Chapter 392

New DNA

John and John Henry heard the fighting break out. They were able to watch it now from the drone footage. Once the hostile Terminators were down, John Henry dropped the altitude of one drone for a quicker response. The other one at altitude continued to search for any other HK drones which might approach.

John Henry was still troubled they didn't detect the other HK drone until Cameron reported hearing it. It shouldn't have been able to get so close undetected. John speculated it may have been launched locally. He wanted the teams on the ground to know there was air support ready to act.

"One drone is ready to strike. The other is in reserve." John Henry said. "Where do you want the missiles? I have all of your locations noted."

Ally couldn't tell the full nature of the threat. She could only tell where some shooting originated from.

"I have a group trying to break out from below ground." Ally said. "They are about one hundred feet in front of me. I'm facing the north and my M4 is pointed at the location. It's where the wall is collapsed on top of a truck."

John Henry moved the drone around for a better firing angle solution. It was still somewhat obscured.

"I see the spot. I'm going to put a missile in the opening." John Henry said. "I have it locked up."

Ally took some more enemy fire. It came closer to hitting her this time. She wanted them to have a special 'gift package' from her, just so they knew she was thinking about them.

"Do it." Ally said. "They almost hit me with gunfire the last time."

Summer joined Ally. She looked for any counter attack. She wanted to make sure it wasn't a diversion.

"I don't see anyone else around us other than Cameron." Summer said.

John Henry was satisfied the Metal girls were behind sufficient cover.

"One missile has been fired." John Henry said.

Ally spotted someone move away from the spot seconds before the missile impacted. They fell down but got back up and kept running. It may have been a Terminator, but she didn't think so.

"Someone is out." Ally said. "They may have taken some shrapnel. They're moving at a good pace."

Summer spotted the running figure. She looked over at Ally.

"You stay here. I'm going after them." Summer said.

More firing resumed from the demolished opening. Ally calculated a better firing angle after the last blast. The remains of the collapsed wall and the truck were both out of the way.

Ally was worried about two things now. One was the renewed gunfire where the missile just hit. The other was Summer off on her own. It didn't take her long to remember she was on her own as well. It was just the way things were sometimes.

"Hit it again. I think our drone should drop down several thousand feet so it has a flatter line of fire. Change the angle of the trajectory to twenty three degrees more to the north." Ally said. "Have the other drone track Summer and her target. I'm not sure what she's after. It's possible it's a Terminator. They got up after the last explosion. It looked like they took shrapnel in the back."

A second missile impacted a few seconds later as the drone repositioned itself. The missile went all the way inside the opening before it exploded this time.

John Henry could see the missile was better deployed with the last shot. He also tracked the fleeing figure with the second drone. The drone which fired its second missile closed in on the target as well.

"I'm tracking the moving target." John Henry said. "The first drone has moved into gun range."

Cameron hoped to catch a live one. She moved to intercept the running figure herself.

"I'm moving to assist Summer." Cameron said. "I can hear them coming towards me."

John Henry tracked the target with two drones. He was ready to respond with a missile or the minigun.

"I have a shot." John Henry said. "It's not a Terminator."

Cameron was glad to hear it wasn't a Terminator. She didn't have her Taser since she gave it to Summer. When she pulled the chips from the two Terminators, she saw both Tasers were there and were expended. The only one with a working Taser was Ally. She wasn't there. She wanted a prisoner.

"Hold your fire." Cameron said. "I'm ready for them."

Summer chased the target. The person turned to fire at her. She continued her advance and closed up on the person. She knocked the figure to the ground.

Cameron joined her a few seconds later. She reached down, grabbed the rolling figure and held them. It was a female. She moved her hand up and grasped her neck. She looked into her eyes as she choked the figure out slowly, her eyes glowed red.

