Chapter 686
They Get It From Me
Cameron and Savannah were headed towards the Skynet location that was just discovered by Derek and Kyle along with Jim and Ed.
Savannah knew things were about to get hot. She didn't want to damper Cameron.
"Cameron, I know we're headed for danger." Savannah said.
Cameron really didn't see that it could be anything but that.
"That's most likely." Cameron said.
Savannah didn't want to hold Cameron back. They were there to do a job and no one did it better than Cameron.
"I want you to do what's necessary." Savannah said. "This is about stopping Skynet."
Cameron looked at Savannah.
"Things can get hot." Cameron said.
Savannah was aware of the risks.
"We have a job to do." Savannah said. "We're going to do it."
They drove in silence for a while as they neared the target area. Cameron soon arrived at the location with Savannah. They met up with the rest of the team members.
After the pleasantries, they got down to business.
"Let's have the full report." Cameron said.
Jim filled Cameron in while Savannah greeted Derek and Kyle. Ed stood guard while he kept the area under observation.
Cameron wanted to know what else they needed to deal with right at this moment.
"Has there been any traffic in or out?" Cameron asked.
There was no traffic out but one truck did enter the compound.
"The only arrival is the box truck you see backed up to the dock." Jim reported. "We were only able to see inside the building briefly when the large door was opened to unload the truck."
They hoped the public records would turn something up.
"John Henry will research the history of the building as to its ownership and any leasing information." Ed said. "He'll do the same for the box truck. It's possible other locations may be identified."
They all knew that other locations would mean there were other targets. One of them would most likely contain the finished product.
Cameron knew this was a solid target. She was a little concerned for the humans that were with her. She needed to think about Derek, Kyle and Savannah if the heat picked up.
"I want Jim and Ed to remain here, the rest of us are going to pull back a ways." Cameron said.
The team on the ground thought that was a different approach for Cameron. Cameron never 'pulled back'. Derek, Kyle and Savannah all looked at each other and followed Cameron. No one argued. The four of them headed to Cameron's SUV.
"I want more Terminators in on this." Cameron said. "We all know this is going hot soon."
Derek opened the rear door and saw the bra and underwear on the floor. Savannah quickly scooped them up and tossed them in the very back. She thought about offering an explanation but decided to let it slide. She decided not to say anything unless she was specifically asked about it. There was still something else she didn't want to come to light. She didn't want what she'd done at the pier to come up and have everyone make a big deal about it. She was unaware that CamNet clandestinely notified Young Allison about her 'adventure'.
Derek and Kyle looked at each other but said nothing. It looked like something private. They were accustomed to such things from the future. Everyone climbed into Cameron's SUV.
"I have plenty of weapons and munitions in case we need to act." Cameron said. "I want to avoid that."
Cameron received some additional information from John Henry. It was welcome news for her to hear because it would put the humans further away from the danger.
"We'll have two teams of Terminators that will arrive soon." Cameron said.
Derek glanced at Kyle who nodded back at him. They didn't want to get sidelined, especially since they were the ones who'd made the discovery.
"We want to be a part of the operation." Derek said.
Cameron didn't want them involved in the fighting that was sure to follow.
"You can be for surveillance only. There are other locations we still need to identify." Cameron said. "I don't want anyone taking chances. I want to know where that truck goes."
Savannah knew they needed to see where the final assembly was being done. She didn't think that was the end of it after the product was completed. The completed unit was more than likely sent to another location for storage or to be deployed from. She thought that location would yield the most equipment. It would also contain the deadly finished products.
"That destination will be a target." Savannah said. "Before it is hit, we'll need to see if they send the 'finished product' anywhere else. That will be the real target."
Cameron agreed they couldn't act too soon in this particular situation. There was much that could be gained by not acting too soon.
"That's agreed." Cameron said. "These things are all tied together."
Al and Dan arrived and soon afterward, so did Ally and Sheila.
Everyone was a little surprised to see the Metal girls show up. They were usually involved in other operations for CamNet.
"Derek, you and Ed will be one team. Kyle and Jim will be the other team." Cameron said.
Sheila gave Derek a 'once over' from top to bottom and back up again.
"I'll be on Derek's team." Sheila said.
Savannah noticed and didn't want any distractions or problems. She knew with Riley being very pregnant that Derek was probably 'hungry'. He might be distracted by Sheila's antics. She would try to take advantage of that. The 'Jesse' in her programming would want to explore the 'good old days'. She decided to redeploy the personnel in a different manner. She knew that Cameron would back her play.
