Chapter 2: Aid from Family and Friends

Norman Maple V approached the couple with a smile. They kissed for a few seconds and looked at him.

"That was a great battle, Ash," Norman said as he reached into his pocket and drew a badge in the shape of two circles connected together. "I think you definitely earned this, the Balance Badge."

"Thanks Norman!" Ash said as he took the badge. "Alright, I got a Balance Badge!"

He raised the badge up high in his usual victory pose as May smiled.

Norman turned to her now. "Well, I think we should probably talk now Princess May."

He led them to a nearby house that connected to the Gym. Kenny stayed as he took them to his study which held many books.

"Well, I imagine you are just as surprised as I am," Norman said.

May nodded.

"I never imagined that one of my brothers descendants would become a Gym Leader. Of course, this whole era is something I could never imagine possible. If you don't mind, could you tell me what became of our family?"

Norman nodded. Though his expression turned grim. He pulled a book from the nearby shelf, the couple caught a glimpse of the title, History of Ancient Hoenn. and turned it to a certain page near the back.

"After you vanished, Duke Harley attacked the Petalburg Castle."

May gasped.

"Duke Harley?" Ash asked.

"My old fiancé," May said, horrorstruck. "My parents, Max, Akari…"

"Oh your family got away," Norman assured her. "Though there were casualties. Many soldiers covered their escape."

"Oh, thank goodness," May let out a breath of relief, but was still sad that men had lost their lives and felt a little guilty for it since it was her leaving that caused it.

"Duke Harley took control of the Petalburg castle, but after that he vanished and was never heard from again. This allowed the Maple Family the chance to the reclaim their castle once they gathered allies."

"Do you know what became of my little brother Max?" May asked.

"Yes, according to this, he ruled well," Norman said handing the book to her.

May looked over the text. "After the disappearance of Duke Harley, he married Lady Vivi Winstrate and ascended to the throne and had a large family."

May smiled, but at the same time knew that in this time her family back then was long gone. She'd known that was the case but still felt a bit sad. Sniffling a bit, she felt Ash wrap an arm around her and she cried into his shoulder.

"You okay May?" Ash asked.

"Yeah," she said. "It just hurts to know they're not alive at the same time as me anymore. At least they all had full lives."

Ash nodded. "And now we've met one of their descendants."

Norman gave a soft smile at them. "Its an honor to meet such legendary figures."

"Legend? Me?" Ash asked.

"You are mentioned in here. Indirectly," Norman said taking the book back. "It says Princess May returned, claiming to have been sent to the future by way of the Mirage Tower and was rescued by a man she met there. Though most people consider that just a legend or the Princess being not in her right mind."

May blushed. Of course, to no one who actually knew the events today it did sound like a fairy tail. Ah well, she knew it was true and she was with her Sir Ash.

"Well, since I am your kin, I'd be happy to help you out if you need anything Princess May," Norman said.

May smiled. He might not be her father but he was a kind man nonetheless. Max and his ancestors would probably be proud. She thought for a moment then remembered one thing that had always bothered her on her journey with Ash.

"If you have any funds that you can spare I would greatly appreciate it," May said. "Sir Ash has been paying for everything so far and I would like to be able to do that for myself as well so that he doesn't feel burdened."

"May, you've never made me feel burdened." Ash stroked her shoulder. "And you never will. I love you."

She smiled. "Still, I want to at least help out so you don't always have to spend your money on me."

Norman nodded. "I can definitely spare some money. In fact, why don't we set you up with a Pokemon Trainer Account?"

"Pokemon Trainer Account?" May asked.

"It's a form of ID that trainers use," Ash said. "With it you can have these accounts… er… things that can hold money for you. I have my Pokedex. But how can we get one set up for May?"

"I can help with that," Norman said. "Professor Birch is an old friend of mine. I'm sure he'll be willing to make one for you."

"Professor Birch?" May asked.

"He's a Pokemon researcher that's not far from here," Ash said. "Though with only two months till the Hoenn League, we might be pressed for time."

"I can give you a quick ride to Oldale Town," Norman said. "Its less than an hour to drive there. We can head there and be back before sunset."

He led them to his garage where he kept his car. Ash and May got in the back, Pikachu and Eevee on their laps. Minun sat in the middle seat with Plusle who Ash let out. Both male electric types were tired from the battle. They'd have to head to the Pokemon Center when they got back to Petalburg.