She ripped the female's shirt open and then off. She used it to tie her up. She exposed the woman's topless form. She liked what she saw. She would inspect her further for any other 'damage' elsewhere. She didn't want another 'incomplete' test subject. Past experience showed her not all of the females from the future still possessed everything they were born with. Scavengers were responsible for most of the involuntary excisions. It reminded her she needed to thin the herd of future Scavengers in her spare time. She didn't have much of it.

Summer was about to snap the female's neck. She took it personally when the female shot at her.

Cameron made sure CamNet blocked their communications and what she did on the ground.

"Don't terminate her." Cameron said. "I want her alive."

Summer quickly looked at Cameron. She knew certain things were forbidden. She felt she needed to remind Cameron of the rules.

"Savannah said no more testing." Summer said.

Cameron scanned the female as she further inspected her body. She didn't want Summer to get caught up in specifics. She wouldn't have any oversight.

"Savannah isn't here for a few days." Cameron said. "There shouldn't be a problem."

Cameron liked what she looked at. The female was young and well built, with long black hair. She didn't think the female was from the future. Her body seemed too healthy looking. There were no signs of abuse or sickness.

Summer didn't like the way Cameron looked at the captive.

"What do you want with her?" Summer asked.

Cameron glanced at Summer and went back to inspecting the female.

"I want her body." Cameron said.

Summer looked at Cameron and nodded. This wasn't the place to have an argument. There was still some more fighting at hand. They already dealt with three separate threats. It was possible there were more.

John Henry was unaware of the conversation Cameron and Summer just discussed. He recalled the crew of the Blackhawk and instructed them of their mission. They took off a short time ago. He knew there was an HK drone to retrieve. He wanted to let those on the ground know what was happening.

"The Blackhawk is on its way." John Henry said.

Cameron looked over at the disabled manned drone. There was no sign of any activity once she ripped most of the wiring out. She didn't think it would be a problem going forward when they attempted to restore it. They would probably go back and rewire everything in a more efficient and superior manner. It would be modified as were the four drones they previously captured. She took in the size of the captured drone

"It will be a heavy lift." Cameron said. "It's a large drone."

John Henry dispatched a Mike Force with the Blackhawk when he sent it out again. He didn't know what the extent of the fighting would be. He tried to give a diplomatic answer so he didn't offend Cameron and her abilities.

"There are four Terminators on board." John Henry said. "I thought they may be needed to assist with any 'mop up' activity."

Cameron didn't think a few extra boots on the ground would hurt anything in the current situation. She didn't want to tax the Blackhawk with extra weight.

"I will procure ground transportation for them." Cameron said. "You'll need to lighten the load."

John Henry wondered how heavy the manned drone was.

"It will be so." John Henry said. "Ally has new targets as well."

Cameron heard the minigun from their drone fire behind her. There must be additional opposition where Ally was at still.

"Has anyone else made it out?" Cameron asked. "Have any more enemy drones been spotted? It's my biggest worry currently. We were able to get a break on the last one since it appeared it was going to pick up one of the Terminators. If it would have been in an attack mode, it most likely would have spotted one of us."

John Henry did a wider scan. He would be able to give them some additional air support. The drone which returned was rearmed and left with the one that arrived with Savannah earlier.

"No other HK drones have been detected." John Henry said. "Two more of our drones are on the way."

Cameron wanted to collapse the opening and entomb whoever was still inside the lower level of the burnt out facility. Her main concern now is about Ally.

"Has there been any new development at the breakout point?" Cameron asked. "I think our best course of action is to use the missiles on the drone. Our other two drones are on the way along with the Blackhawk."

Ally didn't see any need to wait. She believed what was currently there in drone support would suffice. She calculated the best method of attack.

"Use the second drone here and hit the opening again with both missiles." Ally said. "Fire the heat seekers right after the first two hit. They'll have a good heat source. I believe the explosive force, as well as the shrapnel, will take care of any survivors."

There was a massive four part explosion. It was all part of the same fireball three seconds later.

