Chapter 16: The Ending Part Seven

Previously on What If:

While he is saying this Troy didn't realize that a nurse had come in to take him to see Sharpay. The nurse not having the heart to interrupt just let him continue talking to his babies. Troy at this point looks up and sees the nurse and she comes over.

"Sorry I didn't want to interrupt you, but I just wanted to let you know that your wife's room is ready. And I came to take you to her whenever you are ready."

"I'm ready." Troy responds and looks to the twins again and goes to follow the nurse out and to Sharpay's room.

Sharpay's Hospital Room

Troy enters into Sharpay's room in the hospital and sees his wife hooked up to a lot of wires, machines and a breathing tube.

The nurse who had shown Troy where Sharpay's room was saw that Troy was looking over at his wife almost afraid to touch her. "You can hold her hand and talk to her. You never know it might bring her out of her coma faster than you know." The nurse said trying to be helpful as she has seen over time what happens to each and every different coma patient.

"Do you really think so?" Troy asks.

"I do and plus in a way your wife can feel your love for her even though she isn't awake at the moment."

"Thank you."

"Your welcome, I'm going to leave so you can have some time alone with your wife. Would you like for me to bring the others that are waiting in the ER?"

"Not yet, I want some time alone with my wife first before anyone else comes into her room. But if they want to see the babies in the NICU that is fine."

"You got it." With that the nurse leaves Troy to be alone with Sharpay.

Troy takes a seat down in a chair that is next to the bed and holds her hand as if it's a lifeline. "Hey baby, it's me and I'm so sorry that this happened to you. I'm sorry that I wasn't here to hold your hand and be there for when you went into labor." Troy starts off while trying to keep his tears at bay. "I saw our babies and guess what we have one of each. A boy and a girl, boy am I in trouble now especially since our daughters seem to be taking after you in their looks and beauty. I names the twins with the names that we agreed on I hope that you don't mind. Our son's name is Zachary Ryan Jack and our daughter's name is Ariel Melody Linda. Pay I need you to wake up and come back to me." Troy says finally breaking down in tears still holding on his wife's hand.

While Troy was talking to his wife little did he know that she was listening while with her own angels to help guide her back to him and their family.

With Sharpay:

(It's starts off while on the way to the hospital before she started to code in the ambulance.)

"Okay we are about 5 minutes away from the hospital. Are you feeling any pain or contractions coming?" Dawson asks to mom to be.

"No not yet." Sharpay answers while looking over at Dawson. She then turns her head to her best friend and sister in law. "Gabs, I need you to promise me something."

"Like what?" Gabby asks confused and not really liking where this was going. Not really wanting to argue with her sister in law while she was in labor.

"I need you to promise me that if it comes down to between saving my life over my babies' lives, then you save their lives."

Gabby looks shock, "Pay you can't really mean that."

"I do and promise me that you will help Troy raise the kids."

"Pay I can't make a promise like this."

"Gabby!" Sharpay yells and starts to feel a contraction coming. Gabby looks over to her and realizes that her best friend would never ask her to promise her anything like this unless it was really important.

"Okay, I promise you. Even though I don't like it but I promise to save the babies' lives and to help Troy raise the kids."

Sharpay doesn't respond as she has already started seizing.

Limbo:

The next thing Sharpay knows is that she is surrounded by angel guides. One of the angel guides being Troy's grandfather, his grandfather had passed away a few months right after they got married.

"Hello my dear." Grandpa Bolton greets her and goes up to her.

"Hello Grandpa Bolton." Sharpay says in shock to be seeing him again. "Am I dreaming? Or am I dead?"

"No you aren't dreaming my dear. And no, you aren't dead yet. You are in a place called limbo."

"What is limbo?"

"Limbo is a place where people like you are choosing between life and death. You aren't dead yet but however if you choose to go down a different path then you will die."

"What do you mean by choosing a different path?"

"What I am meaning my dear child, is that if you choose to go towards one door it will lead you back to your family, but if you choose to go down to another door then you will be on your way to heaven. I pray that you choose to go back to your family. For your life is still only just beginning."

"How long do I have?"

"Only a few days before Troy has to make a choice to take you off the ventilator that is keeping you alive."

Sharpay doesn't respond but can only nod at Grandpa Bolton.

"My dear you and I both know that it will destroy Troy if he has to be the one to make that choice. He loves you so much that he was willing to go back in time to fix his mistakes." Grandpa Bolton starts off saying before Sharpay interrupts him.

"Wait what are you talking about? What do you mean when you said that Troy went back in time to fix his mistakes?" Sharpay asks confused as she never knew that her husband never told her any of this.

"My dear please listen to me and be patient for what I am about to tell you."

"Okay."

"Very well, what I was meaning is that in a different timeline or universe I should say. You and Troy were broken up after that party at Chad's house during your freshman year of high school. You both went down different paths and you married someone else and were getting ready to start your own family with him. However neither of you had spoken since you had broken up and then my son and daughter in law threw a party for Troy's NBA career. You and your family were there and you went into Troy's room and saw an old photograph of the two of you together. That just happened to be the last one that was taken and then you lit a candle in his room and made a wish. That wish was for him to finally have an understanding. Are you still with me?"

Even though she was still in shock Sharpay still nods her head.

"With your wish four sprits came to visit Troy to show him his past, present, future and father time came to see what his choice would be. The choice he had to make was to either go back in time or fix his mistakes with you or to stay in the present timeline now where in the future you would die while in child birth." Grandpa Bolton says.

"Wait you are saying that Troy choose to save me even though we weren't together and I was married to someone else?"

"Yes that's right."

"But then that would mean that he changed certain parts in the future right?"

"Yes that is correct."

"But why would he do that?"

"Because of his love for you and that hasn't changed no matter where you both have ended up in life. The love that you both have for each is true and written in stone. Even though the future is never written in stone however you both are each other's soulmates. The bond between soulmates doesn't and won't fade in time even if you weren't together. Troy chose to go back and stay with you and have the life that you both were meant to have."

"That makes sense a little bit. But wouldn't the fates have different plans like a life for a life?"

"Not all the times and I think that you have been watching one too many Disney movies lately."

"True, Aurora really likes the little mermaid and other Disney Princess movies."

"Aww yes Aurora, named after the dawn for the golden sunshine in her hair. She I can see from heaven looks like you especially with her beauty and grace. What a little princess she is!"

"Yes she is and the light of her grandparents and father's lives."

"True but back to the fates while they may choose a life for a life they will only do that if there was no other option. One option being if a person's life was too far away from saving, however with your life you aren't too far away yet to go back. You can still have that future that you and Troy have always dreamed about."

"Really we can?"

"Yes you both can. But you are now the one need to make that choice between life and death."

"Will I be able to see what happens with either one?"

"Yes you will and please promise me that you will make the right choice and choose to go back to live your life? You are still so young too die and still have so much to give the world."

"I promise."

"Very good my dear and now once I snap my fingers you will begin your path back to life or to heaven."

"Okay."

"Love you my dear." Grandpa Bolton says and snaps his fingers.

Okay so this is the end for this chapter. Next chapter you will see Sharpay's journey to decide between life and death. I might include some flashbacks but you will have to wait and see.
