through the process. They would be let go without the need to post bail with the controversial policies of the new DA.
Cameron divided the money the men carried between the three females.
One female noticed Cameron didn't even take a dollar for herself.
"What about you?" One female asked. "Don't you need any money?"
There were some prearranged contingency plans in place for Cameron, for just such a scenario as this. It was for all of the Resistance members actually.
"No. I have some friends who can come and get me." Cameron said.
Cameron wouldn't have any trouble acquiring money, vehicles, or weapons if she needed them. She would simply take what she wanted. No one would be able to stop her.
They entered a small town and Cameron let the females out at a bus station. She told them to go back home and rethink their lives, or the same thing would happen again. She told them it is how they would end up dying.
"It's best if none of you ever 'remember' any of this or me." Cameron said. "I'm going to the police. I'll tell them I was alone. There will be an investigation."
Cameron made sure they bought tickets and boarded the next bus. She watched the bus drive away with them. She hoped they would return to their homes but doubted it. At least they were safe for now. She knew someone could lead a horse to water, but they couldn't make it drink. She hoped the females would wise up. If even one of them returned home, it would be a plus. She hoped it was at least the female who initially assisted her.
The two men only carried only one cell phone between them. It was the driver. The phone was damaged as the driver tumbled along the pavement. She used a pay phone and called a 'drop number'. She left a message for Sheila and Ally. She figured they would be looking for her in the underworld. The team would be worried about her as well.
She was going to be busy there for a short time before she returned home. She was able to gather enough intel from the documents the two men carried as to where the truck was headed, and where it previously visited. She planned to pay a special visit to each of those locations.
Cameron went over the papers again the men carried on them. There was a map with marking in pen. She was going to pay more than a few people a special visit. She found two pistols, a bag with several types of narcotics, and a list of locations. The truck's gas tank was half full of fuel so she decided to use it. The thugs would know it at the locations. It wouldn't raise an alarm initially. When they realized it wasn't their crew driving it, it would already be too late for them…. She figured she could fit quite a few bodies in the back of the truck, she smiled as she drove.
She was bothered because someone removed her top. There was going to be a price paid for it by someone. She was glad she wasn't abused while she was incapacitated.
Cameron wondered why she was there. It was the middle of nowhere. It seemed she was missing a few days of time. What was the 'accident' the females referred to she must have been in? Why was she even out there in the first place? There must have been a reason. What was it?
'Green Onions' by 'Booker T And The MG's', played on the radio as Cameron set out to seek retribution for whoever was behind what happened to her.
NOBODY touches her….
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Special Visit
When one rolls life's dice
It is very easy to lose
When they're are many
From which to choose
Everyone is an unknown
Time is what will prove
Who they really are inside
What they do will behoove
It's been stated more than once
That birds of a common feather
Like human beings in general
Tend to flock and stick together
The rough and cruel crowd
With each other will congeal
When the true creature is exposed
One will know what is fake or real
If one has chosen well
They will soon enough know it
The one that they wanted and picked
Will return often for a special visit
Nobody
