Heather (It's Just Polyester...)
Chrissy's heart started to race as her palms got clammy and she started to feel just the slightest bit lightheaded. Just because of her. Robin Buckley had just walked into the classroom, five minutes late- explaining that her friend's car broke down and that was why she was delayed, as the teacher shushed her and told her she did not care. She took the seat in front of Chrissy, ever so slowly pulling back the chair so as to not make any sound, but still managing to make a ruckus, causing Chrissy to smile- Robin was clumsy, that was something the girl had noticed, but she only found it endearing. Chrissy took in her outfit, her messy hair, which had some sort of effect on the girl- one she could not describe nor document yet- everything she could, and spend the rest of the hour burning holes in the back of Robin's head. It didn't help that the butterflies in her stomach were back whenever Robin was around, but surely, it was just a coincidence, right?
Chrissy noticed during her little staring session- so, during the entire class, and if she was being real she'd never listened to a word their math teacher ever said anyways- that Robin herself sent a few glances at Vickie DeWitt, and her heart sank to her stomach every time it happened.
But all of this was ridiculous. First of all, Robin did not like girls. She was attached at the hip to Steve Harrington- not that Chrissy was stalking her, although she did know about their job at Family Video, and Chrissy was convinced if they were not already dating, they soon would be. Second, in the hypothetical scenario in which Robin did like girls, why would it matter to her at all? Or why would the fact that she kept looking at Vickie bother her so much? Chrissy had a boyfriend whom she loved- or at least liked enough not to want to hurt him, and that was already something.
But it all lead to one question- Did she like girls? If she found herself wondering about Robin's whereabouts and questioning whether she had a crush on her, then surely it must have meant something- most straight girls did not do that, or at least she assumed- she wouldn't dare ask her cheer mates in case of it sounding weird and being ostracized, with everyone in Hawkins being oddly judgemental of queer people, especially in a year like 1986, so she just spent most of her free time wallowing in self-pity and wondering what might be.
She looked back on her relationship with Jason. Surely, he was nice enough, but he didn't make her feel anything that she didn't feel for her friends. Her heart didn't race when he was around, she didn't long for his kisses, and quite frankly, she'd like it better if he kept his hands off her entirely.
But the head cheerleader dating the "king" of the school was a tradition in any high school- if high school movies were any reference to go by- except for Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler, but that had been a 'blip' according to other students, an anomaly, that had died as quickly as it was born.
So Chrissy found a better, crazier solution than asking her cheermates.
"Um, do you know if I could talk to you in private?" She asked Eddie at lunch. She knew the two were an oddity- Chrissy 'the cheer queen' Cunningham and Eddie 'the freak' Munson, but somehow, they'd made their friendship work. A drug deal gone bad- if bad could be used as a term for "canceled because Chrissy realized she didn't want to do ketamine"- had kickstarted their friendship, and while they'd been keeping it on the down low, they were still somewhat close- sometimes, they even talked on the phone late at night, before Chrissy's mom got angry and started hurling insults at her, causing her mood to drop like on a rollercoaster, and Chrissy would joke that it was like they were having a sleepover- a girl's night to be precise. Eddie would pretend to be offended, but she knew from his painted nails that he wouldn't mind having her paint them while Material Girl by Madonna was playing in the background.
When they were finally alone, sitting in the school library, a place she knew no one would look for Eddie, Chrissy still didn't find the courage to talk. She was picking at a thread in her skirt, desperately avoiding eye contact.
"So, what did you need me for?" Eddie raised an eyebrow, "Because I'm pretty sure it's not weed," he whispered.
"It's just-" she let the thread go and looked at Eddie in the eye, "Do you ever… feel like kissing girls?"
Eddie made a face, "No."
"What?" Chrissy raised an eyebrow.
"What? And besides, do you feel like kissing girls?"
Chrissy suddenly became shy, "Maybe," she said, tucking a lock of stray hair behind her ear, "There's this… There's this girl. She's in some of my classes."
