Lucy was making her way to her apartment lost in thought about the party in the bar now she really regrets rejecting the invite a part of her told her to go but another part said not to and it was louder 'Maybe I should have gone there' Lucy shakes her head 'I still going to hang out with Juvia tomorrow' before her thoughts lingered further she heard loud noise on the road she's walking, when she saw the source of it she became horrified for it was a motorcycle gang looming around, she started taking light steps and hid behind a wall seeing that the gang didn't notice her she attempted to run for it only to feel a tight grip on her arms. Lucy expression adopted fear she decided to look at what's grabbing her arms and saw its members of the gang.
"Hey guys look what we got here, it's that new blonde ring girl" all of them approached making Lucy more scared than before, the leader makes his way to her smiling.
"Well what a gift we had received" he gets something out of his jacket which is a folded magazine, he unfolds it revealing pictures of Lucy in a pink bikini along with Mirajane in an orange one (fairy tail episode 179), to Lucy this was a found memory when Mira taken her to a photoshoot in order to test her and get her ready for the job but now wasn't the time to dwell on that.
"Heh she looks even better in reality especially in the last fight where she was jumping and rubbing her thighs" one of the thugs who are holding Lucy commented while licking his lips.
"Yeah could you make it more obvious you want someone to bone you?" the other thug who's holding Lucy's arm questioned.
"Now" the leader gets a knife out "Let's see what the rest of her body looks like" Lucy closed her eyes praying for this nightmare to end, then she hears the boss screams in pain.
"Hey who do you think yourself are punk?" one of thugs shouted, Lucy feeling brave opened her eyes seeing a lone pink haired young man standing in front of the gang by himself his gaze was focused on the fallen leader wearing casual clothing.
"Natsu" Lucy whispered.
"Hey punk didn't you hear me?" the thug asked again, then Natsu looked towards them with an unusual expression causing him and the others to stumble back & let go of Lucy, not wasting anytime Lucy ran towards Natsu's side away from the thugs.
"Don't waver he's just a single guy we just have to gang up on him" another thug shouted, it did the effects the group got their knifes out and started rushing towards Natsu but he raises his fist which is now covered in flames and rushes towards them unleashing his attack sending them flying and then fall down.
Sirens were heard as a police car approached an officer got out and made his way towards the youngsters "What the hell happened here?"
Lucy nodded and told him what happened the officer nodded and told them to continue on their way. As they were leaving the crime scene Lucy lightly bowed towards Natsu "Thank you so much for coming for my rescue" she said while her voice still has evidence of breaking down the she felt a ruffle on her hair she looked up and saw a grinning Natsu.
"It's alright it's isn't a big deal we're friends and co-workers there's nothing weird about helping our each other's out" he said nonchalky.
"Still I really insist to let me pay you back somehow."
Natsu thinks for a while then smiles "How about you buy me drinks at the bar?"
Lucy nods but then something hit her "Wait why aren't you in the bar?"
"Well you weren't there and I asked Juvia where were you and she said you were going home so I followed your scent that was left on Juvia to get you to reconsider not joining us especially since it's your first day and it's a good thing I found you."
"Wait my scent?"
"Yeah it's an ability of mine don't ask too much about it."
Lucy decided not to ask and simply followed Natsu when they reached the bar a teary eyed Juvia was the first thing they saw as she jumped at Lucy hugging her tightly refusing to let go believing that Lucy would disappear if she does "J—via y—o crushiiing ME."
Juvia let go of her embrace whilst brushing some tears off of her face "Juvia sorry she just heard what happened from Natsu" she sniffles "To think Juvia would have lost her new friend in the same day she met her."
Lucy given her a warm smile "It's okay Juvia Natsu got rid of them we're fine."
Juvia nodded and wiped the last of her tears from her eyes she was about to say something but Erza appeared looking towards Lucy with a still expression Lucy swallow's a little then bows "Sorry for causing such trouble on my first day."
Erza came towards Lucy slowly everyone started to get scared then gasped when Erza slapped Lucy before anything else could be said Erza hugged Lucy hardly and warmly "Don't say anything about causing trouble I'm glad your okay, just don't make me worry like that again" she says then looks at Lucy in eyes "Deal?"
Lucy nods "Deal."
After that the happy atmosphere was back on everyone's minds, they returned to celebrating Cana, Bacchus, Makarov and few other guys were having a drinking contest until only Cana and Bacchus left and the former is knocked out. Ren and his pals whom Lucy learned were called the trimens were drinking and having a girl faculty member with them Ren had Sherry Blendy the doctor who Lucy remembers when she had been excepted as a ring girl was checking her health and Juvia did tell her during one of their talks during the event that Sherry did act as stand in ring girl until Lucy got the job, Hibiki had Jenny relight one of the champions of the woman's division while she didn't compete tonight she always comes for parties, Eve had Mickey Chickentiger an impressive rookie in the woman's division and finally their leader Ichiya had surprisingly Flare but Juvia told her Flare is just being nice, Lucy started to believe that Flare is a good person seeing her out and about which also says lots of things about her adapting well to her persona making it believable. Laxus was sitting down listening to music surrounded by his entourage Freed, Bickslow and Evergreen. Natsu was talking with Gray and Elfman Lucy didn't know what but she kept hearing Elfman yelling about manly.
