Chapter 827
Wheels Up
Cameron went by to check on Savannah. She'd made plans for her. It was something they did whenever she could work it in. Before she knocked, she heard Savannah talking to herself. That seemed odd. Wait. That was Vanna talking to Savannah.
She listened to the conversation for a second and quickly turned away. Then she heard them talking about breeding humans. She stopped and listened again. She knew she should leave and not eavesdrop on Savannah and Vanna but the topic fascinated her. The horrific events Vanna described that happened to her made her hate Skynet even more.
Cameron couldn't even picture being chained up and assaulted multiple times a day for months. She knew Vanna was assaulted many times over the years but never imagined this occurred. No wonder she only sought females out for 'comfort'. She imagined just the thought of being touched by a male sickened Vanna.
Vanna once told her that only females ever treated her nice and shared their love. They never used her for pleasure against her will. She remembered what Vanna said, that only a female can truly satisfy another female. She wondered if when she was finally with Savannah and Young Allison if this would be true. She looked forward to finding out. She was left dissatisfied many times with her intimate activity with John. Sometimes he finished relatively quickly and that was it. She would like to think that she was left high and dry but she was left neither. She felt very low down and was left with a mess between her legs. It made her think about Claire. Claire told her that no man ever was able to give her a finish when they shared. After she heard that she didn't feel so bad about the times she didn't finish with John herself. At least she did sometimes. That was definitely better than nothing. She didn't mind so much as she cleaned up the mess on the times that she didn't finish.
Cameron was lost in thought when she heard the door start to open. She quickly moved away and turned as if she was about to approach the room for the first time. She didn't want to get caught doing what she'd been doing. The nature of the conversation had been very personal.
"Hi, Cameron." Vanna said as she exited.
Cameron exchanged pleasantries and waited to see if she would be 'called out' for eavesdropping.
"Hello, Vanna." Cameron said.
Vanna smiled as she looked at Cameron. She looked her over from head to toe and back again. She always saw such absolute beauty in Cameron. She knew that Cameron was patterned after Allison. To her it was as if she looked at two completely different individuals even though they looked similar. She knew that their DNA was the same but that was the only thing that was the same. Cameron looked like Cameron and Allison looked like Allison. It always pleased her to see Cameron, even if she had her 'own Cameron' with Cam.
"Did you come to see me?" Vanna asked.
Cameron tilted her head slightly. She was at Savannah's room, not Vanna's room.
"No, I'm here to see Savannah." Cameron said.
Vanna smiled to herself.
"Now I feel let down." Vanna said.
Cameron tilted her head slightly in the other direction.
"Don't. I've never neglected you." Cameron said.
Vanna was aware that Cameron was there whenever she needed her or for that matter when any of the different versions of her needed her.
"No, you haven't." Vanna said. "You've always looked out for me. All of 'ME'."
Savannah walked out of her room.
"Hi, Cameron." Savannah said. "Come in."
Vanna excused herself and left after she gave Savannah a wink.
Cameron made sure Vanna was gone and closed the door. She felt the need to confess her transgression to Savannah.
"I heard some of what Vanna said as I approached." Cameron said.
Savannah quickly glanced at the door that Vanna just left through. She didn't want her to hear that. She knew how personal that conversation was to Vanna.
"That was a private conversation." Savannah said. "VERY private, it was only for me to hear."
Cameron didn't like to keep secrets from Savannah.
"I know and I'm sorry, that's why I'm telling you." Cameron said. "I wanted to come clean and not have it as a secret. I didn't mean to spy on you are her."
Cameron thought she should go back earlier into the future Vanna came from. She would watch over Vanna and Allison and terminate every person who tried to touch either one of them. It would create a new timeline but Vanna would be safe, she would never be assaulted or Allison either. Wait, she would need to watch over Jesse as well. She was going to need more help. Ally and Sheila would have to come along, maybe Gail too. Even if she did all that it still wouldn't change what happened to the girls that were in this timeline now. The fact that they were there now made what happened to them personally unchangeable. Savannah brought her back to 'now'.