Eddie raised an eyebrow again, "Oh, who is it? Let me guess-"
"It's Robin Buckley," Chrissy interrupted, not in the mood to play any guessing games. Just saying the other girl's name made her heart flutter, her heart constricting as if she was going to die, and Chrissy wondered if that might be the case. She took a deep breath, not daring to look at Eddie anymore, "She's in my history class. And in my math, and French class- and she's so smart; Eddie, like she's so good at calculus, and she's so pretty, like, have you seen her face? She's so clumsy but it's adorable, like-"
Eddie held a hand to her face, causing her to stop rambling and look up at him, only to see that he was smiling, "What's so funny?" She asked, leaning back on her chair and crossing her arms.
"You definitely have a crush on Robin, Chrissy," Eddie said, moving his eyebrows up and down and giving her a shit-eating grin.
"Oh god, it's bad, isn't it?" she said, dropping her head on the table causing a small thud, "And don't say it out loud like that. Someone might hear you."
"Alright, alright," he said, holding his hands up as to surrender, "I won't mention it in public," he said lowering his voice and leaning down so that he was facing Chrissy, "But what are you gonna do about your douchebag of a boyfriend? Do you even like him?"
Chrissy rose at the question, causing Eddie to do the same, "Jason's not a douchebag! And I don't know, I mean- I like him as a friend, but I'm not dying to kiss him or anything? I like spending time with him though," She said, shrugging and raising her eyebrows as if to say she didn't know what else to say.
"Yeah, Chrissy," Eddie said, pulling his legs on the table and crossing them, "I hate to break it to you, but you don't even like your own boyfriend romantically. You might be what the kids call," he said dramatically, "a lesbian," he put the emphasis on the word lesbian.
Chrissy's heart stopped beating for what felt like an eternity, "B-but I've dated boys before!" She said, not caring how loud she was being, tears welling up in her eyes, "And- And I've got a boyfriend! And I- I mean, I'm a cheerleader-"
"But did you like any of your ex-boyfriends?" Eddie asked, empathically putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I mean, no?" She buried her face in her hands, "But-" she starts, wiping the tears off her face with her sleeves, "I guess, now that I think of it, I've had, you know," she says, lowering her voice, "Crushes on girls before. I just don't think I knew they were crushes," Eddie slightly tilted her head, urging her to continue. Chrissy took a deep breath, her gaze lowering to her skirt once again, "Nancy Wheeler."
"Holy fuck, are you being serious?" Eddie nearly yelled, causing a few students who were studying to shush him, "Nancy Wheeler?" He whispered, this time making sure to be quieter.
"Yeah," she sighed, "She was pretty, you know? And super smart. When I was a freshman, I was jealous of Steve Harrington. At first, I thought it was because I wanted to be as popular as him, but now that I look back, it was definitely… more than just about popularity. Hell, I'm still jealous of him and it's been years." She looked back and realized this was way more than what she thought. Back then, she'd stare at Nancy like she was this God-like entity, essentially idolizing her, and she often found her gaze wandering the other girl's lips, a pang of sadness hitting her every time she saw him kiss Steve- and then there'd been Jonathan- Chrissy had kept track of Nancy's boyfriends, but she'd told herself it was just because she admired the other girl. Still, there was this burning anger burning in the pit of her stomach whenever she saw her in their arms, them twirling around and exchanging sweet nothings at their lockers. At first, she thought it was because she wanted a relationship- she wasn't oblivious to the fact that at fifteen, hormones were raging and teenagers wanted to date, but once she got what she thought she wanted, her jealousy still didn't go away. So she learned to tame it, and to not let it show- 'Jealousy is not ladylike," her mother would have said, but honestly, fuck her mother- she was terrible to her.
Eddie chuckled at that, "And why are you still jealous of him? He's not even in fucking high school anymore."
"Because," Chrissy buried her face in her hands once again, "Robin spends all her free time with him. He even picks her up at lunch so they can eat together. I can't compete again Steve Harrington!" she whisper-yelled, "I mean, what if they're dating? Or what if she likes him?"