Norman started up the car and they hit the road. May watched in amazement as they moved at incredible speed like they had with Ash's Mother when she'd driven them in her car to Silver Town back in Kanto. They passed through trees, another small town, and into another. A sign on the road read Littleroot Town.

"Wow," May said. "I don't remember this settlement from my time."

"It's the place where many trainers begin their journey," Norman said. "Where your roots begin I believe the saying is."

They pulled up in front of a large building that held the title Professor Birch Pokemon lab. Norman lead them inside where a man with dark hair and a beard in a labcoat was busy on a computer.

"Oh, Norman! Ash!" Professor Birch exclaimed. "Been a while. What brings you two here? And who is this lovely young lady?"

May blushed. "May, Sir."

"You see, we have a bit of a… secretive situation," Norman said. "Can we talk privately."

Birch nodded. "My assistant left for the day so it shouldn't be a problem. But I can lock the door to be sure."

He did so. Then listened. When Ash and Norman told him he was astounded.

"Wow. I remember you told me about your distant Aunt May who disappeared into the future. I thought it was probably just a legend but I guess not," Birch said. "Well I'd be happy to help out. Just stand over here May."

He motioned to a nearby camera. May looked at Ash who nodded. "He's going to take your picture for making an ID. Its okay."

May stood in the designated spot. There a click and a flash. Then Professor Birch began typing on his computer.

"Okay, I'm putting your name as May Maple. For a cover I'm gonna say you are the daughter of Norman at the Petalburg Gym. There."

And Professor Birch handed May a Trainer ID card and a Pokedex.

"Now, you just insert that Pokedex into a computer and you can withdraw money," Professor Birch said.

"Those things there," Ash said pointing to the one the Professor was using. "I'll show you how later."

"In the meantime, I'll give some money to start," Norman said as he pulled several bills from his wallet and handed them to May.

"Thank you so much Dad- I mean Norman," May said. "Its weird, you look just like my Dad, have the same name and now you are my fake dad here."

Norman chuckled. "Well, I'm happy to help you out May. I have no children of my own, but I'm glad to have a family member here."

May smiled. Then Professor Birch said, "If you want May, I can give you a Pokemon that some trainers are given when they first start their journeys."

"Really?"

"It'd be my pleasure. There's a Torchic here that hasn't been picked out by a trainer yet."

He walked over to a pokeball that lay on a nearby desk. Pressing the button he let the Pokemon inside out. It was a small orange chickenlike pokemon with stubby yellow wings and orange feathers, a beck and thin legs of a similar shade and a set of three yellow feathers at the top of its head that resembled a flame.

May's mouth hung open. "Oh its so cute! You'd really let me take it?"

"Sure, Princess," Professor Birch said. "I just want to it to have a good trainer, and I can't keep it here forever."

"Alright, I'll take it!" May said as she picked the Torchic up. "Now I have three cute little Pokemon!"

With May's ID set up and her having a new friend, they got back into the car and headed back to the Petalburg City.

"Thank you for everything… Norman," May said to her distant nephew.

"You're welcome… Aunt May," Norman said.

It felt weird being called that, like she was an older lady. But technically she was several centuries old in one way.

"Just May is fine," the Princess said.

"You take care of her highness, Sir Ash," the Gym Leader said.

"I will," Ash said as he put an arm around May. "Goodbye."

With that, the two travelers and their Pokemon, Pikachu, Eevee, and Minun walked off to the nearby Pokemon center. It was sunset, and they needed to get a place to stay for the night. Pikachu leaned on Eevee for support.

"You okay?" she asked him.

"I will be once I'm healed at the center," he said. "Talk about reverse roles huh?"

"Yeah," she said. "Well I guess its only fair. I'm glad you're not as hurt as I was. Took me over a long time to heal."

He smiled back. "Hard to believe its only been a couple weeks since we met."

They arrived at the center and saw a familiar face.

"Hello Nurse Joy," Ash said as he saw the woman.

"Hello," the Petalburg Nurse Joy said. "How can I help you?"

"I need my Pokemon healed, and we could use a room for the night," Ash said.

"Certainly," Joy said.

May looked at Eevee and Minun. "How are you two feeling?"

"Eevee!"

"Minun!"

They both said their names to her with a smile. Feeling good. Though, remembering that Eevee had only recently fully recovered, May wanted to be sure.

"I'm glad you're feeling good. But I want to make sure you're both okay, so I'm putting you in your Pokeballs to go with Nurse Joy."