Cameron checked with Ally. She wanted the threat ended. Everything was quiet for now.

Summer retrieved the SUV. Cameron and her loaded the two Terminators in the back of it. The female prisoner regained consciousness.

Cameron securely bound her. She also gagged her. She was afraid if the woman started screaming, she would rip her tongue out. In fact when she did terminate her, depending upon the threats and insults, the method was exactly what she would use. She reached forward and choked the woman out again. She blindfolded her as well. She ripped the rest of her clothing off and completed the 'inspection'. The woman was perfect for her plans…. She checked in with Ally one more time.

Ally was satisfied with the inactivity after the massive explosion.

"It's all quiet here." Ally reported. "There's no activity or movement."

Cameron wasn't sure things were wrapped up there yet. The enemy waited a long time before they attempted their breakaway. She was sure it was because of the two Terminators. If they told the others to wait, they would have needed to listen. Anyone who didn't listen would have their neck snapped almost instantly. She didn't believe any survivors would be as patient as they were before. They didn't know the size of the force they faced. They did know if they remained where they were at, they weren't going to survive.

"Keep watching." Cameron said. "Keep scanning. There's no way to know what else will happen."

Cameron sent Summer to find a usable vehicle from the ones the Grays used in the compound.

Summer didn't like leaving the action behind. She didn't have to go far to where there were several vehicles. She didn't like what she found when she arrived. It looked as if most of them were damaged. She found one which appeared to be operable. she reported she found a serviceable one and would bring it to the rendezvous point.

A pair of their drones approached a few minutes later. John Henry wanted to alert them to their presence before they arrived.

"Two more of our drones will reach your area very soon." John Henry said. "One is at five thousand feet. The other one is at fifteen thousand feet. It gives us a good overview of the area."

Cameron wanted a wider view of things. She hoped to be able to do more than just respond to a threat. She wanted to find the threat first.

"Send the first two drones out on patrol. They're under armed at this point. Look for any air activity." Cameron said. "I don't like how the manned drone slipped in here."

John Henry was about to recall the two depleted drones once the two fresh drones arrived. He reset their mission parameters. The Blackhawk was right behind the two replacement drones.

"The Blackhawk should arrive shortly." John Henry said.

Cameron listened. She could hear it in the distance.

Summer arrived in a dual cab 4X4 pickup truck. It was a nice truck.

"I can hear it." Cameron said. "I have ground transportation for our Terminators. They can meet the chopper at the secure location and start going over the manned drone once it's transported there. We need to make sure it's not traceable. I don't want anyone to track it."

John Henry checked the jamming field he enacted earlier.

"I'll dispatch additional personnel as well." John Henry said. "All jamming is still in full effect. There should be no communications able to enter our leave your current location other than ours."

Cameron gave John Henry a brief description of what she did to disable the drone as she made her way back to where it was located. She wanted to give it another once over.

She remained in constant contact with Ally and Summer for any changes or additional information.

Cameron disconnected the power source on the drone. It was completely dark. She checked again for any type tracking device. She was unable to find one. They would need to do a more detailed search at the secure location.

The Blackhawk hovered over the drone and four Terminators exited. They proceeded to attach cables to the drone. Once it was secured, the Blackhawk took up the slack, picked up the power, and lifted the drone off of the ground. It could make the lift with no problem.

"Let's get this thing out of here." Cameron said. "I've had enough fun for one night."

The Blackhawk gained some altitude and headed off to a secure location. The Four Terminators left in the 4X4. They offered to stay with Cameron's team. She declined the assistance. She wanted to try to keep her activity as clandestine as possible.

Cameron approached Ally.

"What's new?" Cameron asked.

Ally glanced over.

"Nothing has happened." Ally said.

Cameron looked over at the smoking mass. Maybe she would take a look herself.

"I'm going in." Cameron said.

Ally pointed at the rubble. The opening was gone.

"There's nothing to go into." Ally said. "The ground has collapsed."