Eddie stared at her for a second, before bursting into laughter, causing Chrissy to glare at him. Was he not taking her seriously? Eddie laughed for a full minute before trying to catch his breath, failing to do so. He laughed for two additional minutes, attracting the curious gazes of the people who'd shushed them earlier.
When Eddie finally caught his breath, he was at loss for words- only for a few seconds though, "Chrissy, Robin keeps on insisting that she and Steve are platonic with a capital P. I genuinely don't think you have anything to worry about on that level."
Chrissy looked up at Eddie, her eyes gleaming with hope, "Really?" she exclaimed, before crossing her arms and leaning back on her chair, "And how do you know that?"
"I hang out with them, sometimes- a lot, actually. And with the kids too, but- never mind, what I mean is that you've got a shot with her. She's not into Steve at all."
"But how do I know that she likes girls and isn't some homophobe who is going to out me to the whole town, making me some kind of town pariah?"
Eddie gave her a small smile, "Trust me, Cunningham. I know what I'm talking about. Plus, the girl wears a rainbow pin for fuck's sake. I can set something with the four of us- me, Steve, you and Robin, and Steve and I can be your wingmen," Eddie said, extending his hand.
Chrissy smiled at that, and gladly shook it, "Deal. Now I just need to find a way to break up with Jason," she sighed.
While Chrissy was in an ecstatic mood about her not-date with Robin, someone else had been feeling very sullen lately.
"Steve, you're moping again," Robin rolled her eyes at her friend, "Did Linda or Heather or whatever ditch you again or what?" She teased him, from behind the counter of Family Video. She took another look at Steve, who was pretending to go through an aisle but was actually just running his fingers through the VHS cases. The store was empty due to it being late and November, so there wasn't much work to do.
"Ha ha," he said, in a monotone voice, "Just know that I have bigger problems than that. Problems that require your help, actually."
Robin tapped the counter with her hands, "Lay it all on me, Don Juan."
"What the fuck is a Don Juan?" Steve asked, narrowing his eyebrows. If Steve were to be honest, he hadn't remembered a single thing from high school- one could say he was too focused on fighting Demogorgons and dealing with the trauma and the aftermath of it all to fully focus- he just needed to find a therapist that would believe him, a no-go so far.
"It's a man that- ugh, you know what? That's not important right now. What's your problem?"
Steve put his hand behind his head, "I think I might have a crush on someone?" he said, hesitantly.
Robin's eyebrows shot up instantly, "Oh, on whom? Don't tell me Steve 'the hair' Harrington is finally ready to settle down?"
He looked at her defeatedly, and said in a barely audible voice, "Eddie."
"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that," Robin said, despite the fact that she'd previously referred to her ears as 'little geniuses' when they'd been trying to catch the Russians, so Steve knew she had heard him. She was even smirking.
Still, he rolled his eyes and said it again, louder this time, "Eddie."
That's when Robin burst into laughter, "Oh fuck-" she started, interrupted by another fit of laughter, "Fucking hell. I'm not gonna get through this," she said, as she laughed for what seemed like an eternity to Steve.
She finally stopped laughing, and immediately asked Steve, "You have a crush on Eddie?"
Steve walked up to the counter, "Maybe I do."
Robin laughed so hard she started sobbing and her stomach started to hurt, "What are you gonna do about it? And why are you so mopey? Scared someone's gonna steal him away from you?"
"No, it's just-" he ran a hand through his hair, "He's always hanging out with Chrissy Cunningham. What if they're together? She even broke up with her fancy schmancy boyfriend last week."
Robin softly laughed at that, "First of all, how come you keep with high school drama? Even I don't and I still go to Hawkins High," she squinted at him, "Second, come on, we spend almost all our time together and I'm a lesbian- and you're a bisexual with no game, and that doesn't mean we're dating-"
She was interrupted by the phone ringing in the back of the store, "I'll be back, but this conversation is not over."