She drew both Pokeballs from her pack and called both Pokemon inside. She put them and her new Torchic into a Pokeball tray while Ash did the same with all of his Pokemon. Ash then received the key to their room. Now it was just the two of them alone. May's mind eagerly thought of what they would do in bed tonight.

But her stomach had other plans as it gave a rumble.

"Guess I'm hungry," May said with a blush.

"Yeah, me too. We forgot about lunch," Ash said. "To the cafeteria then?"

She nodded. They made their way to the nearby dining room and May's mouth watered as she saw the delicious dishes of this time. She and Ash filled their plates and ate hungrily, May smiled at him.

"You miss the food here?" Ash asked.

"Yes, but not NEARLY as much as I missed you!" May said as she kissed her boyfriend.

He kissed her back happily. They ate their meal then headed into their room and closed the door behind them. May sat on the bed and looked at him eagerly. Though some crossed her mind and caused her smile to fade

"You okay?" Ash asked as he sat next to her on the bed.

She nodded. "Yeah. I just wonder what happened to Duke Harley when he disappeared."

Ash shrugged. "I don't know. Well, maybe he got attacked by a Pokemon when he went out someday?"

May smirked. "Maybe. Well, that would serve him right! Forcing my family out of our castle and attacking them!"

Ash nodded. "I'd hate to be forced out of my house back in Pallet Town. But as long as my mom was alright, I guess that's more important."

May smiled. Then asked, "How is your Mom? Is she alright after Dialga's last attack?"

"She's fine," Ash told her. "In fact, I think I should probably call her and tell her the good news."

"Call her?" May asked. "But she's really far away how can she hear you?"

"Follow me and I'll show you," Ash said.

They got up from the bed and made their back out into the lobby where Ash showed her several devices on the wall.

"This is a phone," Ash said. "It allows you to contact people that are far away."

"Wow. So, you can talk to someone no matter where they are?" May asked. "How convenient."

Ash picked up the phone and pressed the buttons bearing numbers as May watched with her usual fascination of today's devices. For a moment the videophone screen was black with red letters saying ringing. Then an image of his mother appeared in her living room.

"Hi Mom!" Ash said.

Delia Ketchum's eyes widened as she saw not only Ash, but his girlfriend as well.

"Ash? May? But I thought you had been sent back to your own time?" Delia asked.

May saw the other woman's lips moving as she talked but couldn't hear her. "I'm sorry I can't hear you."

Ash quickly pressed a button and set the phone to hands free, allowing May to hear.

"She was but Dialga changed his mind and agreed to let her come back!" he said.

"Oh that's wonderful!" Delia said. "I'm so happy for you both! Its like a dream come true!"

May nodded. "Yes it is Mrs. Ketchum.

Delia looked at her son again. "Where did you get that medal Ash?"

"Oh, May made it when she was sent back to her own time. It's a seal of knighthood," Ash said holding it out for her to see clearly.

"Well. I think you've probably earned that," Delia said. "You have saved the world before after all."

"Mom!" Ash said in embarrassment.

"You have?" May asked. "I've got to hear about that!"

"Well maybe later," Ash said. "I just thought I'd let you know that May was back and we're going to continue our journey through Hoenn."

"Wonderful. Oh, Professor Oak is here. Would you like to speak with him?"

"Oh yeah that would be great!" Ash said.

"Professor Oak?" May asked.

"He's an old friend of mine. I told you about him once, though I might have forgotten to mention his name," Ash said. "He's the one who gave me Pikachu back when I started my journey all those years ago. He's also a famous Pokemon Researcher like Professor Birch is here."

"Professor! Delia called off to the side. "Its Ash and his new girlfriend I was telling you about!"

An elderly man in a white lab coat with a red shirt on underneath appeared as Delia stepped aside.

"Ash! My it's been a while. Your mother and I were just in the middle of finishing dinner and she told me about your recent adventure that happened in the past month. I was so sorry when I heard that you were separated from your girlfriend. But now it seems you're back together! How wonderful! That shows nothing can overcome the power of love."

"Thanks Professor," Ash said.

Oak looked at May now. "Hello, May is it? Well may I say that you are certainly a beautiful young woman?"

May blushed and did a curtsy in her little skirt. "Thank you, Sir. I suppose with you being a famous person in today's time I should be honored to meet you."

"Well, I should be just as honored since you are Royalty."

"I was," May said. "But now I'm just Ash's girlfriend. But I'm glad to be that."