"I know you won't betray Vanna's confidence in me with anyone." Savannah said. "That information is very private and personal to her."
Cameron knew that she could take corrective action. She would be able to make herself unaware that the conversation ever took place.
"I won't." Cameron said. "I can delete the files if you want. I will erase them so they are eradicated. I'll do that now."
Savannah thought about it for a few seconds. She thought there was a lesson to be taught to Cameron. It was about something that mattered to her greatly.
"No, I want you to remember what she said." Savannah said. "I don't want that done to Young Allison in ANY way. She must be protected from that at all costs."
Cameron felt a slight glitch impulse. She didn't feel that she'd ever treated anyone like that, even the detainees that she'd terminated for their crimes against the future or the present.
"I've actually never done that to anyone." Cameron said. "I've never bred you. I wasn't part of the decision process for what you did. I never agreed with any of that at all. I still don't."
Cameron knew that Savannah knew she wouldn't agree to what she'd done. That was why Savannah needed to do it in a way that amounted to being done 'behind her back'.
Savannah regretted what she'd just said almost as soon as she'd said it. Everything that she'd done in that regard was done without Cameron's knowledge. It was actually all done behind Cameron's back. She'd done it that way because she didn't think Cameron would agree with her decisions and choices.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way. You're right." Savannah said. "I did it to myself. I did it that way so that you couldn't stop me because you didn't know."
Cameron seriously planned to do that with one of the females that she attempted to download her program into with the 'neural implant' she'd constructed. Savannah stopped her from further research and experimentation. There were a lot of things she'd planned. Most of them never happened. She still didn't think any of it was a big deal. Those individuals were slated for termination anyway. She almost viewed it as if she'd conducted experiments on cadavers. The only difference was the 'cadavers' were still alive and hadn't been terminated yet. She would admit to what she'd done.
"I was going to do that with the females I conducted experiments on." Cameron said. "I didn't. I would have if you would have allowed me to continue experimenting."
It still disturbed Savannah to remember what she'd witnessed Cameron do. It didn't seem to bother Cameron in the slightest. She viewed it as a transgression on humanity. She wanted to make sure she understood what exactly Cameron was going to do to them.
"So, not only were you messing with their minds, you were going to breed them?" Savannah asked. "Like animals?"
Cameron tilted her head slightly. She thought she'd made that all clear. It was all very logical. The females were all going to die anyway. There was no reason she shouldn't have been able to make productive use of their bodies before they faced their ultimate fate.
"Yes. One of them possessed a fine healthy young body." Cameron said. "Is that a problem?"
Savannah didn't really want to get into that subject right now. She didn't want to rekindle Cameron's desire to do that. Cameron could still get a hold of John's baby from one of them and not need to take it from one of the girls in the Resistance.
"Yes and no." Savannah said. "You never did so I guess it doesn't really matter then."
Cameron tilted her head slightly in the other direction. She didn't think it would have mattered anyway. She decided not to mention that because she didn't want to cause any problem with Savannah.
Savannah came over to Cameron and hugged her.
Cameron responded the same way that Savannah did.
As Savannah held Cameron tightly in her arms, she felt Cameron respond and hold her the same way. That was something different.
Cameron could tell it was something unusual. Savannah sent her a message of some kind. It wasn't what she'd expected.
Savannah did want to send a message to Cameron. She wanted to make sure that she understood it in its entirety. It applied to both now and in the future and hopefully in the past if Cameron ever attempted the same thing there.
"You NEVER will do that with anyone, ever." Savannah whispered in her ear. "I'll be the one to provide for you and John, Cameron. It will be me and only me. I'm the one who will bear your offspring."
Savannah reached down and took Cameron's hand. It started to glitch. It stopped.
Cameron didn't believe she could take anyone's baby from them even if they tried to give it to her like Riley and Derek tried again. She certainly didn't want to hurt Savannah or Young Allison in that manner.
"Savannah…." Cameron started to protest.