"Al will go with Derek and Dan with Kyle." Savannah said. "Ally and Sheila can be with Cameron and me."
Savannah saw that Sheila now began to check her out.
Everyone regrouped into the new teams.
Sheila and Ally were now in the back seat of Cameron's SUV.
"What do you have in the way of weapons and vests?" Sheila asked.
Sheila reached in the back and was a little surprised at what she found. She lifted up Savannah's undergarments.
"What happened here?" Sheila asked. "Did someone forget something?"
Ally looked at them and quickly determined that they belonged to Savannah.
"It looks more like we missed out on something." Ally said.
Savannah was a little self conscious with their discovery.
"Put those down, please." Savannah said.
Sheila appeared to examine them a little further.
"That's interesting." Sheila said.
Ally watched her.
"I don't know but it looks like we should have gotten here earlier." Ally said.
With that wishful thought, Ally and Sheila 'high fived' each other….
Cameron wasn't pleased with their discovery and reaction.
"Enough…." Cameron snapped.
Sheila quickly dropped the items back where they'd been.
Cameron tried to ignore what Sheila was up to. There was something more important that she needed taken care of. It was Savannah.
"I want you two to stay with Savannah at all times." Cameron said. "I may need to investigate on my own."
Sheila glanced back at Savannah's undergarments.
"It looks like you already did." Sheila said.
Ally and Sheila 'high fived' each other again….
Savannah saw Cameron take her 'shocker' out. It was clear she was ready to act and put a lid on the verbal harassment in a more severe manner.
She put her hand on Cameron's hand to stop her. She looked back at both Ally and Sheila and gave them a very firm response. It was clear she expected it to be carried out, even if it wasn't an 'order'.
"You don't need to worry about what I do." Savannah said. "There won't be any further comment on this subject. Is that clearly understood?"
Savannah continued to face Ally and Sheila. They both nodded in agreement back at her. She knew they were joking around but she didn't want the incident at the pier to come up. She figured it was only a matter of time until Sheila asked her why her underwear was wet with salt water. She hoped the ocean rescue remained anonymous and off of everyone's radar. The joking didn't bother her as it seemed to do with Cameron. In fact if Savannah were alone with Sheila and Ally, she would have egged them on.
Cameron put the 'shocker' away. She really wanted to know where the other locations were at. It seemed the easiest way to find out would be if she was the one who followed the truck when it left. It was going to go somewhere. For that matter, it also came from somewhere.
"When that truck leaves we'll follow it." Cameron said.
Sheila looked in the direction where they'd left their vehicle.
"What about our SUV?" Ally asked.
Cameron was aware there were more Terminators on the way to assist them.
"There will be others to collect it, if we don't take it." Cameron said. "We'll wait here for now."
Sheila and Ally wanted to ask a few more questions but could see Cameron wasn't happy. In fact they wanted to ask a lot of questions. None of them were related to the operation. They needed to remember Savannah's request. For all practical purposes she'd told them to 'cool it.'
More information began to arrive at the Command Center.
John could clearly see what they'd uncovered was just going to be the tip of the iceberg
"I don't like where this is going." John said.
John knew this was going to lead to a major strike at some point.
John Henry knew they weren't there yet. They still needed more information.
"It's surveillance for now." John Henry said.
John checked the satellite overlay map. There were an ever increasing number of Terminators on their way to the area.
"It may be for now but for how long?" John asked.
"That's unknown until we know more." John Henry said.
John's biggest worry was what Cameron would decide to do on her own initiative.
"I want some better planning on what develops." John said. "Cameron's not to try and do this all by herself."
Gail and Cam walked into the Command Center. They wanted to assist and help take some of the heat off of Cameron and Savannah. They'd left Jesse and Vanna in each other's arms, even if one of them was inverted on top of the other.
"We're available." Cam said. "The girls are busy."
Gail wanted to make her position clear.
"I want to reinforce Savannah." Gail said and then added. "And Cameron as well…."
John Henry was aware that Cameron didn't think the location they were currently at was going to be the focus of the main operation that was sure to develop. That location was yet to be determined.
"Cameron doesn't want too big of a presence at that facility yet." John Henry said.
John was worried about Derek, Kyle and Savannah. He was pretty sure that there was no such thing as too much help.
"It wouldn't hurt to have some extra muscle in the area." John said.
Bob arrived at the Command Center after he finished up in the lab. He too wanted to lend his assistance to help take the pressure off Savannah and Cameron
"I'll join them." Bob said.