Lucy looks around her liking the atmosphere 'I can definitely get used to this' Lucy was lost in her thoughts that she completely ignored Juvia until she clapped near Lucy's face snapping back to reality "Sorry did you say something?"
Juvia potted "Yes I was asking about if you like the party?"
Lucy nodded "Yeah I do if this's how work is then I'm glad I applied."
"Well you'll definitely like it even more if you choose to remain longer" a short blue haired girl told her; she stretches her hand towards Lucy "I'm Levy Mcgarden I'm in charge of the paper works, bills and marketing."
"Nice to meet you" Lucy answered back as they talked Lucy gained yet another friend for Levy had a lot in common with her as Lucy was enjoying the night, she got a glance at her saviour looking down with an annoyed expression "What's wrong with Natsu?"
Juvia adopts an expression of pity "He's being hard on himself again."
"Again?" Lucy asks.
Levy sighs "He's always like this when his precious people are or were in danger, he beats himself up thinking it's his fault and starts blaming himself."
Lucy is taken back "But I'm not one of them we met tonight nothing more how can he consider me that?"
"Well Natsu is extremely friendly so it's no surprise he already considers you a friend like I was once an enemy of his and when I turned in a new leaf he immediately given me his friendship" Juvia praises her friend, then her expression becomes that of someone's sick with love "And then I joined my beloved Gray in a relationship that isn't breakable" she moans while hugging herself getting Lucy and Levy to sweat in nervousness.
Lucy laughs a little nervously, then she notices Levy looking towards her with a grin "um what's wrong?"
"Sorry I was just thinking how Natsu was really worried about you."
"Didn't you two say he does this with everyone?"
"Yes he does but the tone in his voice as well as still being upset there's more than just mere friendship with you Lu-chan" Levy says waiting for Lucy to pick it up which she does.
"What no he can't just love someone like that in first sight" Lucy argues despite having a blush on her cheeks.
Juvia who snapped out of her fantasies also grinned "Well you were there in the locker room when Erza and Gray talked about Natsu's reason for losing and how he kept talking about you."
Lucy falls down seeing that not only is it two on one, but they do have evidence, Lucy looks towards Natsu then remembers something "Hey guys do you mind helping me have a solo conservation with Natsu?" the two grins somehow become even wider "No I just promised Natsu I'll buy him a drink as thanks for saving me nothing more."
"Okay we'll do it but Juvia still insists you give Natsu a chance he may not be Gray but he's still a good catch" Juvia says then she and Levy get the others away in a not suspicious way until Natsu was by himself Lucy approached him.
"Hi Luce, can I help you with something?"
Lucy nods "Yes if you remember I owe you drinks" Natsu tried to argue but Lucy insisted and got him drinks eventually everyone decided it was time to leave.
"Natsu escort Lucy make sure nothing happens to her" Erza commanded.
Lucy started to wave her hands "No it's okay I can walk by myself."
Erza shakes her head "No after what happened I'm not taking another gamble, so Natsu go with her."
"You didn't need to ask me I was escorting her anyway" Natsu says.
Lucy looks down defeated and agrees, as the two of them were leaving Juvia, Levy and Gray were giving them suggestive looks and Lucy ignored it to the best of her abilities. As the two youngsters were walking Natsu opened some conservations about himself how he got into fighting and meeting the other faculty members as well as the happenings of behind the scenes like Levy and a fighter named Gajeel were secretly dating until they were found out making out inside Levy's office by Erza who was visiting Levy to talk about some paperwork she gave her, or how Sherry enjoyed being a stand in ring girl just to make Ren jealous in an effort to make him less of a tsunder as well as making him horny in his matches as she makes sure to make an extra exclusive show for him, or about Erza having the hots for the café bartender.
Eventually they reached Lucy's apartment, Lucy made her way through the stairs "Thanks for tonight Natsu I really appreciated it."
Natsu scratches the back of his head a little "Yeah your welcome."
Lucy notices something's wrong with Natsu "Is something's wrong?"
Natsu swallow's and then asks, "Lucy do you mind going out together just the two of us?"
Lucy was taken back "Yeah of course how about Thursday 7 PM?"
Natsu looks up having a victorious smile on his face "Sure I'll pick you then."
After the two said their goodbyes Natsu left and Lucy entered her room and laid down on her bed 'If this new life of mine is a dream then I hope I never wake up from it.'