"Hello, this is Family Video. Any movie you'd like to rent?" She paused for a second as the interlocutor spoke, "Oh hi, Eddie, didn't expect you to call," she said shooting a look at Steve, "What do you want?"
"Oh, a hangout sesh with you, Steve, and Chrissy tonight?" She said loudly so that Steve would hear, causing him to mouth her 'told ya', but still nodded enthusiastically, causing Robin to answer, "Sure, why not?"
Steve ran to the phone, knocking it out of Robin's hands, causing the latter to whisper to him, "What the hell?"
"Hey, Eddie!" Steve said, a little too enthusiastically.
"Harrington!" Eddie replied, with as much eagerness, "What brings you to the phone?"
"Well, uh," Steve said, his heart racing, "My parents are out of town. So your thing, we can do it at my place."
"Oh, awesome! I'll tell Chrissy. Let's say, 9 PM?"
"U-uh," Steve stammered, "9 PM, sure."
"And uh, Harrington? Don't tell Robin but Chrissy's got like, this massive crush on her, so I say we be their wingmen tonight?" Steve's eyes widened at the question- so Eddie and Chrissy weren't dating, and even better, Chrissy had a crush on someone else. Steve wouldn't dare to admit it but he was feeling ecstatic.
"B-but-" Steve almost protested, wanting to mention Robin's so-called 'not-crush' on Vickie ("I don't like her like that!" Robin had told him a million times), but stopped himself. If he did, then Robin would know something was up.
"But?"
"N-nothing. See you later, Munson."
"See you later, Harrington," Eddie said, before the line went dead.
When he looked up from the phone, he was met with the sight of a Robin who looked like she was holding back a good laugh- "Holy shit, how did I never notice that? You were so flustered, oh my god," she chuckled, "I guess I'm shit at noticing crushes- except for that Will kid who moved away, he definitely had a thing for Mike."
"What?" Steve asked, narrowing his eyes at her, "Really? Wow, I would have sworn they were just best friends," he continued, shrugging his shoulders.
"Anyways, not my point. Tonight is your chance with Eddie, you should seize it! Plus, he gave you his Corroded Coffin sweater, that's gotta mean something! I mean, if I were into a girl, I'd totally give her one of my sweaters, I mean given that it was the right size and everything-"
"It's just polyester, Robin! It doesn't have to mean anything," he replied in frustration. Robin just rolled her eyes at him.
Steve thought long and hard about it- if this was true- if Chrissy did have a crush on Robin, then this meant she and Eddie weren't together, and she wasn't into Eddie… Then he might have a chance. The keyword being: might. And he might just try.
By 11:26 PM, all four were at least some level of drunk- if not wasted, for some. Chrissy didn't know what possessed her to drink straight vodka, especially since she'd never had vodka in her life- except for the need to impress the object of her desires, but it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever had, the ethanol burning her throat on its way down, yet she found herself drinking it again solely to impress Robin, and it had seemed to work.
"Wow, the head cheerleader of Hawkins High might not be so innocent, after all," Robin had given Chrissy a smile before grabbing the bottle of vodka and mixing it with some lemonade she'd found in Steve's fridge, "Shocker."
"What can I say," Chrissy had flashed Robin a pearly grin, "I'm full of mysteries," she'd said in a low voice, in an attempt to flirt with the other girl. They didn't notice the two boys observing them.
"This is going well so far," Steve said, sipping on his can of beer. The four of them were sitting cross-legged in the middle of Steve's spacious room, and Robin and Chrissy were slowly but surely getting to know each other, sending flirty smiles back and forth. Steve knew Robin found Chrissy pretty despite all her attempts to deny it- he'd caught her staring at Chrissy a few times during basketball matches, and he wondered if it was all a coincidence or if Robin had a thing for gingers.
