Chapter 513

Say It

Cameron called off the raid and everyone returned back to the base. There were still some loose ends for her to tie up but she needed to wait until everyone was in bed. She listened outside Savannah's door as Cammy and Savannah shared before she slept. She was pleased to hear Savannah say 'Cameron' when she 'finished'.

She decided to satisfy John and get him asleep so she could get back out and go after the one Gray she'd left behind at the first location where they tried to ambush her.

Cameron carried John to their room and undressed him as he undressed her.

"Lay back and relax." Cameron said.

John was pleased that Cameron was in their bed naked right now. They didn't often get to share. Cameron always told him there were others and that he knew where Savannah's room was.

Cameron kissed him and moved her head lower.

"You're not ready yet." Cameron said.

John looked down. 'Little Willie' seemed pretty ready to him. It was at 'full attention'.

"Let me 'start you up'." Cameron said.

John gasped slightly as he watched Cameron start. His head fell back to the pillow and his back arched slightly.

He 'finished' in no time.

Cameron continued for a few more seconds.

John squirmed wildly on the bed.

Cameron liked the reaction. She slowed and stopped.

She lifted her head and wiped the back of her hand across her mouth. She then smiled at John.

She moved up over John's waist. There was a knee on each side of him.

"My turn…." Cameron said.

John was already spent. Things began to deflate.

"I think I'm going to need a few minutes." John said.

That was what Cameron wanted to hear.

"Lay back and rest." Cameron whispered.

She lay next to John. He was soon asleep. She carefully got up and collected her clothes. She left naked with them.

She passed Bob in the hall as she headed to the carpool.

"Nice night for a walk." Bob said.

Cameron smiled and kept going. She dressed once she was at her SUV. She put on her body armor and checked her weapons.

She noticed Bob look out the door from the base.

"I'm fine." Cameron said.

She got in her SUV and drove away.

Bob was going to alert John Henry and John. CamNet contacted him directly and told him to not worry about it. He knew when CamNet spoke, that everyone listened.

Cameron looked back to make sure she wasn't followed. CamNet contacted her and told her everything was taken care of.

She went back to the location where there was still one Gray. She checked the surveillance equipment and he was still alone.

Cameron parked a mile away and went in through the back fences of other businesses. Several dogs cowered in fear as she passed them. She soon reached the target location. She was still wary of an ambush. It didn't look like it this time. She forced open a door and entered. It made more noise than she would've liked. She expected to be meet with gunfire but there was none.

She searched for and confronted the Gray. He lowered his hand from his mouth and smiled at her. He didn't say anything. He made no move to run or get away from her. The smile faded from his face and he coughed once and then again. Pink frothy foam began to come out of his mouth and he fell over. She quickly check him over. He was dead. He'd taken poison.

Cameron searched the entire building and found the hidden room. It was empty. She tossed the dead Gray inside it. She collected whatever intelligence she could and left.

She didn't burn the building so she could see who else showed up.

Cameron wanted to take down the original location that she'd planned to attack earlier. She decided to wait at this point.

She wanted to get back to bed before John awoke. She still wanted - her turn.

Later on:

Previously the surveillance was set up at the Gray's location and the wait started. John Henry monitored all traffic going in and out. There was very little activity. A week passed.

John was antsy with the lack of any results. He wanted to act.

"So what have we come up with?" John asked.

There were only a few Grays. They didn't really go anywhere. Once they figured out their compatriots were terminated. They didn't go out at all.

"Not much." John Henry said. "It appears the strike Cameron led terminated most of the threats associated with this group."

John was surprise at what happened next.

Cameron arrived in the Command Center. She'd been gone for a few days. She was damaged. She didn't normally come around when her face was damaged. This was different. Something was different. It didn't look like anything good.

Cameron caught the tail end of the conversation.

"I haven't followed up on them yet." Cameron said. "I wanted to wait for further targets to develop. There were some other things I needed to take care of."

John looked at her face. The damage was in the process of healing. He wanted to ask about what happened but it always turned into an issue. She was back here now for a reason.

"I see you've conducted several other operations." John said. "Are you all right? Maybe Vanna can check you out if you don't want me to."