"Me too," Ash said as he put an arm around May.

"Well, I wish you both luck in your future travels," Professor Oak said.

"Thanks Professor," Ash said.

"Now you take care of your girlfriend Ash. From what I heard she gave up quite a bit to be with you. So, you better treat her right!" Professor Oak said.

Ash nodded. "I intend to."

"He's been nothing but chivalrous ever since we met," May said taking Ash's arm and resting her head against his shoulder.

"Good. Well, I'd had best get going," Professor Oak said. "I look forward to hearing from you again."

"Later!" Ash said with a wave.

He stepped aside and allowed Delia to come back to the phone.

"I'm glad this has all turned into a happy ending. But I hope you two are going to be responsible while you're traveling."

May made a confused expression for a moment. But Ash understood what his mother meant.

"Don't worry Mom. We can be responsible."

"Good. Well, good night son. Good night, May. I hope to see you again in a few months."

"Good night," May said.

The phone call ended and Ash looked at May.

"Ready for bed?" he asked.

She yawned. "Yeah. Been a long day. But I'm glad to have spent it with you again."

He grinned. "Well, I'm taking you to bed!"

He bent down and picked her up as she gasped and giggled. The other trainers watched them, but that didn't matter as Ash carried May upstairs back to their room. As soon as they stepped through the door he closed it behind them with his elbow and walked to the bed, setting May down on top of it. May lay on her back and smiled up at him. He then covered her mouth and gave a false evil grin.

"Looks like I've stolen the Princess of Hoenn!" he said in as evil a voice as he could manage to pull off.

She smiled for a moment at the joke then closed her eyes in an act of fear. He removed his hand and allowed his 'captive' to speak.

"No please let me go you evil villain! I want to be with my family!" she pretended to beg.

"Sorry, but you're all mine Princess!" Ash said with a grin.

He pulled her shirt off.

"No! No! Please!" she begged in a rather unconvincing tone.

"You sound like you want it!" Ash said.

"No! I don't!" she said, again not very convincing.

"Too bad, cause you're gonna get it!" Ash said as he pulled her shorts and skirt off as well.

"Ah! I look like a slut in just this!" May said her cheeks bright red. "Of course, in my time even all my clothes wouldn't look modest at all."

"Well, you're not… since sluts have lots of partners in this area," Ash said. "But you only do it with me like a good girl!"

He stripped himself of his clothes as May lay there, pretending to struggle against invisible bonds holding her in place.

"Please let me go!" she said.

"You're obviously enjoying this," Ash said. "Maybe you'd like actually being tied up?"

"Ooh. Going to kidnap me for real, are you?" May asked.

"Maybe," Ash grinned. "But only if you give consent."

"I wouldn't mind being your captive," May said.

Ash grinned and kissed her. He then looked down and wrapped his fingers around her panties and pulled them down. Moans of pleasure filled the room as they immersed themselves in each other.

After an hour of fun and playful banter, the couple lay there panting. Ash rested his head against May's chest as she stroked his hair.

"How do you like having your princess pillow back again?" she asked.

"It feels very nice," Ash said.

She felt him stroking her belly underneath the covers. Then a thought occurred to her.

"Do you think we'll have a baby soon?" she asked.

Ash looked at her. "Well, we might. Though… I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that just yet."

She nodded. "I love you Sir Ash. And I want to marry you someday. More than anything, but yes… I think we better worry about one thing at a time. Still what if I'm pregnant now or become so soon?"

"Then I'll stick with you. And our baby," Ash said. "I said I'd marry you someday and I meant it. It would take nine months for our child to be born, and I'm aiming to get the Hoenn league finished in two."

"So… what will you do after the Hoenn League?"

Ash looked at her. "Be with you for the rest of my life."

She smiled at that. Whatever the future held, they would face it together.

Little did they know, a threat was brewing in the ancient past.

A man with long purple hair in a green tunic and hat walked through the forest in a rage.

"I will get my bride back! She can't hide from me forever!" Duke Harley said. "Once I get help from the magical creature here, I will get you back May Maple!"

Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. I'm managing to get back into two chapters a week. Got my schedule reworked so its letting me write more again. Someone in the last review said they were hoping for intimate scenes, which I kinda got here. Didn't show it directly since Lady Arcanine did that. Never actually published any direct sex scenes but have practiced it a couple times in the last few months for fun on some other writing. I don't know if I will go into full description but we'll see. If you guys want me to put a request in your review and I'll consider it.