Savannah wanted the subject closed. It was to be done her way only. She wanted to make it perfectly clear.
"Do I need to make it an order?" Savannah asked. "I'm telling you and asking you."
Cameron felt a sense of guilt because she'd contemplated doing that before.
"I will never do that." Cameron said. "I could never do that to anyone."
Savannah kissed Cameron on the cheek and smiled at her. She wanted to get Cameron's mind off of that subject so she didn't dwell on it. She knew it was easy for cyborgs to get sidetracked on a particular issue. It was time to change the subject and refocus Cameron's mind.
"So, are we still going flying today?" Savannah asked.
Cameron responded with a big smile.
She'd wanted to direct Cameron's mind away from where it was going and it looked like it worked.
Cameron looked very content right now. The uneasiness was gone.
"Yes." Cameron said. "We're flying out of Van Nuys and headed to Lancaster on our first hop."
The direction and the destination caught Savannah's attention right away. They were going to be right next to the community of Palmdale when they arrived in Lancaster.
"Are we going to pick up Young Allison?" Savannah asked.
Cameron smiled. She wanted to give everyone what they'd asked for.
"Yes." Cameron said. "She's asked for the same training you've received."
Savannah was a little worried as to exactly what that meant.
"I was a little older than her when I started." Savannah said.
Cameron appeared unfazed. There was a smile on her face as she talked.
"Young Allison will do everything you've done at an accelerated pace." Cameron said.
Savannah knew right away there were going to need to be some things that had restrictions on them.
"There are a few 'things' she will NOT do at an accelerated pace." Savannah said. "Is THAT understood?"
Cameron understood what some of those things were. They were the things that she wasn't actually involved in that happened.
"It's understood." Cameron said. "Remember, I'm not the one who did those things."
Savannah wanted to get away from that subject. She was curious about the flight.
"Are we still doing the multi engine flight?" Savannah asked.
Cameron smiled as she thought about how skilled Savannah was at flying.
"Yes, but we will switch to a single engine aircraft when we pick up Young Allison." Cameron said. "We will do a takeoff and five 'touch and go' landings at Van Nuys and five in Lancaster before we land."
That schedule seemed to leave a lot of leeway in the flight plan.
"What will happen in between?" Savannah asked.
Cameron was always open to a little adventure.
"I guess we'll find out." Cameron said.
Savannah knew that anything can happen on a flight like that.
"Oh, boy…." Savannah said. "It's going to be one of those flights."
Cameron shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe…." Cameron said.
Savannah knew that sometimes Cameron didn't always get 'permission' for some of the things that she wanted to do.
"Did you ask her mother first?" Savannah asked.
Cameron quickly looked over at Savannah.
"No." Cameron said.
Cameron never asked for permission for training. She didn't think it would be a problem even if it was an issue of protocol. She hoped because Savannah was there that there wouldn't be a problem later on.
Training always worked the best when it happened unannounced. It made it real. If someone had the time to prepare for something before it happened, it wasn't the same as if it would just happen without them knowing about it. How they responded to that would be the real test how they would respond to a real incident that suddenly appeared.
Claire was busy in the kitchen in Palmdale. She was a little surprised when her phone rang. She heard a special ringtone.
"Hello." Claire said.
"Hello." Cameron said.
Claire was very surprised and who it was.
Cameron and Claire exchanged pleasantries and caught up.
"I'd like to take Allison – Young Allison out for some training today." Cameron said. "Savannah is here with me."
Claire actually looked at her telephone for a second.
"You don't normally ask…." Claire said.
Cameron personally didn't think that was a problem based on how it was intended to help Young Allison prepare herself for the future. She mainly did it this time because Savannah thought it was the proper thing to do for Claire.
"I'm sorry." Cameron said. "I like to surprise her to help her better adapt to changing conditions and environments. It makes her need to think on her feet and be ready for anything."
Claire was a little apprehensive about what type of training it would be.
"Is it combat training?" Claire asked worriedly. "With real bullets and explosives?"
Cameron quickly glanced over at Savannah.
