HoloRWBY-Alternate

An: So, recently I've been going through my stories and making the tough decision on which I will have to, sadly, discontinue because I can't find the inspiration to finish them, new ideas come to mind that are easier to find inspiration for, or the content of said story no longer fits with what I had in mind for the story's direction. Already done so with one story, and more will follow, unfortunately. Hopefully, once I'm done, the ones that remain I can update at a quicker rate, and maybe some of these other story ideas I have multiple chapters almost already planned out for can be written down quickly and the story be completed just as fast.

This story falls under the second one. To be honest, since discovering Hololive on YouTube a while back, I wanted to make a fanfic starring the members, but this is the first that I found easiest to write down. Naturally, I hope y'all enjoy it, and hopefully, this one won't fall down the way of my other stories.

Note that I will be taking inspiration from the Hololive Alternative trailers, the HoloEarth game, what I've seen from the Holocure game, and various conversations the Hololive and Holostars members have had to build the world the characters of Hololive live in. I'll try to keep everyone as in-character as I can, but I'm still new on the JP members so I may need assistance on that front. I'm only really familiar with Subaru, Suisei, and Sora.

With that out of the way, please enjoy this Hololive/RWBY crossover!

Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY; and I do not own anything associated with Hololive.

CHAPTER 1: They fell through the World and into Another…

She felt her consciousness fading as the darkness consumed her. She saw Blake fading into the black a few feet from her. She looked up to see Neo falling towards her, quickly grasping her neck. She felt the multicolored haired girl's bony fingers tighten around her neck. Ruby choked as she tried to remove Neo's hands from her throat, futilely slamming her fists into Neo's arms, when suddenly, a bright shone from beneath them, making Neo cry out in pain and let go of her.

She looked down and only saw a dark light reach out to her, causing her to black out.

?

"Huh?" A tall, read haired beauty with one red and one blue eye in a black and white dress with a red skirt whirled to stare out into the bright blue expanse of sky. Two black horns jutted out of her wavy hair as a halo of black and white stars floated just above her head. "That power…it was…almost like…But what is this sense of despair?" Her dual-colored eyes narrowed. "Something's wrong!"

Suddenly, wings appeared behind her and she took to the sky, heading towards the west.

"Oi! Daijōbudesuka?! Ō! Byōin ni denwa suru hitsuyō ga arimasu ka?!" Ruby groaned as she attempted to open her eyes, however the process was sluggish. Forcibly, she cracked open one of her eyes to see a blurry figure in front of her. She cracked open her other eye and tried focusing on the figure.

After a moment, her eyes finally refocused, and Ruby found herself staring at a young woman only about a few years older than herself. She had a star clip with a red ribbon in her long brown hair, blue eyes and was wearing a white blouse with a blue vest and matching skirt. She looked incredibly concerned as she tried to shake Ruby awake.

Ruby opened her eyes fully and groaned again as she tied to sit up. "H-Hi?" she asked, causing the girl's eyes to widen for a moment before she smiled cheerfully.

"Yokatta! Watashi wa anata ga muishikidatta node wanai ka to shinpai shimashita," the girl stated, causing Ruby to frown in confusion.

"I-I'm sorry, what?" she asked.

The girl's eyes widened. "Oh! You speak English?!" the girl asked in accented Vytalian. And what was English? Some slang term for Vytalian? "I apologize! I was not aware. I was saying I'm glad you are ok! I had been afraid you were unconscious!" She turned and gestured to a cliff. "I was relaxing over there when you fell from the sky."

"F-Fell from the sky…?" Ruby was confused until she remembered. "Oh!" Suddenly, she felt the despair of failing again crush her, but she tried to push it away for now. "Y-Yeah. I…I've been having a rough week…" she said lamely, making the girl laugh.

"I'm sure we all have those from time to time!" She gave Ruby a beaming smile that the silver eyed girl couldn't help but return. The Huntress quickly stood up and took stock of her surroundings, noting she and the girl were on a grassy hill overlooking a breathtaking valley and the several large skyscrapers that were abandoned and overgrown to her immediate right. To her left, she saw a giant, crystal like sword jutting out of the ground. It looked impressive, but Ruby had never heard of any place like the scene she was taking in.

Suddenly, she heard a very loud roar overhead, making her crouch and reach for Crescent Rose However, when she didn't feel it behind her, she quickly remembered she lost it. The sound of giant wings resounded in the air, making Ruby look up and gasp.

Dragons. Giant, actual non-Grimm dragons soared in the sky above her. Her eyes widened as several more dragons flew into her field of vision. She tried rubbing her eyes, but the dragons continued to soar above her.

"Oh! The dragon migration is starting!" the girl exclaimed with a smile. Turning to Ruby, she continued, "Quite majestic, is it not?"

"…I think I might have hit my head harder than I thought," Ruby mumbled. The girl blinked as Ruby rubbed her head. She turned to the girl and asked, "Where am I?"