Cameron did carry out several operations during the week. Not all of them went as planned. The damage to her face was proof of that. It irritated her that John mentioned it.

"I've carried out the strike against my target I originally planned for the night Cammy and Savannah were attacked." Cameron said. "That threat has been eliminated."

John looked at the side of Cameron's face. It was almost healed.

Cameron turned away when she saw John look at her. She didn't like him to fuss over her and tell her what to do or not to do.

"I'm sorry." John said.

Cameron felt very self conscious right now. John made her feel shame if she wasn't perfect for him.

"I'll stop coming around here so you don't have to see me." Cameron said. "I'm unpleasant to look at. I don't look Tight like this."

Cameron wondered why she was even here. She came to the Resistance base for something. It was something of the utmost importance. It needed to de done right away. She tried to remember what it was.

John could see that Cameron looked confused. Something brought her here in this condition and it wasn't to see him.

"Cameron, I'm worried about you." John said.

John tried to get closer to her to see what else was damaged. He was sure there was more damage to her sheath elsewhere.

Cameron didn't like the way John looked at her. What did he think she was? She was tired of this game.

"Don't be." Cameron said. "We're Resistance fighters, nothing more."

John just looked at her. He was aware that anything he did or said at this point was going to be the 'wrong' thing.

Cameron looked back at him with a blank look on her face. There was something John said a few seconds ago, a name. It was something about a name like that. It was so familiar. She left without saying another word. She needed to get something. Maybe it was a book of some kind.

John and John Henry looked at each other - now what?

John went to go after her.

John Henry stopped him. He'd watched this 'rerun' dozens of times. This would be no different.

"You're only going to make it worse…." John Henry said.

John knew he was right. Cameron would disappear for who knew how long if he 'pushed' her.

John tried to call Savannah but there was no answer. He figured she must be 'busy'. It seemed the girls were always busy, if not with each other, then with the Metal girls.

Savannah finished her shower. She dried herself off as she entered her bedroom. She was going to get her clothes that she'd already laid out. She saw her bed was now made. She hadn't done that.

"Cammy?" Savannah asked as she looked around.

No answer.

There was something on her pillow.

Savannah stood there naked as she looked at it.

"No…." Savannah said softly as she picked it up.

It was Cameron's poem book.

Savannah picked it up and looked at it.

MY POEMS

(Art Of The Mind)

By

NOBODY

Savannah was unsure why it was here. Only Cameron would have taken it from her room.

She was afraid what this meant.

Savannah decided to get dressed. She went to where she'd left her fresh set of clothes, they weren't there.

Cameron's wedding dress was there instead….

Savannah went to call Cammy or Cam.

She saw John called while she was in the shower.

Something was wrong. Everything was 'off'. Now she was very worried.

She debated what to do next when her phone rang.

It appeared that things just went from bad to worse.

She grabbed a pair of shorts and slipped them on. She grabbed a top as well. She ran from her room topless. She slipped a top on as she ran, her body was still wet.

Earlier:

Sarah and Kyle were having a 'discussion'.

Kyle called Riley to come and take Jan for awhile. He knew that Sarah and him were going to have a big argument again.

Riley came by and smiled at Jan, as she led her away. She turned and looked back at Kyle. She knew things weren't always 'rosy' in Paradise.

"When it happens to us, I expect you to do this for me.…" Riley said. "It happens."

Sarah came out of the bathroom. She saw Riley leave with Jan. Now she was even more upset. Other people didn't need to know when Kyle was a problem.

"Why did you involve them?" Sarah asked.

Kyle didn't like to fight with Sarah. Sometimes it just 'happened'. He hated to see couples fight in the future. There were already enough problems with Skynet, Grays and Scavengers. People didn't need to fight over little things. Most of them were things that didn't really matter. All it did was terrify the younger children. It made it so no place seemed safe to them.

"I know how these things go, Sarah." Kyle said. "We've done this enough times. Jan doesn't need to hear it. I don't want her to hear it."