A few hours later, when they were all drunk- they knew that because the room was spinning for all of them, and Chrissy and Steve were both feeling this weird fluttering in the pit of their stomach- but they both knew it was due to their respective crushes, however, they were eternally thankful for they could blame the blushing cheeks on their alcohol overconsumption rather than looking suspicious.
"So what got you into cheerleading?" Robin asked Chrissy, their hands getting closer. Chrissy scooted closer to Robin, whispering something in her ear, causing Robin to spit out her drink, "Oh my god," She said, sporting a wide grin and putting her hand over her mouth.
Chrissy just smiled back, "And you? What got you into band?" she asked, tentatively putting her hand over Robin's, who didn't remove hers.
"Well, I had this toy trumpet when I was a kid, and I wouldn't stop playing it-"
However, Robin was interrupted by Eddie yelling into everyone's ears, "Guys, let's play truth or dare!"
"What the hell, Eddie?" Robin whined, putting her hands to her ears, "You know I have sensitive ears, those are my babies," she said, covering them and scooting over to the side as to avoid him, moving even closer to Chrissy. She didn't see the way the other girl's face turn an awkward shade of puce.
"Sure," Steve giggled, putting whiskey in a half-full can of coke, "Oh, that way we can find out who has a crush on who!" He said, before putting his hand over his mouth, "Fuck, I probably shouldn't have said that."
Eddie thumped the back of Steve's head, "What are you, fourteen?" He laughed, "But yeah that actually sounds fun. And I'm not just saying that because I'd love to know who Robin likes- she's so secretive about it."
"You guys know I can hear you, right?" Robin chimed in, "And besides, I don't like anyone. And even if I did, I'm not nearly drunk enough to tell you guys. I'd have to be like, both super drunk and super high to tell any of you guys anything, right, Steve? Steve, we've made that clear," she said, grabbing her feet and rocking back and forth. Chrissy just observed the exchange.
"Yes, you've told me over a hundred times you don't like anyone," he answered, rolling his eyes, "I mean, sure, I guess," causing Robin to blow a raspberry at him, "Wow, real mature, Buckley," he said, sticking his tongue out to mock her. Robin got up, walked over to him, and hit him in the shoulder. "Ow," he said, rubbing his hand on his poor bruised shoulder, "What was that for?"
"Behave yourself next time, dingus," she said, flashing a sarcastic smile, before sitting back next to Chrissy, who was grinning. Chrissy tucked a strand of hair behind her ear- she wasn't used to letting it down- and attributed the way her brain was short-circuiting to the vodka. "So," Robin clasped her hands, "How do we decide who asks who what? I say we take that empty vodka bottle," she said, putting her arm over Chrissy's lap and reaching for said bottle, "And we spin it. Whoever it lands on first has to ask the question, we spin it again and whoever it lands on second has to answer."
Eddie, Steve, and Chrissy all agreed. Eddie spun the bottle, with it landing on Steve. He then spun the bottle again, with it this time landing on Chrissy.
Eddie rubbed his hands together, "So, Harrington, what do you got in store?"
Steve furrowed his brows, "Come on man, we don't even know if she wants to pick truth or da-"
"I pick dare," Chrissy said, smiling at Steve, "I'm feeling adventurous."
"Okay…" Steve pretended to think, while he already knew what he was going to say. He put a finger to his chin, stayed silent for a few seconds and finally said, "I dare you to play seven minutes in heaven with Robin."
Chrissy's face morphed into a mix of apprehension and excitement- she was finally going to kiss her crush- but she realized Robin might not be of the same opinion.
"No fucking way," Robin said, causing Chrissy's heart to sink, "I mean, what if Chrissy doesn't like girls? I mean, I'd gladly kiss her, she's cute and everything, it's just, it would be unethical to-"
"I do! I like girls!" Chrissy excitedly rose her hand, nearly knocking Robin over and slapping Steve in the process, "But don't tell anyone, of course."
Robin licked her lips, as if she was thinking this through. She held her hands up, surrendering, "Alright, I'll do it."