The girl looked confused for a moment. "This is the Slumbering Dragon Hill, just outside of Seiso City," she told her.

"Sei-so City? Where on Remnant is that?!" Ruby asked.

"Remnant?" Ruby's eyes widened at the girl's question, her mind returning to what Ambrosius said:

"Do not fall."

"What world am I on?" Ruby asked finally as she fell back to her knees, making the girl's eyes widened.

Her expression turned gentle. "This is Earth," she said. "And you've been thrown from your home, haven't you?" Ruby's eyes widened, both from the revelation and her accurate guess.

"How did you…?" she tried asking, but the girl cut her off.

"This is actually quite normal here," she explained. "The Alter-Effect makes the boundaries between worlds quite thin."

"Alter-Effect? What? I don't understand!" Ruby exclaimed in confusion. Dread filled her mind. Was Blake ok? Yang? They both fell with her. Were they here on this world named Earth? And Weiss! And Penny! Did they make it to Vacuuo safely?!

Her inner monologue was broken as the girl placed a hand on her shoulder, causing Ruby to direct her attention back at her. "Hey, it's ok," she said with a wave of her hand. "This isn't too big of a deal. Why don't we go somewhere more comfortable to discuss this? And I can call up a few friends to help you."

"R-Really? Just like that?" Ruby asked, taken aback at how sudden the offer to help was.

"Yep! It's the right thing to do, no?" she asked with a teasing grin, making Ruby's eyes widen at the sincerity that shown within the girl's eyes. The young Huntress gave a tiny chuckle.

"Yeah. And thanks," she said. The girl smiled widely again and held out her hand for Ruby, which she took. As she was brought to her feet, Ruby turned to the girl and continued, "And uh, kinda late, but my name is Ruby Rose. It's nice to meet you." The girl nodded with a giggle.

"True! It's nice to meet you Ruby-san," the girl said and then gestured to herself. "My name is Tokino Sora."

?

Jaune felt his consciousness return to him, confusing him slightly as he didn't remember losing it in the first place. He tried to think of what could have knocked him out, but all he remembered was a dark light shining in his eyes before waking up here. Wherever here is.

As he was refocusing himself, he started hearing voices all around him, making him tense a bit. He kept his eyes closed and instead focused on trying to listen into whoever was speaking.

"C'mon, mate! You gotta admit it's suspicious!" one voice, male, snarled in a thick southern Mistralian accent.

"I have to agree with Axel here," another male voice, this one with a more central Mistralian accent agreed. "You saw his sword, Altare."

"That just means he was in a fight, not that he's an enemy, boys," another male voice, this one with a Vytalian accent, rebutted.

"Altare's right," a fourth male voice, this one with an Atlesian accent, called out. "Our best bet is to wait for our guest to finally stop eavesdropping and explain himself." Jaune tried to suppress a flinch and was shocked he did so. How did this guy know he was awake?

"Come one and wake up, young man," the voice continued. "I promise no one here will harm you." Jaune sighed and did as instructed. Opening his eyes and pulling himself up into a seating position, he found himself in front of a campfire, and it was night. On the other side of the campfire, there were four guys, who looked about the same age as himself, and behind them he could just make out the dark outline of an RV.

The tallest of the group was pale skinned and wore very regal attire. He had long sliver hair and sported glasses over purple eyes. A rapier was strapped to his side, and he was holding a book. Jaune also noted that he seemed to have fangs poking out form his lips as he stared at him stoically.

To the guy's right stood a tall blonde-haired, blue-eyed man in black and orange tracksuit-like getup. He had red highlights in his spiky hair and was a Faunus, if his sharp teeth and tail was any indication. He gave Jaune a hard and cautious look as his hands tightened around a chain.

To the blonde's right stood the third guy who wore purple robes and a bizarre cloak that ended with giant hands. He had medium long platinum blonde hair and yellowish-gold eyes, but Jaune's eyes were immediately drawn to the purple symbol on his hair. He looked at Jaune with a hint of smugness and curiosity.

To the pale guy's left was the shortest of the group. He wore a white, blue, and silver jacket over a blue hoodie. He also wore black pants and had a pistol hung from a belt at his waist. His short blue hair framed his youthful face, and his teal eyes shined as he smiled at Jaune.

"Hey there!" the blue haired one said cheerfully and waved at the Huntsman. "You gave us quite the scare there, friend! You doing ok now?"

Jaune was shocked for a moment until he realized he was being addressed. He quickly shook himself and said, "Y-Yeah. I think." He looked around and noticed he was in a very dark forest with the only light being from the campfire.

"Glad to hear it!" the blue haired one smiled. "You fell from quite a ways up. Luckily, you were almost on top of us. We were able to catch you before you hit the ground."

"Fell? I-" Memories resurfaced for Jaune. His eyes widened as he stared back at the quartet opposite him. That's when he noticed his sword, lying precariously across a bench close to them. The broken end was still stained with Penny's blood. His face fell.