Sarah didn't know why they needed to have this discussion again. She'd made it clear a dozen times how things needed to be. She began to wonder if Kyle's memory was damaged by the toxins of the future. John and the future needed to be protected.

"We can't have a normal life." Sarah said. "We will endanger John if we try. You know this."

Kyle didn't see why something that should be beautiful for his daughter was a problem for his son. He didn't like the life that Jan was offered under the current conditions.

"I think we can." Kyle said. "I want a normal life for Jan. I want her to have a real life."

Sarah thought back on all those that died in her past while she'd survived. She was able to keep John alive even if he wasn't always safe.

"I tried that with John. I wanted him to have a normal life so much." Sarah said. "THEY always found us. They will find us. They'll always find us."

Kyle looked around their room. What kind of a life was this for a growing girl? It was better than a bunker in the Wastelands or a ruptured sewer but not really by much for what it could offer.

"There has to be a way around it." Kyle said. "I want more for Jan."

Sarah wanted better for Jan herself and all of them for that matter. It just wasn't possible. She'd tried. It never lasted. People always died.

"There isn't." Sarah said. "This is for our safety and John's safety. You KNOW this. If they get us, they get to him. It's just that simple."

There was a knock at the door.

Sarah opened it. It was Cameron. She was a little shocked to see Cameron's face damaged. She was upset at Kyle and it came out in her response.

"You look like Hell." Sarah said.

Kyle could see Cameron cringe a little.

"SARAH!" Kyle said.

Sarah realized her mistake immediately. She spoke out of anger at Kyle, not Cameron. She looked at Kyle and frowned and then back at Cameron.

"I'm sorry, Cameron." Sarah said. "I'm not having a good day. It's not your fault."

Cameron touched her face and looked down.

"I was damaged in a firefight." Cameron said. "I'm sorry I look this way."

Cameron turned to leave.

Sarah reached out and stopped her. She felt sick to her stomach that she'd offended and insulted Cameron. She knew that Cameron didn't come around when she was damaged anymore.

"Cameron, I'm sorry." Sarah said.

Cameron felt a sense of guilt and grief. They seemed to happen more often. The 'problem' with Kyle and Sarah was her fault. She hadn't destroyed Skynet yet.

"I passed by and I overheard your 'discussion'." Cameron said. "I'm trying my hardest to protect everyone. I'm failing."

Kyle could see the anguish on Cameron's face. She looked like any human girl with a deep personal problem. She looked like Allison on a 'bad' day. He wanted to help her.

"Cameron, stop." Kyle said. "Everyone knows you're doing more than everyone else combined. We all want to help you and do more."

Cameron felt it wasn't enough. There were some solutions she could offer the others. Maybe it was time to just do it and save them all before Judgment Day happened.

"I want to send you into the past, fifty or a hundred years ago. You can have normal lives…." Cameron said. "I don't know how to protect you or anyone anymore."

Kyle and Sarah were both worried now. Cameron usually didn't show herself with her face shot up. Now she was here and they both saw her left hand started to glitch.

Sarah wanted John to come to Cameron.

"I'll call John." Sarah said.

Cameron's head hung down. It shot back up as soon as Sarah said that.

"NO." Cameron said.

Kyle picked up his phone. He was aware what was happening and the transformation taking place. He made another call instead.

"Come to Sarah's room immediately." Kyle said. "Cameron needs you."

Cameron started talking about how she'd sent them all into the past before to protect them. She said she was going to do it again. She talked about all kinds of things that she said she'd done before, things that they'd never seen happen. Something was wrong….

It was clear Cameron was confused and must be damaged from being shot up.

A knock came at the door. Sarah opened it and was surprised at who was there. Somehow it was the right person.

"Hi, Sarah, excuse me." Savannah said.

Savannah walked in past Sarah. She knew that she would need to be delicate how she dealt with Cameron to remain in control.

"Cameron, I need your help." Savannah said.

Cameron continued talking as she faced Kyle. She seemed unaware Savannah was there.

Savannah was a little more worried right now.

"Cameron, I need your help." Savannah said it again.

Cameron still seemed unaware.

Sarah wanted Savannah to know a little more.