"Not this time." Cameron said.
Cameron's statement confirmed Claire's suspicions.
"Oh…." Claire said. "Not THIS time?"
It didn't seem to be a problem to Cameron.
"No." Cameron said.
Savannah could tell that the conversation was headed for rocky ground.
"May I have the phone, please?" Savannah said in the background.
"Hi, Claire, this is Savannah."
"Hi, Savannah." Claire said.
Savannah wanted to take control of the conversation and the narrative.
"I'm going flying today and we'd like to bring Allison – Young Allison along." Savannah said.
Claire felt a lot better now but she wanted to make sure something else wouldn't happen later on.
"Will you be there the whole time?" Claire asked.
Savannah wanted to reassure Claire that it should be an incident free time together.
"Yes." Savannah said. "I'll be careful and make sure nothing bad happens. It will be for a few hours. I asked Cameron to ask you first."
Claire wondered if Savannah would be a little more forthcoming with information than Cameron normally was.
"Thank you." Claire said. "Has Allison – My Allison gone flying before?"
Savannah didn't see a need not to tell her the truth.
"Yes." Savannah said.
There was no response.
Savannah could tell that Claire was deeply troubled. She wanted to reassure her that it wasn't that dangerous or unsafe.
"Claire, it's nothing hazardous." Savannah said. "I promise to look after Allison – Young Allison. You know I'll never endanger her needlessly. I promise."
Claire knew how much Savannah watched over Young Allison.
"I do know that." Claire said. "I know you love her very much."
Savannah wanted to make herself very specific.
"I do." Savannah said. "I love every Allison but I love her the most."
Claire was able to witness that in Cameron's future with Future Allison and Future Savannah. It was in that future where she'd first shared with Savannah. They were both very pregnant at the time and somehow they seemed to be able to comfort each other because they understood what the other one felt. They'd managed to squeeze in a few clandestine encounters in the present.
"I know the future." Claire said. "I've lived in it."
Savannah planned to make sure no one ever needed to do anything they didn't want when they were around her in the present or the future.
"Everyone will have a choice now and in MY future." Savannah said. "I swear it."
Claire believed that Savannah was the finest individual that she'd ever known.
"Thank You." Claire said. "I would expect nothing less from you."
Savannah wanted to make sure that everything got started and set it to motion.
"One or two of the Detail will need to bring her to the airport." Savannah said. "I don't want Cameron to set down on a city street."
Claire was a little worried with the last part of that statement.
"Has she done that?" Claire asked.
Savannah knew it was for practice on how to quickly find a 'landing' strip if one was needed for some type of emergency. It was unlikely but good training.
"She's done that a few times." Savannah said. "She made sure there were no wires, cars or trees."
Claire wondered if she would have any surprise visitors. She would really like to see Jesse or Sheila stop by.
"Who else is going?" Claire asked. "Will I have any visitors?"
"Nobody." Savannah said. "I'm unaware of any surprise guest at your location."
Claire was a little disappointed about that. She knew that Savannah and Cameron would take good care of Young Allison. They always did and they always would.
"OK, Savannah." Claire said. "You know I trust you and Cameron too."
Savannah was pleased that the conversation ended on a positive note.
"Thank you." Savannah said. "I won't let you down."
Savannah glanced over Cameron who looked at her and smiled.
Cameron drove Savannah from the Resistance base to Van Nuys Airport.
Savannah was ready for more. She wanted to 'tell' Cameron what she wanted without asking. It would be a hint. Maybe the next time it would be what she wanted to try.
"Can we do a once around on the east side of the airport?" Savannah asked.
Cameron didn't see why not. Any of the gates on to the airport property would open for her. John Henry and CamNet would make sure of that.
"Sure." Cameron said. "What's up on that side?"
Savannah saw something that she thought was beautiful.
"I want to check to see if that bomber is still there." Savannah said.
Savannah glanced over at Cameron, she didn't glance back.
"It is." Cameron said. "Do you remember what it is?"
She knew all about it and its capabilities.