Cameron looked over the area one last time and frowned. She would need to move a lot of debris, or dig her way in. It didn't appear it was possible for anyone else to exit. There could still be another way out. Any survivors might attempt to dig their way out at another spot. It seemed more efficient to leave one of their drones at the location. It would be able to cover a wider area and engage any threat which appeared on the ground or from the air.

"Let one fresh drone linger here." Cameron said. "The other one will accompany the copter. The two on recon can make a few more passes and return to base."

John wanted to know a little more. From the drone footage they spotted the Terminators Summer took down. Cameron didn't have much to say about them. He decided to prompt her a little to see what she said.

"Were you able to get any Terminators?" John asked.

Cameron ignored John. She was still a little worried about any more HK drones showing up undetected.

"As soon as the large drone is completely away from the area, we're out of here." Cameron said.

John looked at Bob and John Henry when she didn't answer his question. He figured Cameron was up to something again. They were unaware of the female prisoner Cameron apprehended as well. They thought the fleeing figure was terminated. CamNet blocked the 'personal' conversations of Cameron and her teammates. She also blocked any compromising drone footage of Cameron's questionable activities from the Command Center.

Ally and Cameron arrived at the SUV. It was already loaded by Summer.

"You sit in the front with Summer." Cameron said to Ally. "The three 'Bitches' will all ride in the back. Besides, I want to get to know my new friend. I think I'll call her - Nobody."

Cameron let out a laugh.

Summer and Ally glanced at each other but said nothing. They both knew Savannah was going to be furious if she found out about what Cameron intended to do. Word spread rapidly of the way Savannah stood up to Cameron over the last female 'test subject'. There was also a male Gray. Savannah said NEVER AGAIN. They knew she meant it too. No one ever 'told' Cameron what to do or not to do. This was going to cause a problem down the line once Savannah returned.

Cameron was unstoppable.

Cameron's team returned to Cameron's base. Cameron and Summer took care of the Terminators. Ally took the female prisoner away.

Ally briefly considered terminating her. She didn't want Cameron to go back on her promise to Savannah. She would say the prisoner attacked her and she acted reflexively and snapped her neck. It was basically what she did to the male Gray at a previous location. She didn't care for his mouth and the rude comments which came out of it. She really wondered if any of the people they took down really thought threats and insults were going to stop them from what they were going to do. It was the location where Savannah needed to terminate the other wounded Gray.

Cameron started the Resequencing process on the female Terminator's DNA.

Summer wondered what Cameron was up to at this point.

"Whose program are you going to use?" Summer asked.

Cameron didn't want to get into specifics.

"I want a clean program for both of them." Cameron said. "I don't have any more chips after this. It's a good thing only the chip from the female self destructed. You and Ally will review the chip from the male and then erase it. When you're finished, you will install a clean program."

Summer wanted to see how far Cameron would go and renege on her promise to Savannah.

"Are you going to 'start' on the Gray female?" Summer asked.

Cameron could see where Summer was 'headed'. She was one step ahead of all of them. It was a technicality issue to her.

"No. I'm going to have Sheila do it." Cameron said. "I don't want to break my promise to Savannah."

Summer frowned and shook her head slightly from side to side.

Cameron looked at Summer and smiled.

Summer wanted to point out Savannah didn't want anyone experimenting on humans, NOT just Cameron. It was the principle of the matter, not a literal interpretation. Cameron was skating on thin ice and a 'technicality'.

Cameron left Summer behind with a confused look on her face. She expected a challenge. It was weak from both Ally and Summer. She sought out Sheila. Sheila brought her up to speed on the TDE. There would be no further testing until everything was reviewed again.

She took Sheila to the female prisoner. She was still naked and unconscious. She lay sprawled on the ground. Sheila touched the female prisoner as she looked her over. It was clear Sheila was excited to have her.

"The female is yours." Cameron said.