The four were startled when they noticed the guy almost lose it, pure devastation colored his face as he recalled some hard memories. The blonde-haired Faunus grimaced at the sudden change while the blue haired on frowned. Jaune quickly refocused himself and took a deep breath.

"S-Sorry about that," Jaune apologized. "Today's been…" He sighed in melancholy. "…A nightmare…"

The blue haired young man nodded. "I feel ya," he said softly. "You must have lost someone close to you, huh?"

"…Yeah."

"If you want to talk about it, we're all good listeners." Jaune stared at the speaker for a moment before sighing. He took a few minutes to gather himself and collect his thoughts before he started speaking, telling them about the situation in Atlas, Salem, their desperate plan, and of course…Penny.

"…Ah hell," the blonde Faunus grunted, his face reflecting his shock. "That's kind of fucked up…"

"No kidding," the other blonde commented, his face sporting a similar look.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all that, buddy," the blue haired one commented sympathetically. Jaune just sighed again and nodded to him.

"Thanks for that. It's…I needed to get that off my chest," the Huntsman said. "And uh…I don't know how to put this, but…you guys didn't seem to recognize Atlas, or General Ironwood, or even Grimm. Why? You should know all this, unless…" He trailed off, unsure of how to continue.

Luckily, they understood. "Unless we are not from your world, correct?" the pale one asked slowly. Jaune was startled, but he nodded in affirmation. "Then you'd be correct. When you failed to make through that portal you spoke of, you most likely fell through the Void, the space between worlds. Which makes sense, since you fell from the sky on top of us. Our world, Earth, is a hotspot for anything and everything supernatural and a prime landing zone for anyone and anything lost in the Void."

Jaune's eyes widened for a moment before he sighed again. "Yeah, I figured that might have been the case," he mumbled. He gave a mirthless chuckle and said, "Never just rains, it has to pour, doesn't it?"

"Indeed," the pale one said solemnly.

"So, if you don't mind me asking, what are you going to do now?" the gold eyed one asked. Jaune shrugged.

"I don't know. Maybe I'll go try and find my friends. Most of them fell before me." Jaune's face contorted into a look of agony. "And…and I owe to Ruby to be the one to…to tell about Penny. I have to…"

The blue haired one looked at Jaune for a moment, then he turned to his friends. They looked at him as well and saw what he was thinking. They nodded, and he turned back to Jaune. "Hey, if you want, we can help you out with that," he offered, making Jaune turn sharply to stare at him. "Earth's a pretty big place, and there's no guarantee they've landed anywhere close to you, or each other. Plus, we've got plenty of connections. We can help you find them quicker."

"R-Really? Just like that?" Jaune asked incredulously. The young man smiled.

"Yep! And besides, I think after hearing your what happened to you, we can all agree we can't just sit idly by and let a crazy immortal witch and her psychopathic minion get away with genocide. Can we boys?"

"Hell no!" the Faunus shouted. "And those Grimm she controls sound like good target practice to me!"

"Immortality is a highly sought after state of being, and any alchemist worth their Elixir cannot allow it to be misused!" the purple robed guy said in agreement.

"Our job requires us to make sure this woman and her lackeys do not follow through with their vile plans," the pale one added. "But most of all, it would seem you and your friends need assistance, which is our Guild's top priority." The blue haired one smiled widely and turned back to Jaune.

"And there you have it!" the blue haired guy said, smiling. Jaune's eyes were wide at their proclamations, but he quickly smiled back.

"T-Thanks, guys. I…I can't thank you enough!" Jaune was a tad concerned by how readily these total strangers were offering to help, but he wasn't going to look a gift Equine in the mouth. He stood and prepared to introduce himself when his brain finally registered what the pale guy said. "I'm Jaune Arc, by the way. And did I hear incorrectly, or did you say were part of a Guild?" he asked the pale one, who nodded.

"Indeed I did," he confirmed. "Also, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Jaune Arc. My name is Vesper Noir."

"G'evening, mate! I'm Axel Syrios!" the Faunus said boisterously. "Sorry if I came off cold earlier, I…I kinda thought you might have been an enemy." Jaune shook his head.

"No worries. I understand," he waved off, which make Axel smile wider.

"Pleased to meet you Jaune," the robed man said. "I'm Magni Dezmond."

"And I'm Regis Altare," the now named Regus introduced himself. "Together, we form the Tempus Guild!"

"Great! Now that the intros our done, how 'bout we finally get some grub?! We can discuss more about everything over a good hot meal," Magni commented, making Regis nod.

"Sure thing! I'm sure Jaune's probably famished too!" Jaune laughed at that.

"Yeah, it's a been a long two days for me!" he agreed.

"I'll bet!" Regis smiled and turned around. He blinked. "Hey, guys?"

"Yeah boss?" the three members of Tempus asked.

"Where's the RV?" Everyone turned to see an empty lot behind them.