Eddie and Steve gave each other triumphant looks, "You guys could just use the bathroom," he said, hushing them towards the end of the hallway, not after giving them a timer he borrowed from the kitchen, "Be safe in there," he winked. Robin elbowed him, causing him to yell, "Ouch, what did I do?"
"You know what you did, dingus." Robin turned back to glare at him.
Once Robin and Chrissy were in the bathroom, Chrissy immediately locked the door.
"Wow, someone's a little thirsty," Robin joked, barely able to stand so she sat down legs crossed, "So, what do you wanna do to pass the time?"
Chrissy suddenly felt bold, probably another side effect of the alcohol, "I mean, I thought we were going to make out," she shrugged, raising an eyebrow.
Robin giggled, "What?" She exclaimed, "You actually wanna make out with me, Robin Buckley?" to which Chrissy nodded. She pointed her left index towards herself, before pointing it towards Chrissy, "You, Chrissy Cunningham, queen of Hawkins High? Oh my fucking god, I must be drunk off my ass because that kind of shit only happens in my dreams."
Chrissy sat in front of Robin, "No, listen- I really like you. You were like, my lesbian awakening, actually. And I've had a crush on you for a while now."
"I mean," Robin mimicked blowing her mind with her hands, "That's not what I expected at all to come from tonight," she leaned in, her lips dangerously close to Chrissy's "But I'm not complaining," she added.
"Good to know," Chrissy replied, closing the gap between their two pair of lips.
Outside the room, Steve and Eddie both had their ear to the door, trying to spy on whatever was going on inside of the bathroom.
"Do you hear anything?" Steve asked a disinterested Eddie who was now slumped against the door, half asleep, "Eddie!" He said, smacking his shoulder.
"Ow!" he whisper-yelled, "Chill out, man."
"Do you want them to hear us?" He said, making sure not to touch the door.
Eddie just rolled his eyes at Steve, "I think they're just making out anyways. I'm not sure I wanna hear all those mouth noises," causing Steve to make a face.
"Ew, mouth noises? Who says that?"
"Anyways," Eddie said, his voice at a normal volume, "I say we go back to your room because this is getting boring. I don't wanna hear them macking on each other. It's, what's the word," Eddie said, stroking his chin with his thumb and his index finger, "gross as shit."
Eddie and Steve walked back to Steve's room, and sat down on the bed this time, with them sitting with their legs crossed facing each other.
"So?" Eddie said, raising his arms and letting them flop around his sides.
"Nothing's stopping us from playing truth or dare, it'll just be two players instead of four," Steve shrugged.
Eddie smirked, "Alright, then. Truth or dare, Harrington?"
"Truth. I feel like you would dare me to break into the neighbors' house or something," Steve said, furrowing his brows and pointing his finger at Eddie.
Eddie flicked Steve's finger, "Maybe, but I don't think you'd have the balls to do it," he said, shrugging.
Steve feigned being offended, "Uh, I could totally do it! And I'd steal a fuckton of shit too, and leave no fingerprints. The perfect crime."
Eddie smiled at that, "Sure. Anyways, where's the weirdest place you've ever hooked up?" He said, leaning closer to Steve and staring at him straight in the eyes.
Steve blushed, his heart rate accelerating. He quickly regained his composure and rolled his eyes, raising his eyebrows, "Of course you'd ask me about sex," he said, crossing his arms and, wanting to lean back, yelling as he almost fell off the bed but landed on his back, on the pillow.
"You okay, dumbass?" Eddie said, crawling over Steve when he didn't hear anything. Their faces were inches apart, "What the hell happened over there?"
Steve's brain was short-circuiting, just like Chrissy's had earlier. Eddie was there, lips inches away from his, and he said the first that went through his brain, "Can you kiss me?" He said, without thinking. Oh no. This was going to be a fuck-fest. Eddie would figure out Steve has a crush on him and never let him live it down, and this would be the end. Dustin would make fun of him for having no game and- his stream of consciousness was interrupted he was surprised by a pair of lips on his own. Steve, although initially in shock, quickly reciprocated the kiss. Their mouths moved in sync, until they had to come up for air.