"I think she's damaged." Sarah said as she indicated Cameron's face.

Savannah moved up and took Cameron's left hand. It stopped glitching.

Cameron slowly turned and faced Savannah. Her face was blank, her eyes didn't blink. She paused in mid-sentence and scooped Savannah up off her feet and into her arms.

It alarmed both Kyle and Sarah.

That act happened in an instant. If Cameron became aggressive she could hurt someone or worse.

"It's OK." Savannah reassured them.

Cameron looked at Savannah's clothes. She frowned.

"You don't have your wedding dress on yet." Cameron said.

Savannah remembered it sat out for her to wear after her shower. Maybe she should've put it on. She didn't know things would turn out this way. She didn't want to create any problems for anyone.

"You know I can't wear it for John." Savannah said.

Cameron tilted her head slightly. It sounded like a foreign concept to her.

"Wear it for John?" Cameron asked. "Why would you wear it for John? I want you to wear it for me."

The room fell silent.

Savannah was a little confused. Cameron always wanted her to wear it for John.

"You want me to wear it for you?" Savannah asked.

Cameron smiled and kissed Savannah's cheek.

"Yes." Cameron said. "Savannah, I want you to be my wife…."

Savannah looked at Kyle and Sarah. It was clear that Cameron was about to malfunction. She wanted to get Cameron away from the others to protect them. She would take the risk herself.

"Can we go to my room and talk about it?" Savannah asked. "You can help me put the dress on. It needs some alteration. It's a little tight around the bust line."

Cameron looked at the tee shirt Savannah wore. Savannah just started to dry herself off when she received the call to come immediately. She threw on a top and shorts. She didn't even finish drying. The top was now wet in the front and clung to the shape of her breasts.

"Let me check the current size for the alteration." Cameron said.

Cameron looked over. She scanned one breast and then the other.

"Those are beautiful." Cameron said. "They are much larger now. I'll fix the dress and then we can go."

Savannah looked at Kyle and Sarah and then back at Cameron.

"Go where?" Savannah asked.

There was now a giant smile on Cameron's face.

"To get married, sweetie." Cameron said. "I love you, Savannah, and you love me."

Kyle, Sarah and Savannah all looked at each other.

Cameron waited….

The smile started to fade from her face her eyes started to glow red.

Sarah could see that Cameron was agitated. She might perceive Kyle and her as a threat.

"Say it." Sarah whispered.

Savannah moved Cameron's hair past her ear and kissed her cheek.

"I love you, Cameron, and you love me." Savannah said.

The smile returned Cameron's face.

"Let's go fix the dress." Savannah said.

Cameron was beyond the dress at this point with what Savannah just said. She was ready for 'more'.

"You won't need the dress when we get there…." Cameron said, and carried Savannah away. "We can go straight to the honeymoon."

Savannah looked back over Cameron's shoulders at Kyle and Sarah as they headed down the hall.

"What just happened?" Kyle asked.

Sarah could only see this new turn of events as a threat to Savannah and possible everyone else. She didn't want John to go near Cameron right now.

"It appears Cameron and Savannah just got married." Sarah said. "We need Metal and we need it fast. Savannah may be in danger if Cameron starts to malfunction - worse."

Kyle could see this was more involved than he'd thought.

"That damage to Cameron's face must have messed her up." Kyle said. "She may be damaged elsewhere too."

Sarah didn't blame Cameron for any of this. It was all Skynet's fault.

"It wouldn't be the first time." Sarah said. "Cameron has taken a lot of damage and punishment herself for all of the rest of us."

Sarah knew anything could happen at this point.

Say It

Life has many thresholds
Which one must cross
Some are without issues
Others will a soul emboss

Most of the barriers encountered
Are fabricated and put into place
By each person themselves indirectly
Many are impossible to change or erase

Everyone is always searching
For what specifically they don't know
They look in the wrong direction
They either go too fast or too slow

When one decides to take a stand
It is often already much too late
Perhaps that is the cruel reality
Everyone is subject to a dark fate

Many are reluctant to commit
They often feel to be a misfit
It is only themselves they outwit
All because they neglected to say it

Nobody