Sheila's face instantly lit up. She moistened her lips lightly. It was clear she was filled with glee and anticipation.

"Do you mean for anything?" Sheila asked. "Whatever I want to do with her?"

Cameron could tell Sheila planned to severely abuse her in the process if it was just an interrogation. She saw Sheila's handiwork before. It was usually with people involved in the sex and drug trade. She now began to have second thoughts about the 'Neural Interface' and her promise to Savannah. Savannah mattered to her. She didn't want to let Savannah down.

Sheila could have the female as a 'play thing'. It reminded her of how she watched a cat catch a mouse before and 'play' with it until it finally killed it. It seemed the cat was able to derive more entertainment out of the mouse while it was alive. Every time the mouse attempted to run off, the cat would grab it again and savage it for a few seconds. The process went on over and over until the mouse was terminated.

"Yes. Question her until she has no useful information left and then terminate her." Cameron said. "You may do as you please with her for the interrogation, she will be terminated anyway."

Sheila was excited to hear it. Jesse may be 'reformed' but she wasn't. She was able to access Jesse's 'dark side'. She planned to explore it. The male she interrogated before got off easy for what she planned. She would know everything about the Bitch without the 'Neural Interface'. The only tools she would need were a hard fist and a sharp knife…. She possessed both of those items, and knew how to use them to their fullest extent.

To see how aroused Sheila was at the prospect of the interrogation made Cameron feel uncomfortable. She began to have second, third, and fourth thoughts about the whole thing. She knew she was about to spread the 'darkness' within Sheila, not extinguish it. She also wanted to keep Sheila obedient and appreciative.

"I'll know everything about her." Sheila said with a smile.

Cameron wanted to feel sorry for the female but couldn't. She threw her lot in with Skynet. It was her choice to turn her back on fellow humans, and the suffering and termination Skynet unleashed on them. It was exactly what Skynet planned to do again.

"I want her out of here before Savannah returns." Cameron said. "And any mess cleaned up."

Ally hadn't gone far. She wanted to see what Cameron would do and how far she would violate Savannah's 'command'. She saw the dodge around Cameron doing the 'dirty work' herself to allow Sheila to carve her up instead. She thought about what she needed to do with the two male Grays at the previous location. She didn't like what Cameron made Savannah do. She was actually glad she terminated the other Gray prior to Savannah's arrival. Cameron was very displeased there was only one Gray for Savannah to terminate. She knew what the rules were which Savannah laid down for Cameron.

"You don't wish to have Savannah execute her?" Ally asked.

Cameron was irritated by the question.

"No. Savannah knows she can kill when it's needed and WHY." Cameron said. "I've made my point."

They both knew Cameron didn't want to get caught with her hand in the 'cookie jar' of brutalizing another prisoner, even indirectly.

Cameron wanted to change the subject.

"I want to go over the new drone and see what we can find." Cameron said. "I need to review all our TDE data and try again in a few days."

Sheila wanted to know how long she could abuse the female. It would set the pace for her 'work'.

"When will Savannah be back?" Sheila asked.

Cameron looked at them and smiled. She was sure of what would happen in Australia.

"It all depends on how good of a saleswoman she is…." Cameron said.

Sheila and Ally wondered what Cameron meant….

Cameron knew Savannah was about to do her 'dirty work' of another kind for her. Now no one could point a finger at HER for what was about to happen related to the events.

She really didn't know how things would play out for sure, but she assisted with having everything needed in play.

Cameron loved it when a plan came together.

Closing monologue by Cameron:

New DNA

What makes a person
Who they really are
Is it only genetics
Is it something from afar

Maybe it's the environment
Perhaps how they were raised
They may have been praised
Or even turned out crazed

There are many factors
Like religion and culture
Some of those treat others
Like a circling vulture

How much is learned behavior
How much is home grown
The answer is very clear
In the actions they've shown

There are always times
No matter what one might say
Everyone would like a change
With some new DNA

Nobody