"Wow," Steve said, "I never thought that you'd actually do it," he said, his cheeks flushed, mouth still inches from Eddie's.
"Yeah well, when a dude sees an opportunity to kiss the guy he likes, he does it," he said, smirking at Steve, "Plus, I'm a known opportunist. You think I actually paid for this alcohol?"
"W-Wait, you like me?" Steve said, ignoring the comment about the alcohol. He wasn't sure he wanted to know he wanted to know how Eddie got ahold of it.
"It's been a while, Harrington," He replied, "Plus Robin has been harassing me to know when I was going to finally make a move."
"Holy shit. Guess I must have been clueless as shit, because I like you too and I thought you were like, a raging hetero or something. I was even scared you were dating Chrissy." Still, Steve was very glad to have been wrong about that- and that Chrissy turned out to like Robin. Eddie was his first serious crush since he'd dated Nancy, two years prior, and he didn't know how he would have managed to act around them if they had been dating. He would have probably been very awkward for a few months, at least. Just the thought of it sent a shiver down his spine.
"Me? A raging hetero? You're the one who looks straight! I swear you date like, forty-seven girls a week! How dare you say that about me?" When he gave it thought, he realized Eddie had never mentioned any girls- and when he'd talked about his exes, he'd used gender-neutral terms, but it had never hit Steve until now that Eddie might like boys.
"I don't know! I had no idea."
"So what does this mean, dumbass?"
"My parents aren't here till Sunday," Steve shrugged, "You can come over anytime. Except when I'm not here, obviously," he paused, "That would be breaking and entering, I think."
"Just know that I'm not above that," Eddie said, flashing a smile, "But noted, it's a date. Still, that doesn't help, since I don't know your schedule."
"Just ask Robin?" Steve answered, realizing he barely knew his own schedule but his friend had it nearly memorized, "I don't know it that well. But wait, Robin knew?"
"I didn't know who to tell and I needed to get it out of my system. Also,I think she's the tiniest bit busy making out with a cheerleader we set her up with," he said, his gaze wandering down to Steve's lips, "Something I think we should do again."
Steve smirked, "I think so too," he said, kissing Eddie again, this time not letting go.
They only stopped when they were interrupted by a voice, "Well, well, well," Robin said, slowly clapping, "What have we got here?" She said, smirking. Chrissy was behind her, giggling.
"W-Well," Steve started, sitting up, causing Eddie to do the same. His entire body was flushed and his cheeks were flaming red, "See- Eddie and I were just- I spilled my drink on my shirt and Eddie was-" Robin gave Steve a knowing look, "Eddie, for fuck's sakes, help a brother out."
"H-he…" Eddie didn't say anything for a few seconds before raising his arms as to surrender, "We were making out," he said, shrugging, causing Steve to hit Eddie in the shoulder, "Wow, is this really how you treat your boyfriend?" Steve's eyes widened at the mention of the word boyfriend- so Eddie was his boyfriend. He was ecstatic at the idea, but he didn't look forward to the fact that Robin was never going to let him live it down.
"Boyfriend?" Robin curiously asked, sitting on the floor of Steve's room, Chrissy following. Neither Steve nor Eddie commented on the fact that they were holding hands.
"Maybe," Steve said, as he and Eddie joined Chrissy and Robin on the floor. Chrissy still didn't speak up, but she had a smile plastered onto her face, and was staring at the window.
"Chrissy, wake up," Eddie snapped his fingers in front of her.
"Huh?" She said, snapping back to reality, still smiling.
"Damn, I don't know what happened in there but that must have been really… interesting," Eddie said, not-so-subtly pointing at Chrissy and Robin's intertwined hands.
Robin threw the timer at him, narrowly missing his head, "Next time, I promise won't miss," she warned him, a sly smile making a way across her face.