John Henry understood how Cameron liked to operate. It wasn't with a giant team.
"Cameron will be displeased with all the help." John Henry said.
John was the General. He thought that his opinion counted the most. He wanted to make that point clear. He wanted as much help involved as possible for what was sure to grow into a major operation.
"I won't be." John said. "Do it."
Bob, Cam and Gail all took off. They headed for the carpool.
"You know Cameron will disapprove of this." John Henry said.
John needed to think about everyone involved in the operation, not just Cameron.
"I really don't care." John said. "We all know she's going to push this until it goes hot."
John wanted Cameron and Savannah as safe as possible. More Terminators meant less risk for Cameron and Savannah. He didn't want Cameron to receive any more unnecessary damage. If she did, he was going to need to find another box of tissues soon.
Young Allison monitored all the information. CamNet showed them all the positional overlays of personnel and movements. Anna quizzed her on her studies as she followed the unfolding events.
She liked to be tested when she worked on more than one thing at the same time. That included anything from physical training, to following an operation. She felt it improved her mind and expanded her abilities. Now she'd developed a new goal. It was to improve her swimming ability. She wanted to be able to do what Savannah did. She knew the ocean was way different than the pool for swimming. It was a lot colder and could be a lot rougher. There were also sea creatures that needed to be factored into the equation. Not all of them were friendly towards humans or other aquatic life for that matter. She needed to work on her endurance. She was aware the ocean was much less forgiving than the pool too.
Young Allison made another determination. She wanted to make sure that there was plenty of help for Savannah and Cameron. She knew they were going to protest if she wanted to go. Since that was the case they would be the ones who would need to go.
"If the operation comes in this direction, you and Hanna are going to assist Savannah." Young Allison said.
Anna didn't want to leave Young Allison unattended. They were specifically assigned to protect Claire and Young Allison.
"That's outside the scope of our duty assignments." Anna said.
Young Allison was more than willing to play hardball. She decided to 'serve'.
"Then you'll accompany me." Young Allison said. "I'll go."
Anna wanted to see if Young Allison would 'order' them.
"How are you going to get there?" Anna asked.
Young Allison was aware that she could operate a vehicle on her own. She wanted to add a further dimension that would force the Metal girls to accompany them.
"My mother will drive me. You and Hanna will still need to go then." Young Allison said. "You decide what's safer…."
Anna was a little disturbed about the encounter and the alternatives. It was clear Young Allison would hit low when she needed to.
"When did you decide this?" Anna asked.
Young Allison shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
"It was about fifteen seconds ago." Young Allison said.
Anna thought that Young Allison's decision and choices for them was an effective strategy. They would be forced to assist one way or another.
"You're very shrewd." Anna said.
Young Allison was aware that Allison could be quite a handful at times, especially when she was upset. She was pretty sure that it all came from her.
"Every 'Allison' is a Bitch." Young Allison said. "They get it from me…."
Anna was aware of some 'defects' in her programming from Cameron. Some of those were traceable to Future Allison through the 'Neural Interface'.
"Yes, I seem to have some too…." Anna said. "The Savannah in me helps counter that."
Young Allison smiled at that statement. Savannah was the greatest at everything.
She searched for any other reports of what happened at the pier. There were none. John Henry and CamNet erased them all like Savannah wanted.
Cammy was unhappy that Cameron sent her off to do other things while Cameron was out with Savannah. She was glad she was able to hit on John and flash him with her breasts. She planned to make a move on him and seduce him to 'punish' Cameron. She didn't like Cameron around Savannah. Savannah belonged to her, not to Cameron. She checked one more time around the location where she was at and determined that everything was in order. She was finished now and decided to head back to the Resistance base. She wanted to find out where Savannah was currently at. Maybe she would just go there. She figured that would irritate Cameron if nothing else. It appeared that John Henry came up with other plans for her.
"I need you to assist Sarah." John Henry said.
She wasn't pleased with John Henry's response and new assignment for her.
"I need to go to Savannah." Cammy said. "Cameron is going to endanger her."
John Henry thought that there was a sufficient number of Terminators there already. It was still recon and surveillance at this point
"That operation is covered." John Henry said.
Cammy didn't really care if it was covered or not. She was supposed to have a specific assignment. That assignment was Savannah.
"It's my function." Cammy said.
There was a long pause.
"Cammy, I need you to help my mom and Jan out." John said.