"It is a B-25 Mitchell with two big Wright R2600 Twin Cyclone engines on it." Savannah said.
Cameron wanted to work Savannah up to a plane of that stature.
"The twin engine flights we're doing have prepared you to fly a plane like that. It's bigger and needs a little more muscle." Cameron said.
Savannah watched various videos on YouTube about B-25 aircraft. There were numerous aircraft in civilian hands. She liked the 'muscle car' sound of the big Twin Cyclone engines. It was how the exhaust was set up on it that gave off that throaty roar. It was much louder than some of the aircraft with larger engines or more engines.
"Maybe one day I will get to fly one." Savannah said.
Cameron smiled.
"Maybe you will." Cameron said. "The owner is very friendly."
Savannah wasn't really sure what that meant.
They did their drive by and saw the B-25 was parked in its hanger. There were some other aircraft in there too.
They entered the airport and headed for the rental office. CamNet made sure everything was arraigned and ready. Cameron took care of all the final paperwork.
They went outside onto the tarmac.
Their plane was there ready to go.
Savannah saw it was a very new looking twin.
"Wow. That is a fine looking aircraft." Savannah said. "It's different to see it in person. I've studied everything about it as you asked me to."
Cameron also provided Savannah with a selection of other training videos and manuals. One of them was for a B-25. Savannah studied from it as well, just in case. It didn't appear it would be today.
"It's Beechcraft Baron 58, dual control." Cameron said.
Savannah was unsure of how long the rental time would be. That would determine how far they could go.
"How long do we have it for?" Savannah asked.
Cameron didn't think it was a problem if some issue developed and they needed it longer. She would simply have CamNet pay the rental company twice what the plane cost to avoid any problems. There was plenty of money from the Syndicate and Cartels to pass around to others.
"We have it for as long as we need it." Cameron said.
Savannah took out a checklist. She went over the entire plane and checked, then double checked everything.
They climbed inside; Savannah went over all the controls and instruments.
"This is nicer than the Twin Cessna." Savannah said.
Cameron selected it because it was nearly brand new and a little more sophisticated than the Twin Cessna.
"This plane is new." Cameron said. "It has very little flight time."
Savannah fired it up. After a quick warm up she cleared everything with the tower. She followed her instructions and taxied out.
Cameron gave her a few pointers.
"I take it you've flown this same plane before." Savannah said.
Cameron flew that very aircraft herself prior to this flight.
"Of course I did." Cameron said. "I wanted to make sure it was safe and in prime condition."
Savannah thought maybe she should let Cameron take it up since she'd never flown this particular aircraft before.
"Do you want to do the first take off?" Savannah asked.
Cameron had total confidence in Savannah's ability.
"No." Cameron said. "You'll do fine. It is very similar to the other twins we've flown."
Savannah received clearance and headed down the runway.
She lifted off smoothly.
"Wheels up…." Savannah said.
They took off from One Six Right, the long runway at Van Nuys Airport. Savannah went into a pattern on the east side of the airport. They were doing some filming on the west side so there was a restriction in the airspace because of some helicopter activity. That was her normal pattern. Turning to the east to come back around north, put them over where Cameron, Sarah and John once lived.
Cameron looked down at the hills in front of them as Savannah banked to the east. She looked down at one of the houses they'd stayed in. It was the house where her Poem Book was hidden. The house where John chose Riley over her….
The house where everything happened that made her life worse.
Cameron experienced a glitch impulse. She was able to suppress it. At least she thought she did.
Is There Anything
Each and everyone to the table
Has something different to bring
Even without the sound of music
One can still share psalms and sing
Upon one's lonely heart
Someone can knock and ping
Will the heart slowly crumble
Or be left with a terrible ding
So along the broken path
Will one's life journey you string
Caring not much what will happen
Delivering to the mind a deadly sting
Every action has a reaction
Even to a Queen or King
As a heart is opened for another
To them it will seek to cling
Please search for the truth
Can this be more than a fling
I need to know
Is there anything
Nobody