Cammy knew duty came before pleasure. She'd just received a personal request from the General. She smiled to herself about showing him her breasts earlier. She still wanted to seduce him to punish Cameron. She just needed to wait for the right time.
"I'm on my way." Cammy said.
John didn't want Cammy to worry too much about Savannah. He really thought with a little planning that they were able to give her better coverage than she would normally have with Cameron.
"Savannah's covered right now with plenty of Terminators" John said. "I know you're worried about her. I'm too. I've personally made sure she has adequate protection."
Cammy was pleased to hear that but she wanted to make her grievance known anyway.
"Cameron endangers her." Cammy said.
"Who would know better than you?" John asked.
"Nobody…." Cammy said.
Jim watched as they opened the door of the building from the inside to bring something out to the truck. He couldn't see much of what was happening inside. He sent some images from his phone.
"It looks like they are about to load something into the box truck." Jim reported.
Cameron watched on her phone. She was out of visual range now. She was able to get a good look at it.
"I see it. It's one more subassembly." Cameron said.
Jim noted some additional activity on the dock. It appeared one of the Grays was headed for the truck.
"There's a driver for the truck as well now. He just got in and started the truck." Jim said. "The truck's moving."
The truck pulled out and drove past the spot where Ed waited at.
"It just went past us." Ed said. "It's headed north."
Cameron saw this as her break to gain additional information about this operation.
"We'll intercept it." Cameron said. "I want both of your teams to remain on station for intel. I want to know what else is going on here and how big this operation is."
Bob left the base earlier with his team. He could work with Cameron's team so the truck driver didn't know that they were being tailed.
"Cameron, we're on an intercept course." Bob said. "We can 'leap frog' with you."
Savannah was worried as to who all made up Bob's team.
"Who all makes up the 'we'?" Savannah asked.
She hoped Vanna or Jesse weren't coming out in the field. With Kyle and Derek out now and Jesse with her yesterday on the mountain, she figured anything was possible.
Bob understood the nature of her question and wanted to put her mind at ease.
"I'm with Cam and Gail." Bob said.
Ally and Sheila quickly glanced at each other. They both smiled. They knew how things worked around the Resistance base.
"The girls must be busy." Ally said to Sheila.
They 'high fived' each other again….
"Someone knows where it's at." Sheila said.
Ally wanted to rub Cameron a little.
"And they know what to do with it." Ally said.
Cameron snapped her head around and glared at Ally and Sheila. They seemed to have nothing else to say after that.
Cameron pulled up at Ally and Sheila's SUV.
Savannah reached over and touched Cameron's hand. She didn't want any problems or hard feelings.
"Tell Bob that's fine." Savannah said. "A third SUV would give us more flexibility."
Cameron was still steamed at the Metal girls rude comments. She did know that Savannah's suggestion was the correct one for a third vehicle though.
"Get out." Cameron said as she looked at Ally and Sheila. "We'll run a three team rotation. One vehicle will be ready to run a divergent route at all times."
The Metal girls were glad o be on their own, as soon as they got out of the SUV, Ally and Sheila 'high fived' each other again.
Cameron looked at them and shook her head from side to side. It was clear that she was disgusted.
"They need to be reprogrammed." Cameron said. "We all do."
Savannah was aware that the Metal girls were just messing with Cameron. They like to do it because they knew Cameron took everything so seriously. She would get things straightened out later on.
"I don't." Savannah said. "I'll speak with them later."
Cameron knew whenever she became involved that things became contentious.
"Thank You." Cameron said. "They'll listen to you."
Savannah gave Cameron a reassuring smile.
"They all do." Savannah said. "It's my function."
Cameron felt there were a few more important ones than that.
"It's one of them…." Cameron said.
Savannah checked over her gear.
Cameron rubbed her thumb and index finger together as she looked at Savannah.
Savannah didn't notice.
Rambling Mess
Doubt, confusion, undirected, frustration
Does not make a rambling mess
Everyone can feel the same things
Daily life causes much stress
To have one help unfold the tatters
Wipe away the distant splatters
Rebuild what is damaged or shatters
Is really all that truly matters
To those who only take or abuse
They hurt you and try to repress
Never once ever did I feel meandering
To me you are never a rambling mess
What is poison to some
To another is pure ambrosia
Some only see a dark empty Black Hole
While another can see a bright Supernova
You've handled every barrier with finesse
Emerged the victor I must profess
To express the true you is to impress
I can never say it's a rambling mess
Nobody
